DO NOT BOOK THROUGH EXPEDIA! They are liars, I booked this hotel very far in advance with enough time to modify but neither expedia or the hotel would modify the reservation. They kept blaming each other until I eventually had to pay for the entire stay and was no longer allowed to modify. The hotel let me know this was a common occurence via expedia.

The hotel was subpar and I would not stay there again.

Nice hotel overall, and very nice staff both at the desk and restaurants. Good location, easy parking. My lower rating on service is based on the experience after the stay. The Hotel Melia sends a ton of emails, but when I needed help with a left bag, they never replied. Not to phone calls or emails. Pretty annoying when the rep from the hotel emails me asking for a review, but can't respond to my email after 4 days, and 2 calls. That is where the poor service was.

The hotel was superb. It is in easy walking distance to several beaches, the old city, and the harbor with its many nice ocean front bars and neighborhoods. We had booked a room with ocean view, and it did not disappoint. The breakfast buffet was excellent and plentiful. The hotel is clean, the staff was courteous, the pool area was very nice, and the hotel bar was well equipped. We would stay here again any time.

From the moment we arrived, to the morning we left we were greeted with warmth and professionalism.
The room was perfect, with a great shower room, very comfortable bed and view. The buffet breakfast had just about everything you could ask for and again the staff were always friendly and professional. The location of the hotel was perfect for the beach and town. When we returned to our room the chamber staff had ensured are room was as clean and tidy as it was on our first day. Another person on holiday asked why we hadn’t chosen an Air B&B, but we would never have got the high class of service and all the above mentioned service. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay so special and we will be sure to be returning.

Nice and lean property just by the beach but walking distance to centre. The only negative thing I can think of is that the coffee shop doesn’t open until 9. It’s quite a walk to the nearest other coffee shop.

The property was very clean and modern and the staff was incredibly attentive. Our view from our balcony was absolutely incredible. And we were able to watch the sunrise from it. It wasn’t the closest Walt to the center of town but also wasn’t too far.

The receptionist called Faus was excellent. He organised a great room 271 for us. Unfortunately the Aircon didn’t work properly and the room was very hot. Housekeeping sent an engineer who replaced the filter and he told us that the room would cool down in 30 minutes.
We went out for dinner and came back at eleven to a very hot and stuffy room.
After enduring an uncomfortable night I told the female receptionist about the Aircon when we were checking out in the morning. She couldn’t have cared less. I also emailed the Melia hotel and haven’t heard back.
I’ll spend my money elsewhere.

Very average hotel not deserving of a 4 star rating. Basic gym, staff was in most cases quite unhelpful and misleading at reception (not clear on parking costs etc - and not able to explain random room charges).

On our 1st and 2nd night, we did not have any hot water in our room... hotel did little to make up for it... very poor for a 4 star hotel you are paying £150 a night for. Parking was also told to be charged on a per min basis - fine, but we did not have our car for the full time yet was still charged for the duration of our stay at 26euros a day.

Food in hotel is okay... nothing great and quite basic and fairly expensive for what it is when loads of restaurants just 5 mins walk away offering exceptionally fresh food and much lower prices.

Would I stay again? Not really... having been my first Meila hotel stay, this will probably be my last.

Cuando hicimos el check in, no nos informaron que el lunes a las 6 am debido al festival de cine, teniamos q sacar el coche de la calle donde lo teníamos aparcado. Sabian q el lunes a las 12 pm nos ibamos. Incluso al hacer el check-in preguntamos por plazas de parking y la recepcionista Silvia nos alento q aparcáramos en la calle, que se podía aparcar sin problemas. El lunes al mediodía salimos y el coche no estaba. Lo habia llevado la grua. La multa fue el equivalente a otra noche de hotel. Muy mala asistencia de parte de la recepcionista al hacer el check-in. Nos tendria q haber avisado y hubiéramos contratado el servicio de parking.

I would say with value of money average facilities. Staff specially in restaurant area was not very welcoming and friendly.There was electricity outage as well during my stay and elevator was not working. I didn’t use their minibar but got the bill on my credit card which I am still debating with them to give me the explanation why they charged me for this?

Staying at Melia Sitges was a great experience. Very comfortable rooms. Great room service and facilities. Staff are really helpfull. It is 20 min walk to the city center and its difficult to find taxi or transport options after midnight, you should consider this if you want nightouts.

Superb hotel in fantastic location, right next to Balmins beach and easily walkable into San Sebastián and Sitges town.

Room was lovely, great size with excellent balcony and lovely bathrooms. Serviced daily.

Breakfast was fantastic with huge selection of everything, freshly cooked food, fruits, pastries, cold meats and cheeses, breads, cereals, yoghurts and much more.

Very friendly and helpful staff, great pool area and fantastic choice of food and beverages around the pool.

Would definitely stay here again. Excellent hotel overall

Sitges is a chill city.. we liked the hotel as it is conveniently located around 20 mins from the center. The walk can be a bit tough as it is hilly but it is nice to see the coast while walking to the hotel. The staff at the hotel are so nice and helpful. The room view is amazing and the rooms are generally clean and comfortable.

Terrible experience checking in. Asked for double or king size bed, at check in and was told we’d have to upgrade. Do we did. When we got our room it was not an upgrade , 2 single beds looking out on a roof. Eventually we got the room with a king bed.. then the safe did not work. Took hours and repeated calls to get someone to fix it.

Lovely hotel and stay in Sitges.

Lovely sea.view room with balcony. Large bed plus sofa bed for teen daughter. All comfortable and with 3 pillow choices! Clean spacious bathroom with shower.
Minibar (payable) complimentary bottles of water each day. Maid service and freah towels daily. We checked in early and could leave our cases and were given pool towels to enjoy the facilities straight away. The pool is a good size but could have been cleaner as water often looked dirty and the pool has mouldy tiles around the sides.
We paid for buffet breakfast which had a great choice, hot and cold.
We purchased drinks and ice cream from the little van at the pool which was convenient.
The only disappointment was with the lunch menu...the sandwiches and fries looked good but only had meat enquired whether we could have a vegetarian option such as cheese but were told no so we only had fries.
Overall a lovely stay with helpful staff close enough to main Sitges town.

To start with the check in was a nightmare. They couldn’t find the booking. After 30 min or so they found it. My room was not ready so they gave me towels to get access to the pool while waiting. When I came back for my keys they had lost the paperwork!!!! After signing a document again the room nightmare started. I booked a family junior suite and they gave me a king size and a couch . My brother upgraded to the same and he did get one king and individuals, exactly as described on their website. I complained as it showed on the website what a family junior suite is. No one cared. The main bathroom was clogged and I took a video . We went for dinner and when we came back the couch was still a couch with no sheets. I had to go downstairs because of course the phone in the room didn’t work well. Around 1 am the sheets came. For $860 a night!!! This is my first experience of a Melia in Europe. In Latin America it has always been good.

I enoyed the visit to Sitges and wanted to book a one night in the area. I chose Melia because of their reputation. I was happy that I did. It was the perfect location for me and steps from the beach I wanted to visit. Property was secure and the view was spectacular. I will return here.

The stay at the Melia Sitges I booked through Expedia was more than disappointing. It’s rated 4 star on Expedia and the place was filthy. When I checked in I was given a room that had been smoked in. As I was about to call desk the cleaning staff came in with an air filter. I’m asthmatic and that’s not gonna get that musty smoke filled smell out in time in order to avoid a crisis. So the front desk changed my room. In the new room I hadn’t noticed the air conditioning vent when I entered room. But in the morning in noticed there was what appeared to be black mold/mildew on and around vents and also on the shower ceiling. I reported it to management and she assured me it would be rectified. Vent was replaced and cleaned. However, when I went to take shower later, in order to keep my balance, I leaned on wall with dark tile and discovered the dark tile wall was also filthy with what appeared to be mold/mildew that got on my hand. Do they think at Melia just because the tile is dark you they have to clean it? Do I have to specify everything that needs to be cleaned? The place is disgusting… all the hallway carpets are filthy and stained.... If you can’t clean the stain replace the carpet!!!

This is the only hotel to stay in Sitges. Great breakfast, central air conditioning, amazing shower, beautiful pool and pool area, and all rooms have a great size balcony, close enough to town but not in the middle of the party. Great walkable restaurants in the marina and next to Balmins beach. The train station is just a 15min walk. You also have a supermarket 10min away.

We absolutely loved our stay at the MELIA Sitges. The staff are pleasant, the room is comfortable, the food and service is good and the location is great.

If I could point to one small improvement it would be to provide a kettle to guests. We did ask for one at reception but we’re informed it would cost an extra €10 per night (€40 for a 4 night stay!) When you’re paying nearly €200 per night it leaves a slightly sour taste being asked to pay extra for something basic like a kettle.

Other than this minor complaint it was a faultless experience, and I would definitely return.

The hotel was perfect in every way, from Paul on reception (who sorted out some of Expedia’s mess ups) to the poolside food which was exceptional.
My tip… book direct with the hotel, expedia are absolutely useless. Would like to fight over my incorrect room and bill, but really don’t have the energy.
If you take one tip from my review, run from Expedia !

When I checked in I have to pay for the 3 rd person eventhough I have already did paid for 3
The next day when I went to the beach I came to room my 3 bed and my stuff was gone. Just because I have no luggage there they assume we not there. They put out stiff into garbich
We call management IRENE she said I don’t know.
I don’t know where your stuff is. I said where is t Lego and book and my chargers so me clothes. She said I don’t know
They did not apologize neither of this.
They replace Lego for 10$ instead of 50$
When I said what u goin to do about it she said I don’t know it’s not her fault she said.
Irene the manager doesn’t know how to manage the place.
More over she asked me to pay for a 3 rd person 3 more night. I said I already paid you the first time I checked in
What can I say stay else’ where service is really bad.

Great views and nice property. They were doing some construction and building of new tables which created some drilling noise. A few blocks and you can get shops and restaurants and the views were great. This was offseason but the pool was cold, so skipped the swimming during a nicer warm day.

The hotel sits in a residential area above the port. Take the time to go down there to have drinks or dinner. A relaxed non tourist area. Felt more local. Yes, a short walk into town with views of sea, staff wonderful, pool was not crowded, chairs always available. Rooms clean and spacious. Excellent common areas to relax in. The hotel carpet in hallways need replacement and we felt the landscape and grass around the pool area needed maintenance.

Very nice hotel, staff very friendly, only bad thing i would say is Airconditioner not working very well in the room, the room is a nice size and bed very comfortable.
Beautiful area lots of restaurant and beach walking distance from hotel. We would be back.

We stayed for a week and this hotel was a great base. Reception dealt with us quickly on both arrival and departure. Room was what we expected with toiletries, fresh towels and it was clean with easy access to lifts. Excellent breakfasts with lots of choice and a glass of cava if you wanted it. The egg station was very good and the omelettes fluffy and delicious. We ate in the restaurant one lunch time and the menu was varied and the food excellent. The man who did the beds around the pool was very attentive and always there to help with anything. The sun beds were comfortable and the pool clean and lovely for a quick dip. There were lots of showers around the pool and the surrounding gardens well tended. The cleaning staff were very thorough and our room was tidied up everyday. We found lots of short cuts in to town and used the walk in to get some exercise after a day of lazying around the pool and nibbling on their bar snacks. You could rent an electric scooter if you fancied it, we didn't.

Intrusive muzak in public areas detracts from a great hotel.
