I've stayed in quite a few hotels in İzmir and Istanbul... Riva Alsancak stands out. The room was super clean — no complaints whatsoever. But what really won me over was the location; you're right in the middle of Alsancak, one of the most vibrant parts of the city. Perfect base for exploring İzmir. Would 100% stay again.

Stayed at Riva Hotel Alsancak for a work trip and it ticked every box. The room was clean, quiet, and well-organized, exactly what you need after a long day of meetings. Staff were professional and friendly throughout, always happy to help without any fuss.
Parking was a welcome bonus because I could find in front of the hotel and next day they helped me to find — which is rare in central Alsancak. The hotel has a solid business-friendly setup overall. Efficient, comfortable, and well-located. Would confidently recommend to business travelers.

Checkin was seamless. The bathroom had not been cleaned. The floors and table top were also gross. We called and they sent a housekeeper to clean the bathroom, yet when we returned, it was still not to simple standards (hair on counter, stuff towards the back wall of the shower, etc). The location is amazing, though…. No view, but quick walk to ferry, food, shopping, etc.

The general manager of the hotel was nice and smart and seemed to be trying to hold a lot of things together. He was helpful and tried to make things better. The electricity was not working consistently. The elevator was not working a lot of the time. The refrigerator didn't work for some of the time. The phone never worked. The air conditioner turned off when the electricity was off, making the room unbearably hot. No way to call down to the reception except climbing several flights of stairs. The wifi didn't work for a few days. There was noisy construction going on a lot. Cleaning only happened after asking many times. Often they would promise cleaning would come and then they would not send anyone. On a number of occasions, I had to ask repeatedly for toilet paper to be delivered, and nearly ran out of toilet paper. Cigarette ashes from a previous guest clogged the bathroom sink making it unusable, as it would not drain properly.

Phone was not functioning from beginning of my stay, making me have to climb several flights of stairs to inform the front desk when my electricity was cut out due to construction. The room was cleaned only after several days of complaining. When the electricity was cut out, I was in the dark with no air conditioning on numerous occasions in very hot weather.

Hotel was non smoking, though I found ashes from cigarettes in the sink. The bathroom sink was flooding and unusable. The electricity was frequently out because of construction being done on the building. The cleaning people only came after much insisting with the front desk. The night time receptionist didn't speak English very well, and made it difficult to check out. The elevator worked inconsistently and sometimes required a multi flight walk up. Wifi Internet was unavailable for part of my stay. The location is great and the room had a kitchen. The main manager seemed very smart and seemed to be holding together a lot of moving parts. He was very helpful when he was available, and made the stay bearable.

We stayed in the Family Suite. It was very spacious and well fitted out. Cleaning and towel change daily with water supplied daily too. Within 5 minutes walk to main street with numerous restaurants, bars and shops. Within 10 minutes walk to seafront and ferry terminal. Although close to all amenities it is set in a quiet back street so noise is minimal. Staff were very freindly and helpful. If you are a smoker there is an allocated smoking area between the reception and the restaurant. We were room only but breakfast is available if you wish which looked very good. Would fully recommend a stay here and will definitely be returning.

The quality of this hotel is beyond what the reviews say! Ozan at the front desk was very friendly and helpful! He got us a taxi and suggested places to go and how to get there. The location is phenomenal! It is walking distance to everything. It is a 2 minute walk to Migros (supermarket) , 2 minutes from cafe's and restaurants, and 3 minutes from the beautiful pier. The room itself was very clean and spacious. I got the King bed Jr. Suite and it was so nice to have a full kitchen to cook meals in and the window seals are awesome for hanging out with coffee. You can spot so many cute kitties outside! Also on Sundays the farmers market sets up right in front of the hotel which is a wonderful experience. There's also an art museum that is a 4 minute walk that's worth experiencing. Overall best hotel I stayed at and I tried 4 different hotels on this trip. Best one in Izmir! I'd go back again!

This was definitely the worst experience I've ever had in a hotel. The staff was round. The receptionist was the worst of all. The highlight was when he called me at eleven thirty at night to tell me to go down to the reception to pay him. I can't describe to you in a few words what the man was telling me and in general how many tragedies I saw in this hotel. The room was quite dirty, forgotten hairs and soaps from the previous tenants and of course the room was never cleaned on the second day. And the breakfast was very very very poor, however the person who was there was very kind, he may have been the only one in the hotel.

I found the riva hotel to be okay but I wasn’t thrilled about the place either. The room needed some work done. I went to cook something on the stove and the light in the kitchen part of the room was burning out and flickering. Online they say the hotel offers a breakfast but the reception never told me any information about it. I went down at 9:00 am and the dining area was empty. In addition, the bathroom was set up strangely. There was almost no space in between the toilet and the shower. I’m only 5’2 and had barley enough space to bend my legs to use the toilet. On my last night of my stay, I learned just how thin the walls of the hotel are. With my hotel room door closed and locked, I could hear a couple across the hall from me having loud sexual relations. It was pretty disturbing. Overall I didn’t spend that much time in the hotel itself cause I was out for most of my time in Izmir but for the price I paid, I don’t think my stay at this hotel was with it.

A little disappointed, but not a bad hotel

Overall, the hotel was fine. No big complaints, just a few minor things that were a little inconvenient. Check in was 2pm, when I arrived at 4pm the room wasn't ready. Only had to wait 15 minutes. The shower and sink didn't drain that well. The bed had 1 sheet covering the mattress and 1 blanket on top, no second sheet to cover me. This must be a Turkish or İzmir thing because it was the same at my next hotel. However, the blanket was too short and didn't cover my feet. Room was very clean and staff was great though.

Avoid if you value your health and safety

The experience is one of the worst I have ever encountered. The room was not fit for an adult to stay, let alone a child (family suite booked). The shower area was covered in mould and the walls were damp leaving the room smelling toxic and unsanitary. We requested to change which was met with challenges - finally we were shown 2 alternative- both with mould in the bathroom. In addition to this, the cot requested upon booking and confirmed by the hotel prior to arrival was not available. Hotel staff suggested to co sleep with a young infant, which is unsafe to do so. An entirely unpleasant experience which I wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Avoid at all costs. Much better options available in Alsancak area for similar price.

Decent budget hotel. We were in an economy room which was very small (not enough room to put 2 suitcases). Also the shower in our room leaked all over the floor of the main room. Location was good in that it was close to lots of restaurants, nightlife, etc. however it was difficult for taxis, tour buses, etc. to access. Breakfast was overpriced for what you got. Our room was on the top floor, which was not accessible by elevator, so we had to carry our luggage up a flight of stairs. The rooms were clean, however the public washrooms in the lobby were not kept very clean.

An excellent hotel over-all. A minor drawback was the scarcity of inventory in the kitchen: adding another small saucepan and a ladle would not hurt. But otherwise, everything was wonderful! I would especially like to mention the hotel staff: very attentive, smiling, accepting you as a family. They cater to your every wish: water, soap, everything I asked for ended up in my room. I especially want to mention the girl at the reception, Secil, who helped me print the boarding pass on a short notice. Despite the printer not working, she found a workaround, spent a lot of time and made it work, putting all her heart into the job. My sincere gratitude to her personally.

Staff was very nice, helpful and friendly.
Hotel location is very good in terms of proximity to the city centre, restaurants, seaside, etc. You can enjoy yourself in walking distance for most of the time. But it is also very noisy especially during nights and early morning until 2-3 am. Random people will shout, argue and talk loudly most of the night and sound isolation was not very good.
On Sunday mornings there's a bazaar right in front of the hotel where sellers start preparing stalls, etc starting from 4-5 am.
So most of the time we could not get good night sleep.
Room cleanliness was ok, but could have been better. Some amenities were missing. Couldn't find pillow case even after we had asked for it.
Breakfast was good, but nothing special.

First time in Turkey and arrived at 1:30am., and was greeted by hotel staff and was heading to the room very quickly. Amazing as we spoke no Turkish and the clerk spoke a little English and everything worked well. Great stay as the neighbourhood was confusing at 1:30am., on a Saturday evening. Trying to get assistance at times over a 5 day stay was a challenge but one needs to consult guide books and use the Internet, Construction of new sidewalks is underway so some night noise getting rid of debris and will look great in another year.

The room was poorly designed. A door that opened inwards into the bathroom. Cooking hob but few utensils. Large room but small table and chairs, lot of empty space for nothing. King size bed was comfortable. Construction work going on outside starting at 6am, even on weekends. Friendly staff. Heating on all the time and had to turn it all off. Large TV on wall enclosed so no place to use USB. TV on all the time so waste of electricity. Underfloor heating on all the time but staff said there was none!! close to the seashore and lots of shops and restaurants. Not a place I would go back to.

Okay for a one night stay

Very friendly and helpful staff. Good value for money.

However, due to COVID they are not able to run the centralised heating/air conditioning making it very cold everywhere. There is a radiator in the room but it takes a very long time for it to heat up and because the walls are quite thin.

Also, next door they are undergoing heavy construction (a new building from the ground up). It was quite noisy at times because of this.

Additionally, I booked the \"deluxe suite\" based on the photo with the table chairs and sofa. However, when I arrived I was told that was not available... Maybe the caption should be updated to make it clear which room that is.

The photo showing of the economy room is only a photo of the bathroom. There is no hose attachment for the shower. And there is no kitchen as is shown by photographs of all the other rooms.

I felt deceived as I expected a kitchen in the room. The only room picture is of other rooms not of the economy room. Then they had pictures of different bathrooms as well got the economy room only had a picture of a bathroom so the Assumption was that have a kitchen as the other photos

- there was bad smell at around 11:00pm every night after switching off the air-conditioner
- although I stayed at a room with kitchenware, there was no washing machine, so it is really not completely apartment service, I need to pay but they only offer dry-clean service, not laundry

Don't stay even though its central!

Dirty rooms. Floor is very dirty and dusty. Although I booked an executive suit room, I was given a single bedroom with an extremely small kitchen in it! Service sucks, no daily cleaning unless you request is specially. Breakfast is very basic. They have only coffee powder!
Location is central, but at night it's quite creepy and dark behind some dirty construction area.
My worst experience ever. I spend 120 days a year in hotels and this one doesnt even deserve a 2 star!

The hotel is really beautiful and somewhat fancy for its price. Although my requests were not fulfilled by the hotel, our staying, me and my girlfriend, was really good. The breakfast was good and the service was decent. The area has some worth seeing places, yet the tramway and metro station are not that far, which gives opportunities to visit other places.

It is a nice studio where you can cook fast food. Near many cafes, shops and supermarkets. Lovely fruits and Vegas bad at every Saturday just next to it. Close to tram and train station.
They do not clean the room every day.
If I had to go to Izmir again I would stay there again

This hotel really exceeded our expectations. The price was extremely fair for the amenities we had and the location, which is in a very vibrant but safe neighborhood. The staff were very helpful and kind, especially the older gentleman who works the night shift. The room was very comfortable except the bed sheets were a little scratchy. The room had a small kitchen, a fridge and a very nice shower (despite having a semi transparent bathroom which didn't bother anyone who stayed here). Would recommend this place to any young traveler!

Great hotel for purpose. Set within the narrow streets of the old part of Alcancak this hotel was ideal for early morning Consulate appointment. Parking is a the rear of the hotel and staff were happy to assist on our arrival. Reception was welcoming ans staff approachable. Room clean, tidy and full of necessary amenities. Bedding clean and laundered and copious hot water for shower. Walkable distance to port area, coffee shops and eateries. Friendly staff on arrival and departure. We will use again in the future for a vacation rather than a business trip.

Another great stay !

Repeat guest * as usual we had a great stay at Aparts Alsancak, the staff are always friendly and helpful whenever possible, the rooms are we stayed in are lovely, clean and comfortable. Relaxed atmosphere within the hotel and good location for surrounding restaurants and shopping. We have stayed here often when in Alsancak and can not fault the accomodations. There is 24 hour reception which provides added security and of course this means freedom to come and go whenever we wanted. The area itself is on the back streets but this did not hinder our stay at all as the Aparts/ hotel are very close to all the restaurants, metro station, pubs and clubs . Ideal place for us and we look forward to our next stay.

Modern , contemporary and reasonable priced

I love these aparts! Modern, comfortable, clean, reasonable price, central location ... helpful staff who are warm, friendly and welcoming upon arrival. The rooms are nearly refurbished and contemporary feeling inside. Electric key cards for security and lift takes you to your room. Rooms are cleaned every day if you require or you can have peaceful enjoyment without the interruption. The hotel / aparts offer breakfast with extra charge or you can prepare yourself food in room, rooms have cooking facilities and fridge for using. Location is close to the main shopping, restaurant, bar area of Alsancak also close to metro staion and new tram way. Public transport is cheap in turkey and very accessible. I would recommend this hotel/ apartments for staying in alsancak.

We only stayed for one night and the hardware of the hotel was generally quite OK, clean and quite new. Location-wise it is also quite good as it's near a lively area with lots of nice cafés, restaurants, etc., and is also quite close to the Alsancak train station that took us to the airport easily very early the next morning. However, our experience at the hotel was quite bad upon arrival; as we entered our room, we found two cleaners smoking on the bed. They probably had just finished cleaning and were taking a break. I didn't mind them taking a break but they could have smoked elsewhere, not in the guests' room on the bed! The room smelt of cigarette badly. The reception immediately gave us another room which was fine.

Lovely Apart in the City Center

It is a clean apart hotel in a very central location. The personnel is helpful and friendly. No housekeeping, breakfast is optional. It is on one of the narrow and caotic streets of the city, but they have a parking place. I would recommend it if you like to stay close to the city attractions on budget. Definitely an excellent value for money place.

Great find in the middle of Alsancak

Definitely will stay here again. The apartment was spacious and well laid with all amenities including a litre and a half bottle of water ice cold in the fridge. Reception was super fast and friendly and despite being apartments the reception was whaty Oh would expect at a hotel. The area, between Alsanck station and the main shopping street can appear a bit daunting at night but once you got your bearings you realised it was better located than first seemed. There is a small metal fabrication shop directly opposite which may distract if you go for a siesta but I heard nothing during the night. Basic but clean and comfortable

Central hotel, no sea view, no lift so not disable friendly , access to rooms via stairs only. Free upgrade to suite , staff polite and night staff extremely honest, returned over payment of money paid for room without asking. He is an asset. Rooms have TV and free Wi-Fi although would of liked atleast one English channel out of the 700 on offer ( all Turkish ) rooms clean and tidy upon arrival although did need to request clean and towel/ linen change during my stay. Cleaned promptly though so no problem. Hotel is next to lively bar so alittle noisy but did not disturb sleep. Free air con ..a great plus with the heat. Short distance to sea / park area through side streets which are confusing at first but kept to same route to and from so soon got bearings. Suite had cooker and kettle but cooking only basic food as not supplied well with cooking facilities. Tea and coffee not replenished at all during stay so take your own if your like me and NEED a quick cuppa in morning. Fridge in room. Basic but comfortable and close to all restaurants / nightlife. I would stay again ... overall a pleasant hassle free stay.

Rezalet bir tatil geçirdim öncesinde söz verilen ve yazılan hiçbir şey yok kimse sorumluluk almıyor ve boş sözlerle geçiştirilmeye çalışılıyor otopark asla yok ama var yazıyordu malesef ücretli otoparka arabamı çekmek zorunda kaldım odada akıllı tv var yazıyor ama yok internet çekmiyor el sabunu bile yok personeller ilgisiz asla tavsiye etmiyorum sabunu bile

O quarto era amplo e possuía quarto separado, uma sala de boas dimensões, um banheiro com bom tamanho e uma cozinha com fogão, geladeira e chaleira elétrica; apens poderias providenciar utensílios como panelas. Os funcionários sempre foram o ponto alto: cordiais e atenciosos. O café da manhã é farto e com muito boa qualidade, muito bom mesmo.

A equipe do front desk sempre foi muito solícita e cordial. O pessoal do café da manhã também foi perfeito. O apartamento era amplo e o isolamento acústico era bom. Apenas poderia ter uns utensílios de cozinha na cozinha. O elevador era um pouco restrito quanto ao espaço, mas funcionou muito bem. O café da manhã era muito bom e com ótima variedade. Recomendamos.
