This hotel deserves better management!
*we came to hotel by car from another city, we found the entrance of the building by navigation, it was during the rush hours and finally when we came, we saw a big construction area written that \"sorry we are renewing our lobby area\"! so then what? there is no sign, no employee! we started to turn around the building and streets and lucky found the entrance to hotel trough their convention center. I inform the chek-in employee that it was problem for me, they should inform their customers before check in ; he replied \"I will transfer your complain to management\" that's all !
Other issue was extra bed they brought to room! it was not ready when we came to room and it was the oldest and worst extra bed ever. my son couldn't sleep there and we had to share the king bed 3 of us. And when I informed them of course the answer was \"we will transfer your complain to management\" Again no \"sorry \"
the only star goes to the Italian restaurant in the hotel. it was amazing! but hotel it self was not even close to 5 stars except the location and building.

The room was big with a very comfortable bed. The staff was great especially Alara who works in the Swiss Café. The location of the hotel is great..close to everything. You can literally walk everywhere. The breakfast buffet has everything you can imagine and more. Definitely worth staying here when visiting Izmir.

Check-in and check-out take a very long time. They say they don't serve tea because breakfast ends at 10:30. Despite taking a deposit, they still charge again. There are many things that are unacceptable for a hotel of this size.

Seeing as the lobby is undergoing renovations, it was a fair walk from the new reception to

Clean room ,great staff, great location. Good breakfast but little to no meat as common in Türkiye. Great emergency plan as I was lucky enough to have the 6.1 earthquake one night at 11 pm. Staff was directing us to stairs and directing us to outside. Dispensing water quickly to guests which indicated very good training and good leadership. Great job !!

I stayed for three nights on business. This was my first time in Izmir and I'm glad I booked at the Swissotel. My room was spacious, clean, and quiet. The breakfast was outstanding. I think this was the best spread of breakfast items I have seen in Turkey during my travels. I didn't have a chance to access the pool, but the grounds were beautiful and it had been warmer I would have spent some time outside by the pool.

The immediate vicinity didn't have a lot of restaurant options, but if you walk north and then go left at the first stoplights, you can enjoy a nice walk down a market street and then at the end of the market street is where you will see a lot of great shops and restaurants. I grabbed a great dinner and some baklava, which was vacuumed sealed so I could take it back to Canada.

This hotel is close to the water and only a 15 minute walk from the famous huge market in Izmir, which seemed to stretch on forever (I almost got lost).

If I visit Izmir again, I will definitely book this hotel if the price is right!

This hotel was perfect for our family stay in Izmir. The hotel and its rooms are spacious and clean. The beds were comfortable and the overall service at the hotel was great.

Other aspects we appreciated is the large swimming pool which is by clean and well serviced and also the breakfast at the hotel which was included in our package was really delicious and wonderful. We enjoyed staying in this hotel, as it is also convenient to lots of other dining options.

We have been staying here every time we visit Izmir. Everything is top quality and all members of the crew are extremely kind and welcoming. Me and my girlfriend just got home from our stay in this hotel, we had an absolutely wonderful week, the atmosphere is really calm and relaxing, the easy listening music in the lifts and around hotel/pool sets the tone, even had a man playing the piano which was lovely, the staff are really relaxed and friendly/helpful, the clients tend to be middle aged and all enjoying the peaceful days. The beds are so comfortable and the rooms very very nice and kept really clean, Food and drinks aren't cheap, but you should expect that in 5*, plenty of restaurants nearby to try out. There is a lot of security on all entrances, even body scanner's as you enter, it's another level of safe, even the lifts only operate with your room card, it makes you feel really safe, The walk by the seafront is beautiful, and we loved getting takeaway and sitting on the grass with the many locals and families enjoying the green spaces, I will advise you to remember your credit card for check-in, as they take a room deposit when you arrive, I didn't realize this and it caught me by surprise, didn't have my credit card, paid cash no problem.
Overall we loved our stay and honestly couldn't find fault in hotel or staff, the area is also very nice, not a beach holiday in kustadasi, more a luxury holiday in a bustling city.
Will definitely be going back and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to everyone.

Swissotel is an exceptional hotel, with a luxurious aroma which you notice even outside and unique artwork throughout.

We stayed in the family garden room and this was spacious and had a second toilet which was a surprise. The room was well maintained and had all the facilities you require to have an enjoyable stay.

The only small downside is that whilst there was a balcony it didn’t have a seating area as it was too small to have a chair and table.

All the employees were kind and attentive.

The spa staff were absolutely amazing and I would highly recommend trying a treatment or two !!! 😁.

Overall we had an amazing week at the Swissotel and I would highly recommend this hotel.

I recently stayed at Swissôtel in Izmir and was quite disappointed with the overall experience, especially given the high price point. The service was far from what you’d expect at a hotel of this caliber. Each day we encountered electrical issues — lights not working, air conditioning failing — and although maintenance was sent up every time, no one ever offered to move us to another room for convenience or comfort.

Their approach to bottled water under the name of “sustainability” was questionable — they leave refilled bottles in the room, and there’s no clear indication of how clean or safe they are. Room service was also frustrating; it was often hard to reach anyone, and we ended up having to go downstairs ourselves just to find someone.

Another major letdown was the inconsistency in their pet policy. While they seem strict about pets, the hotel was full of unsupervised kids running, yelling, and creating chaos in common areas — not exactly a peaceful or relaxing environment.

Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel and don’t plan to return.

This was the most expensive and unfortunately, the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. I traveled from New York and stayed for 7 days following a hair transplant surgery, expecting a comfortable and accommodating stay. Sadly, it was far from it. To start, the pricing is unreasonable. A single bottle of water from the minibar was 7 euros, despite the already high room rate. One evening, while recovering and unable to leave the hotel, I ordered room service a cappuccino and a slice of cake with ice cream for 17 euros. I expected at least a decent experience at that price, but the cappuccino was made with instant coffee and milk powder, and the cake was terrible.
Worse still, a hotel staff member entered my room around 10 PM without knocking or calling ahead while I was inside. Their explanation was that they hadn’t been able to “provide service” because I hadn’t left the room all day. Completely unacceptable and unprofessional. It was a serious breach of privacy and made me feel very unsafe. To top it all off, as I was checking out, I was charged an extra 200 TL per day for parking in the hotel’s lot. I’ve stayed in many hotels across different countries and have never encountered a hotel charging their own guests for parking like this.
I would absolutely not recommend this hotel. What should have been a comfortable recovery stay turned into a stressful and disappointing experience. Swissôtel Büyük Efes gives a bad impression of Izmir and Turkey. I will never return

I stayed here with my five year old daughter. She was treated kindly by all the staff. She particularly bonded with Ayse, Deniz and Solah. Ayse noticed it had been my daughter's fifth birthday two days before we arrived which was a lovely touch. She always made time for my daughter to sit and chat with her. Beautiful five star hotel, good facilities, full spa, saunas, hairdressers, two pools, indoor and out, which my child loved. There looks like an excellent gym too which I didn't have opportunity to use due to child. Beautiful gardens with sculptures, lovely aroma of Jasmine, lavender, amongst others and a children's play area. Gardeners were landscaping and tending to the plants throughout the day.
Good choices at breakfast both of hot and cold food, some Turkish, some international. Good quality non UPF breads, sourdough and wholemeal, good choice of hot foods. Lots of fruits, seeds, berries, chia seeds, herbs, leaves, tahini and Molasses. Anybody following a wholefood way of life would be catered for and able to find WFPB that is not so easy to source outside the hotel. Breakfast staff are very attentive and welcoming.

I asked for help from reception twice, once for a sheet because the duvet was too hot and the second time for a top up of green tea. Fantastic service from Housekeeping, Elif and team.

Check out was 12noon which is nice. My flight was 9pm so I asked about how much it would cost to use the pool after check out I was quoted £60!

I love this hotel. The rooms are large and comfortable. The food is excellent, and in the Michelin guide book. It has a large beautiful garden for strolling. It is one block from the harbor walk. It has a hot jacuzzi in the spa. If there are minor issues they are quickly taken care of.

It is an amazing property with excellent facilities especially breakfast and the pool was fantastic. Mr Firat from reception was very friendly and breakfast restaurant reception team was friendly. Also young housekeepers were very polite.The only thing we were surprised and a little disappointed was the lack of eye contact and smiles. Most of the team were very serious and avoiding eye contact or small talk. They do not even let you pass first if you cross through a tight space. I think they need a refresher training for Hospitality & Customer Satisfaction.

The hotel is massive, very clean and well maintained.
My room was also quite big with everything I wanted: a coffee machine, huge bed, a bath. The breakfast was good. I’d only recommend allowing guests to make their own tea or coffee. I was waiting for my tea to be made by the waiter for 15 minutes and no tea was brought to me in the end. The restaurant is open at 6:30, but they are still running around preparing stuff, bread toaster for example wasn’t turn on and it took 20 minutes for it to warm up (I couldn’t wait because of my morning flight) so boast or tea for me that day😿

A cleaning lady was banging my door at night asking if I wanted some tea (not sure why) and my room phone called around 2 am..

Reception desk people were very helpful and nice.

We picked this hotel for its central location and pool and it was a lovely stay for our family for one night. The pool was very busy but the staff worked to find us spots together and the recommendation by the valet for planning our trip to Ephesus was spot on. We were greeted with wine and fruit and definitely felt the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The hotel is close to the waterfront which is great to meander and have dinner - the area was safe. I would recommend this hotel if you are in the Izmir area!
