Staff at front desk were rude and laughed in my face when telling me they would not accept my virtual Apple Card on site …. After accepting it online to make the booking. When I questioned their policy they would not show me where it was posted in their site. It was an awful experience.

The reason for my score was that when we arrived early I asked if my room was by some chance ready. The female at the counter said no and took my information and then said that she would call me if it was ready early then the 4pm check in. We walked around town and came back about 3:40 pm went up to counter where the girl was no where to be found. We asked another person who said that room was still not ready. I said okay and that we will be sitting right outside in the front and to let us know. At 4pm when check in time is standard. I went to counter and what do you know! Room was miraculously ready. Now mind you no call or no walking about 10 feet to where we were sitting to let us know room was ready. No I had to go back up to counter to inquire. As far as the complex I couldn’t tell you because we were placed in a totally separate building off of the main premises.

The bed was very comfortable with ample pillows. The view was supposedly a city view, but we still had an ocean view while overlooking the gardens and pool. The premises is well maintained and the location is quiet and right across from the beach. I would 100% recommend this location and building.

My wife and I drove down to Santa Barbara to celebrate her birthday. She had never been before. She is also 6 months pregnant so we couldn’t walk very far or long. Harbor View Inn is in the perfect location for Santa Barbara visitors right off Cabrillo and State Street. We walked to Funk Zone and all the restaurants we chose to eat at.
We hung out by the pool a lot which was super refreshing.
The room was gorgeous and cozy also. No complaints. We’ll definitely stay here in the future.

Overall we had an amazing experience. Location can't be beat. The downside was that the bathroom rooms were pretty out of date. I was bummed because I chose this hotel because of the sauna and hot tub and the hot tub was down by the sauna, and then the pool was Hot tub was really dirty. We love how walkable the hotel is. I'd stay there again, but felt a like it should be a little more up to date.

We had a great stay in almost every way. We did take a star away because we were disappointed with the omission of bottled water that we were supposed to go the front desk to purchase. In most Inns we have stayed at, one bottle of water per day is a common.

We loved staying in Santa Barbara at the Harbor View Inn. The bathroom was by far the best hotel bathroom we have ever used. The patio was lovely with a beautiful wisteria tree, the passing train (not loud) and the wonderful Mountain View. We love our visits to Santa Barbara and will stay at the Harbor View Inn again, for sure.

Great location near the beach. 15ish minute walk from teh main downtown of Santa Barbara. Property was fine, nice pool, okay gym, but rooms/building a little dated and falls into 3 star quality overall by pure hotel definition. Staff were friendly. Our door key lock ran out of battery so despite going down with full hands to get new keys, we had to call another guy, who had to call another guy, and 20 mins later we got into our room. The room was large but again, a bit dated in the style.

We got stuck in a building a block behind the main hotel, but on the plus side it was clearly new, spacious, and immaculate. The pool is a joke compared to how the photos make it look, probably measures 30 x 20 feet. Four or five adults paddling around and it felt full. Nevertheless, we enjoyed a quick dip. Also cut it short due to blaring pop music all around the pool, for some reason management thinks we all need to listen to Rihanna and Justin Bieber at moderate high volume all day. Couldn’t really nap or read because of this unfortunate assumption. Not a resort, but a well-staffed, clean and very well located hotel. Recommended with just a few caveats.

This is a wonderful, independently owned inn located in the center of a very walkable area. The room was recently renovated and felt like we were the first guests due to its spotless appearance. The staff was kind and helpful. The pool and spa were lovely amenities. Everything was great!

My compliant is that the main lobby was further away and there was only one pool/hot tub that was also about a blockish away and we weren’t able to get in because it was full. For so many wings/locations- this hotel needs updated amenities like more pool or other areas in each wing.

The hotel location was perfect, literally right in front of stern’s wharf. Staff was nice and the rooms were clean. Just be aware that there is two buildings. The main building and the north building. The north building isn’t on the beach, but is just a few minutes walk or a 30 second drive from the main building

Location is awesome. Rooms was clean and spacious. Only reason why I am not giving it a 5 star is because the bed was so firm and it made sleeping very uncomfortable for us. It needed a mattress topper IMO. Beds are a preference so I don’t blame the Hotel for that, just wanting to warn you…beds are HARD.

I would like to start by saying the location of this hotel is amazing. My wife and I booked this stay to celebrate our 20th anniversary. We arrived early and our room was not ready, which was completely understandable. The location is perfect, so there was plenty to do while we waited.

To our surprise, our room was not located on the hotel property, but across the street and a block away. While the room itself was nice, it felt more like a remodeled apartment than a hotel room.
This separate location has no amenities and no on-site staff. If you want something as simple as a $7 bottle of water, you have to walk a block back to the main property to reach the front desk. If you want to use the hotel’s advertised pool area, you have to walk down the street in your swimsuit like anyone else who is not staying at the hotel.
We were very disappointed and asked management why we were placed off the main property. It was clear this has been a concern for other guests, as management stated this issue has been raised before. When we asked if there was anything that could be done to move us onto the property, they were very firm that nothing could be done. We also expressed that the hotel’s website is misleading, as at no point are you informed that you may not be staying on the actual property. Unfortunately, management was less than accommodating.

The hotel is beautiful and in the perfect location! The only reason I didn’t give 5 starts is the room is nothing special and I had a deluxe room but our balcony was closed in and facing state street which was fantastic. This will be our new go to hotel for Sant Barbara. Great staff as well

the room was ok but i called before i got there to enquire about parking and i was told their wasn’t valet parking but there would be self parking available but the night we checked in they said self parking was available for a 30 a day fee so wasn’t too happy about this i think they could of informed me when i called , also this place offers no brunch and not even a coffee in the lobby or a bottled water they want you to purchase a bottled water for 5 dollars, i’ve stayed in santa barbara multiple times and this was my first time at this place i will not be returning again as i don’t think the price is comparable to the other places i’ve stayed in that offer more for less money . maybe they can supply a couple bottle waters in the room for their guests that just get in from a long drive don’t think that’s too much to ask for

We had a great stay at the Harborview Inn Hotel. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, and the grounds were well kept. The location is a huge plus—you’re right across from the beach and within easy walking distance to restaurants and shops.
We also enjoyed the pool and sauna, which were both nice and relaxing. The only downside was that the hotel buildings are split across from each other, so you do have to walk a bit to get to the pool. Other than that, it was a pleasant stay and a great spot if you want to be close to the beach.

We were not expecting to be located off site from the main hotel. We had to drive through a residential neighborhood to get to our building. There was ample covered parking. We got a room with a balcony with a \"city view\" which ended up being a view into the neighbors house. The balcony wall ended up being too high to sit and enjoy the view anyway. The mattress was just awful, too sucken in. We did not get great sleep. The ac vent was ill placed and blew in your face all night. The hot water was great and the room had plenty of room. The in room coffee was disappointing. In order to use the amenities, we had to drive back to the main hotel, getting back into the car soaking wet after the hot tub wasn't ideal. The way the hotel charged was off, at check in, they charged my card for about 80% of the bill and at check out I was handed a bill and told I would be charged the remainder which was way more than I was originally quoted,the man tried to explain in a very confusing way,and kept making mistakes in explaining and assured I would only be charge $80 more than quited for parking. We'll see what we actually get charged.

Our room was too far from the main hotel and amenities so we never felt comfortable going to the gym, sauna, pool or hot tub because of the long walk outside in the cold, wet conditions. Wish we were closer to that - we would have been more inclined to use them. Also, the listing on Hotels.com indicates that there are laundry facilities. However, that is misleading. There are only laundry services and no explanation about how much or the times for same-day service. Overall, the general location of the hotel is great. The room was comfortable and spacious. The housekeeper was excellent and provided us with a total daily refresh. Enjoyed ourselves overall.
