This was one the most comfortable hotels I have recently stayed in. My room and the bathroom were both significantly bigger than the european average in this price category. Both were newly and beautifully renovated. Comfortable bed, plenty of storage. The staff at the reception desk was super friendly and accommodating in every respect.
The only small minus I would mention was the breakfast room. The breakfat buffet is ok, the room itself is ok, nothing stands out.

It’s was okay, we have to ask for room to be cleaned even we go out thy don’t clean it’s in till we back and ask for it’s Weil we are in the room. Toiletry products very poor. Soon we left the room thy locked and we couldn’t use Wi-Fi soon we left the room in our way to reception we block from wifi. So even if we want to use Wi-Fi just for 5 minutes to book uber we couldn’t weil we are still in the building and that very bad customer service. You should leave to hotel straight away from lift to the door. U can’t wait even 5 minutes to book a taxi or anything else. We have a baby with us and we just need to give him yogurt and asked them for spoon to feed him before we leave he was crying and we ask one guy in reception for spoon he said we don’t have even the restaurant front of us intill one of his colleagues ( lady) said I will get it’s for you . We felt not comfortable and not welcomed anymore in hotel like telling us leave now the way thy looked at us.no friendly or helpful for customers from abroad.so will not stay here again .

The pale is nice and clean. It is located very conveniently near the city centre and the staff are very professional. The rooms are small so don't expect to have a lot of space for your belongings. It's ok for a night but I would suggest you try and book the bigger rooms for longer stays

The location is great, walking distance to downtown and transportation. The room was too hot due to the old heating system, there is no way to control it. Outside is very loud due to drank people and trams. Couldn’t open windows at night because of the noise. The room was big and clean. The bed is comfortable. Keep in mind that to get to shower one needs to climb up the bath tub which can’t be suitable for older population, slippery, high, and unsafe.

ROOM HAD GOOD SIZE. Very nice and helpful lady at check in. They had allocated my request exactly, this is really appreciated and why I chose to stay in the Grand in Brno, as they have in past read and actioned my room request. I also like the Nespresso machine in room, a great cup of coffee to start day.

The Grand Hotel is very convenient if using the bus system in Czechia as it is across the street from the main station. Recommend adding the breakfast to room as it was a large buffet that included cook to order crepes!

Would Definitly Stay Here Again!

This hotel is really great and the rooms are better than the photos, I think. It's right across from the train station, and you can walk to all the historic sites very easy from it. The room was big with a comfortable bed, nice bedding, and a wonderful, old-time marble bathroom. Lots of space in the bathroom to set things, and a big bathtub plus shower combo.

The windows fully open in both bathroom and bedroom for fresh air, and the room was very quiet. Great restaurant downtstairs and good value for breakfast. They also have a really nice private sauna you can reserve.

I wish they would spruce up the historic bar with music, lighting, and a later closing time (closed at 9 PM) to make it more inviting.

It was challenging to park the car due to limited space at the front of the hotel. Once I paid upfront for the parking for the entire stay, I was informed that it might be that I will not get a spot due to the insufficient amount of spots for the guests, but I can park next to that reserved space and pay additionally the other owner of the rest of the parking. It is highly inappropriate that the guests who are required to pay for the parking spots are not guaranteed the space for their cars for the entire stay.

Close to bus and train station which is good if you will use that to your next destination but also means you might find it a bit rough outside the hotel doors.
Room was far down the corridor which meant extra stairs on that floor (odd design and not nice with heavy luggage) and meant internet was very weak. Had to go stand in the hallway to get decent signal.

First rate hotel - a bit rough around the edges

In general, my stay was good. However, management needs to adopt international concepts of customer service. When a problem comes up in a 4 or 5 star hotel, the only acceptable response is a simple apology and a promise of a prompt resolution. My issue was resolved but only after endless messaging, excuses qnd even a bit of arguing.

Whatever you do, do not eat at the hotel. Food was terrible and way overpriced. Many excellent restaurants are within walking distance. Hotel is run down from what I remember 20 years ago. To be fair they say they are renovating.

We really enjoyed our brief stay at the Grand Hotel in Brno. We took a Flexibus which dropped us off just across the street. The hotel is also conveniently located to many restaurants, shopping, and iconic sites of Brno so we found the location to be absolutely perfect!

The hotel is in an excellent location especially if you are not staying long and want everything on your doorstep. The staff are friendly and helpful but the hotel is in serious need of an update. The room was very old and the beds were pretty terrible. I felt also that it wasn't very clean. Bathroom had a very strange smell. There is no kettle in room for tea and coffee. Not sure how this is a 4 Star hotel.

An older large hotel across from the railway station, on the edge of the ‘old town’. Cross the street towards the railway station and you’re into a rundown, poor area. There are some homeless people milling about, although I didn’t feel unsafe. Unfortunately there is a casino as part of the hotel, with destitute local gamblers and ladies with very strong cheap perfume loitering. The room was small, the gym ok, and the breakfast good, staff polite.

This hotel seems to be in a state of renovation, and it's definitely needed. The furniture is old, the carpet is threadbare in some areas and the beds are very thin. The showers leaked all over the floor, the lights in the bathroom were unstable and would blink out. The lights in the hallway were also not on consistently, making for a very dark / unlit walkway. The fourth floor seems radically different than the rest of the hotel, so maybe try to stay there. On the plus side, the staff was nice, the included breakfast was buffet style and at least included hot food every day and the location of the hotel is super close to the tram line and main train station / bus station. Next time though, I will choose a different hotel. PS : The staff had no issue with me an English-only speaker and I appreciated that.

Hotel with a central location and good facilities

The staff are helpful and all speak perfect English, the facilities are on the whole good, and the location excellent, right opposite the main railway, bus and tram depots. It would have been a 5-star review apart from a few minor niggles:
- I was in a single room, which was fine apart from the bed being rather confined - with it placed in a corner, with a wardrobe across the foot. It was like sleeping in an alcove
- There was quite a bit of street noise in the room - not from the station and bus and tram depots - I was on the opposite side of the hotel, but from the club on the corner of the road behind the hotel. It got quiet a bit after midnight
- I was there for a week and the restaurant was closed in the evening the whole time - but open for breakfast. Whilst there are plenty of restaurants and cafes within easy walking distance, on the first night particularly, when I arrived latish and not knowing the area - it would have been nice to have that option (they were serving food in the bar)

Our room on the 1st floor was very noisy from people in the street outside. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet was excellent with plenty of variety.

The hotel is perfectly placed opposite the bus and train stations, and near lots of shops and restaurants. The staff at check-in were very friendly and welcoming. The room was spacious and clean. I fully intend to return to Brno in the near future and will definitely choose Grandhotel again next time.
