The hotel is out of date, with damaged walls, unfinished parquet flooring and a bit dirty in places. The only lighting in the room was too bright, and there was no bedside lamp. The bathroom sink was half blocked and the shower jets were too powerful (very, very unpleasant). The reception in the evening was very good, the person was nice, but the next day another person was rather cold. The photos on the website are misleading. You can find much better accommodation for the same price in Paris in the same area

Old world Parisian charm in convenient location

Nice Hotel housed in a building that captures some of the old Parisian charm with its winding staircase and balcony in the room. Staff are very friendly and helpful. It was hot so it would’ve been nice to have a fan in the room. Otherwise, conveniently located a competitively priced.

Ideal location, close to restaurants and metro. Walking distance from Eurostar too. Comfy bed, only downside was the fact that shower is only on for 15 secs before you have to press a button again. Very irritating. No kettle in room either.

Disappointed that the room was not decorated as per photographs on website....according to the receptionist we spoke with, these rooms don't exist anymore...booked this place for advertised decor and position to transport....1 out of 2 ain't bad...

Hotel is easy to get from metro station Republique.
Reception staff were on whole friendly and helpful.
Rooms are very basic - but enough for a three night stay.
Our shower was tiny but warm and efficient.
Hand soap and shower gel is available.
No working safe in room but safety deposit boxes are available at Reception.
Rooms are serviced daily with beds made up, and fresh towels.
You get a token for breakfast at next doors nice cafe - breakfast is Parisienne - a baguette, croissant, hot drink of choice, fresh orange juice, jams and butters. Sufficient but not enough to set you up completely for day.

The hotel/hostel is absolutely in unacceptable condition. The beds were very small and dirty. The cleaning crew just opened our door asking if we were finished after being there for ten minutes. It’s almost as if they knew it’s horrible.

It was So noisy - even though I had requested a quiet room. When I inquired again, they said they didn't have my kind of room in a quiet location - So solo travellers get the 'less than' rooms!? No a/c which doesn't bother me if there is a source of ..air.. but even with the window closed for sleeping - the humidity was very high - and it was still noisy - cars race the street..or something. Was there for 3 sleepless nights! - left exhausted.

Best Location at best price

For those who are looking to explore Paris and just need to crash at nights... It can be the best option. We stayed for 6 nights, room was well maintained. The guests we met in common places were decent. 24 hours helpdesk available and staff is very friendly and try to help their guest all possible ways. We needed our luggage to be kept for sometime after the check out, so management accepted our request and kept the luggage safely until we collect it.
Pros:
1. Great location closer to Metro location.
2. Friendly staff
3. Good maintenance

Cons:
1. Minimal Breakfast options: You will get same breakfast daily. Croissant/Pain de Chocolate, orange juice, plain baguette bread, jams-2, coffee. (not buffet) which is decent but we got bored having it daily.
2. Room key card deactivates: Once your room got serviced, your room key may lose access so again you have to go to helpdesk, reset the key card and try again. It is not complaint but if when you had exhaustive day and want to crash on bed but then this happen, you might feel bit dissappointed, especially when your room is in top floors.
Tip: Before taking lift just make sure your room key has the access.

I have never stayed in a hostel before, but I was very confortable with the decor and the friendlienss and efficiency of the staff. Except for the last couple of nights, it has been very 'tranquil' but I understand these establishments cater to groups and younger people sometimes and they want to enjoy the setting. I really appreciated the support because unfortunately I came into the hotel with an injury and subsequently developed a lengthy cold and even flu and everyone wanted to make sure that I was feeling ok health and moral wise. Thank you so much.

Hotel with unique personality

The hotel has compensated what ever it lacks in amenites and comfort, with great friendly staff and eco friendly, cosy ambience. During my stay, it got pretty warm at times and the fan located in the room was not sufficient to cool me. The room was small and felt like an attic. The toilet was clean. Due to COVID19, daily room cleaning was not available.

The location is great, so close to many cafes and restaurants. It is also close to the metro.

I would still recommend this hotel, as it has its own authentic personality and friendly staff. If you do not want to spend an arm and a leg in price and would be ok to sacrifice some comfort, this is a place for you.

I am a woman at two beds room, and made sure there is no one checked in after yesterday 7pm. This morning, at 4:30am, a guy tried to break in hardly. I started to yelling for HELP! Another voice came to call me to downstairs front desk. I refused it and called 112. The French Police took down my information and advises me staying in the room but NOT open the door and NOT going anywhere else until my check out time at 8am this morning.
This hotel is terrible. Please don’t stay here. Your life and safety are much more than money. Please!!!

Amazing location only a 2 mins walk from the metro; grocery store across the street; many restaurants nearby as well. Staff were nice, but the bathroom needs more ventilation, and the walls are really thin, you can hear the conversations of your neighbors. Swift check in and check out. Good place and fair price overall.

Good room for the price

The Absolute is a good hotel for the price. Reading through all the negative previous reviews, I was a little worried. However, I will say, the hotel room was clean, the bedding was clean, and the bathroom was clean.
The breakfast buffet was super tasty and quite generous.
The hotel required a €20 deposit for a hair dryer, so I washed my hair at night, because I didn’t want to walk around Paris in December with wet hair. Also, only one, small towel per person is provided daily. Be prepared. Bring your own toiletries because the shower gel provided is the equivalent of cheap public bathroom soap.
My only real complaint is that the shower is the most dangerous shower I have ever experienced. The shower itself is elevated a solid 12” and there are no steps to go up and there is no grip, the shower is super slippery. I was dealing with an injury, so I needed my fiancé to help me get in and out.
This is a BUDGET hotel, and people should keep that in mind. Paris is a tourist destination, and most hotels are very expensive. With the Absolute, paying roughly $88 USD per night with breakfast included is a steal, especially for the location and accessibility to the metro and busses. We were able to get everywhere from our metro stop, and it only cost €10 per person to get to Charles de Gaulle from the metro stop. This saved us so much money getting to the hotel.
If you want to visit Paris and not overpay, this is a great hotel. Otherwise be prepared to pay Paris prices.

Super nice helpful reception desk, all really relaxed. Location is nice, new bathroom, small but just fine for spending the night. Breakfast room is a little crowded, but still not a complaint. Breakfast is good, coffee machine uses weird tasting milk. I switched to double espresso. The graffiti style is something different and a cool idea. The bed was banana shape style, I believe the box spring was broke, the mattress itself was ok. The official category is a 2 Star and it was meeting my expectations. I would not hesitate to go there again.

The hotel is Ok very close to metro station with a lot of links, a lot of places to eat ( restaurants, take aways, MC ) just to steps a way, a minimarket in front of it.
They keep the luggage after check out .
We had a triple room on top floor with a nice view of Eiffel Power, especially in the night was amazing.
With so much to visit , for sleeping and taking a shower , this hotel is clean and perfect.

It was an amazing stay there. The Hotel is close to the Metro Station, lots of restaurants to eat out, very clean and nice rooms, nice staff. I would definitately come back to this hotel next time I visit Paris. Easy way to come from the Airport using the Train and Metro (just 10 euros). I would recommend it if you are looking for a nice cheap place to stay. Great breakfast.

A very pleasant surprise

I arrived even later than the time I had notified the hotel but it wasn't a problem, in fact the man on Reception was charming, friendly & as helpful as anyone could want or expect. This was underlined when the following evening I first realised I'd lost my key - & almost immediately locked the replacement in the room. It's the way things like that are dealt with that mean a lot & say so much about a place.

Will I be back? Mais oui! In terms of value for money you can't beat it - &, over the years, I've stayed in a fair few Parisienne budget hotels.

A coffee machine in the lobby would be nice!

Short walk from the metro. Arrived early in paris, so I can't check-in yet but they can keep my beg so I can start my trip early. And the check out time is at 11am but my buses is at 11pm but they have no problem on keeping my beg again so I can complete a tour in Paris. The staff is very friendly and trying to make a joke but I didn't get it.

If I could give this dump a -10 stars, I would! Don't trust the pictures! Don't be caught by good location! It's an old hole where only front counts. Had to fight with staff on every single issue. The only reasonable one was Sebastian, the others' English is futile and level of service non existent! No minimum facilities except 50x50 cm shower. Peeling wallpaper and paint, rust everywhere,live wires sticking out, dead flies stuck on ceilings, failing fire alarm, so called table is made of hardwood panels stuck to wall with screws, and matresses stained with only devil knows what!!! Pictures available. That's only 10% of my complaints. AVOID THIS DUMP!

Fantastic desk staff.

Staff was amazingly good. We had trouble with pickpockets before arriving and the desk staff was wonderful in helping us. They also made their phone available on many occasions as we had to make numerous collect calls to sort out credit card issues. Our first night we were also unlucky to be in the next room to a trouble-making guest who set off smoke alarms by smoking. Despite an awful night that involved police calls and the eviction of the guest, the same staff member could not be more helpful the next day when we sought assistance. The man was a saint. In fact all three desk staff that we met were fantastic.

Staff are extremely nice and helpful, greet us and gave us advise on the petty crimes in Paris. However the room was bad. We were assigned to the fifth floor and the lighting is bad. The room is warm and stuffy and there was only a fan available in the room. There was no cupboard or hangers for the dirty clothes or wet towels. The lift broke down on our last day and we had to drag our luggages down the stairs. But since it's near to the metro which is very convenient for us when we come back late in the night, we recommend it.

We stayed at the hotel for three nights, the staff spoke English and they were very helpful. We stayed here in July it was very hot, though a ventilator was provided there was no air conditioning. The bathroom was clean but the shower fairly small. The cleaners came everyday to make the beds, change the towels and clean the room. There were also free croissants available at the reception. Overall, we had a nice stay and felt the hotel offered a fair service for the price.

Location is the main advantage here if you prefer metro to move around. You have McD, Subway and a supermarket near by. The staff is very nice and helpful. Breakfast is good, but no eggs. Room and washroom is very small, but manageable.

On 8/21/16, my 2 young adult daughters and one of them' s new baby stayed in Room 21. One was awoken at 3 am by many bedbugs biting her arm and when they turned on the lights, many more went scurrying off the beds. They brought some bugs down to the front desk, who were alarmed and simply gave them key cards for new rooms. They had to move themselves. 2 days later, the other daughter realized she had scabies (if you've had them before, which she did as a child visiting Senegal, the rash appears very quickly). No refund was offered or given.
A bad night is one thing, but the cleanup once you arrive home is major, at first to prevent bringing bedbugs into our home and them 2 days later to eliminate scabies. 10 large loads of laundry, much vacuuming, and medication for everyone, including for us parents who had stayed in a nearby room.

Absolutely hostel! Old fashioned, dirty room, beer can under the bed..dirt on the floor,lift very slow it's take ages to come. No parking. For 3 of us was booked a room and only 1 shampoo was given, what about other 2 persons? No washing? City tax they ask to pay twice, I told them we paid to another receptionist which is not issued a receipt..poor poor service same as a hotel:(

The hotel is also a hostel....which should be made more clear. It is in a very noisy neighborhood so make sure you get a room high up.

Lovely friendly staff and great location

Great location close to a number of metro stations, free wifi, friendly staff, close to bars patisserie mcdonalds and supermarket.
rooms small and no air con but comfortable enough and a great stay for the price.

3 days in paris whilst on UK football holiday. Conveniant and comfortable for the price.close to metro and supermarkets/pharmacys. Also close to many great cafes,restaurants and my favourite bakery near republique metro station. Will return on my next visit. Good value for money

Friendly reception. Quick check in. Friendly service and check out. Hotel confirmed about left luggage facilities at nearby stations. Room was good size, easy access. Bathroom newly decorated (or felt like it) but without a proper shower head on the shower

Le séjour a été très agréable. La chambre était propre et confortable, et l’équipe du personnel était très sympathique et serviable pendant tout le séjour. L’emplacement est également excellent, avec plusieurs magasins, restaurants et services à proximité, ce qui rend le séjour encore plus pratique. Ce fut une très bonne expérience.
