We were looking for a reasonably priced, pet friendly hotel to stay at for the weekend. When I originally booked it, for some reason, I was thinking it was $80 something per night. If that were the case, then I wouldn't complain, but it ended up costing way more. We ended up adding a third night and he said the balance, and I thought that was for all 3 nights and thought \"yup that sounds right\". He didn't give me a receipt or anything. When I checked my credit card, there were 2 separate charges, one was for around $280, and the second was for around $230. I thought they accidentally charged me twice, but no. One charge was for the first 2 nights that I had booked online, and the second was for the additional third night. It was a Sunday into Monday, so it didn't make sense it cost twice as much. When we went to check out there was no one even in the office, so I couldn't dispute it with them. No one should pay more than $80/night to stay here. The room was falling apart. The floor boards were lifting, and they had apparently tried to screw them back down, but there were edges still sticking up, so you couldn't walk around barefoot. The bathroom door didn't close properly, and the shower curtain was gross. There were some sketchy characters hanging around, so I was glad we had our dog with us. Like I said, if the total was $280 for 3 nights, I got what I paid for, but not for over $500.

Pretty centrally located property and reasonably close to Ogunquit, Kennebunkport, Wells Beach, and all the other most important nearby towns. It is however, really not very well marked, along the road and is actually rather difficult to locate especially at night, and they should REALLY invest in better signage if they want their guests to find them easier.
This property as a whole is definitely rather outdated in most ways, in fact still even uses metal keys, but it was basically reasonably clean overall, and was basically adequate for the single night we were staying there, but I would definitely want much more for any longer stays as it really didn't offer much more than a place to hang your head for the night.
These rooms really do need guest use safes provided which they lack for no good reason. Additionally this hotel has a very high step up into the room which was very difficult and somewhat unsafe for mobility challenged individuals, like myself. Additionally, the quality of provided soap and shampoo was also rather lacking as compared to other hotels we regularly encountered throughout this area.
Some guests were having a campfire the night we were staying there which looked interesting so that is available to those interested, and it had basketball courts that were being used as well earlier in the day.

The mattress was on a wire spring set on boards. Every time I moved it slid off the box!The mattress was comfortable.
The area was quiet!
I should have requested a first floor room. There was no elevator and it wasn’t easy for a 76 year old woman to carry a suitcase up the stairs.

PSA: Double check the coffee pot

Front desk staff were friendly, there is plenty of parking, and when we entered the room, we thought it was cute. The room was clean, but we did notice that there was a bit of coffee left in the coffee maker that had molded. I removed the coffee bag from the top, and brought the pot to the front desk. I’m pretty sure they just washed it and gave it back to me. The rest of our stay was good. We were there for 2 nights, and overall was a decent place to stay.

When I checked in , I went to pay and was told it was charged already to the card I had entered to hold the reservation. I reserved to pay at the property when I arrived , but was told that my credit card had been charged the balance already and hope that wasn’t a problem. The flooring was held together with tape and had cracks or missing pieces. Floor was dirty Room smelled musty until had air conditioner running for a while. Room had cobwebs and moths in the room I took pictures to prove everything. Holes in the walls.

Pictures and information online are deceiving. It is a run down establishment in need of an overhaul and clean up. No hot or even warm water in the sink. The shower got warm water after about 5 minutes. Mold on the bench under the air conditioner. Chairs gave a feeling of being unclean. The bed was clean. The pool has weeds all around it. The building, stairs up to the 2nd floor, balcony carpet, etc. all need to be cleaned, painted, vacuumed, etc. Needs TLC. Glad it was just a 1 night stay.

One of the Worst Hotel Experiences I’ve Ever Had

Our stay here was nothing short of awful from start to finish.The cleanliness was appalling. The sheets had black speckles on them from the day we arrived, and they remained there all week—clear evidence the bedding was never changed. The floors were so filthy that we had to wear shoes to and from the shower at all times. My two-year-old sons played on the floor and their feet would literally turn black. The photo below doesn’t show justice of how dirty they actually got. The kitchen area was equally unacceptable. There was a sign asking guests to wash dishes, yet no sponge or dish soap was provided, and the kitchenware was rusty and grimy. Totally unusable. Housekeeping was a nightmare. Unless you specifically put out a sign, no one came to refresh towels or tidy the room. Even when we did put out the sign, it was hit-or-miss—sometimes no one came at all, and we would have to track down staff just to get toilet paper or towels. We often received only two towels for four guests. On top of that, the condition of the room itself was unsafe. The metal grates over the floor heating vents were loose and falling off, creating a tripping hazard. This property is in desperate need of deep cleaning, better maintenance, and staff training. We went and spoke to a manager to request cleaning and were told “we don’t do that our website says limited cleaning no hotel up here cleans the floors everyday” but this is not true we come every year and have stayed elsewhere and had clean rooms.

The buildings are in need of repair. Even the toilet paper holder was broken. Everything was stained and staff had to be asked for towels and toilet paper almost daily. Pool area was pretty gross. There is no gym, the basketball court is just one hoop on some uneven pavement. I would never stay there again.

I highly suggest people do not stay at this property. The room was very dirty stained ceiling tiles, chipped paint, broken items in room. There used to be a trolley stop here, but the trolley driver told me the owner is not nice and told them never to go on his property again. Now you have to walk a very long way to a trolley stop. And it's virtually impossible to park in town on the weekends. They turn the light on the road sign off completely so you can't find the hotel when you are returning at night. Completely dark. There was a broken lamp in my room. A gap in the doorway that you could virtually see through. The owner obviously does not take care of the property. It was also very loud.The walls are paper thin. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

Wife's night mare for our anniversary

We were there early, didn't expect the room to be ready. We left for 2 1/2 hours returning 15 minutes before time. we waited patiently, till they decided to put us in another room.

Entering the living room no blinds for privacy. Seem to have paint stains on engineered floor. No throw rugs to wipe your feet in stormy weather. No Hanging closet or other method to hang a suit.
Bathroom , Bathtub had a hole in it that had a half ass repair.
Around base boards was not clean behind the toilet on the floor it was dirty. There were tiny bugs running around the sink area when we returned from our evening out.
Need a hook in the bathroom to hang.
I wish I had thought to take pictures. I didn't expect anyone would ask. I will know better in the future.

I reserved because of amenities listed, 1 being fitness facilities. The person at the check in said there was none and was never as far as he knew. Everything about this place needs a complete overhaul!
It is a non smoking hotel, but you would never know it! The staff workers were very nice. We actually tried to get another place right away, but did stay for Friday night. The pool is not cared for enough. We would have stayed longer but moved on because of all of the above. We would like a refund for the false advertising that led us to choose this place.

Our stay was ok, place looked a bit run down on the outside and many sketchy looking people stayed here during our stay (drinking and smoking in groups outside even after midnight). Bathroom was dirty, poop stains on wall/bags, shower had clumps of blonde hair by drain (we all have dark hair) and shower curtain reeked of urine. We did not trust going in the pool therefore didn’t. Beds were comfortable and sheets were clean, also room itself seemed clean, there was old food and drinks from other guests left in fridge though. It was only one night so we stayed but wouldn’t stay again.

As we were waiting to check in 2 older women were in front of us who didn’t speak fluent English but the person at the desk was very helpful and accommodating. If ur reading this or other reviews than you know this place will be disappointing! Let me say after being stuck here for 3 days bc no other places had openings we felt unsafe, the rooms are made cheap with strange fake wood crappy floor and old bathroom. Loud ac and the 2 bedrooms suites have the bare minimum! No tvs in the bedrooms. No ac. The only tv and ac were in the small main room. We had no cleaning lady at all the 4 days we were there! The only plus was the nice big pool! But it was very dirty the first day we swam. Second time it was better. Do not spend ur money here. I hate to say that. Bc we booked it bc they take pets but pay a little more and stay somewhere safe and nicer! U will be upset you wasted ur money. Oh. And no view. Except of parking lot!!

This was extremely disappointing. There was a man lurking near our room so we asked to change to a different room which, thankfully the staff did. However, the second room had dirt in the corners and a hair on the toilet seat, even after it claimed to have been cleaned! we were so uncomfortable given the condition we would not go back and do not recommend.

Stairs to second floor are not well lit. Doors could have better locking sytems, bed was broken on one side, we had to move furniture in order to plug fridge in, seems to be a lot of people living in the units. Water temp in shower took forever to adjust between temps. Ac was extremely loud. Floor panels are popped up and i kept tripping on them. House keeping never came the few days we stayed. All was good with just a couple of exceptions.
1: coffee maker had coffee pod but no cups, creamers or sugars.
2: leak in shower head sprayed water on ceiling tiles. Tiles were blackened which indicates an ongoing undressed issue. Perhaps none else has reported this issue.

Has potential but not at current price point

We stayed in a two bedroom room. The room was freshly painted. It did have a 2 burner stove, microwave and a mini fridge. However it was 48 degrees both nights we were there and the rooms have individual thermostats and not one of them worked. Called the main office and got no reply. Told the housekeeper and nothing. Ended up going to purchase electric blankets. Next, no outlets in the bathroom and all bedroom outlets are behind heavy furniture that guests shouldn’t be moving.

Price was great for only a two minute drive to Ogunquit. We got wood and had a fire in the fire pit. Next time we will use the gas grill(s). Nice quiet beach right down the street too we didn't know it was there until we checked in, and food across the street. Great staff, our room seemed newly remodeled. Very clean (it was floors not carpet). We will always stay here.

The low price, but you get what you pay for. It took forever for the hot water. The plug for the coffee maker was underneath the counter, the cord was to short to reach, so had to put the coffee maker on the floor. Only a sheet to cover yourself at night. The step up to the room was very high. Anyone with bad knees or hips would have a problem. The room is run down terribly.

Laminated flooring was held down with screws in the middle of the floor. Obviously, no carpet so reverberant and noise from floor above. Towel bar was missing in bathroom and instead of being repaired, the screw holes were filled and painted over. The whole room could stand a new paint job. Old entrance door hardware with low security locksets and no safety chain. Unusual metal base under bed that was not recessed far enough so kept being kicked by both of us. No extra blanket available for bed, could have used one. Heat pump AC/heater emitted foul smell when pace in heating mode.

Liked: Bed was comfortable. Wi-Fi worked fine. Unlike most motels with fixed soap dispensers, there were lots of individual soaps and shampoo and conditioner. Plenty of hot-water for the shower. There was a refrigerator in the room. Price was as low as could be expected this time of year. We liked the Maine Diner for breakfast, just up the road a few miles.

Need to change of management!

The owners take no pride in their property. Junk cars and debris, badly maintained, not enough irons for everyone so we had to buy our own. they advertise housekeeping but they don’t have enough staff to clean every room, our room had trash underneath the vanity and in the drawers. They boast about their heated pool being 83 degrees but it was cold. In the right hands this place has potential. It’s shameful to see a nice piece of property treated poorly. I realize times were tough for motels but there’s no reason for junk cars and golf carts, broken windows and not providing towels daily. I hate criticizing people trying to make a living, but the owners need to know they can do better for pennies on the dollar. Irons, daily Housekeeping, clean up the property. Also, other than the pool there’s nothing resort about this place. I don’t even have swings for the kids. If you’re traveling and you need a cheaper room for the night, I guess it’s OK, but if you’re looking for a fun clean place for the kids, Passover this place!

Not a pleasant stay at all. The guy checking us in was nice, thats only positive. In a 3 day stay we never seen maid, trash was piled up, had to go to front desk everyday for towels. Room had a bad odor. Coffee left in pot from guests before us. List goes on and on.

This property is great for a family. They had a pool, tennis court, basketball hoop, grills, and a place to sit by a fire pit at night. The beach is in driving distance on Miles Road about 1.5 miles or more. There is a family style restaurant Nextdoor, which was convenient. This is a resort that seems to be a work in progress. It could use some landscaping, updates, and in general, some TLC.

We loved staying at the me Majestic Regency Resort. It had all the amenities that you need to make your stay more enjoyable.. The swimming pool was larger than most pools that I see at motels, and there was a tennis court, and barbecues so that you could cook food if you wanted to. There were also two fire pits. The trolley went right past the hotel so you did not need to use your car after you checked in to get to Ogunquit or the beach. The room we had was spacious, clean and we had two chairs right outside the room so that we could sit outside. There was plenty of free parking.

This place is very run down. Our first room (that should be a signal right there) had no shower curtain, no toilet paper, a dirty microwave, food left in the refrigerator and the seating in the kitchen and living area were broken. When we were moved to our 2nd room, it was better but the floors were dirty. Our friends didn't have a shower head - just like a faucet aerator. There are no smoking signs around stating no smoking within 25 feet of the building yet guests were smoking right outside their doors and the staff was too. The signage and landscaping are dirty and overgrown.

The room was filthy. There was no shower head nor trash can in the bathroom. Water pressure was poor. We didn’t use the grills or fire pits as it was crowded and people didn’t know how to take turns.
It is near the beach and the trolley stops right outside the motel. The area is beautiful, quiet and safe. Great dining options nearby.

THIS PLACE IS ABSOLUTELY AWFUL!!! Nothing majestic or resortlike at all! Please read all reviews esp on google before booking
I wish I had! My son and I spent one terrible night at the place and it nearly ruined our vacation. The room is absolutely disgustingly dirty like hasnt been really cleaned in ages. No proper locks on the door, I pushed a chair against the door bc I was scared. The door could easily be opened. There seems to be transients staying at this place who stared at my child and I making us very uncomfortable. The floors are coming up and habe screws holdi.g them down in spots. The ac is a window unit which spunds like a airplane taking off. Black mold in the bathroom!!! Stains and holes all over! Bugs of a variety flying and crawling around all night. This place needs more than a renovation ir needs to be turn down!! There is NOTHING good any this place!!!!!!

Will never stay here again. The room was dirty, we didn't have hot water, the phone and lamp didn't work, the railing to the pool was loose and unsafe, the door handle was sharp and my husband cut himself and housekeeping was scarce. Location was convenient..that's all this place has going for it.

Did not like this property. The rooms and the grounds on the web site were not what the web site depicted. There was smoking on the balcony’s and it was clearly posted, no smoking. The furniture in the rooms looked like they were purchased at a tag sale. The web site said renovated rooms, but all it was only new flooring which was disgustingly dirty. I had to throw out my white socks because they were filthy. Did not enjoy & will never stay again. What a waste of money!

Price was excellent, the property needed money put into it badly. Beat up tub, stained, really stained bathroom ceiling tiles, mismatched paint on the walls. But, clean, comfortable beds , nice setting, BBQ's and fire pits, beautiful outdoor pool. It would be a shame to milk this resort without investing in it.

This property needs a lot of renovation and attention. It is rundown, dirty and visually unpleasant. The odor as you enter the room is musty and moldy and it does not go away. The bathroom had hairs in the tub/shower. We did not get a decent night sleep because of the odor and how loud the ac unit was. It was unacceptable and we left the property after the first night of a two night stay. We will not return there.

May return since it’s dog friendly, otherwise no.

Overall it was a good experience, and we were happy they were dog friendly. The bed was very comfortable and used the sheet system that does not have a bedspread—so very clean in that respect. There were only 2 pillows, and no hairdryer or extra pillows in the room. I was able to ask at the office for a hairdryer finally, and might have been able to get extra pillows but the office was rarely staffed. This was the last weekend the hotel was open for the season, so that could be it.
We are not fussy, although the place is in need of some updating and renovations. What was most concerning to us was there was no bolt lock on the door, and the door knob was somewhat loose. Our room was on the ground floor and this did not seem very safe.
