the room was a little small but had everything we needed. Very good shower and hot water. Good daily cleaning. Elevator small but very useful. The only negative thing: breakfast was very basic, the \"egg porrige\" was terrible - plain boiled eggs would be much better

This place was honestly a dump. it's marketed as a boutique hotel but the amenities were lacking and everything was damaged. the walls were dirty, paint was chipped, outlets didn't work or weren't installed, there were flies in the room, the toilet ran all night, i can go on...

but the weirdest part is that there is not a single person working at this hotel at night other than a security person who is located in the building across the street. as a solo female traveller, i felt unsafe and just generally really let down by this experience.

i absolutely would not recommend this stay.

I stayed at this hotel multiple times when it was called Hotel Gabriel, and really enjoyed it before. When I checked in this time, I was surprised to be staying in the building across the street from reception. There was a code to let yourself in, but I found it quite spooky as I never saw anyone else in this building. In the evening, it’s a bit dark, and taking the stairs up is also a little scary. A red light automatically turns on as you approach the stairs and the hallways on each floor is so dark. The room itself, was small, but big enough for one person. The bed was very comfortable, unfortunately, my view was not the same as my last stay across the street with a view of the city. I had a view of enclosed buildings which looked into other people’s windows, so I kept the blinds closed the entire stay.

I made sure to wear my slippers at all times as the carpet didn’t seem super clean. This hotel, is though very well located and the staff at reception are friendly

Stayed 28–31 December 2025. On the first night the room had no heating overnight and no hot water the following morning, during winter conditions in Paris. There were no staff present overnight to assist.
The hotel later confirmed in writing that the heating in the room had been turned off. I was verbally promised a refund for that night and a move to a warm room. I was moved to a smaller room to mitigate the situation, but the accommodation on the first night was not fit for purpose.
A partial refund was later offered top cover the smaller room, but this did not cover the failure of service on the first night. I was also disappointed by the reception staff on the final day I booked a car to the airport new years eve - timing was essential because of the traffic. The car didnt arrive, they had zero urgency and in the end I ran onto the street with cases in tow and finally hailed down a cab. I also note that they have two hotel buildings and the other building on the 28th had no electricity AT ALL and there were no staff on reception to deal with the customers who had no room and could not be checked in, cold, waiting and generally miserable. I had no heating or hot water and they had no electricity. I was told that in Paris no one refunds. That isn't French law but it's certainly the attitude. Pretty hotel, poor service and communication. It was overall a really poor and costly stay.

Cool hotel with old world charm that is very walkable and close to some cool things. The room was very comfortable with nice linens and a comfortable bed and desk area. they boasted nice views as well. The breakfast buffet was fantastic with lots of great options. The staff was helpful and accommodating.

The room was extremely small. The amenities were good and so were the staff. The breakfast was good and had good choices. The exception was the pre-cooked scrambled eggs which did not taste natural.
I was disappointed that the receptionist at the hotel collected 15€ just for calling in the taxi for me. The Taxi cost me 60 € instead of 40 €. Uber would have been 30€. The receptionist said it would the same, “they are all the same”.

Everyhting seemed to be great, clean room, good service, it was nice to see people we knew, although we did miss some of the staff who were no longer there. Great room, we missed some of the things that were part of Hotel Gabriel. The only minor thing was the bath towels were a bit thin and seemed a little worn comared to what we have experienced in the past.

First of all, I didn’t get the room I booked because it was not available. I ended up in an other building and with a room that was looking old and dated. On top of that, the hotel is under construction and it was super noisy all the time up until 6pm. Very disappointed.

Bed was good. Bathroom was okay but lacked space especially near the toilet. Room also gets a bit too toasty at night. Door locks and knobs on the door are absolutely horrible. Its so difficult to open the doors its crazy. Breakfast was decent. I would have given 4 stars if not for this next issue. When we were checking out we asked if we can leave our small carry on size suitcases for an hour, the woman at reception didnt even make eye contact or say it nicely she just said \"I cant.\" And then we came back a bit later to use the toilet and there were suitcases blocking the way and when we asked to use it she was not accommodating at all and said if you can get through, sure try. Her attitude was horrible. Ive never had hotel reception speak like that to someone staying. Considering that my review feels like i want to give 2 stars but considering everything else its a 3. Stay somewhere else if you want a good experience.

This is a small hotel with classic charm in a great location for walking or the metro. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. They all spoke English, which was a bonus. On the corner there is an amazing patisserie. There is an adequate complimentary breakfast at the hotel but skip it for the neighborhood spots.

Good location in the buzzing Marais area. Tons of shops and cafés nearby. Lovely to walk everywhere. Metro very close by too.
We he the premier room which was large by Paris standards. Room had all mod cons.
Breakfast was adequate. Breads, eggs etc. Some fruit apart from banana would be nice.
Staff were efficient not particularly friendly.
There’s a supermarket just around the corner.

Hotel Gabriel is a lovely boutique hotel; clean and very comfortable room; we loved our room with balcony. Nice location within walking distance of Le Marais, l'Arsenale, Bastille market. We could not figure out how to work the tv in our room, but in all fairness, we did not ask the staff for help (and who really needs tv in Paris :-)). This was our second stay, and we look forward to staying again.

I had a wonderful stay at the hotel. As an American visiting Paris for the first time, I found the staff to be patient with my very limited ability to speak French as well as friendly.

The Continental breakfast was lovely and the location is excellent. It is close to the metro and to the bus. There are many dining options as well. I’d definitely stay again!

We booked the Prestige Room after seeing enticing photos on Expedia that clearly showed a private balcony—one of the main reasons we chose this hotel. Unfortunately, upon arrival, we discovered that our room had no balcony, despite what was advertised.

After raising the issue with the front desk, we were offered a smaller room that did include a balcony, but it was a downgrade in size and amenities. To make matters worse, there was a room that matched the original description, but its door was broken and deemed unusable. We were left with no choice but to accept the smaller room.

Throughout this frustrating experience, no compensation was offered for the downgrade or the inconvenience.

I would caution future guests to double-check room details and not rely solely on the photos provided online.

Everything you need in Paris

What an incredible hotel. Everything was wonderful. The chic French setting and design. Room size is ‘cosy’ but that’s to be expected in the traditional building. Everything was super clean, very comfortable bed. Excellent shower.
Fantastic free breakfast with lots of choice.
Extremely friendly & helpful staff.
Super location in the Marais with all its great small boutiques and stylish independent shops.
When I’m next in Paris I’ll be back!

Enjoyed this boutique hotel! So much character and charm. Located on quiet street, rooms are good size with lots of outlets to charge electronics. The bathroom was beautiful and large. There is a lift. Breakfast offered nice variety from pastries to meats and cheeses. Coffee machine made everything from cappuccino to hot chocolate. Staff was super nice and accommodating.

Only stayed one night but it was very nice! The concierge spoke English to us, which was very helpful, and let us know that they gave us a room upgrade. The bathroom was very spacious and I wish we stayed longer. Breakfast was filling and very quiet. Didn’t try a beverage outside of breakfast but appreciated that it was available. Hotel gabriel was so cute! Me and my boyfriend loved the decor, the breakfast, and the general location. So many shops around us, close to many bistros, and close to the metro. I would recommend anyone to stay here, especially if you are planning to use public transportation. The uber could be kind of expensive and a bit far from the eiffel tower, the louvre, and the arc. However, taking the metro was an amazing option. Many times the train was much faster than the ubers. 10/10

Great base to explore Paris

This is a lovely hotel in a great area of Paris for jumping on and off the metro to explore the city with some great restaurants and bakery’s nearby.

The hotel room we stayed in was excellent with a huge and comfortable bed and the balcony was an extra bonus on an evening.

The only downside of our room was the shower. We had no hook on the wall for the shower head meaning we had to handhold the head to wash ourselves, sending water everywhere and making it a challenge to shower quickly.

The hotel lift is tiny (as is often the case with old Paris Hotels) so not suitable for people who are claustrophobic and can’t take the stairs.

Staff were all very friendly and helpful and allowed us to leave our cases on leaving day as our train wasn’t until the afternoon.

We would definitely stay here again, hopefully in a room with a proper shower!

Pros:
I liked the decor of the hotel. It felt like old Paris. The rooms were clean and more spacious than others in the city at that price point. The staff during the day were very helpful and pleasant. I had a bathroom that had a tub that was luxurious(worth upgrading to).
Cons:
The man who was at the desk in the evening was brusk, irritable and impatient. The doors to the rooms were very heavy(metal fire doors)and difficult to open with the key. Parking was challenging.

It's where we always stay when we are in Paris.

We have stayed at this hotel every year for the last five or six years. It's a great location, between two major Metro stops, there are a lot of great places to eat and the hotel itself, is very quiet. They have been renovating the rooms, so it was a treat for us to stay in one of the newly renovated rooms. We know so many of the people who work there, and it is always a treat to return because it feels like our home away from home. The rooms are comfortable, clean, breakfast is great, with a good selection of food, pastries, fruit, etc. But most importantly it's about the staff. They are extremely helpful, kind, generous with the time, and always willing to go beyond to assist with whatever is needed. Four of our friends stayed at the hotel with us and they enjoyed their stay as well. We will return next year for sure. It's always so nice to see so many familiar faces.

The staff is amazing and the hotel itself is great. The only problem is that the walls are thin and there’s bound to be a lot of noise if your room is near the service stairwell. Since there was also construction work the week I stayed (wish I was warned beforehand) it was almost impossible to rest properly during daytime. And I needed that badly due to jetlag and a weird work schedule. I’d still go back but not during construction work…

Herman is an exceptional employee with the rest of the other staff. Herman helped us talk to other front desk employees so we can get checked in early. We arrived in Paris at 6 am and got to the hotel by 9 am. Herman helped us to get an early accommodation by advocating for us. The hotel service too that was provided for us was exceptional too! We get daily room clean up and change of towels; breakfast food was amazing, and the proximity to metro station was the selling point for us. The convenience of having 2-4 metro stations nearby to the hotel allowed us to go to places at anytime.

The hotel was lovely however I must be honest and write a review about the service. The hotel has confirmed over email that I would have an upgrade and over the phone twiceZ I arrived at the hotel and I was given my original room and no upgrade, however the manager kindly said she could upgrade me the following day. The room was nice however we had to wait till 3pm to get in the room. The hotel staff said I could enter my older room as I left expensive bottle of shampoo in there, I entered the room and there was luggage in the room therefore other guests had already checked in that room. I found this all very odd and shampoo was binned.. other than that. The hotel is cute and small. It has a nice feel to it.

Charming traditional small French hotel. The complimentary breakfast in the charming, cozy dining room was really great. Front desk staff Angelique and Walid were very helpful and pleasant, and the housekeeping and dining room staff were very professional. The location is near one of the larger Metro stations, making Paris easily accessible, and near several nice neighborhood restaurants. The room was nice, albeit small by American standards.

Everything was great . The only thing I would change would be to be able to have the coffee machine in the lobby at night available for free for your guests and offer a water bottle in the room for your guests free of charge . Larger bath towels would be great . Everyday I had one big and one small, never 2 big bath towels .

Super cute boutique hotel within close proximity to restaurants. The staff are super friendly, professional, and helpful. We felt very safe as they lock the front doors after hours, but there is always someone on staff to let you in quickly. We will definitely stay here again the next time we are in Paris!
