The beach is not visible from the Hotel but you are right there.....great place to be. Its old but kept very clean and the staff was extremely nice. We will definitely go back

Our room did not have an ocean view, but it was steps away from the beach and nice restaurants. Staff was very helpful and accommodating. Even after checkout, they stored our luggage for us while we went and had lunch. Very friendly staff.

The staff was amazing. It truly was the best part about staying at this hotel. All of the staff were very caring and friendly and welcoming.
The hotel room was very small and had a strong odor of cat urine. The room was not cleaned well.
For the location, the room was perfect, but we would not be staying here. Next time we come back to Miami Beach.

The staff was so friendly! We felt welcome from the start, Alex at the desk was very personable. Jules, our server for breakfast was also amazingly personable and took great care to make sure our breakfasts were perfect both mornings. The rooms are neat and clean. Overall a great stay! We love staying at the Art Deco hotels on the strip, they are a nice change from the large chains.

We had an amazing stay at the Colony Hotel. Great location right in the Art Deco area. The hotel restaurant offered a 20% discount for hotel guest, a complimentary mimosa or coffee each morning, and an affordable breakfast combo for $11- which is unheard of in the Miami Beach area. The staff was superb- they got to know us by name and were always available to assist. At the front desk- Alex, Stephanie and Israel to name a few and Julie Ann was an amazing server at the restaurant.
Would recommend the Colony for anyone visiting the area.

We received early check in. Service was fantastic. The location was prime. We were able to people watch and our king ocean front suite provide amazing sunset without leaving bed. Bed was comfortable. Water was hot. I have absolutely no complaints and look forward to future stays here.

The hotel is a great choice for a budget stay. The hotel is showing its age but the rooms are very clean and the staff is amazing!! There are \"no frills\" or \"extras\" but is you are looking for a good place to sleep at night and explore the city/beach during the day it's an excellent choice.

Israel started the trip off right by helping us out when we were confused about the valet situation due to Ocean Drive being shut down. And the valet was wonderful and very patient with us too. It got only better from there. The decor of the place is just beautiful and very imaginative. I felt like I had walked back into the 1920s. The restaurant is a great place for a date (I was with my daughter but definitely want to bring my fiance with me next time). My only suggestion is to upgrade the old electronic locks. They are terrible. It takes many attempts to get into the room. A similar lock at a Holiday Inn in Fort Lauderdale caused us to be locked out twice waiting a hour for maintenance because they are just not dependable. Other than that, the stay would have been perfect.

Smaller rooms but I traveled solo so for me the room was perfect. It was clean, it had a safe, iron with table, blow dryer, closet space, and a mini fridge. It met all my needs. Even with it being on Ocean drive I wasnt kept up at night when i wanted to sleep. Overall great stay. Would return for sure.

William and Fernando were the gentleman that helped me during my stay and they were phenomenal. Special mention to William, we wanted to go to the beach to watch the sunrise when we got back from the clubs at 6am and he gave us folding chairs and towels. He was so cool, so sweet, and such a nice energy to interact with. The hotel room itself was very simple, exactly what we needed (a place to sleep).. it was clean and aesthetic, a little small, but if that doesn’t bother you then i say it was PERFECT! i will be staying here again and again because the pricing, hospitality, and location are unbeatable, especially with Montanas in the lobby. I missed having brunch at Montanas, so I am hoping to come back very, very soon!

The location is great, but the room size is really small and for the price it is quite pricey! We are a family of four and got a two twin bedroom. The space was extremely tight, with no place to even open your suitcase and leave on the floor. No desk or table or even a chair! The bathroom was small with a sink that did not even have a ledge. Where does one keep their toiletries? Not even a medicine cabinet or a shelf to keep your tooth brush and paste! The staff were nice and everything else worked out. I would recommend that management at least put a shelf in the bathroom. I don't think they can do anything about the room size!

The location is obviously unbeatable, but the hotel itself is in terrible shape. The rooms are very small, the bathrooms even smaller and nothing has been renovated in a long time. Even the beds were bad, so much so that we barely slept. This was our first time in South Beach; we'll definitely go back but we won't stay at that hotel again.

Only complaint I have is that one of the staff signed my breakfast bill for me. So I was trying to read the tip portion and didn't realize it was an \"extra trip,\" I was trying to get it up to a percentage and when it hit $20 they signed it as if I was taking too long. Later on that night I realized all the restaurants were similar, and this was additional gratuity. We had a back to back schedule so I couldn't bring it up with staff - and it was Christmas time so I figured a little extra for the staff - but still this is something that should be watched out for by visitors.

It was a shame to experience this because beside this, the other staff was super friendly especially Israel. He gave us a tour of the place and was very accommodating. The restaurants provided discounts for staying at the hotel. The views, the ambience, the convenience of being next to a 24 hr CVS, and the Scarface theme was wonderful. Again it's a shame we experienced this from one of our waitresses because everything else was amazing.

Christmas time was very festive and streets closed to vehicles for that week. Most places were alfresco.

The Colony Hotel has a great location—right on the promenade, which was very convenient for walking and exploring the area. The check-in staff member was extremely kind and welcoming, which made a good first impression.

That said, parking was a bit of a hassle. We had to park a few blocks away in a garage that cost $20 per day, and walking several blocks with our suitcases wasn’t ideal.

The room itself had some mixed aspects. The bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable, which was a big plus. However, the shower temperature was very difficult to regulate—it was either extremely hot or very cold, with no easy balance. We also wanted to watch a movie, but the TV remote only worked to turn the TV on and off; none of the other buttons functioned. Additionally, there were no washcloths provided in the room, which was inconvenient.

Overall, the location and comfortable bed were highlights, but a few maintenance and amenity issues took away from the experience.

We stayed in an oceanfront suite at The Colony Hotel, and it was such a fun, iconic Miami Beach experience. One of my favorite parts was having a view of the famous neon sign from two different windows — such a classic South Beach moment — though lights on three of the letters were out during our stay, which did dampen some of our photos in the evening.

We also loved looking out over the main street and the ocean and taking in all the activity day and night. Art Basel had a tent set up that blocked part of the ocean view, but we could still see enough that it didn’t spoil things. The windows were pretty dirty, but it was nice that they opened fully, letting in fresh air and the sounds of the street below.

The history and character of the hotel really added to the charm. It’s one of those places you instantly recognize from movies, TV shows, and photos of South Beach, and staying there made us feel like we were stepping into that world. We also appreciated how the hotel embraces its connection to Scarface — it adds a fun, nostalgic touch to the experience.

At checkout, the front desk staff was genuinely warm and made a point to ask if we had enjoyed our stay. It was a thoughtful touch and a nice way to wrap up our visit.

Overall, a memorable stay in a truly iconic Miami Beach spot.

Beach was 150 metres away, across a park. But easy to reach. Very loud, at front of hotel. I used my “white noise” phone app to block bar noise from just below my room. Room was compact. Nice rainfall shower. Food was good too. Everything very expensive of course.

Check in when great got in earlier than expected. But the tv remote wouldn’t work tv. When to front desk for assistance he said he would be right up. Hour goes by no show went back to desk no one there. Room was above an unknown night club 1:45am no sleep went and asked if the music ever stopped. Was told it would in about 5 minutes. 2:45 it finally stopped. Room was nice and clean.

Mariana at the front desk was delightful and so helpful in getting our car valet parked and fixing our TV remote! Our room at the Colony was indeed tiny, with older creaky beds that could use new pillows, but it was scrupulously clean and neat. Towels and linens were immaculate. We were only missing actual conditioner and body lotion from the usually expected toiletries.

We were looking for an authentic taste of Art Deco South Beach and this put us right in the middle of it at a very reasonable price! The vibe is priceless and the vintage elevator a treat! Of course the Scarface mannequin in the white caddy convertible parked out front is charming 😀👍

We will definitely return for a longer visit when the opportunity arises!

Great location, but rideshares wont pick up there. Service was fine. Elevator is scary and broke my nail on the metal gate. Beds are not comfortable - super soft and you can feel every spring. Fridge barely worked. No soap in the bathroom.

I had a pleasant experience at this hotel. The breakfast service was excellent, and the staff was friendly and attentive. The elevator was small, but it worked well. However, there was a minor issue with the bathroom door in my room. It didn’t lock, and when I called the front desk, no one came to check on it. Despite this small inconvenience, the dinner was delicious. Asked for a wake up call never received it.

The only positives about my stay were the comfortable bed and the large TV. Unfortunately, everything else made this one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had.

The first room I was assigned (Room 100) had a strong odor that smelled like a gutter, and the shower curtain was covered with mold. At first, I assumed it was just cleaning chemicals, but the smell persisted throughout the day and made the room uncomfortable to stay in.

Later that evening, a different front desk attendant kindly offered me another room (Room 115). This room was cleaner and much better overall, but when we returned from the beach and dinner, the air conditioning had stopped blowing cold air. There was a fan on the ceiling, but it didn’t help much since there was no ventilation in the room, and it became extremely humid overnight.

The bathroom had a small window, but it was screwed shut, so there was no way to let in fresh air. When I asked the front desk if they could open it, they declined, saying it couldn’t be done. It’s disappointing, as it would only take removing one screw to make the room more livable.

Suggestion for management: Please consider adding proper ventilation to your rooms. Even installing a small exhaust fan or allowing the bathroom window to open would make a big difference for guest comfort.

When I did a Google search for art deco in Miami, photos of the Colony Hotel kept popping up so we decided to stay here in the heart of the art deco district and we're glad we did. The neon sign is iconic and the Scarface themed speakeasy in the basement is super cool. Although it lacks a few amenities of more modern hotels, it was a wonderful experience to stay at the Colony Hotel where Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr. stayed back in the day. Kudos to the great staff especially Israel and Fernando for making our stay so memorable.
