This is in Republique. A ten minute walk to the Marais. Oberkampf metro 5 min away with a market, boulangerie and a fabulous restaurant at the end of the block. We had a little issue with the elevator out, but the staff did everyto make us happy. Very nice 4 night stay. Two rooms

My only complaint was our room's lights kept going out randomly (even while in the shower), the shower didn't have a ceiling fan, and the bed wasn't too comfortable (if you like harder beds, you'll be totally fine). The elevator was also not working, but that seems typical for Paris.
Overall, I really enjoyed my stay, and the breakfast was solid!

Good location a few minutes away from the metro, close to bars, restaurants and amazing boulangeries. Clean room. The small fridge was a plus. The staff is friendly and accomodating.

Elevator did not work at all. Had two 50 pound bags that we had to take up 4 flights of stairs. They were doing construction on the outside of the building which was directly outside our room the whole times the cleaning station was always left outside next to our door. The hotel is in an excellent location in Republique, such a bustling area and great links to the metro. Staff are friendly and the hotel is warm and inviting. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay again next time we are in Paris. Breakfast excellent.

The room was good. Close to subway and restaurants. The first man to help me that was behind the counter was not very friendly. He made me feel like I was bothering him. I arrived 2 hrs early and was happy to walk around until the 2 o’clock check in time. But since I arrived early, it would have been nice if they informed the cleaning staff to maybe get to my room quicker. He did not. I came back at check in time and they had just started cleaning. Also there were details about the room that he did not inform me of that would have been helpful to know to turn the lights on and find the hot water in the shower. I don’t care where you’re from, why you have a job in customer service, but if you do, show up. I’ve done this job all my life. The second man that worked there was very sweet, helpful and warm. It was a nice place but I would not choose to stay there again.

The room we got was very dirty: stains on carpet, bathroom, sink, curtains. Also, the room smelled awful. Staff were helpful when we had questions. The breakfast was okay. The area is convenient for dining and metro, but very loud. I would never stay at this hotel again. Nothing personal, but the state of our room ruined the trip. I dreaded coming back to the jotel to sleep. We would use our clean slippers to walk, never barefoot.

This hotel was very convenient in terms of location. Its close to 2 metro stations, all within 5 min of walking. There's also a really good bakery down the street. Area felt safe, even when walking back late at night. The staff were very friendly and available at all times to help. Hotel has an elevator which made it convenient for bringing up luggage. Room was clean and bright. The only complaint i have is for the bathroom. The drain by the shower didn't seem very clean and our sink was clogged/ slow draining. Otherwise this was a great stay!

We enjoyed our stay here. The location was great and so close to the metro to get down to the main attractions and to the train station. I was abut disappointed in the baby beds, they were stored in an open storage unit with no bags, so I was concerned about cleanliness. I had booked one in advance but it wasn’t ready so I had to go to storage to get it with the staff. The room was quite small but I understand that’s the norm in the area. The bathroom wasn’t as clean as I would have expected and some tiles were coming off the wall, and the seal on the shower was broken so it would make a mess when we showered.

Loved my stay here! The room was even nicer than I expected, with fast internet and a super comfy bed that made it easy to sleep well. The staff were really nice and always happy to help. The location is quiet but very convenient—just a short walk to the station and bus stops. And the best part? There’s a fantastic little bakery nearby where we grabbed fresh bread and cakes for breakfast every morning.

Location was great, youre in easy walking distance to two different metros. We used either or, for every trip we did. Internet was good in the hotel, never had any issues. Bed was also okay, no issues with it. Overall it was a comfy stay and was convenient for us. The neighbourhood was great and close to many cute cafes and restaurants.

Avoid Hôtel 20 Prieuré – Serious Safety Concern
I stayed at Hôtel 20 Prieuré in Paris for 4 nights, and my experience was extremely disappointing—mainly due to a serious violation of privacy that completely ruined my stay.
The room itself was basic but not as shown in the online photos. While generally tidy, the bathroom was unclean—there was visible mould and dirt around the shower and radiator, which was unpleasant and felt unclean.
The real issue, however, was a shocking security breach. At 7:26am, a woman entered my room unannounced with a master keycard. I was asleep and startled awake, falling out of bed in shock. Minutes later, she returned again, barging in instead of waiting after she knocked for me to get up and open my door. I was in shock and felt completely unsafe and violated.
When I reported this to the front desk, the manager was dismissive and evasive, claiming she was “checking if my door was open”—a clear lie, as I always double-check the door before bed because there is NO internal lock or chain on the door. There was no real apology or genuine concern shown. At checkout they comped my parents breakfast but the damage had already been done at that point.
While the location is excellent—central, and full of great cafés and an a fab Boulangerie —I would strongly advise against staying here. The lack of etiquette & respect for guests and basic safety is unacceptable. There are much better options in this lovely part of Paris. Avoid Hôtel 20 Prieuré.

When I reported this to the front desk, the manager was dismissive and evasive, claiming she was “checking if my door was open”—a clear lie, as I always double-check the door before bed because there is NO internal lock or chain on the door. There was no real apology or genuine concern shown. At checkout they comped my parents breakfast but the damage had already been done at that point.
While the location is excellent—central, and full of great cafés and an a fab Boulangerie —I would strongly advise against staying here. The lack of etiquette & respect for guests and basic safety is unacceptable. There are much better options in this lovely part of Paris. Avoid Hôtel 20 Prieuré.

Absolutely loved the location and the staff, A+. Everything within walking distance, only 5min from the metro and across the road from a little supermarket. Room however, (20) on ground floor had a wet room with a shower that didn't drain so you're standing in your own soap scum and it spreads out to the toilet and basin so you get wet if you need to go in after. Also when we arrived there were parts that hadn't been cleaned at all - the floor didn't look like it had been hoovered as there were little bits of food over it and in the courtyard there were cigarette butts everywhere and a coffee cup from the room. We told the front desk who said there was a new girl and when we came back from dinner the cup and butts had been picked up but the coffee cup hadn't been replaced and the room hadn't been hoovered.
I would still recommend this place as I think it was bad luck with the cleaning and the staff and location are great, but I'd get a room that isn't on the ground floor so there's better drainage.

The wifi in the hotel is virtually non existent. Could use whatsapp or Instagram in my room. When i asked the front desk they just shrugged their shoulders. Wifi is so basic and essential when travelling! All they need are some wifi signal extenders. Needs to be fixed !

They had it fixed in about 24 hours. Also there was a sign saying sheets would be cleaned every 3 days but our pillowcases were still showing mascara all week we stayed there. Our dirty coffee mugs were never removed/ replaced. No conditioner or lotion in the shower.

We had a very long stay at this property and a few days into our visit, the air-conditioning unit stopped working. They very quickly transferred us to another room and then later we received a little note with Olympic coffee mugs, apologizing for the issue. The shower was a bit wonky and water went everywhere and was slow to drain. We shared a wall with the stairwell but thankfully on the 4th floor we didn’t hear much, but I could see how that would be annoying on a lower floor.

The staff was uniformly pleasant, responsive and very helpful. Location was close to the Metro and walkable to many places as well. The room was clean and had a room safe, small refrigerator and a kettle with two cups (apparently there’s coffee available from the front desk). The bed was so-so in terms of comfort and the bathroom had only shower gel and liquid soap. Getting in and out of the shower is a bit challenging for older guests. Overall I would recommend this hotel and would certainly consider staying here again.
