Practical and great location

Friendly and attentive staff. Really clean room with a king size bed still leaving adequate space. Great shower! It’s not picture perfect Paris, but it’s a superb location down a quiet street in a really nice neighbourhood. Walking distance to the centre of Le Marais, etc. Metro just a few stops to the Seine and other attractions. Would definitely recommend!

We had a great stay. My friend and I shared a twin room. It was small but exactly what we needed. Quite clean. Felt like a safe area, not far from a metro station, and a short walk to lots of shops in le Marais.

A comfortable hotel in a very good location just minutes away from the Metro and surrounded by good places to eat. And a nice and very walkable part of Paris - easy to get to all of the main centres of interest either on foot or via the Metro system. The desk and cleaning staff were very friendly. There are very good options nearby for breakfast.

Great little hotel in an awesome location

Great little hotel in an awesome location. Perfect for the price. Room was very small but very comfortable and clean. I can't imagine having two people in there (I booked a double) but it's possible if you're just trying to sleep. There's zero sound protection from what's happening in the hall but if you put on white noise on your phone or put in earplugs, it's not that bad. Would definitely stay here again!

This hotel is really excellent, small & compact, but the space is utilised brilliantly. Great location with fab bars, an amazing boulangerie one minute away & the Metro at either end of the street. My friends & I shared two twin rooms that were really clean & comfortable & we all loved staying here. This hotel is really great value for money & all the staff were so kind, knowledgeable & helpful. Would wholeheartedly recommend, we’ll certainly be back.

Highly recommend if you want to stay in Marais

Very good area to stay in lots places to eat out and a short walk to where all the good French clothes shops and 'Merci' boutique store. Can highly recommends local boulangerie French B*****ds for their baguettes and pastries. So close to the Metro stop Oberkampf, line 5 takes you direct to Gare du Nord for the Eurostar.

Beds were comfy and rooms cleaned daily with fresh towels. Reception was always manned so there was someone to greet you .

We stayed here for 3 nights. There was no AC and the fan given to us was useful however super noisy! We also had no WiFi our entire stay…. They told us when we arrived it would be fixed by the afternoon then it was 8pm eventually we just stopped asking.
The location was convenient. The staff was not helpful for a short trip it’s OK but I would not recommend it

Hotel is a basic budget type. It is clean and warm. The room offered to me initially had a weird toilet in which when you are sitting on toilet seat, it difficult to close the door without squashing the leg. The Hotel was kind enough to change the room but the ground floor room was very noisy at night as you can clearly hear even the footsteps of people passing on the streets. So overall a very basic stay. Alright for budget solo travelers.

Lovely small hotel in the 11e Arrondissement. Situated in a lively neighbourhood. Not the quietest street at night, so perhaps best suited for people who don't mind a little action. Super clean. Staff was very nice and helpful. There's an elevator, which is not always the case in smaller Paris hotels. There's breakfast on the premise but we didn't try it. Of all the Paris hotels we visited it's one of the best, especially for the price. We'll definitely stay there again if there's availability.

Hotel and room was clean and smelled fresh. We had a room street side but it was quiet enough, though not silent. The staff was nice.
In the room it was really simple and we had only one bedside table, a second one would be a lot better as one of us had to put their stuff on the floor.. And we had 2 flimsy pillows, a second set would have been great.

Basic hotel, has everything you need for a weekend stay in Paris.
It is clean, beds were comfy, shower was good. Location is excellent, very near the metro and opposite an amazing Boulangerie 😊

Nice hotel just around the corner from Oberkampf metro and about 25 minutes walk from Chatelet. The surrounding area has loads of places to eat and drink. The hotel was clean and the staff were very accommodating. The rooms are quite small but more than adequate for a short stay. The only thing that would be helpful in the rooms would be some storage for clothes like a few drawers or shelves.

Lobby and rooms are updated, clean and modern. Hallways maintain the old dingy carpet and dark paint that is somewhat creepy to walk through. In suite bathroom was well appointed. The room itself was small, with very little space to open a suitcase. Hostel us well positioned, a short walk to two metro lines and plenty of restaurants. Staff were welcoming and helpful.

Good location close to transport links however hotel room was disappointing, bathroom light was broken on arrival and telephone wasn’t connected, just there for show. They store luggage which was helpful on our last day. Staff were friendly and when we asked for a fan as the room had no air con we were provided with one. The room wasn’t spacious and didn’t have storage facilities just a tray table and two small shelves and no wardrobe just 2 hangers on a knob on the wall. If you don’t expect much from a hotel it’s a good choice as it does the job, but nothing special. Overall an okay experience.

2nd stay at this hotel. Super friendly day receptionist. Love the colour scheme in the rooms and the cafe area. No kettle in room but in cafe area on the ground floor. Payable refreshments, too. Room compact but great value for money. Walkable from gare de l'Est and into Marais and Louvre area. Nice walks along the canal St Martin, too. Residential area with lots of little shops.

I would have liked the hotel to offer me a map of paris and bus/metro route information because I did not have wifi/cell phone connection outside of the hotel. I eventually found out a day later how close the metro and bus stops were to the hotel (a bit too late).

Great, small budget hotel, would recommend

This is a great, small hotel, really well located. It's fairly basic but worked perfectly for my short 3 night stay. Staff were really helpful and helped with my travel (bus/metro queries) in the area. It's close to lots of good bars, cafes, shops and the area is very cool, it feels much more local than central Paris which I really liked. Oberkampf metro is a 5 min walk and a well connected line. I didn't have the breakfast at the hotel as there are so many good cafe/bakery options close by, which I thought had a better selection for cheaper. Overall it was a clean and comfortable room, small and compact but that's like so many Paris hotels ! My only negative comment was that I stayed on the 4th floor and there is apparently an AirBnB apartment above which was very, very noisy at night! There wasn't much the hotel could do as it's not part of the hotel, they did raise it with the owners but I'd suggest asking for floor 1, 2 or 3 if you want to avoid risking this.

Hotel Metallos is very close to both Oberkampf and Parmentier metro lines, and a short walk from Republique. It is in a nice area, with many shops within 1 minute's walk. Gare du Nord is 10 mins away on the metro.
The 96 bus takes you into central Paris, but if you prefer to walk it's an easy 25 mins walk. The hotel was clean, friendly and quiet. I stayed in room 207, which was big enough for 1 person but probably a bit too small for two people. I would recommend staying and will certainly visit again.

Great location and great price

The area is residential but within walking distance of famous sites in Paris, including the Seine. It's full of character and history, restaurants and patisseries. My room was small and spotlessly clean. There are Metro stations within easy walking distance so one can get around with no problem at all. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, pointing me to a shop where I could buy an umbrella, printing out my boarding pass.
There is wifi but one had to log on each time one wanted to use it. The number of TV stations to watch free is limited which mattered because there was an important football game that I missed.
The street is narrow and was not very busy. I enjoyed listening to someone practising the piano in a building opposite.

The hotel looks very comfortable and hip. When we reached out room, it was super spacious. We were surprised because all other hotels we stayed in were quite condensed. The bathroom was great. Hairdryer, towels, separate room for shower, and amenities were all included. The bed was cozy. The location was so good. Walk out and there are plenty of restaurant choices. The bank/atm is down the block as well. Definitely recommend this!

Perfect for a short stay. I didn't have to worry about storing clothes. Otherwise it could be seen as \"spartiate\". And the table to work on a laptop is quite tiny. I had to be in this area for a debate at the theatre \"la maison des métallos\". Furthermore I like this area. Nice restaurants. There is a life in Paris after 10 pm...

The one person who spoke excellent English especially helpful in making arrangements for wake up calls, arranging for shuttle bus to Airport CDG in English. Rooms had no drawers for clothing. Nights: 1 without electricity elevator and hot water. Picked that hotel because i had surgery it was close from the hospital and work. Front desk with attitude! Offered me to refund 10% of the NIGHT (8$) and nothing more! And the best: the guy from the front desk told me i should not shower after my surgery....!!! Like he knows what i had... never again... and im usually very very easy going!!! And accept a lot...!

Great room at reasonable price

For the price, I have never had such a nice room in Paris. It was a good size with a huge bed. Modern decorations. With a 3 minute walk to the metro, it was super convenient. only about a 20 minute walk to the river, so if you like walking you can easily get to the Bastille and Museum of Natural History.

Practical budget hotel if lacking a bit of charm

Practical modern budget hotel in a cool neighbourhood of Paris if lacking a bit of charm.

Positives:

*Clear modern room
*Enjoyed the location- very handy for the metro (great hotel if your staying by Eurostar-10 mins from Gard Du Nord) 5 mins walk to place de republique but away from the crowds & tourist. Lots of restaurants and bars on Rue de Oberkampf. 20-25 min walk to Chalet and Le Marais if you know what you're doing.
*Internet is a public space style, no password just log in using email and it worked well the whole time I was there
*Staff very helpful but also let you get on with your stay

Negatives:
* Shower worked well in terms of hot water but the shower door has a gap at the bottom the shower room floor will get wet (very wet-if in for more than 5 mins)
*Stayed in December and found the room cold at times, check the radiator and was working but at large parts of times it was off and the stone floors are cold picked up my laptop and it was like a block of ice.
*TV worked - but only French channels, might be worth paying for basic cable to at least have CNN.
* I was trying solo in a twin room- which was fine for me - but would be tight for two people. Waking around I stud my toe on the bathroom door stop and the TV
*There is also no wardrobe or drawers- just hangers to put your clothes up on. Which again was fine for me but may be a struggle for two.
*Decor is better than many other budget hotels but lacks a bit of charm.

Would stay again.

Overall the hotel is really a 2*. There is a lack of air flow for the rooms resulting in mold in the shower/bathroom. Some rooms worse then others and the cleaning is not very good. Luckily they were able to move us into a halfway decent room with little mold in the shower but still there were spots where mold exist. There is no AC unit in any rooms. The cleaning of the room is not very good. We found hair and stains on the bed/pillow sheets and hair in the bathroom when we checked in. Floor was a bit dirty especially under the bed. Cigarettes on the balcony area from previous guest. Daily cleaning was subpar as well and almost not necessary. We cleaned ourselves with wipes we brought and barely used the sheets.

I have nothing put good things to say about this hotel. I think it is great value for money. Yes the rooms are small, but it Paris. You’ll get that anywhere. If I’m heading back to Paris again I would definitely look at staying here again. It was easy to get to and near all the attractions. I had pleasant stay and would recommend to anyone.

Just okay, probably wouldn't stay again.

This place is hard to rate because there were a lot of goods and not so great.

Good: location is amazing. Safe, RIGHT next to the oberkampf metro stop as well as a few others, and a lot of food options-restaurants and grocery shops all around. The female morning receptionist was very sweet and helpful.

The room was small as expected, the bed was comfortable buy very short...and I'm only 5'4, and the bathroom was also small, as expected, but clean and comfortable.

Cons: when we booked it said there was A.C. I filtered only A.C. hotels as Paris gets VERY hot and humid in the summer...there was a floor fan. That was pretty bad. The male night receptionist was also pretty rude. And the big issue was that our first night needed to get cancelled as our flight was cancelled because of maintenance issues. We paid extra for the free cancellation option, I u understand that you need to cancel 48 hrs in advance but this was something completely out of our control. We called hotels.com hoping they could help, they contacted the hotel and were given a flat no, thankfully hotels.com was awesome and they refunded us on their behalf.

Overall with all of the pros and cons added up, we would probably not stay here again.

Good for a night

Nicely refurbished inside with a very bright breakfast area. Good shower. There is no kettle within the room; there is however a (payable) self-service beverage area on the ground floor after breakfast. In the absence of much luggage, the hotel is walkable along the canal from the Gare de l'Est. The room was rather warm as it was very hot in Paris all day. A huge plus: being on a limited diet, I was able to bring my own food for breakfast and just have a coffee.

Very nice small hotel in a residential area. Staff are really nice people. The main reason I booked this hotel is they offer airport shuttle service, it says on the website call earlier to book the shuttle service. But when I called few days earlier, I was told no shuttle service. I had to take a train, was very late in the middle of the night. A young immigrant man was trying to open my backpack when I was walking out of subway. Also The second morning like 7am, a Muslim man was singing very loud in the neighborhood for long time, I was trying to sleep! Other than that was very nice stay.

Probably the Best Budget Hotel in Central Paris

Hotels can be generally categorized into two distinct types: those where the people who work there don't care & hotels that do. For Hotel de Metallos, I am pleased to report that it falls into the latter of these broad categories.

The decor & general upkeep of things is superb; the rooms, while somewhat diminutive, are furnished with everything that weary traveler may need—desk, large shower, comfortable bed, good lighting, etc. HdM is packed full of French quirkiness & character. Staff that I met are friendly, polite, no hassle check-in process.

Interesting observations: the lift has a maximum rating of five people, but at 40cm wide, to fit five people would necessarily some unwanted intimacy with strangers.

It's a well located hotel that is the key feature. Rooms are very small, not super clean. Mold in shower and the drain was clogged. Some of the staff are more polite than others. The crummy breakfast is an extra 10 euro. Skip it and head to the local boulangerie for good patisserie. This is an OK budget option.

The room was small but manageable, yes it was nosity but I didn't hear it after 11 ad I was to tired to care. Over all nice place bring ear plugs if your a light sleeper

Great, Clean, Modern hotel, close to a lot!

The room was a steal for what you get for your money! The neighborhood was active and close to a lot of things. We found ourselves walking most of the time we were in Paris. The street it is on is just far enough down the road from the main drag to be quiet at night which was perfect. The only problem I would foresee was there was no AC in the room. If it had been summer, this would have been a problem I think.

Perfect weekend hotel and great value!

The hotel was perfect for our weekend. I booked 2 single rooms and each had double beds which was a good surprise. The rooms backed onto a courtyard which meant they were very quiet, despite being in a lively neighbourhood. The hotel was very clean and comfortable, within walking distance to 3 different metro lines. We mostly walked everywhere and in the evenings, there were a good selection of restaurants and bars to choose from. I would definitely stay again!

Nice hotel

This was a nice hotel In a good neighbourhood. The room was quite small which is quite typical of hotels in Paris. Couldn't walk around the end of the bed if the bedroom window was open:) The shower had some mould in it but that too seems common since there aren't fans in the bathrooms. The only real drawback was that it was a good 1/2 hour walk to Notre Dame then to the other major sites. We like walking, this was not an issue. Lots of restaurants, boulangeries and eateries, laundromats, grocery stores and open food markets in this area. We really enjoyed our stay and would stay again. Did not eat the breakfast at the hotel but it looked standard and good.

Nice clean hotel with convenient transit

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Metallos. The room and shower were both very small but we knew that before we booked it. Everything was very clean. The staff was friendly. The adapter that we brought with us was the wrong kind and the staff directed us to a nearby flea market where we were able to pick up an adapter for only a couple of Euros. On one of our last nights there we tried one of the hotel-recommended restaurants and it was probably the best meal we had on our entire trip. The neighborhood is nice and felt safe even at night. The metro stop is only about 2 blocks away and there are several vendors nearby where you can buy your ticket booklets.

Nice basic hotel

clean quiet room opening out off the street. Good TV and wifi included. I wouldn't bother with the breakfast - it's so easy to grab a bit elsewhere. Easy to come and go without any hassles. I would stay here again.

Lovely stay!

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The location was great, and there were so many amazing places to explore nearby, as well as great access to the metro. Staff were super friendly and helpful (especially when I realised I had brought the wrong charger converter with me!). Although the room was on the small side this is to be expected, and we managed perfectly fine. Breakfast was a little overpriced but it was lovely and was a good motivator to get out of bed in the morning. When I next return to Paris I shall definitely be staying here again!

OK price, not great stay

Room was on street level, next to street. Very noisy. No air conditioning, not even a fan in room. Room was relatively large. Parking in area was non-existent (not even a Vinci park nearby). Metro was a few blocks away.
