Ending our trip at The Boathouse Phuket felt like a miracle. The resort sits directly on Kata Beach — the cleanest beach we experienced in Phuket, and far less crowded than other areas.

The breakfast was the best I’ve ever had at a hotel — freshly ordered and served instead of a typical buffet. Service throughout the resort was amazing, and the happy hour craft cocktails were fantastic.

Love love love this place. Luxury at its finest.

This hotel was absolutely stunning. The moment we arrived, you can see the clear sea straight through the lobby. The staff was extremely friendly, helpful in making recommendations, arranging transportation, and genuinely cared about our trip. The pool was small but it’s a beach front property. The area is also near alot of activities near the Kata Beach.

One of the best hotels we have stayed in. The boutique nature of this hotel set it apart from everything around it. The business of the streets around were forgotten and the hotel was a tranquil retreat. Direct access to the beach is a gem.

Do note, the sunloungers outside the hotel on the beach are not part of the hotel but they're very cheap and if you can't get a space by the pool (which was never actually a problem, even in the middle of January) you can pay to be there.

Breakfast was sublime, dinner was sublime and the cooking class is a must!

Outstanding stay. Great hotel in a fantastic location on the beach front.

The staff, all of them, were anazing. Never been treated so well.

Breakfast was a la carte but you could order what you liked and as much as you like. We had an evening meal there too was superb and setting was romantic by night.

Rooms were lovely and had all you needed included toiletries, iron and ironing board, fridge and 4 bottles of water daily. Water machines are available in the hotel too.

No hesitation in recommending this hotel for a stay.

Amazing boutique resort

As we prepare to check out, we feel it’s only right to share our thoughts on this wonderful resort. We booked two beach suites for 11 days and, before making our decision, conducted extensive research on over 20 different resorts across Phuket. Our needs were simple: a beachfront resort with direct beach access, located in an area where we could walk around and explore. The Boathouse ticked all the boxes, and we are extremely pleased with our choice.

What truly sets this resort apart is the exceptional service. Every single member of the staff goes above and beyond to ensure guests are comfortable and well looked after. While we’re tempted to name specific individuals, we’re equally afraid of leaving someone out — so we’ll simply say: thank you to the entire team and management. You all deserve praise for creating such a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Kata Beach, where the resort is located, is perfect for those seeking a quieter, more relaxed environment. It’s not a party scene, but it offers plenty of restaurants, shops, and charming spots to wander around. Since we stayed in April, the heat was quite intense most of the time — but with the beach just steps away and the pool within reach, a refreshing dip was always available.

A few things to note: the beach is public, but sunbeds can be rented. There are also three restaurants right on the beach just outside the hotel, as well as a great beachfront bar/restaurant that stays open late.

This is the second time staying at the Boathouse. It’s an excellent hotel with amazing staff who remember you and the room number you are staying in. It only has 39 rooms so it has a unique boutique feel to it. The rooms are very comfortable, although parts of the bathroom were starting to look a little tired, but this didn’t affect the overall quality. The breakfast is amazing, you can order a little or as much as you want. We ate dinner here twice and although it is a little pricey it’s well worth it. The hotel is an oasis in what can be a very busy area, it’s walkable to many restaurants and shops. I would highly recommend it!

The property is under lot of renovation, and wasnt communicated with us prior to the visit. It was noisy during the day even by the pool side, construction all the time. Outside elevator hall also under construction, quite dangerous for guest to walk through. Inside room many thing broken, hair dryer was not working, there are no toilet paper in thr room. Overall not good experience.

I have to to comment on our stay at The Boathouse hotel. Not only were the accommodations beautiful, clean, and exactly as described. But, the staff was unbelievably kind and helpful to us. I got sick on my second day in Phuket (not from the hotel, but from a fruit smoothie in the local market). They not only asked about me every day, but they sent boiled rice and toast whenever we asked. Housekeeping was so accommodating with our schedule considering I was in the room sick the whole time. And, lastly, they let us stay extra hours on the day of our departure because I still wasn’t 100%. I cannot say enough, good things about our experience here, do not hesitate to book at the Boathouse hotel. You will not be disappointed!

Not what I expected. I came to the Boathouse Phuket by a recommendation of a friend but it didn’t leave to my expectations. Yes must admit location on the beach is great, pool is nice and front desk service was outstanding. But the restaurant service is Terrible, the bed is hard as wood, the rooms need renovation and there is simply no lobby and the restaurant inside seating is stuffy. So NO I would not recommend it for the price it is. You will get much better value in other beach hotels in Phuket.

This was our first time back in Thailand since Covid and our first stay at The Boathouse in Kata beach. It did not disappoint! We had seen the hotel before having walked past it on previous trips to Phuket and had always thought it looks it really nice. It is a fantastic hotel. I would highly recommend it. The staff are amazing, they are extremely helpful and friendly. They will go out of their way to make sure that you have a great time at the hotel. I was a little apprehensive about the breakfast being a la carte rather than a buffet, but the food they have on offer is amazing and is cooked very quickly and you can order as much or as little as you want with no qualms from the staff. We stayed in a Seaview Terrace room, we had a terrace outside with a couple of sunbeds and a private outside with some chairs to sit out on. The room was very comfortable with a great private bathroom. We had dinner once at the hotel and while it is a bit expensive in comparison to outside local restaurants, the food is amazing and service fantastic. I would recommend booking in advance if you want to eat there. The pool is a little small but big enough to have a dip when you get hot and also the sea is right outside the hotel. We went the week before Christmas last year and it wasn't too busy at the hotel and there were adequate sun beds. It is easy walking distance to shops and restaurants, but is like an oasis in a busy town. We liked it so much we have booked to go again this year!

The Boathouse Hotel on Kata Beach, is a wonderful place to unwind. The location is ideal, with the beach just a stone’s throw away. The bedroom was not only spacious but also impeccably clean and remarkably quiet, ensuring a peaceful night’s rest. The daily room cleaning service was a welcome touch, ensuring our comfort was a top priority.

However, while the physical aspects of the hotel were impressive, it did feel like it lacked a certain charm or “soul.” The management could elevate the guest experience by paying attention to the finer details that can truly make a difference in a hotel stay. It’s often the small touches that set exceptional hotels apart from the rest. These nuances are vital for creating a memorable experience for guests.

Fantastic boutique hotel - right on the beach. Staff exceptional particularly the manager & reception team in our case could not have been more helpful and attentive. Loved our 4 nights here 9and we moved from another hotel). Kata was a lot busier than I expected but the hotel is a lovely little sanctuary. Breakfast overlooking the bay was amazing. We had dinner one evening which was nice but quite pricey. If we go back to Phuket we will stay at this hotel.

The hotel located on the best part of Kata beach, it was clean, well maintained, friendly staff.

The bed are comfortable however the pillows were stiff.

The breakfast was a la carte menu. the food choices were limited and we couldn’t get a proper cappuccino as much as we tried.

We loved the fact that there was no smoking in the pool or dining area.

The area outside the hotel was rundown and not much to do.
However the beach was great and we could not fault the hotel.
Would recommend staying here.

I had an awesome stay. Things may not have been perfect (when are they ever?) but the overall time was perfect for me.
My hotel room looked straight out to sea and the island. It completed fantasy in my mind of what my Thailand vacation should look like. The room was beautiful and the air conditioner was magic after being out in the warm humid air.
The food was delicious and creative, offering a spice palate that was just right for me.
The happy hour cocktail pricing allowed me to try their selections and I could have stayed there all day with their creativity.
The Staff were warm, welcoming and always smiling. Felt right at home.
But the thing I just all hotels by is the bed. :) And I loved the bed, having such good night sleeps. I really wish I could have stayed longer.
Thanks to everyone there, I'd go back in a heartbeat.

The hotel was very conveniently located by the beach, close to all the surfing schools (one of the many reasons we chose it). The service was awesome and the hotel was very modern and clean. We had all the necessary amenities we needed and the staff were very attentive.

The only downside is the travel time from the airport to the hotel and also to get around the city area is a little pricey. But other than that would definitely come back!

Check in was efficient and welcoming. Hotel was full due to CNY so no room upgrade as the ocean suite looked fabulous. We had an ocean view which had the view we were based on the ground floor so could walk to the beach from our room. Room very clean and plenty of towels and I thought the turn down service was a guide touch. Restaurant had a good choice and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable on the products and where they were sourced. Pool view over the Bay I could of stayed there all day. We didn’t use the spa but did look at it. I will be staying here again as I couldn’t fault it.

Boutique hotel on the beach

This is a boutique hotel, and they do pay attention to detail. The hotel itself has lots of charm and all the staff (pool, reception, cleaning, restaurant) were always there to serve. It has a nice vibe. The staff was always engaging with us- trying to ensure our stay was perfect. The pool was really nice, and you’re right on the beach. The hotel has good food, breakfast is really good. If you want to eat out, you can just exit the hotel and it’s a minute walk on either side to find restaurants or a mini mart. Highly recommend this hotel.

The Boathouse staff go out of their way to ensure things are perfect. The check-in was different. A ocean view sofa by the water with a complimentary drink and snack. Make sure to get a balcony room not just sea view. Beds super comfy and complimentary movie and wifi. Would stay again.

The Boathouse is by FAR the most gorgeous Resort I have stayed in -- i cannot fault anything . Location was fabulous , Staff were ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL , Food WORLD CLASS . I will most definately be back .
