The hotel rooms are in need of a facelift/updating. The room that I was in wasn't cleaned too well, with hairs and crumbs scattered about. It seemed the hot water was a hit or miss while taking a shower...starts off warm and then goes cool.

I checked in and not even 2 hours later, I checked out. The first room I was given, the base of the lavatory had the black molds. The efforts to remove it was futile. The second room that I was placed in, the sink was clogged, cabinets were grossly chipped, the microwave was so out to date. The bed was not comfortable. The pictures on Expedia were totally different. I took pictures from proof. I’m asking for a full credit/ refund for this booking. The staff tried but the rooms badly need a repair/ remodeling.

The room we were given was very disappointing. The moment we walked in, the air smelled stale and unpleasant. Although we stayed on the 17th floor, there was no natural light at all—our only view was of a parking area facing another building. The room itself was in poor condition and did not feel clean or well-maintained.

We contacted management to request a better option since our stay was for 15 days. While they offered us a larger room, we did not move because it was in nearly the same condition, and the hassle of switching wasn’t worth it.

The only positive aspect of this property is the friendly staff. Unfortunately, beyond that, I cannot recommend it and will not be staying here again.

The property and the rooms we booked were full of roaches and other bugs and bee bugs . The maintenance people knocked at our door at 11:30 pm twice one night and once the night after to check our sink or bathroom because they said the one room at our bottom has a leak in their ceiling no wonder our bathroom and the hallways there smell

Not worth the Money

The bathroom toilet kept overflowing for three days. The maintenance man was unable to fix it. The room is very old with couch had tares in it. We moved to another room and the bedroom A/C unit never worked only blew hot air. Mantenance was me to fix. The sinks was very slow to drain. There were nats all over the bathroom. The hot water only lasted for maybe 2-3 minutes. There was supposed to be a microwave in the room but there was none. The elevators 3 out of 4 were broken for more than a day. The floor tiles in the room were old and cracked. The refrigerator did not work only slightly kept things like warm.

Look for another hotel.

Well I availed the studio superior on the website bed should be a queen size well I got a double sized bed, the room includes a mini fridge and a kitchen, there’s a stove no kitchen pots or a kettle to even boil a water for the coffee no coffee maker as well, what’s the sense of providing a mini kitchen if there are no kitchen utensils you can use, are the guest will be bringing it over during their stay? Extra pillows and blankets will incur additional fee, take note there’s no slippers and bathrobes in the room, hygiene kit only includes soap and shampoo bring your own toothbrush and toothpaste. I’m so disappointed that we checked out around 5:30AM. Never going back to this hotel!

This property is poorly/badly maintained. When I checked in, you can smell sewage inside the elevator and there is even water(condensation) leaking inside the elevator unit.

The room that I was put it the first time, has very nasty bathroom. The caulking is dirty and cracked, the floor is flooding with water from the shower and the shower valve is loose.

On the kitchen, they provide a broken electric water pot patch with a tape.

I requested to be transferred to another room that at first look nicer with nice looking bathroom. However, just the same, the caulking is dark dirty and has lots of mold. On the same night I transferred I got sick with cold and my family were coughing.

Both rooms I’ve stayed has a porch that cannot be used because the area is so nasty with floors darkened by too much dust that is now like a dried mud and broken tiles and doors to the porch have broken handle and locks. Luckily, I was on 20th and up floor so I don’t worry about burglar barging in from the porch.

Nonetheless, this property is poorly maintained and does not deserve to be rented. Regardless whether each unit on this property are owned by different owners, their management agreement should include that the management has the right to repair and remodel the units without the owners approval for it to be rented. Both Owners and management don’t have excuse in running a hotel / rental that is this badly maintained.

We rented three rooms. One of the rooms smelled bad and had half-dead huge cockroach just laying down there. In our main bedroom, there were 2 small cockroaches in the bathroom. The worst thing is not having complimentary parking though there were a lot of open spaces. They said that open spaces were for owners. If owners are renting their units, they should also offer their parking spaces as well. The rooms are overpriced for the condition and services offered by the hotel. Staff though are nice and the hotel buffet breakfast is good.

The layout of the room was awkward to say the least it looks as if the room was purposed for something else. The bathroom was so small you couldn’t turn around it which made it very awkward to use. The front staff could not accommodate English-speakers. Several requests that I made went unaddressed including issues regarding my WiFi (IT was suppose to contact me but never did) and having inadequate bathing items available. Only the front desk manager did a superlative job of taking care of any issues that arose (including an angry anti-American tenant who threatened me). The ground floor restroom was out of outdoor (which caused an unfortunate accident for myself). The room did not have dishes and utensils. There are more grievances but I think this is enough.

We had reasonable hotel expectations for a two week vacation, this hotel seemed to be decent value for its convenient location. I have a large family so I booked one of the quad bed suites. The room was okay, I did not expect the beds to be that small and the bathroom was a squeeze also. I tried to use the safe to store my passports but it just wouldnt work (error on the keypad). Breakfast was hit and miss, some days they served decent local dishes, I cant recommend booking your stay with breakfast but if you just want to have simple continental style food, go ahead. I want to give higher marks, but it just falls short in all aspects except for the staff - they are courteous and polite.

the malayan plaza staff are awesome - from the doorman, to the receptionists, and the buffet staff - everyone's so friendly and helpful. location is also great - so close to everything - shops, restaurants, malls, transportation. but if you are looking for comfort, this is not the place . the hotel needs major renovations. don't let the photos fool you . although the rooms are clean - it's so outdated. they can't even provide you with new towels. floors are also falling apart, i love to go back to this place coz its so convenient if you have to go places but until they renovate it, i'll probably look for a better one.

Good value and conveniently located for Robinson & SM mega mall, also local metro station. Staff are excellent. Three minor moans, 1) if you go for breakfast after 0900 your choice of what to eat will be limited so get up! 2) if room 1908 is typical, then the internal decor is beginning to show its age 3) If you want utensils, don't assume that you will get what you expect. If you want two bowls, ask for them. None of these are deal breakers for me & I would happily stay here again.

The room is decently sized and clean, the free water inside the fridge was appreciated. I expected basic cookware to be provided (i.e. pans and pots at least) but there was none. The bathroom is horrible, it's tiny and the shower door looks like it might fall off every time you move it.

My sister had planned on booking a room here but when i showed her the bathroom she immediately changed her mind. Improve your bathroom and you will get more people booking your rooms.

It looks like nobody is checking the conditions of the rooms and service. Started with a room with Lester leaks, ended up in a room with curtains not closing. All I got is I am sorry every time I talk to staff. The lights are dark. Can’t see yourself in the bathroom mirror. I just love the location. There are better hotels around the area at lesser rate. Towels are very old and are already grayish in color. Somebody needs to reevaluate their service and room conditon to be fair.

My stay here was for a 1 night stay at this condotel. Check-in was not as quick as expected, but there were a lot of people waiting for their rooms to be checked by staffs before check-out, so had to wait until the normal check-in time of 3pm. They just need to improve on their check-out process. The room was big and cleaned (a little dated, but was ok by my standards). Aircon worked good and WiFi was good too. Breakfast was a let-down, almost every hot item was really cold and greasy, not much of anything as far as items and the resto staff needs further training.

Unit is spacious, enough to fit 4 adults or 2 adults and 2 kids. But the design and finishing a little bit old.

Location is perfect, near to atm, shopping malls (with few halal restaurants), starbuck. Most importantly, it is safe to walk around the area.

Traffic is really bad around the area, especially during peak hours. So to get Grab during peaks hours may take longer.

The hotel location, the room space, the staff are excellent but the facility condition is not so great. I found some cockroaches in the room, 2 bed lamps were busted, the water heater was kind of difficult to regulate that I had scalding the first time I took shower. The published rates are kind of expensive, but the bargain rate was worth it. I will consider staying again in the hotel if without better option.

Checkout was amazingly slow. The hotel can best be described as an apartment residential block with a tacked on hotel foyer/ frontage.Guest relations need improving - guests do come in all shapes, sizes and colour- don't be selective on clientele; we all pay the due rates.
Two things going for this hotel - a) the location, b) the buffet breakfast

Low quality hotel

Terrible hotel, dirty toilets, not friendly hospitality and security staff. Worn out rooms, quality of toiletries not fit for use. Nothing to be happy about, except the location.

Bad quality hotel, not worth it.

Staff not friendly, intimidates guests and keeps asking for room number overtime you pass through the doors. Dirty, old, worn out rooms, hair from previous guests not removed on toilet floors, aircon not blowing cold air that matches the settings. Food is so so. The only plus factor is its proximity to ortigas center amenities.
