I arrived in the room and the heat was not working. The office is not staffed overnight at this time of the year, so I had to reach out to the emergency line. After several phone calls, a space heater was brought to the room. That device was 1) not going to heat the room thoroughly and 2) was not safe to be running in a room overnight- especially a room with a child in it. It took over a dozen phone calls to get moved to a new room and that was not until almost 11 PM. I would NOT recommend this hotel. Their customer service was not good and the fact that they thought it was ok to run a space heater overnight is not safe.

This was a great place to stay, the pool was very nice.
I loved that there were fire pits.
There are Smart TVs so you can stream stuff if you need a down day.
It’s very nice have a kitchenette, microwave etc.

Cons:
Some of the mattresses may need to be replaced.

If you have any difficulty walking or have back or knee problems request a first floor room. Some rooms are pretty far from the parking lot and then you have to carry luggage up a lot of steep stairs if on 2nd floor. Staff was very nice and will help you.

No coffee makers in room, you have to go to lobby to get coffee.

I would definitely stay here again.

The bed was the most uncomfortable brand new bed I’ve ever slept it. Huge crater in the middle and you could feel all the internal framing. I was convinced it was 50 years old, but it was brand new. Hotel is being converted. While design forward, nobody actually thought about practical use—for example, the wet bathroom looks nice but doesn’t work when there is no counter to put anything on. Toilet seat was so cheap it was already broken and had probably never been used. Bed was horrible. Looks cool but up close is just a one star experience.

Great location! Nice property. Had issues with the smoke alarm going off in my room one night, the staff wasn’t super courteous but they were efficient and checked the equipment as soon as I reported the problem. A bit frustrating no one is readily available in the late evening/overnight.

Other than the beds there is no furniture in the room. No dresser or table or chairs. Not even a luggage rack. Nowhere to put your stuff except a cubby set up that takes up the entire closet. Bathroom design is a terrible accident waiting to happen. Slippery tub that you must climb into to turn on the faucet due to a permanent glass door. Very dangerous for children and mobility issues.

My husband and I ended up driving out to the cape earlier than we had planned so we needed to find a last minute place to stay. The price was reasonable (a Wednesday at the end of August) and the location was ideal.

We were pleasantly surprised. The room was great! We booked a king room right near the pool. It was super quiet, great shower, and very clean. We enjoyed sitting on the patio out front of our room when we arrived Wednesday evening and even managed to sneak in some time on the pool deck before we left.

The only small issue we had was trying to locate front desk personnel for check out morning but all staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again. It is within walking distance to a small park and a quick drive to Cape Roots which is a great breakfast spot!

This property is basically exactly what my family expected. A cleaned up old motor lodge with some solid amenities. Bed was new and comfotable. Indoor and outdoor pool were nice. There are many gas fire pits that we utilized, but it is not that obvious how to use them. You need to use a key to open the gas then use a lighter to light them. I am familiar with these so no issue but i can see it as an issue for other guests. There are plenty of resturants and beaches within 10-20 min. We really liked Mayflower beach. I would definitely stay here again. It was a good value for what they provide.

The rooms were dark (there's a large window which let's in a lot of light, but for privacy the shades needed to be drawn at all times, and the lighting in the room was pretty dim. Our bathtub drained very very slowly, which wasn't a huge problem, but wasn't great.

The hotel seems to be ran down. Damp smelling room, ripped out fixtures in the bathroom,no room for towel or toiletries, not even one hook. Damaded table, stained bedding, microwave full of previous guests food. Molded tissues in the tissue box.Room itself contained two beds, table and tiny shelf between beds to fit two phones, opening in the wall had few hangers serving as a closet. Your luggage and belongings can only be stored on the floor. Door rattles in the frame when the wind blows. Worse of all it feels like staying under the jungle gym, every move guests above make wakes u or sounds like ceiling will collapse.
Dated pool with missing tiles, rusted over furniture and fixtures. Pool cleaning I guess happens once in a while, debris is a constant. Dryout grass and look of abandonment. Parking not efficient so guests park anywhere and caused damage/dents to our car.
Lobby hours laughable and management or care nonexistent.
The only plus is that its pet friendly place so thats what kept us there. Not a place to stay beyond one night, no rest or relaxation by busy street location. Couple restaurants close by but nothing to come back to.Public beach -tiny.

We loved our stay! We stayed in a deluxe king and it was spacious and super clean. Housekeeping came everyday and the staff were always polite anytime we interacted with them. The pool was awesome! There is a small beach .9 miles away, which was easy to walk to. Rooms were not too noisy next door and I saw some reviews that said there were no hooks- but that issue was resolved because we had them! Coffee was great in the AM. It’s super close to the Wee Packet for breakfast / dinner and Sundae School ice cream. We loved our stay :)

The hotel, overall, was very nice and provided the basics of what we needed. While it would not have changed our reservation and he outdoor pool was very nice, it would have been ideal to know in advance that the indoor pool/hot tub were not available due to repair/renovation. The website was misleading in making it seem like all amenities/options were available. Also, it would be preferred if the pool could stay open to at least dusk (vs. 7:00 PM)

It was ok. I saw a lot of reviews about thin walls but didnt notice that at all. When we walked into the room it was cool outside but they had the AC at 66° and it smelled soo musty/moldy in the room. We tried to open the windows but they were all stuck, we were only able to get the bathroom one open and then eventually one of the front windows to help air the place out. The floor was sooooo sticky and dirty. We had to walk around with our sandals on. The bathroom also had black and brown drips all over the shower and walls. We came home and all of our stuff smelled moldy from the room. Also didnt like the free standing bottles of shampoo, conditioner and body wash, any other guest can easily tamper with them and put stuff in them.

My husband and I had a reservation for the night of August 3rd. After driving two hours from Quincy, MA, we were informed at check-in that the air conditioning in our room wasn’t working. We then spoke with another guest in the lobby who mentioned that an entire building had been without AC for over 24 hours.
We might have stayed if there had been a meaningful discount offered, but the front desk staff said the only adjustment they could make was waiving a $22 fee. Spending over $300 for a room with no air conditioning wasn’t acceptable, so we asked to speak with a manager. The staff attempted to call someone, but no one answered. We were told a manager would be in the next day and would call us—but we never received a follow-up.
For a large hospitality group that manages multiple properties, the handling of this situation was disappointing. No effort was made to alert incoming guests about the issue, yet we received several group texts throughout the day about an illegally parked car. Ultimately, we had no choice but to cancel and abandon our plans.
We’ve been excited to check out the Bluebird ever since its remodel, so this was a real letdown. Unfortunately, after this experience, we’ll be avoiding any hotels operated by Lark.

TOO LOUD! If you have a room downstairs, the upstairs room floors have no soundproofing, and it sounds like a herd of elephants walking around. We also had a family to the left above us with two small kids who liked to start running back in forth in the room at 7am!!! We had to check out a day early because we couldn't sleep. Very annoying and expensive for the quality of this place. I would not recommend staying there unless you get a room upstairs. The only positive was that we could bring our dogs. The staff were very nice.

There were some cups and garbage around the property, on top of housekeeping coming and half cleaning the room. The bed was made and some trash was taken out but not all of the trash and we weren’t given new Kleenex or pool towels, since pool towels are no longer found in the storage unit by the pool area. The pool also wasn’t cleaned one day and a lot of the furniture is rusted.

The indoor pool and whirlpool were also closed indefinitely and there were no smores kits. To be honest, it was such a let down from how amazing last year was.

so where do I start? The photos are totally misleading. We had a king room and although the treatment on the wall was kind of cool it was peeling off and that looked really messy. There’s also no table in there meaning that white table in the picture that’s not in there. There’s a tiny 5 inch table over near a chair that no one could really sit in because it’s bamboo rocking chair so there’s no place to sit and have a cup of coffee, theres no couch and there’s no bureau in the room so there’s no place to put your clothes there’s like an open cubby area that’s made of wood with hangers. Refrigerator was like for just a few things very tiny and no coffee maker. There is no grab bars anywhere and no treatment on the bottom of this brand new shiny tub and I almost fell in the tub trying to get in to take a shower. I wouldn’t even suggest anyone elderly staying here. There’s no one in the office or in the front after 8 o’clock there’s also no phones in the room so you can’t call down to tell the front desk that the sound is unbelievable in the place you can hear the TV on either side of you, and on top of you. So the walls are like newspaper. A/C is loud as hell but if it’s not on its hot. TV was horrible, low on the wall and There’s no instructions you have two clickers but they’re connected to a Samsung guide of some sort and we couldn’t find any good stations. Everything was pay movies or it was just really difficult.. Giving the place a #1 would never recommend this place!!!

Upon checking in when asking where the beach is located the front desk assistant couldn’t tell me. I was lucky to engage with another guest who gave me all the information I was seeking. Additional questions I had also could not be answered. I think it would be helpful to train employees about the local area then have them say they don’t know or they are unsure.
The next part of the/my problem was the room, it was beyond musty and overall smelly. I understand the rooms are pet friendly however the floors were very dirty as was the carpet runner.
The bathrooms looked updated and very clean the little kitchen area in the room was also very clean. There weren’t any garbage receptacles on the back end of the property or by the vending machines so there was garbage piled up daily. I didn’t use housekeeping services however whenever I spoke to the ladies they were very helpful and super friendly.
Overall, it appears to me as a management issue and I hope they improve upon it cause it’s a really cute location with potential. I will add there is a lovely spot two blocks away if you’re hungry, called the wee packet Inn. I did ask the front desk for a food recommendation but it required a car.

The walls of this property were absolutely paper thin, to the point where you could hear someone clearing their throat in the next room over or conversations at a normal volume. This was way past just a loud neighbor as we could even hear the cleaning woman cleaning next door during the day. We cut short our stay early as we couldn’t stand it and were hardly sleeping at night. The thin walls and inability to get any sleep ruined our trip. We asked to change rooms or the ability to leave and get a refund after the second night and the man at the desk said there’s so many kids checked in that it’s unlikely a new room would be any better and that we would not get any money reimbursed if we left early. Again I would like to emphasize, this was way past just a loud child next door.

After this experience we went back and read more reviews and it appears others had these concerns however there was no mention from the staff that this was a problem they were aware of.

After another sleepless night we checked out and left a day early, cutting our vacation a day short. At checkout(which was within the normal check out window for the property) the man at the desk did not even acknowledge in any way we were checking out early or even apologize for the experience.

I was extremely disappointed in both the state of this property and the quality of the customer service. I will never again return to this property or any property managed by the Lark group after this terrible experience.

This property looks way better in photos. In reality, the rooms are lacking cozy touches and have a very musty smell that detract from the experience.
We checked in during a rainstorm after hours. Upon entering the room, we immediately noticed that there were no rugs. Nothing to wipe our wet shoes on. So we trudged our luggage into the room from the car in the storm and tracked water and dirt into the room. After settling in and wiping the floor throughout, we were overwhelmed by the strong musty smell.
The next day, we went to the front office during the reported office hours to ask about a mat for the floor, but the office was closed. We found the lack of in - person front desk staff quite odd, leaving us to communicate via text.
Overall, I feel the price of the room does not match the quality we were hoping for. There is potential to be a unique resort with a kitschy vibe and aesthetic, but they seemed to have missed the mark on this.

The Bluebird is conveniently located and within walking distance to several good restaurants. The room was clean and nicely furnished with some unexpected extras such as a kitchenette with sink, microwave and fridge. Our room was very quiet. We enjoyed both the indoor and outdoor pools which were very clean and provided ample seating. The property is very peaceful. My only con would be that the parking can be a bit of a challenge when the property is fully booked.

The hotel rooms were extremely clean and nice. The young lady at the front desk was very sweet and helpful. Majority of the employees were young, pleasant, helpful and polite. There was only one employee member that was unpleasant and honestly plain out rude. Ironically, she also, appeared to be the oldest of all the employees there. My son and I were at the vending machine and she was pushing one of the hotel’s large industrial sized laundry carts by us. There was more than enough room to go around us. At first it wasn’t clear, if she was even an employee there she was not in uniform. We said, hello—zero response back. She never said, please excuse me these carts can be difficult to move, I need some more space. Instead she rammed the cart into my lower back. My tailbone still hurts 2 days later (no joke). She never apologized even after I made a comment out of shock, “ok, I guess that just happened.” She had no reaction, walked around us to grab another cart that my 6year old son was standing next to. I quickly pulled him away and made an additional comment, “get over here, she hit me with one of those, it really hurt.” Her rudeness continued throughout our 2night stay. My father who suffers from Early Onset, mistakenly, let his Emotional Support Dog out, w/o his leash on. The dog ran right over to us. She snapped around and yelled at my dad, “Sir your dog needs to be leashed.” I expressed our disappointments to the front desk. She felt horrible and apologized.

We enjoyed our stay here. The pool area is a lot of fun and the general decor is clean and modern. With that being said, we have stayed at other bluebird hotels that offered more amenities at the same price point. The property should consider changing one of the cottages to be a communal area for guests to either purchase drinks in the evenings, play some pool or arcade games, etc. The other Bluebirds (Cady Hill and Talta) offer that and that works out well for young families. Also, another table in the room! Furnishings are lovely but sparse.

Great stay!

Our stay at the Bluebird Dennisport was so lovely. It's very centrally located with beaches and cafes within walking distance, while still not within the main drag of the smaller downtown areas making it a very quiet and relaxing getaway. The room was beautiful and the property was lovely! My only recommendation is that they add in a water refill station so we can avoid buying plastic water bottles.

They aimed to be a cool place for hipster cool kids from Boston to come to the cape but it ended up being for families in reunions that think the place is theirs . There was a family that just sat in the little deck (part of my room) in front of my window in the morning and made a little group meeting right there. There is no staff around to manage this situations and make all guests welcomed. I was in the little kitchen area and a custodian / service person just stood by the window and I was talking on the phone loudly for a long time . I even took a picture of his head right at the window of my room. Lots of room for improvement. Nice to see the revamp in the old cape hotels .

There was nothing to put our suitcase on, no dresser to put toiletries or other things on, no where in bathroom to put toiletries on, nowhere to hang towel, hot tub not working, ridiculous extra charge for Wi-Fi - everywhere has free Wi-Fi. The only thing we were paying extra charge for was pool. I would never recommend this place except for convenient location.

Enjoyed our repeat stay at the Bluebird in Dennis Port. We were greeted with a Scandanavian feel to our room. Always wonderful to have a refrigerator included, although a freezer compartment would have been appreciated. The pool area is updated and a pleasure to use. We will definitely stay again in the future.

Did not look like the advertisement pictures plain and simple. I hate to rag on them but there was mold, nowhere to put our stuff and multiple things broken in the room. We were thinking it was going to be a nice boutique hotel /motel and it was not that. They had some updated renovations it was essentially trying to cover up stuff that was still visible. Staff was nice and pleasant and tried to help but it just wasn’t what we were looking for.

We loved our stay! It was very cozy and we love the decor! The nouveau yet retro look is awesome. Rooms were nice and cool from the ACs, clean (smelled like a touch of bleach which I liked), super soft sheets, water pressure and temperature was good, fridge under the sink was nice to have, and the staff was helpful when we checked in as well. The pools were great! The one thing I will say is to grab your pool towel the first day and keep it! They kept running out of towels while we were there - we would go out during the day and when we went to the pool around 5pm the towels were always all gone. The fire pits were also fun at night as well! Great location close to all restaurants and easy to drive anywhere else in Cape Cod!

We just needed a room for one night. We wound up being so happy it was only one night. Otherwise, we would have left. Clean? Yes, or we wouldn’t have made it through the one night. The cleanliness made it bearable. No furniture, except for the two beds, which were surprisingly comfortable, and a little shelf between the beds. No place for the suitcases and “stuff” that three people bring. No dresser, table, or anything. When taking a shower, a towel had to be pushed around the curtain for privacy. Not enough outlets. no iron and ironing board, though the description said they were included. You had to get in the bathtub to start the shower. Big step up into the room through the door. Could hear everything through all walls. Will not stay there again. Seemed to serve purposes for young families who wanted affordability and a nice pool.

This property is so fabulous. The rooms are newly renovated and welcome you with a fresh coastal smell, the bed is a glorious cloud layered by blankets and sheets to keep you tucked in. There’s a microwave and mini fridge for convenience, which I appreciated to store our wine. The staff are so kind and helpful. Lark has turned the office into a small boutique and it’s so cute!

The indoor pool was being treated when we were there and the hot tub doesn’t have strong jets and doesn’t get really warm; however, the premises are kept clean and towels are stocked every day. Dennis Port is mid cape and lets you drive to different areas on the cape, depending on where you want to go. I can’t wait to stay here again.

Bed was uncomfortable, shower very slippery, ants and spiders in room. Good location. Extra charge for pool should be refunded since it was down. Too many texts ans emails sent from Bluebird to us. Towel amount good

The hotel itself is quite nice and tastefully renovated. It was nice that they maintained the original charm of the bathrooms in particular, but with modern fixtures that made it feel fresh and clean. The other comments about the noise levels were extremely valid though; you can definitely hear noise through the windows and from neighboring rooms, and especially the doors constantly slamming. This can definitely be disruptive. Be aware that there isn't a lot of dining options within a reasonably walkable distance, and the beach nearby is quite small. You'll need to drive to most places you'd want to visit.

Bluebird is in a great location near all the things we like. The Internet service is poor, impossible from inside our room. Had to skim the bugs out of the indoor pool myself. Nice spot. Nice place. Could use a little TLC.
