Photos on website are at least 20 years old. No housekeeping service provided at all over 4 night stay. Rooms very badly need to be renovated. No plug in bathroom, no outlets at all in bedroom. Furniture not comfortable.

This was my 4th stay at this location; obviously I love the hotel! Staff is always friendly and helpful. The studio with kitchenette is huge, especially for Paris. View of the park is lovely, and not at all loud considering the traffic on the boulevard. I love the fact the windows open to let in fresh air. As a solo female traveler safety is of utmost importance, and I feel very comfortable in the neighborhood even at night.

My only critiques are that 1) the stove burners emit very low heat even on the high setting, so even cooking eggs takes half an hour, and 2) not enough hangers in the closet. More are available on request, so I just pack extra wire hangers in my checked suitcase.

Pros- Abat, Asia and Audrey were very courteous and friendly. Asia and Audrey were pleasant and informative. Asia was helpful and proactive in assisting me.
-liked the small area just as you enter the room, separated by a door before the bedroom so I can leave my shoes and bedroom slippers there.
-Room cleanliness was 8/10.
-reception staff Abat had kindly assisted in change of room. As a light sleeper, the first room assigned was very unsuitable for me. Had barely 4 hours of sleep on the first two nights due to room facing the road. Change was only available on the 3rd night onwards. Very much needed and appreciated.

Overall stay was very good. Room was comfortable. Bed was firm. Did not use the kitchenette but glad it was at my disposal to keep my epicerie butter to bring home.

Location was excellent. Close to several
Metros. The Bastille/ republique/ oberkampf vibe is always fun.

Cons - as the rooms have Kitchenette, the smell of cooked food from other rooms permeated the corridors. Seriously, it’s Paris , there is good food everywhere.

Although I prefer to clean the room once every 2 days, only 1 day was designated for a 6 night stay.

Overall the stay was enjoyable. It’s more like 4.5 stars

Great Hotel for the Opera

We booked this hotel because we had tickets for the Opera, 10 minuets walk away.
Its a great location with lost going on and quick access to the metro.
Our room on the top floor had a small kitchen which was very useful since there are several small supermarkets all within 5 minuets walk.
The hotel was comfortable, clean and very quiet.
There is very secure underground carpark for a daily fee. However, if you join the hotel chain membership, the carpark fee is reduced.

Stay elsewhere in Paris

Room was not at all like the photos. Much smaller (to be expected for Europe) but not at all like the photos listed. The bed did not have a fitted sheet. It was uncomfortable and the sheets were cheap quality. The AC hardly worked. Luckily we only stayed one night, but will not be back. On the bright side, the staff was friendly and helpful. Check in and check out was smooth.

Not as good as other years. (I have been going there for 20 years
Price went up, but services went down.
Very dirty under the bed. 2 towels a week per person
Plumbing is choked up. In the kitchen and bath room.
Being on the first floor is quite noisy..

Marais neighborhood is still lovely, and there is a great street market on Th and Su.

Overall, it was a decent place to stay and we felt it was as advertised...mostly. We got lucky and stayed on the top floor which gave us a view of the top 1/3 of the eiffel tower. There was no deck, but it did look like the deck from the pics was available on about 10% of the rooms. Location was great with plenty of cafes, shops and metro lines nearby. Room needed maintenance, but was fairly clean and we did enjoy having the small kitchen.

Deceiving hotel photos

I booked a Deluuxe Studio for 5 nights. I chose this type of room for the \"furbished balcony\" because I wanted to enjoy a coffee/ reading in the balcony like local Parisians. Instead of a balcony, what I got is a Z-shaped, narrow outdoor space (with rusty rails and dirty floors, for that matter). I was expecting a rectangular balcony where two chairs and a table are placed outside, as shown in hotel photos. There aren’t even two chairs and a table outside - just one chair and a coffee table which are placed in different sections, because the space in each section is too small to fit both. The management sought to defend itself by saying the layout of \"balcony\" can vary depending on the room location within the building - this is lame. I would not have booked a deluxe studio (or even this hotel) if I knew the so-called balcony is not usable.

Location of hotel is good - convenient and close to two Metro stations.

Facilities in the room: as many have commented, the rooms are dated. It is the first time I see exposed pipes in a hotel bathroom.

1 of 2 elevators broken for 6 of 8 days. AC broken in 2 rooms, no maintenance visit after reporting, 1/2 roll bath tissue for a week stay-no supply.
Very noisy neighborhood at night. Coffee in reception most always out of milk, not stocked regularly with tea. No welcome info of neighborhood, transit, building amenities & technology. Staff not experienced in restaurant museums or taxi reservations and passes.
Great location! Easy to metro and food. Nice kitchen & balcony, comfy bed but plastic undersheet makes you sweat. $170/night with tax. Ok value, but I'd probably try to find something else for sure when weather is warm.

We stayed here for one week and enjoyed it immensely. The location is great, near several metro stops, restaurants and fresh food markets. We loved having a kitchen and small living room. The facilities are very clean and the staff is very friendly, especially the front desk clerk, Essia, who informed us about local flea markets in the area, answered our questions about how to get around and was genuinely kind.

Close to some good restaurants (Bofinger, Santa carnet), good size room ( we stayed in superior studio), close to grocery store Franprix that make it easy to buy products to the room. overall good experience. contras: not enough housekeeping (once in 9 days stay), didn't have Luggage racks (for 9 days stay we needed 2 racks) The room design is basic, slow elevators (its better to stay at lower floor enabling going down by stairs). The location was convenient, and the staff was friendly during check-in. The bed was comfortable enough, and the amenities were decent.

However, I did encounter a few problems during my stay. The cleaning was subpar, as the room felt dusty, and the bathroom didn't seem freshly cleaned. Additionally, top stove and microwave were not working, making it difficult to prepare meals.

While the hotel had some good aspects, the lack of cleanliness and the malfunctioning stove made it less enjoyable. If management improves these details, it could be a much better option for future guests.

I have stayed at the Citadines Marais Bastille several times now, as it is my go-to FAVORITE stay in Paris! The staff is incredibly accommodating and efficient, and the fully furnished units are immaculate, it's near dining, Place des Vosges shopping and the best neighborhood in Paris (the Marais), and even a local grocery for cooking your own meals! BEST of all you can shop and eat like a local with fresh food, produce, and products from the Bastille Open Market every Thursday and Sunday morning - what heavenly stays I have had there!

In general we ara satisfied with our stay. Receptionists were helpfull especially Asya. The sofa bed in the living room has to be fixed. The technician came but couldnt fix it. Having free and good coffee in the lobby is a very good service. There are 3-4 metro stations nearby and a bus station in front of the hotel. Also the hotel is very close to Place des Vosges and Marais.

A tired hotel desperately in need of an upgrade

Our experience didn't start particularly well. Check in was supposed to be after 3pm. We arrived well after that but had to wait about half an hour or more to check in, around 4.40pm. When we got to our room it was set up as a double; I had asked on booking for a twin. The hotel were luckily able to move us to a room with twin beds. The room was OK but way smaller and less nicely decorated than the photos show. It was very scruff and seemed grubby from years of use, desperately in need of a major upgrade. The hotel also had work going on to waterproof a large outdoor terrace 3 floors below; the noise woke us up each morning. I was disappointed and won't be going back.

Great stay in Paris!

We were given a very quiet, spacious room overlooking a courtyard in the middle of Paris! There was a transit station very close by, an amazing street market and a neighborhood loaded with nice restaurants and shops. Receptionist was warm, friendly and helpful!

Pros: super spacious hotel room with kitchenette! Also fridge. Balcony is nice to have, though the view is simple. Train stations and a few convenience stores within walking distance. Less expensive compared to other hotels in the same area. Quiet area.

Second time I've been. It's nothing fancy, but it's clean and nice and in a great location in the Marais and central to pretty much everything in Paris and with great metro options nearby, staff are very friendly, rooms have decent little kitchens – which can be a lifesaver in Paris where the restaurant food is generally poor and overpriced unless you really know what you're doing, have made reservations and are willing to spend $$$$ – better to get great cheeses, wines, jams, baguettes etc and eat breakfast, lunch and/or dinner in the hotel. Only complain was that the elevators were broken-ish for the better part of the week making it a bit slow getting in and out of the room. Would definitely stay again.

The staff was incredibly helpful in getting us a cab on a couple of occasions. The breakfast was lacking in variety so we only took part one morning. There was a regular noise that sounded like someone moving chairs beside or above our room. But the location was great, easy to get to most places of interest but not in the middle of the busy traffic.

I come to Citadines every time I go to Paris. I particularly like The Marais area. The hotel is great. They are working on their AC system now which is fine since the weather is cool. I can’t say anything negative about the place!

The studio my college roomie and I had for 8 days was PERFECT. It was spacious with a large bathroom, fully equipped kitchen and coffee and tea in the lovely lobby. The staff were knowledgeable and very helpful. The area was so convenient and you could get anywhere with the very close metro stops. I highly recommend this property and will stay again if I am fortunate enough to return.

Overall the place is not bad, and the location is very convenient. The apartment is nice and big, but a bit old. They don’t clean everyday, so eventually the apartment gets dirty if you’re staying for a few days. We asked for housekeeping several times for them to eventually send someone, and they only changed the bedsheets, not even cleaned the room. Staff were friendly and helpful overall.

I stayed here for a week at the end of Nov./early Dec. Loved having a kitchenette and window. The room was spacious as was the bathroom. Great for someone with limited mobility. Front staff was friendly and courteous.

The location was an easy walk to dining in the Bastille area, a short walk to the Chemin Vert metro and Bus 69. It is also across the street from the Marche Bastille. It was safe area to walk around even at night. You need your key to enter the building. They also provide umbrellas which was a great touch!

The only downside was that the bathroom could use some TLC. The shower head fell during our stay but it was still functional.

One thing that could be easily improved is to keep people from smoking at the entrance. There were times when I had to walk through smoke to enter the building.

I've stayed at this Citadines quite a few times in recent years - great location, vibrant and safe neighborhood, good value for the space. This was the first time there since the pandemic and Paris bedbug scare. Check-in was very smooth and the front desk staff were very welcoming. I did check the space (we had a deluxe apartment and especially checked the bed and sofa) before we brought our luggage up and it was very clean. We decided to extend our stay another night and the staff, especially Lamine, Ina and Sujin (sorry for any mispellings) were super helpful and accommodating. The hotel is steps away from several Metro stops and just across the Bastille Marche that's open Thurs & Sunday. It turned very cold and we ended up not using the terrace which is nice when the weather is warmer. Still on my list as1st choice for my Paris stays.

We were a little concerned upon arrival as the area seemed questionable but we soon found out that it was quite safe. We walked the area day and night without issue. The hotel is secured with a passkey to enter the building which we loved. There are plenty of convenience markets nearby as well as cafes, restaurants, and two different train lines.
The room itself was wonderful and we booked the upgrade for the balcony (loved!). It was very clean and plenty of supplies, ie dishes, utensils, etc.
We would recommend this to others and stay there again.

This hotel is really close to a metro station as well as a lovely farmer's market on Sunday's which was a pleasant surprise. Very walkable area.
They allowed us to check in early - we didn't even request this - when we came to drop off our bags. It was very clean and overall a great experience.

Great Location for everything

The hotel is in a great area, close to a lot of different Metro stations, and really easy to walk around in, not to mention the most beautiful part of Paris!! We really liked the space of having an apartment, and the people working the front desk could not have been nicer!! They were friendly, helpful, and very kind. My only complaint is that the room needs a bit of updating and cleaning. Paint is peeling, cracks and crevices get a little moldy, and the shower wasn’t all that good. If those things could be addressed, the place would be a 10 out of 10!!
