Loved this hotel so much I am sad to leave it! Amazing friendly staff that will help you ship your luggage, leave you clean towels and other amenities every day, will make up the room for you even if you are a little late posting the sign. See through elevator is fun to look through. Anything you need is so close by, 2 train stations just down the street as well as McDonald’s and Burger King if you are looking for some familiar food while being away from home, 7/11 was right across the street as well which I used every night. Osaka castle was also only 20 mins away so if you’re bored at night you can just walk there. Check out was so simple as well!

Hotel was very nice and in a good area, about 35 minute walk to the famous Dotonbri canal area. Lots of different places to eat around every corner.
The room was very nice and had free video on demand in the room which came in handy on rainy days we had. Breakfast buffet wasn't as good as other Hotels I stayed at but was included and saved a bit of time and money in morning time. I would stay here again.

Of all the hotels we stayed in Japan, this one we found to be the dirtiest and had the least amount of usable space. It may have been a smoker's room as there was old linking cigarette smells. The carpet felt it was not vacuumed as there was debris on the floor. The small closet door did not close all the way. The TV was on the desk, taking up valuable real estate in the room. Compared to other hotel rooms in Japan, this one was not up to par. It was difficult to get comfortable at this particular stay.

I would not recommend this to anyone from North America. The rooms are way too small. Bathrooms and toilets are way too tiny. I disliked it to the point that I went late at night just to sleep and left as soon as I woke up.
If you are claustrophobic, do not book it.
Staff is lovely and rooms are clean. But would not stay here just because of size of rooms for the price.

I love APA hotels. It's a chain but I have had no issues with them in the past. The staff are so helpful and kind. They offer so many helpful tips and the rooms are so clean. The rooms are also quite big and a good price. They are always in convenient locations near easy transportation.

The stay was amazing, overall.

The location is near a subway station, a Takoyaki place, 7 Eleven and a drugstore. Few mins walk would also bring you to a supermarket and a ramen place.

The free breakfast was nice and affordable as an addition to the rooms we got, the food was the same each day but we really didn't mind since it's great to start the day and you'll have a lot of options for lunch and dinner around Osaka.

Thank you so much APA hotel, we'll definitely be back in Japan.

The rooms are out dated. We had an issue with the first room that was given to us and the staff made every effort to find us a better room eventhough they are a bit outdated compared to all the other APA hotels that we had stayed at. The check in counter was located on the 2nd floor so we were a but confused when we got there. Location was ok. We were 30 mins walking distance to the main street of Osaka.

The only good thing about this hotel is the staff : excellent! But the rooms are small boxes the size of a bed. In other words my head against a wall, my feet touching the other wall and my arm against the other wall. To go to the bathroom I had to roll over my wife!!. The bathroom is smaller than the smallest in a cruise ship. Never again.

No laundry machine, asked staff, apparently you have to walk for 7,8 minutes to another building to do laundry, very inconvenient. Location wise is not too bad, only 250m by the subway.

A good hotel overall, with good amenities But the bathroom is too small. Out of four hotels we stayed in during our visit to Japan, this room's bathroom was the most difficult to deal with. I am 5ft. 8in. but could barely use the toilet... so for someone bigger or taller it would be VERY uncomfortable, or even impossible.

The smallest bathroom I have ever seen,

It was with great difficulty that I squeezed by the toilet to reach the tiny bath. The provided bathmat didn't fit between the toilet and the bath. The room was outfitted with many conveniences, such as free wi-fi and LAN access, TV with BBC, A/C, etc. The bed was adequate.

The provided breakfast was strictly Japanese style -- there was no bread, pastries, cereals, fried eggs, bacon, or sausages and no fruit juices. (They did serve coffee.)

The elevator always made a stop at the front desk level whether there was anyone needing the elevator or not. This was true whether going up or down and became an annoyance causing delays each time entering and leaving.. (Maybe they were just checking to make sure there were no extra people going to or from the rooms.)

The faucets in the bath were leaky and had to be torqued down to stop the dripping.

The room was extra small, the furniture requires updating, the amenities are minimal. The standout for this hotel is the location. It is only 200 meters from the train station. It is a central location with ease of access to shops and restaurants. It is between Umeda and Dotonbori which helps cutting down on travel time. It was surprising to me that the staff do not necessarily speak good english, however the friendliness of the staff will make up for any inconvenience encountered. All in all, it was a good experience. Next time, I'll choose another hotel but in the same area.

Before reading the comment below below, I strongly advise you start planning to find another hotel unless this is the only one available or suit your budget.

The room is too small which barely fit two people. The toilet is too narrow and you can easily knock on the wall, calling simply raise your hand a little bit or sit on the toilet loop. (I am just 170cm tall)

The bed sheet, blanket cover won't replaced no matter how long you stay ( we stayed for 7 nights). You are required to notify the front desk for replacement before a set time( it should be 0930 am). Otherwise you may have same condition like us using the old things for seven nights. We find dirt inside the blanket. Terrible

Also, the front lobby is on the second floor, every time you back and leave the hotel, the elevator will automatically stop at 2nd floor

We stayed for 7 nights and found the room, while small, was very comfortable. The bathroom was small so may not be suitable for larger people. Overall a clean and tidy hotel.

Close to the subway, a variety of meal choices and only a short walk to Osaka Castle.

If we every travel to Japan again, there is no doubt, we would stay again at any APA Hotels.

The hotel is ok, room was a semi double it was small even by Japan standards as was the miniature bathroom but it's alright if you just need a base to explore from. Positives are it's right next to the metro and there's plenty of restaurants close. Toku toku over the road is good and wa-ta-mi fining round the corner on tanimachi is fantastic, inexpensive and great service.

Advantages and disadvantages

The good: super close to exit 3 of the subway station, easy to find, lots of restaurants around and convenience stores as well. The subway is at a junction point where you can easily hop off to Chuo line and then take Hankyu railway, or go to shopping areas like Shinsaibashi. Walking distance to Osaka castle. Great price for the location. Courteous and helpful hotel staff. A couple of izakayas and pubs nearby for that late night beer if you are up for it.

The bad: no onsen (which is OK), but no washing machine and NO AC!! The last two were the biggest issues. As we were staying there 4 nights we could really do some laundry. For onsen and laundry, what this hotel offers is that you can take your room key to another APA hotel about 1 block away, and use their facilities there. We didn't manage to do this but at least if you are up for it the facilities can be made available. The AC issue was very problematic. It was sooo hot to sleep on the first night (I guess their AC is central), but since we were on the lower floors we did not want to leave the window open. We had to sleep in the bathrobes, kept the exhaust fan in the bathroom on the whole night to keep air circulating.

However, this is still a great hotel for the price I'd paid and the service I received. I would still come here next time, but maybe only during the winter :)

The room was clean and front desk staff were very helpful. Good wifi in the room and lobby area. The hotel is well situated and a nice walk to Osaka Castle - there are some nice restaurants, patisserie and coffee shops on the walk route from the hotel to Osaka Castle.
The hotel is ok for a short trip but the room was tiny and a bit claustrophobic (even by Japan standards). I expect anyone over 6ft would have serious problems with the limited height of the room especially in the bathroom. The decor in the room was a bit dated and the room was poorly lit but was very clean. I found the bed to be uncomfortable, but if you like memory foam type squidgy soft mattress then you may like the bed.
I would recommend this hotel for a short stay (up to 2 days) reasonably affordable and clean.

If you like your bed old and hard as a rock then I guess you will like this place. The beds were very disappointing. I arrived very tired and couldn't believe it when I laid down on the bed. I could not sleep so I had to sleep on top of the blanket it in order to help. I had to call the front desk and get more blankets, after three blankets piled on top of the bed it was finally doable. Also had to ask for an extra pillow. They only give you one small pillow. The bathroom was horrid. It was like this flimsy plastic thing that you stepped into....it reminded me of being on a cruise ship. Also to note that they do not provide you with a wash towel. They provide one body towel and one small hand towel and that is it.
The staff was nice and helpful as far as finding out how to get around town. I will say this if it wasn't for my daughter who is a Japanese student studying in Japan I would have been in bad shape. The staff didn't appear to be able to talk English very well but they spoke to my daughter great.
Also note that it is very confusing getting to this hotel. There are two APA hotels near each other. The other APA hotel is named the Villa APA Hotel. The taxi driver took us to the wrong one and we had to walk two blocks to get to the right hotel. Luckily we didn't have to much stuff to carry at that point and we made it all right.
