The Hohenstaufen is located conveniently near the trainstation, but far enough to not be affected by train noise. The old town and main shopping district are in walking distance. The staff is friendly. The breakfast buffet war very good.

Lovely hotel; not too big, not too small. Friendly helpful staff, friendly quiet guests, small but perfectly adequate breakfast. We stayed with our two children in a family room and it was a good size with plenty of room for us all. Stayed in July and it could have done with aircon but not too bad. Parking was on street but right outside, limited to 4hrs during 0800-2000. Pay by phone app made it easy and we were only there overnight so time limit was not an issue. You might need to move your car if you stay longer but there were signs to multi-storey car parks. By train, it’s right opposite the main station. 5-10 min walk from shopping, 10-15min walk from the famous “corner” where the rivers meet and the cable car to the hill fort. Really good location for the price; good value, clean and comfortable. Would happily use them again.

The room was very big. It was very clean and beds were comfortable. There was a little cigarette smell not sure from what since the hotel is non smoking but didn't bother us too much. Breakfast was ok.

Hotel was conveniently located near the train station in a safe and clean area. The Deutsche Eck, rivers, and other attractions are a pleasant 30 minute stroll. I was early for my check-in, but the staff allowed me to store my bags. The room was ready promptly at 2:00. The breakfast service was good with lots of options. The room was clean, modern, but it would have been nice to have a refrigerator in the room. The WiFi was a bit spotty and could only get a strong signal near the room door. Despite these, I would definitely stay again

Stay was fine! Good for the price and location

Staff was nice. Good location right across the street from the train station.
About 20 min walk to the Rhein and Biergartens.
Stayed here so we could easily drive out to Burg and Eltz castle, Cochem castle, and Geierlay bridge. If you decide to rent a car and do the same trip make sure you figure out how a ride from the car rental place back to the hotel. Uber doesn’t exist here and a taxi was very hard to get!

Paper thin walls and ceilings

Nice breakfast but I could hear all that was going on next door, below me and above me. I suspect that maybe people who book via Expedia get the worst rooms (out the back), and frankly they are terrible. Room smelt of damp too.

Great location if arriving by train

Nice hotel in an older building that has been renovated. Very new lift/elevator in building, so don't fear if you're on a higher floor. Room was very warm and stuffy upon our arrival, but very large windows that opened eliminated that problem rather quickly. Beds were nice and comfortable. Front desk people friendly and helpful. Bathroom layout was a bit odd, but manageable. Less than a block from the main train station, very easy to get luggage to and fro. Would certainly stay here again.

Quiet night's sleep, close to train station

This hotel was convenient to the train station, which was our motive for booking it. We got in late and left early and didn't have to walk very far wheeling our luggage. The room was small, and the shower was TINY, but it served it's purpose for one quiet night's sleep. The hotel staff was very helpful and stowed our luggage for the day while we toured by boat.

We spent only one night at the hotel, however we can say it was excellent. Room was impeccable, simple but spacious with comfortable beds. Hotel personnel was in general ok - Gilbert was of great help indicating the best place for ice cream in town and providing other directions. Thanks Gilbert! Breakfast was excellent. The location in the city is convenient - it's not in downtown but a few steps from Hauptbanhof, which makes it an easy 15 minutes walk to the old town for a fraction of the price, the area is tranquil and convenient for transportation - the main bus station is also very close if you don't want to walk or depend on trains.
Only two missing things: A/C and a safe.

Not a bad hotel, except that the rooms are not air conditioned. To a typicall US of A tourist that is a deal breaker. I had the very bad luck of spending 2 nights here in July while a heat wave took the termometer to 99, at night!! and suffered for it. Otherwise the rooms are nicely remodeled, big flat tv, clean sheets and bathroom (tub with half glass curtain, so be careful where you point your hand held shower head!). Not a repeat for me.

Nice hotel on quite street near old town

Hotel is very clean and lovely. It's not a grand hotel, but rather a family style albergo. Common areas are small, but room was large and comfy. Very contemporary clean lines design. Overall great hotel. Don't consider it though if you are handicapped. There is no ramp and bathroom has a step up (why !!!!!!!?????).

I liked it. it was conveniently located. Good food at the hotel restaurant..staff were great but the check out was not. Bike storage was safe and dry.. A variety in breakfast foods and plenty..the hotel is old and the lift opening is too narrow and slow..the hallway is also too narrow. The room was large but the carpet was old..

At a certain point, carpet that is decades old cannot be cleaned anymore. This hotel needs remodeling. The service is good, restaurant is great, price was good. I would probably only recommend this if you are really pinching pennies on your trip.

Location, location, location

Two blocks from the Main Bahnhof so great for travel by train. About 15 minutes to the shores of the Rhine through the interesting promenades of Koblenz. A 7 Euro taxi ride from the KD dock if you're traveling by boat which is a great way to do a \" Rhine river Cruise\" or go up the Moselle. Our only demerit is that the room/bathroom in particular was small but certainly clean etc. A great location for exploring Koblenz and moving about by train or boat.

A very well located hotel which was quite comfortable but in a rather noisy area. It was a hot night and we had to open all the windows which overlook a big square. We had to put a chair in front of the bathroom door as we kept tripping over the ledge going into and out of the bathroom. We wished there had been tea making facilities which even the humblest UK hotel provides. Not sure why they had a locked fridge in the room. The furniture was somewhat worn and cheap looking. The people were nice and helpful. The restaurant was fine.

Dismal hotel in a dismal town

Ignore descriptions of Koblenz as a \"hidden gem\" - the town is dull and down at heel, with a very small area of attraction/ interest that I would certainly not describe as gemlike. Hotel was inexpensive, but felt dismal due to aging decor and location a good walk from the \"main attractions\" of Koblenz (but very handy for the station). It was clean and staff were pleasant, and breakfast was good. But I would recommend neither the town nor the hotel.

An OK place to stay

We stayed in 8 places while on a 13 day trip through Germany and 2-days in Austria. Of those 8 places we would rank this one number 5.

A decent location if you want to be close to the train station. Breakfast was included and in a nice restaurant downstairs. The staff was very helpful and kind, spoke good English, and loaned us a power adapter because we forgot ours. The elevator (lift) is very old, small and sketchy. Included a fan, which was nice for cooling at night, and drying clothes that we needed to wash. We purchased internet to use in our room, but the signal was much too weak (and they were aware before we paid) so we had to use the computer in the lobby.

We stayed here just one night after taking a 5 hour boat ride on the Rhine from Bingan. It is quite a walk from the boat dock, but cabs are inexpensive. The hotel is right next to the train station. The staff wasn't rude, but not very pleasant and didn't speak very good English. But why should all Germans have to speak English.

Hotel im Grunde gut. Aber hat keine eigenen Parkplätze. 18€ am Tag und alle 4h neues Ticket ziehen. Naja.
Ach und das „Hauseigene Restaurant“ war von 3 Nächten 2x für eine Private Veranstaltung geschlossen gehabt. Also im Voraus ein Restaurant buchen.
Positiv: liegt sehr nahe am Bahnhof und ca: 10 min Fußweg vom Zentrum und 15min von der Mosel.

Die Zimmer sind sehr hellhörig. Ein Zimmer neben dem Fahrstuhl sollte unbedingt gemieden werden, da man diesen permanent hört. Das Bett in meinem ersten Zimmer war steinhart. Ich konnte das Zimmer jedoch problemlos wechseln. Das Personal an der Rezeption ist sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist ok, aber nichts Besonderes.
