First - they do not use mattress protectors on the beds. While I didn’t see any evidence of bedbugs, the sheets were stained and had hair on them when I first got there. The walls are quite thin, especially if located near the stairwell. The room was definitely not what was pictured in the photos. I paid for the “superior” twin room and the room was far too small for two people to be comfortable, let alone open your suitcase. Front desk staff was rude when asking about the difference in the pictures shown online and the room I received. While it is conveniently located, I would not recommend, or consider staying here myself ever again.

Hotel location and staff service was great. The only item of note was that the room we booked via Expedia was a Queen and 2 twins. This however turned out to be a Queen, 1 twin, and 1 twin futon on a metal rail. This was uncomfortable for the person sleeping as the futon mattress was thin. Overall the value was great and I would stay again, but in a diffident room/bed set up. Also note the room has no mini fridge, but does have a small safe and hair dryer. The location was fabulous, with lots of dining options in just a few steps.

Lovely place to stay in Paris

Our stay at Hotel Alhambra was great, service was lovely. The front desk reception was always friendly and accommodating, even let us borrow a power adapter when ours broke. The breakfast buffet was included in the price of the hotel and it was a nice simple meal. The hotel was also very close to the metro, only about 2 min walk. There’s also a Filipino cafe next door and we had a delicious ube coffee from there. Overall a great place to stay, would recommend!

This was an older hotel but the rooms were modern and the beds were very comfortable. The owners were wonderful, the property was very close to 3 metro stations, places to eat and lots of shops. If going back to Paris I wouldn’t look anywhere else I would stay here again.

The garden seating area was lovely and inviting. The breakfast buffet offered good, tasty variety. The property was well maintained. The staff was generally helpful and polite. The location was within walking distance of the Gare du Nord and the Marais. I did not like having to leave the key card each time we left the hotel and it was a little challenging for my disabled father to move around the hotel comfortably.

Loved the area around this hotel. A bit away from the city centre bit still full with lots to do from many bakeries and restaurants to many vintage and small boutique shops.
The hotel was nice and clean. Good enough to stay the night and relax a bit. The breakfast was also decent and included in the price which was nice. Would definitely book again with this hotel.

Very convenient near metro and safe location. Lots of places nearby to eat. It was hard staying with two people and luggage in very small rooms. No ice machine and would not advise breakfast on site as it was expensive, had to wait for refill of food and very limited seating in breakfast area including outside garden.

The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is becos we stayed here during the Olympics and paid for a five star hotel and this clearly isn’t one. So “for value” I’m not going there. BUT. That aside. The owner was v warm and welcoming. The rooms are basic but you cannot fault them. Impeccably clean, comfortable bed, v good quiet air conditioning, nice decent shower-room. As a 3 star it’s a great hotel for Paris. Brilliantly located for the Marais, great transport links and the street itself so quiet. So I can only applaud them and if I came to Paris again at normal rates it’s worth the money. Charming, clean and friendly.

This is my second stay and there are definitely pros and cons. Good location right off the metro and walkable through the Marais area. Bedrooms are spacious by euro standards. Good bathroom. I like the tile floor vs having carpet. the street side rooms have no noise protection. But it is a seldom used street at night. I accidentally added breakfast buffet this time. It was clean and fine but I don't recommend adding it when there are better options nearby.

On the whole the hotel is great as was the service. Excellent location as metro is on the doorstep.
My only issue is that as It was my sister’s 60th I asked the gentleman (he was the older man) at reception if they could do something small to surprise her like a cake at breakfast time but he was rather rude and just said no immediately.
One receptionist wouldn’t give the name of the manager which I thought was weird.
However I would like to thank the gentleman that was there on our last day as he went out of his way to provide us breakfast as we were leaving 7.00am (breakfast starts at 7.30am). He was very polite and helpful.
The hotel was very clean and our room was very comfortable. Would’ve been nice to have tea/coffee facilities in the room as most hotels have them now. Also couldn’t understand why we had to hand out key in every time we went out but wasn’t really an issue as someone was always at reception.
I would definitely stay there again and would recommend it.

Room was small but clean. Location is good, 30 min walking from the main train station. I paid 15 euro extra for breakfast and I realised straight after booking this was starting from 7.30 and I would not be able to have it. I tried to cancel it but staff did not allow me to remove it from the booking even though I had a refundable booking. Once there, I tried to ask if I could give my breakfast already paid to a colleague but this was not accepted. I felt the staff was not very flexible and I didn’t feel very welcome.

Nice hotel in a convenient location

All the staff we met were friendly and helpful. We were upgraded to a suite which was a bonus - thank you! The bedroom and bathroom were clean and tastefully decorated. The hotel was in a quiet street a just a few yards away from the Oberkampf metro exit. It’s location is also convenient - just a short walk to the Le Marais area where we enjoyed an amazing choice of restaurants and bars! Generally a short walk to a lot of interesting and non-touristy places. The hotel also a garden terrace which is lovely when the weather is sunnier (unfortunately it rained during our visit), but it was nice to have that option. We would stay again.

I enjoyed a solo trip to Paris staying at the Hotel Alhambra and it was the perfect base for me.

It felt really safe, both the Oberkampf area and the hotel itself. Just a very short walk from both the metro and a couple of fantastic boulangeries. Oberkampf also has some fantastic restaurants to eat in.

The hotel itself is clean and quiet, with lovely reception staff. The bed was comfy and the shower powerful. What more could you want.

I recommend a stay at Hotel Alhambra.

Really nice, small, quiet hotel that is very well located. Just a short walk from Place Republique and the really cool Oberkampf area that has lots of nice bars and restaurants. This isn't a 5* hotel, so as long as you don't expect absolute luxury then you will be well impressed with the value. The communal outdoor terrace was a very nice bonus.

This was a lovely budget hotel in Paris. For our family of four it was perfect, and roomy enough for all 4 of us and our luggage. The room was clean, and the hotel was fairly quiet, even though the walls were thin.
Location: Excellent - few feet from the Oberkampf metro station and walking distance to many things.
Cleanliness. It was spotless on arrival and well maintained during our stay. The common areas were also nicely maintained.
Food: There is a very nice breakfast buffet which one can select for about $13 Euros/person. It had pastries, meats, breads, cereals, and an assortment of fresh fruits. For a large eater, this will be a bargain or comparable to some of the other breakfasts in the area. If you are having a croissant and a coffee, a local boulangerie may be a better option.
Staff: In my opinion this is what makes or breaks a stay in a foreign country. All of the staff members we met were very helpful with directions, and advice, extra towels, etc.
Things to note: The garden space is really lovely, pictures don't do it justice. Also, if you use the shuttle to the airport, know that it is a shared ride, and you will not be going to the airport. Your arrival time to the airport may be impacted by this.
Recommendations: While the bathrooms were very sleek and elegant, with just a glass partition, a shower curtain (or minimally the ability to install a makeshift one) might be more practical in a family room, allowing more simultaneous use of the bathroom.

We booked 2 rooms in Hotel Alhambra for a family of 4 for 1 week at the end of July 2019. For a 3 star hotel it is excellent in terms of cleanliness, location to Metro and to restaurants etc. The bathrooms in particular have high quality fixtures and fittings, and there was always plenty of hot water for showers, towels, shampoo etc. Air conditioning worked superbly - which was very welcome given that we were there during the 42 degrees Celsius day!! The staff were very kind and helpful and did all that we asked of them. There is an optional breakfast which we availed of only once but the range and quantity of food available was extensive. In terms of what we might have liked that the hotel did not have were a mini freezer and maybe tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms. However, we knew these were not available in advance. The rooms themselves were compact but were designed very well with ample storage space etc. There is a delightful garden at the back and a vending machine in the lobby for cold drinks and snacks. Tea/coffee can be ordered at reception if required. Overall, we had a really enjoyable stay in Hotel Alhambra.

Good location (very close to Oberkampf métro station), and easy walking distance to the popular Marais district. One receptionist was very friendly, the others efficiently polite. The comfort room, while small, was well designed and very clean - although twice we returned to a “backed-up drains” odour in the room. This was soon dispelled by opening the windows.

Very handy location for exploring on foot or by metro or bus. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was comfortable and stylish. You could hear other room door slamming from time to time but overall an excellent experience. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel as there are so many places to eat close by so can't comment on that.

The hotel staff is unfriendly and rude. They charged us 4 euros for a double expresso without notice, when it was posted at 3 euros in the board but they hide the fact that if u sit on the garden it is an extra
euro. The rooms are real tiny, around 2 or 3 feet space around the bed and a bathshower of 2.5 feet wide. Definitively not going back to these unfriendly guys.

Stayed here just for 1 night after having to book an extra night die to train strike. Check in was fine. Room was slightly on small size but modern and nice bed and nice bathroom with rain shower. Two things I want in a hotel room is a good bed and good shower and this had both.
Only thing that I found strange was having to leave the key at reception when leaving. Location was alright.

Wonderful stay

The hotel was clean, comfortable and in a great location. SO close to the Metro station so great for getting aroubd the city. Lots of restaurants and bars seconds from the hotel. We went for a girls weekend and felt safe and comfortable the whole time. The staff were delightful and made us feel welcome even after we checked out they stored our bags and let us lounge about between collecting the bags and leaving to return home. I would recommend this hotel to all types of traveller. I have stayed in Paris many times and this hotel trumps the rest even in price.

Clean, comfortable and quiet

Clean, comfortable and quiet hotel. Nice places nearby to eat. Easy enough to walk to lots of sights but even more straightforward to jump on the metro and whizz around Paris. Definitely recommend this hotel

Small boutique hotel in nice section of paris

Easy to find hotel very short walk from orange line metro. ( 1 block) Restaurant and grocery stores on same block. Quiet area, not much night traffic. Staff was pleasant and helpful. i would stay here again.

Small but perfectly formed

Brilliant hotel, central location, easy commute around Paris. Room very small but we knew that before we booked, so didn’t bother us at all. It had everything we needed and was spotless

Quite hotel in the middle of bustling paris

It's true rooms are small. I purposely booked the superior room because past guest said rooms are small so take the superior. I stayed in room 606 and it was NO different. I asked the front desk if I'm in the right room he said \"yes, because you have a balcony (also small) it's considered a superior\". There you have it everyone. A superior room means it comes with an amenity of a balcony. The room itself isn't more spacious. I would stay here again if I was alone but since I had a guest with me, it was hard getting around with our bags because there was no where to put them. Otherwise room has great modern furnishes, very clean and cozy.
