I loved our stay at this hotel. It’s conveniently located in the middle of town. It’s so easy to get to everything from this hotel. The room was clean and comfortable though simple. There is a restaurant at the hotel for convenience and also a roof top bar. Though during our stay it didn’t seem much was going on there. The only negative thing I have to say about this hotel is that one of the rooms we stayed in had a bad sewage smell. We stayed in two different rooms and it was only one that had this issue. Overall we loved it here so convenient and you can’t beat that price!

There was very loud music from the bar on the first floor that made sleeping difficult. Although the hotel is called a bed and breakfast, we were told no breakfast was available and there are very limited options for restaurants open before 9:00 or 10:00 AM. The shower did not get warm at all and there was standing water on the bathroom floor, as the drain was not positioned correctly. There was quite a bit of traffic and noise from the street as well. If you are looking for peace and quiet, this is not the place.

This is the perfect starting home base in Phuket if you are trying to visit the local shops and clubs. You can get anything you need nearby. The hotel has a great party at the hotel with live music so expect that there will be noise until around 1am but common your going to be at the party and the other clubs and restaurants in the area that some are open past 5am. After 1am the noise is not bad at all and I slept great. I would for sure stay here again very clean safe place to stay. The style of the hotel is also so much fun.

I booked this property to visit Sunday market at Old Phuket Town and it served the purpose well. Walkable distance in the town everywhere from
sunday markets, Sino-european buildings and small shops & restaurants. We booked a family room of 2 double beds and it was quite spacious for a faimily of 3. The staffs were kind and ready to help however they are not always present at the desk. You can still reach out to them through whatsapp and they respond quickly.
Downside would be
- there’s no elevators
(our room was on 4th and thanksfully the staffs helped us to bring them up; but wish I should have known this as I got injured recently and have pains for using stairs); and

- little to no windows in the room so it was pretty dark.

I also read from the review that the interior was basically none with cements & water pipes, however the setting didn’t bother me. On contrary very unique (and love the check in desk which is a car)

Overall, not bad considering the price and if you want to stay a short term for old town. But if any issue with stairs (or big luggages); or dark place (despite not being a claustrophobia), it may not be your best choice

If you are looking for a vintage stay then Quip is right for you. Me and my wife enjoyed staying in Quip. Little Noisy at night because of live music but it wasn't problem for us. Room have sufficient space, hangers. TV is large and have wifi connected. Me and my partner enjoyed Youtube and Netlix.
Staff are very nice and helpful.
We will come back again.

Sleepless in Phuket

We were kept awake by extemely loud music from downstairs on both nights of our stay, until after 2.15am. In addition, the air conditioning was not effective and our room was very hot and stuffy. The bed was knackered and needed replacing. Its a shame as the hotel appears quirky, relaxed and fun with great decor and great location, but unfortunately we were left tired, hot and uncomforable. We would not stay here again.

I booked this hotel because it's listed as a \"bed and BREAKFAST\" except once you get here you find out that the rooftop restaurant is closed - permanently - and there is no breakfast. At all. The hotel is also so bare-bones that there is virtually no one to help or to whom you can ask a question as tourists are want to do from time to time. If, like me, you need a breakfast and cofffe straight away in the morning, or think you may want to ask for directions or suggestions about something, this is not the hotel for you. If you are totally self-sufficient and don't mind fending for your own coffee and eggs, then the Quipp is fine.

The hotel is located in the perfect area. There are many shops and restaurants at walking distance. The staff were very friendly, polite and helpful. We were able to rent a motobike from the lobby.
The breakfast was not great- no variety and unhygienic, it was included in the price however so cant complain.
Really enjoyed our stay here, we would stay again.

Overall the room we stayed in was nice and clean and located centrally. However when we entered the bathroom it reeked of cigarettes, due to the lack of ventilation in the bathroom the smell remained there for the following two nights that we stayed. The “continental breakfast” was also very disappointing as it only consisted of toast, one type of cereal, juice and coffee. So that is something to be aware of.

When booking, we liked that this places seemed fairly simple but nice. However, when we arrived, we found that the conditions of the facilities were quite poor. Hard as rock beds (like sleeping on the floor) and very average bathroom layout and cleanliness.

The hotel was pretty quirky, definitely for a younger crowd as there was also a club downstairs. Room pretty spacious and good value for money. Breakfast also very basic. Only downside was the music from the club could still be heard from the 4th floor until 2am and there are no lifts inside.

Hotel is nicely located near a lot of cafes. We loved the room except that we had 5 people and had to pay for the extra person charges yet no additional bed was given. Also had to request for extra towels and pillows.

We loved the pool table too. One thing to note is that the hotel does not have lifts. So staying on the top level (4) might be a problem for some. The drain for the shower also kept getting clogged towards the end of our stay.

Overall the hotel room was perfect, we loved the movie channel and the room layout! Perfect for a group of friends or family. If only more beds can be added because the room was quite spacious.

Really not happy! There is a club at the ground floor that won't let you sleep until 1am. Try to get the highest floor (the 4th) to get away from the noice. The mattress is so hard that you will wake up in pain (all rooms have the same mattress apparently). Stained bed sheets. My pillow was smelling of sweat despite the clean cover. The bathroom is poorly paved and the water from the shower ended up all over the places instead of flowing into the drainer. The staff is really demotivated and careless. No laundry service. The room features a nice modern industrial design. Impossible to even attempt touching the blinds... all the ropes are messed up and you will end up messing them even more! The safe box stopped working and they had to open it with its special key. However every key is numbered and associated to a certain room. Unfortunately my safe had already been moved from a different room and the staff took almost one hour to find the proper key. Great location. Recommended for those people who party until 1am or later.

In urgent need of soundproofing.

If the first thing the hotel staff told you was that the room was next to the pub so it could be loud at night, you knew then that it was not a good start. Our first night went with a bang literally. We could hear awful dance music until 1 am. The second night was better, thanks to a group of Chinese tourists who.staged a mini protest about the noise from the pub. So, the pub turned down the volume a bit. Seriously, if the hotel would like to secure more guests in the future, it needs to soundproof every room. Otherwise, I couldn't see any points of coming back.

Note that despite being called Quip Bed & Breakfast, breakfast is NOT included. We stayed for 3 nights and really didn't get much sleep. The rooftop bar is open until 1am and the rooms are not sound proof at all. If we had known there was a bar above we would not have stayed here.
Hotel staff did not give us new water after each day. Overall, customer service is poor. There are no smiles to greet you as you walk in. Staff just seem to be sitting at the desk on Facebook. Wifi throughout the hotel and in the rooms is very patchy.

Quip is in a great spot if you're looking to walk around Phuket Old Town. Otherwise I wouldn't recommend and I certainly won't be returning.

Quip Bed and No-Breakfast

I chose this place because it was the cheapest of the budget friendly options I was looking at, but def should've spent the extra $5-10 bucks staying somewhere else.

1) We booked a room with a view and they tried to give us a room with no windows. We complained and they changed our room; view is w/e.
2) 500 baht cash deposit for your key card - I understand the deposit part, but they should really charge this on a card. This was my last hotel stay in the area before flying to a different country and I didn't really want 500 extra baht on me.
3) It says they have laundry included as a hotel service, but they don't so that should be removed from the description.
4) Breakfast wasn't included with our booking, but we went to check out the breakfast anyway because they said we could pay ourselves. All they serve is toast with jam and plain cereal - not much of a breakfast, and they def are overcharging for that.
5) Loud music both upstairs and downstairs through the night; kept my husband up every night.
6) They wouldn't give us more water when we first asked, but we were told this was included as well. We had to ask three different staff at three diff times before we got our water.
7) The room comes with a mini-fridge, but the electric in the room is controlled through the keycard. If you are storing things in the fridge, but then leave your room, your fridge will turn off when you take the key card out of the electric plug. You only get one key card per room.

Clean & modern hotel in old town

Great central location to Old Town Phuket. Loads of little shops, bars, and eateries within minutes walking distance. The facility is really neat and modern. Great rooftop bar which was nice to hangout on in the evenings to cool off. Near a busy intersection so if you're a light sleeper may not be a great option. Also beds are very firm.

Terrible check in reception staff, it took them 2 hours to figure out how to use expedia reservations and my husband had to help them because we were so frustrated and didn't understand why she couldn't find our reservation. They thought we booked through another website. They never checked in with us to let us know if we were all set to go. We contacted Expedia twice and hotel reception kept hanging up on expedia. The coffee bar staff was amazing, so was the hotel busboy and sky lounge workers. But I will never return to this hotel. The bed is hard and had burnt cigarette holes through sheets.

Close to eateries, popular old town shopping on Thalang Rd., 5 minute walk to Trick eye museum, some Chinese temples in the area and close to convenience stores also 5 minute drive to Central Festival shopping mall. The hotel itself was quite quirky but beware the bathroom is wet room. Breakfast is limited to toast, tea, coffee, jam better of elsewhere. Staff speak very little English. Good luck!

This is the most terrible experience I have met.
Bk this trip through expedia.com. Paid for a quip family suite upon chk in hotel staff said room was full offered a 2 bedroom instead for 3 person.
Ask the staff why the room is full still accept booking.
Brush off explanation as its the management issue.
2nd is there is no lift to the room.We 3 ladies have to carry our own luggage of 12kg to 4th storey.The staff did not offer to help.
Tolietries strictly no toothbrush.
Will not stay in this hotel anymore

Amazing little place

We lived our stay here for three nights. The location is perfect, centrally located in Phuket near all the sights and cool neighborhoods. The room is decorated really well and the cleanliness was unmatched. I got really sick during this trip and this room was amazing to relax in a clean and comfortable space! The staff was pretty unhelpful though, and we felt like each time we asked them for help or suggestions they tried to sell their services to us and were rude at times.

Location is central to Phuket Town

The hotel is situated in the heart of phuket town, close to everything within walking distance. The only problem i find is the staff friendliness and the restaurant waiters. We sat down at 8:55 pm and saw the promo for happy hour which ends at 9 pm. For 5 min we sat at the dinning area and the waiter just stand around not attending to us. We call the waiter over at 9 pm and he said sorry, already pass the time therefore can't use the happy hour promo. I asked him to go back to the manager and he walked back to ask, the clock no shows 9:01 pm. He came back and stern face and told us no more promo cause already pass the time.
The room is fine, bare minimum and no frills, my wife was disappointed cause it's quite bare but the room is clean. Our room is facing the main road so the noise maybe an issue, it seems to settle down around before midnight. Had some rowdy hotel occupants, and because it's all concrete bare flooring, the sound seems to echo and particularly loud.
In previous review there not much mentioned about staff, but we find the staff not so friendly,

Great coffee shop, cool rooftop bar (I know, they stink in general) But on this roof, you can lie in a net over running water. Cooling effect? Weird? Trendy? Beats the pillows and low stools. Rooms were super-Spartan, but in a cool, brushed concrete / clean minimalistic sort of way. Like an apartment in a CyberPunk novel. Staff were 11 out of 10. Helpful, funny, kind. EVERYTHING YOU WANT A HUMAN BEING TO BE! Breakfast was mediocre, but the coffee shop serves real food, cheap, so that's OK too. No elevator, so lug your bag up four flights with no A/C. But A/C in room was fine.

The rooms is quite clean. The hotel is located in the middle of Phuket city, therefore it is easy to access to take the sight seeing.

There is free drink for hotel guest. Unfortunately, this gift provided per booking (I booked 1 rooms for 2 nights) I suggest you to book 2 bookings to get 2 drinks ;)

Please aviod stay on the 2nd floor because it is the walk way to sky bar, so many people walked pass and may interfere your sleep.

The decoration is cool and hip style suitable for photo snaping.

Less variety of breakfast. No escaltor no lift and no parking ;)

This is one of the top places I ever stayed at. The room was absolutely brilliant, super clean, great bed and huge shower. Breakfast though simple still did the job. The staff were absolutely amazing helping us in any way possible. They even went to Patong town to get some money for us that one travel agent owed us. Not even tourist police was able to help. Huge thanks to Tan and Job:-) If possible make sure you try their sky bar and restaurant downstairs. Thank you Quip hotel for an amazing stay.

One night stopover after a flight

Just stayed here for one night to get to the pier to Koh Phi Phi. The room was nice and modern, though I would have preferred the mattress to not be on the floor. The hotel overall was nice and modern with retro/vintage décor, and I enjoyed the continental breakfast in the lobby area. The staff were really helpful and offered me a taxi from one of their staff to the pier. The rooftop bar was really nice and offered great views of the city.
Not much other nightlife in the area, but good location for the pier.

Good place to stay to explore phuket town

Quirky hotel in the middle of Old Phuket Town. Fancy decoration throughout the hotel. More aimed at younger people (but not back packers). You can walk to Indi Market and one of the local markets as well as local shops and major bus stops. Although the area does not look fancy there are nice restaurants and cafés everywhere. The hotel itself has a modern rooftop bar which opens at night. There is not much of a breakfast: some cereals, toast, jam, coffee, tea and 1-2 types of fruit. Good place to explore the area and go on excursions. Away from the big tourist crowds.

Real quirkey hotel, very retro. And the price is very cheap and reasonable
Very good location, central for everything with tourist information next door to book trips. Breakfast basic but adequate and great value for money, would stay again and would recommend

Quirky and cute

Quirky place, full of character. The bedroom was confortable, the shower could be improved, as the toilets are wet rooms and the water from the showers stays in the floor around the toilet. Location wise is very convenient for who wants to visit the city itself.

Stark, but clean.

Sort of modern, funky construction and decor, but not to my liking. Decent location in town. Good restaurants nearby. Staff is varied from nice to surly.

Nice hotel but stay away from the eating there

Hotel overall was great with the exception of the broken toilet seat cover. It was never changed while I was there. Also, understanding English cannot be spoken by everyone but if they work in this field (hotel or restaurant) they must know English. The eating spit within the first floor the staff (especially waiter) was not good at all. Food took forever, order was not correct, waiter only knew the word \"ok\" meanwhile he had no English skills to speak of, etc. Plenty of costumers complained, cancelled their order or just left because it took too long. I recommend to hotel ONLY but not to eat there. There's plenty of places near by to eat decent food that won't take 30 minutes to get overeasy eggs. PS it doesn't come with toast! Yep, that killed it for me so I walked to the complementary \"breakfast\" (sliced bread, cereal, coffee and fruit, yes no tea either) and just grabbed a few slices of bread for my eggs. Another costumer ordered toast white bread and it took this waiter 15minutes to bring it, unreal!

Hipster Art Deco Hotel

This was a great little hipster hotel. We stayed here for a one night layover in route to the islands. The staff spoke limited English, but were really friendly. The hotel restaurant had good food in large portions. It's located on the rooftop with a neat water feature and reclining hammock style chairs. We would definitely stay here again!

Love the Quip, hated the shower

We really liked the Quip. The staff was accommodating, and the location was outstanding. I was a little annoyed that the website advertised \"Laundry and Dry Cleaning\" services, but they don't actually offer it. We had to walk around to find one. Also our shower was ice cold, but it weirdly added to our experience. The roof top bar was awesome. My husband and I loved the food and beer selection. It blew the cafe downstairs out of the water.

Convenient, modern hotel in Phuket town

The hotel is very modern and nice enough; it is simple but sufficient. You have, however, to like the blank-concrete style because otherwise the hotel rooms feel very industrial. The staff didn't speak very good english, but that was not a problem. It's very close to the old city and within walking distance from the bus station

Shower of excellence

The hotel is perfectly situated in the centre of phuket town and a very nice part. It has lots of inspiration artwork on the walls and is a very nice place to stay. The shower is the best part! It's a waterfall shower and a beautiful wet room always with hot water and cold

Great Location and Decor Hotel ...

Everything was perfect, Chicroom Cafe' is Super !!! Only thing need to complain is Wi-Fi signal very weak at my room (401) ... almost can't connect.

Nice and modern hotel

We stayed there for three nights and were really happy about it. The hotel is pretty new, the furniture and so on was nicely put together.
The room was quite big and in a modern style. Everything was clean, you had a big shower, a safe and they got you two big water bottles every day.
On top you get the small breakfast for free every day!

Huone oli siisti ja kompakti. Ilmastointi toimi hyvin. Sijainti hyvä, ei liikaa melua öisin mutta lyhyt kävelymatka kaikkialle. Suihkuveden sekoittaja ei toiminut joten oli vaikea saada sopivan lämpöistä vettä, tuli vain kuumaa tai kylmää. Respan henkilökunta mukavaa ja avuliasta. Ravintolat eivät olleet toiminnassa vierailumme aikana.
