I have stayed here a few times in the past, first time I was back for 10 years, and it has been totally redone! It is nice but, there is a shower in the bedroom? Why does anyone think this is a good idea! The shower is in the bedroom. So the bedroom is steamy, there is no privacy, it is madness! It’s a great hotel, close to the centre, friendly staff but practical trumps funky design.

Hotel reformado. Lo mejor la ubicacion y la variedad del desayuno. Lo peor, y que tenga cuidado la gente que se hospede y llegue de noche, que el restaurante (aun a pesar de anunciar el cierre a las 10pm para comidas frias) se niega a darlas argumentando que eran las 9.30am por el responsable del restaurante. Toda la cocina en R. Checa cierra a las 9pm y confiabamos en el recurso del hotel que se anuncia. Nos ayudó a comida rapida la recepcionista en el centro de la ciudad, no obstante. Pero repito no hubo gentileza del restaurante

The hotel is very close to the center, and almost everything was fine. Great breakfast. Very nice roomsize.
We had trouble sleeping due to children running and crying in the room above. We could also hear water running from other rooms. So it is very loud like many other hotels.
The hotel has paid parking, but there is also free parking outside on Saturdays and Sundays. When we asked about the outside parking the staff only talked about the paid parking. So they clearly wanted to sell that.

The breakfast was excellent -- wide choice, excellent coffee machine. The room was small, but perfectly adequate. The internet was weak, and non-existent in the breakfast room. The shower had a real problem with water temperature. First 3 days, scalding hot, no way to change it (I think the temperature dial didn't work). The last 2 days -- very variable from hot to cold. The air-conditioner was a bit noisy (old?) but I was so grateful to have it, given the temperatures outside. When I first arrived, after a long journey, and went to the restaurant at 8:50 pm, I was told the restaurant had closed already, while standing in front of a sign that said it closed at 10 pm and showing the sleeve of my room key that also said it closed at 10 pm. I asked whether I could at least have a beer, so they let me do that. Then a guy came in and the very same waiter who told me they were closed took his order! I understood enough Czech to know absolutely that is what was happening, so I called the waiter over saying I was now going to insist on ordering. And I was allowed to order, with no further comment from him. On the positive side, this hotel was only 8 minutes walk from my conference.

We had pleasant stay. Our bus arrived in Brno in early morning. Hotel Continental allowed us Checked in at about 7:30AM. We appreciate their help. The location of the hotel is the best, convenient to all the attractions in walking distance. The room is comfortable. The breakfast is with rich choices. We'll come back for sure.

Good but room for improvement

Great location a few minutes from the old town. Very helpful, pleasant staff. Decent but not amazing breakfast offer. The air con (great) has a display which is very bright at night, so either you don't have a properly dark room or you have a room that's too hot. This isn't ideal. The pillows were also very soft and I struggles with these.

A good stay overall, but for not that low price

The suite was in generally good condition and the cleanliness was flawless. The orange style of the suite though was rather questionable, same goes for rather old fashioned corridors.
Staff was super friendly and helpful and the breakfast was perfect.
The only minor issue was rather unstable and cold water in the shower.
The location of the hotel is great.

Very good hotel in the city centre

Continental means for me a very good price : service ratio. The room was clean, with two bottles of free water and minibar for reasonable price.
Breakfast of large choice with really nice and helpful staff around.
It would be great to have wellness or pool on site but I understand it's probably impossible to implement as the building is under architectural protection.
It's also a pity and sad that the hotel logo on the roof is it lighting any more.

Good place close to Old Town

Walk 5-10 minutes and you are in the Old Town. Garage and good breakfast included in my stay.
Small, but practical room with balcony on the 7th floor. 3 good elevators - no waiting time ;-)
Efficient a/c that also works when you leave the room. Very nice to come back to a cool room, when there are 36° outside....
Nice, helpful staff. Checkout until 12.00.

A jewel in the heart of Brno

Outstanding hotel at a great location in Brno. Knowing that next day would be rainy, we headed out for a memorable night stroll around old town. By far the best hotel in our 10 day trip to Eastern Europe. Elegant, comfortable room with every desired amenity, free underground parking, delicious buffet breakfast, all topped by excellent service all around.

Book the superior rooms!

I upgraded to superior room as the regular rooms are basic and very dated. The superior rooms are modern, well-appointed, and beds very comfortable and very supportive. Also the high floor rooms to the south have a great view! I slept so well here. Very happy with my stay. Only one problem - breakfast ends at 10 and by 9:40am nothing hot was left at the buffet. It was a Sunday morning so as a weekend buffet more food should have been made available because not everyone wants to eat at 7 or 8am.

Skvělý hotel v centru Brna kousek od starého města je vhodný jak pro cestování za byznysem, tak pro turistiku. Cena odpovídá kvalitě ubytování, resp. je ve velmi dobrém poměru cena-kvalita. Pokoje jsou čisté a velmi prostorné. Hotelové pokoje jsou velmi komfortně zařízené a pěšky se dostanete téměř kamkoliv. My jsme měli větší pokoj v osmém patře s úžasným výhledem na Špilberk a věže starého města. Výborní snídaně a měli jsme štěstí na parkování zdarma. Děkuji personálu, který byl velmi vstřícný a ochotný.

I had a good experience at the Hotel Continental. I stayed here for 4 nights to attend a conference at Masaryk University, which is really close to the hotel. The location of the hotel is ideal to visit Brno’s landmarks on foot. The hotel definitely has a sixties vibe, but the rooms are clean are renovated. I stayed on the 12th floor and enjoyed a lovely panoramic view of the city. Although the room amenities are basic, they are sufficient. I appreciated the ample wardrobe, coffee maker, kettle, and minibar in the room. The hair dryer was not working, but it was not a big deal for me. They also provided robes and slippers, which I appreciated. The staff at the front desk were always polite, helpful, and responsive and spoke English.
I appreciate the private sauna rooms, which are available at a moderate cost. I do not think this is an expensive hotel at all, so it’s great value. Is it worthy of 5 stars? Probably not, if compared to other upscale hotels like the Barcelo. However, I’d definitely recommend this hotel for solo travelers, and would probably stay here again when I’m back in Brno.

A Very Pleasant Stay

A very pleasant stay in Brno. The hotel is a very short walk to the old town and a 15 minute walk to the main train station. Very professional service. Room looked to be newly renovated (in a very orange motif), clean with a comfy bed. Excellent wifi and a decent breakfast. I would definitely stay there again when I am next in Brno.

Nice newly renovated 70’s design. Great location on the edge of downtown.

In the other hand the service was just ok. Daily housekeeping was not thorough - borderline lazy. Breakfast was ok - but why don’t they have regular scrambled eggs? That’s like the #1 item on a breakfast menu and they had just sunny side up.

I would stay again overall.

The deluxe rooms are quite modern and spacious - essentially two of the regular rooms, I think. The room had televisions in each room and a small monitor in the bath. The hallways were really quite bleak, however, and the lobby was uncharacteristically warm. Nice staff and underground parking.

Room was very clean with good facilities. Slightly on the small size. Bathroom was excellent. Bed was very uncomfortable; had a hard base. Good breakfast with real variety of choice. One of the reception staff let themselves down by consistently talking to the housekeeping staff whilst supposedly dealing with me. Not exactly professional.

Not good reading..,,

The hotel communal areas were fubky, however the rooms were very Butlins like chalets, no relation to 5star residence, staff were very cold and not very welcoming, no nightclub as advertised, breakfast was poor, staff were uninterested in giving good service. I would go to the extent to say we We actually felt we were not welcome and were putting the staff out !!!

the bed didn't seem clean when we got there, a few of the many lights in the room didn't work, they didn't replace our empty tissue box the second of our four day stay, the elevator was loud every time it ran all night (we were right next to it), the in room safe didnt work, the fan in the bathroom didnt work, the included breakfast was served in what felt like a school cafeteria, and checking out was made extremely complicated because their internet was down and they couldn't process our credit cards. I ended up having to get cash out, and they wouldn't even pick up the taxi after delaying us more than half an hour, making us have to take a later train than we had planned. their WiFi was inconsistent the whole time too.

The bed was reasonably comfortable, once we removed the crumbs the first night. The setup of the room was good, and I enjoyed the view from the window. They are doing construction on a few of the lower floors, which wasn't really a problem, but did seem to add to the dust.

Modern Hotel Near Old Town

This is a large modern hotel just outside the old town. It’s on the opposite side of town as the train station, so a bit of walk, but the town is not so big. The room was spacious, modern, clean and comfortable. There’s a great breakfast. My room had a beautiful view of the old town.

Overnight business trip because you can't fly there and back in a day with Ryanair from Stansted. Nothing at Brno airport by the way and you might have to call for a taxi. Hotel nice and quiet, good breakfast, short walk to town centre, has a bar/restaurant (still can't get over the smoking in public areas though), comfortable but I was only there a short time.
