Loved the location of this hotel. Beautiful view of the castle. We were within walking distance of downtown but a little off the main street so it was a bit quieter. The hotel had a really nice traditional breakfast every morning. The staff was super helpful and polite. Very very helpful in finding things around Kumamoto. I really enjoyed my time in Kumamoto. Thank you KKR.

The hotel looks right out at the castle. Walking across the street is the park and an incredible art museum. Shopping is in walking distance. The staff were so helpful. There are places to sit and relax. The bed was comfortable and the room clean.

My family had a great stay in a castle-view room. It was spectacular! The location cannot get better, with major malls and restaurants less than 700 meters away. The staff was very courteous. What a refreshing change from all these unattended/automated hotels.

Really nice place in front of Kumamoto castle. However it's about 5-8min walk from convenience store and the path is a bit dark at night, if you're alone should consider this. Apart from that, incredible, spacious and nice place

Service was the best!! We lost a luggage key and only realised it 3 days later. Kobayashi-san assisted us swiftly and even arranged delivery to our last hotel thankfully it got to us before we departed Japan. Once again many thanks to Kobayashi-san!

The view of Kumamoto Castle was excellent; too bad there is still construction going on to repair the castle after the 2016 earthquake. Even though the hotel is the closest to the castle, you will need to walk all the way to the South Gate to enter.

Parking slots are abundant so no worries. There are 3 washing machines and 3 dryers at the laundry room located near reception desk. Beds are comfy. Complimentary water is provided everyday.

The rooms with a view of the Kumamoto Castle are amazing at night as well as day. One of the Top 3 castles in Japan is literally across the street from the hotel. The all you can eat breakfast buffet had the best Japanese selection. Parking was easy without having to go to the basement.

The customer service was really great all around, but one that really stuck out was the parking attendant. He did such a nice job ensuring we had quick and convenient service with parking. We had a beautiful castle view from our room. Really happy with our stay!

This hotel is right next to the Kumamoto castle and provides a great view. There is a bus station right in front and it is a short walk to the street car and entrance to the castle and drinking and eating establishments in town. Hotel has convenient, east to use laundry machines so we caught up with some of our laundry. Rooms wete nice and provided a good view. The breakfast buffet is excellent.

I loved this hotel. The staff were very friendly to my husband and sister and I. The breakfast was delicious, I loved how I was able to have a wonderful Japanese traditional breakfast. It was also very convenient to walk to Kumamoto Castle. It was very quiet, spacious, clean, and I felt safe! I will be staying again!

Althougt it feels like a 5 stars hotel in the 80s but it has kept the ground somewhat updated.
I really enjoy it and the price is really reasonable.

One thing we love this room is nearby the Kumamoto Castle. The amenities provided was so great. There are 4 coin op washer and dryer so this is very convenient when you have a big family of 5 to wash your clothes. The breakfast is traditional Japanese breakfast on the 4th floor. We love the ASO milk which was very creamy to our taste. There is a good space of parking on this property which is a plus. The have a housekeeping everyday. If you need to send out your heavy luggage, they have Yamato services as well. Staff do not speak English but its doable and they did their best to help us and communicate well. Kumamoto is a nice place to stay and will definitely go back if I have a chance to visit again.

Kumamoto castle is just in front of the hotel. It’s a stunning icon but you can see the scares that that the earthquake destroyed. The hotel is 10-15 mins from midtown and quieter. I was a solo traveler but was lucky enough since they gave me a twin bedroom which is spacious for me. The downside was accessing to the laundry where people need to walk in front of the reception. Also, if you expect western breakfast, it’s a bit limited. Overall, I had a good experience with such professional staff who offered the best and traditional services.

Bad: Pillows are so flat that I can’t sleep well. TV seems like 2010 condition, remote control buttons are no sensitve and difficult to navigate.

It's right across from Kumamoto Castle Park. I wish I had booked a room on the castle view side, as there's not much to see from the other side. But the room was nice and remodeled in lovely greens. Very relaxing. I reserved a single room, but was given a twin room. Loved all the space and large bathroom with full suze bathtub.

Beautiful views of Kumamoto Castle day and night with the best breakfast buffet every morning! Loved that they had Kumamoto specific foods on the breakfast buffet and great mix of Japanese and western cuisine. There was ample parking and very easy to get to and from different locations around Kyushu. Bathrooms in the rooms are a little on the older side but still work just fine. Would stay again the next time we visit the area!

Our room had a stunning view of the castle at both day and night. The breakfast buffet was fantastic and staff were friendly and helpful.
If you have limited time in Kumamoto city but want to maximise your sightseeing opportunities, I think this is the perfect base.

A Room With An Outstanding View

It was a very pleasant stay and the view was amazing. From the hotel room, we had a picture-perfect view of Kumamoto Castle. That was a key highlight. The room was comfortable, but the hotel felt too big and formal for the type of travel I was doing. I felt a little out of place, as it is a very elegant event/banquet hotel (clearly designed to host weddings). Nonetheless, it was clean, comfortable, quiet, beautifully located right across the street from the castle, and the staff were exceptionally professional, efficient, and courteous. I parked a car, and the daily rate was reasonable. I would gladly stay at this hotel again.

Staff was friendly and professional. Breakfast buffet was mainly Japanese food but there were Western options - all tasted great. The hotel is right next to Kumamoto castle and I enjoyed breakfast with the great view of the castle. I booked castle view room and I recommend that to all travelers. There is a coin laundry room and no need to bring own detergent. It is close to the center of the city - appx 7 minutes walk from city hall. Room was super clean and spacious and affordable. I recommend this hotel.

Good location

We booked a twin room facing the castle. Unfortunately due to the earthquake in 2016, parts of the castle were destroyed so the castle is undergoing repair works and will continue to be for some time. So the castle view is not as per photos on the website.

Nonetheless the hotel is right in front of a road that leads up to the castle ground and it was a good morning walk up the slope. The hotel is also relatively near the shopping street.

Quite hotel next to the Kumamoto Castle

We traveled with 2 young kids planned to drive for the whole trip so location wasn’t a big concern to us in compare to price at he peak season.

During our stay, we didn’t drive but travel around the city sightseeing spots by foot and tram. The hotel is located at a quite place, about 15mins walk away from the main shopping streets.

The staffs at the reception are nice and helpful.

So overall, we had a pleasant stay there.

Overall, this is a good hotel. It is in a very convenient location (walking distance) to Kimamoto Bus Terminal and the trams (street car) which you can take to the Kumamoto Station and other sightseeing sites. The people at the hotel are very nice and friendly. My only complaint is we had a spider in our room.

目の前のバス停から桜町バスターミナルまで行けて便利です。宿泊したフロアに電子レンジが備えられていたので、夜はコンビニ飯を部屋でいただきました。ライトアップされたお城が部屋から眺められ、とても綺麗でした。また宿泊したいです。
