Hotel Venini (Milan) is quite close to the Central Station (€12 for a taxi). The hotel looks plain from the outside, but don't be deceived - inside, it was very clean and comfortable.
Our room was a good size, and the bathroom was excellent - everything was very clean..
Breakfast (Continental) was included and there was enough variety of cereals, cold meats, bread/toast ..... to give us a good start to the day.

The area around the hotel has many restaurants in a short walking distance - and the one we chose gave us our best meal of our time in Italy: a huge bowl of penne pasta, a big bowl of amazing risotto, two glasses of wine and a coke for a total of €24.

We would thoroughly recommend Hotel Venini.

The room was affordable and the location was quite good. It is a walkable distance from the railway station and the area has also some nice restaurants definitely worth trying. The room was clean and it had the basic things you would expect, as AC etc.

The downsides of staying in this hotel were:
- beds with no pillowtop mattress, which had an impact in my sleep due to the strings from the mattress pushing my back
- A bit of noise coming from outside as well as from the hotel

The costumer service was horrible, I had to pay 80 € in the front desk for one extra friend stay in my room only 3 hours until the flight time .

Great breakfast, good location, good value

Stay was pleasant. The reception was always smiling and ready for little chat. The breakfast nicely prepared with good taste, generally looks like not much but the quality is very, very good. The lady in charge of breakfast is ready to make any type of egg or any coffee/tee . High standard typical sweet - Italian style breakfast.
Room was tidy with the fridge. Towels were change everyday. For some needed, for me and the planet wasn't that necessary unless dirty left on the floor.
I can say good quality for this price.

Bad experience. Would not come again.

After couple of months of travelling this was the most unpleasnt stay I've had, mostly because of the quality of the service. The manager almost didn't speak english; had to wait long everytime I needed something from the desk, and finally when I got her attention - she didn't help willingly.
Poor wifi in our room.
Really bad neighborhood - Didn't feel safe walking there in night time. But thankfully it was couple of minutes from a metro\tram station.
Breakfast was poor (and as mention before regarding her service - as the manager saw that we were the only people in the dining room, and she didn't refill anything...)

Would not recommand this place.

Free parking for 2 cars only (DON'T LEAVE ANYTHING IN YOUR CAR!)

Decent hotel. The checkin needs improvement

I would divide my review to first inpression and overall.
First impression not good: in order to get in the receptionist has to electronicaly unlock the door. Then you get greeted by a lady with almost no english. Then she asks for the city tax and gives you a receipt for it only after you insist on it. Then she tries to keep your passport (I of course declined). Basically bad first impression.
2.Overall: much better. The hotel is 10min walk from Central Station, normal local area (not touristy). Nice spacious room, clean, new firniture, good bed, new nice bathroom. Breakfast decent. One thing I did not like: when coming very late I had to ring the bell and wait for a minute or two on the steet for the receptionist to come from somewhere to open the door. He was very nice but I think it is sad that he has to be there during the night opening the door and then working during the day too (serving breakfast, helping at theceception and so on).

Only stayed a couple of nights and chose it for the location. Unfortunately they \"didn't receive\" the booking for an airport pick-up so spent a small fortune on a taxi only to be told on arrival we could have caught a train for a few euro. Rooms were clean but hot and stuffy. Breakfast was basic continental. Staff reasonably helpful with advice on eateries.

Clean, friendly and comfortable the Venini Hotel is close but not too close to the central train station in Milan. Average breakfast with above average rooms and staff we enjoyed our stay here. Of note perhaps in this wonderfully noisy and alive country that is Italy is the fact that the Venini Hotel is actually quiet at night.

A very good choice but you should take subway

Excellent hotel condition, close to Milan Central train station but you should take train (subway) to the city center (Duomo). Be careful: Milan has TWO Venini streets, and I expected to stay at another street walking distance to Duomo. But not a big deal that I stayed further.

At the checkout, the clerk charged me extra Milan city tax for my 14 y.o. child, whereas Expedia site says about no city tax for children below 18. So, be careful and avoid small extra charges. Also, keep in mind that if you order tea in the evening, you pay 3.50 euro per teacup. The breakfast is included and is really good, much better than an ordinary \"continental\" breakfast in many other places. So, we did not feel hunger until late afternoon.

The third floor room was small yet very clean and comfortable.

Unfortunately the room windows looked directly across into other apartments which was a slight annoyance, as it was quite humid and leaving the shutters open would provide those purveyors equal opportunity to see me.

The windows had no fly screen, so I had to close either the shutters or the windows themselves in order to get any privacy but suffer the humidity from no air flow coming through.

Shower was similarly extremely small but once again the cleanliness was faultless and given the choice I would much rather the latter over a larger space.

Breakfast was simple but morish with a medium selection of hams, eggs, bacon, pastures and cereals.That was certainly enough choice for me and I was extremely satisfied with the espressos.

Wifi working. No English Channel on TV but that's only a very minor quip.

Overall I was happy with this hotel and would stay there again for the value and cleanliness (and maybe also the espressos).c

All in all. A good hotel. Location wise, not as convenient to tourist hot spots such as Duomo, yet it is relatively close to the subway station, Pasteur. It will take around 20 to 25 minutes by walking from the central train station, Milan to the hotel. Not all the hotel staffs speak or understand English. However, the restaurant recommendation is excellent, if you pick the right one out of three. Clean and quiet. Breakfast is okay.

For the money, this hotel was a great value. It is a little out of the way from the tourists and shopping but my daughter and I were backpacking and it was perfect for an affordable night's stay. The metro is right around the corner and great restaurants and gelato are minutes away. The breakfast was great as was the service. If you like to be coddled and have all the amenities of a 5 star hotel then choose another place.

Good value, easy commute to Venice

Previous comments by other guests are accurate. You can take the 16 bus without the red stripe from Venice, and it is quite easy to identify at which stop to get off when you return back to the hotel. Initially we were planning to walk to the Venice-Mestre train station (25 min walk) and take a train into the Venice, but the bus is far more convenient. The front desk of the hotel sells bus tickets. They are very helpful. It is helpful to print out google map of the area to fin your way from the train station to the hotel on foot.

It's a simple place, but friendly and warm. The rooms have just been renovated and refurbished, so everything's new, clean, and in working order. Our room had wooden beams across the ceiling in an interesting corner angle, which made it feel cozy and different from any standard hotel.

It's a three-star, still -- no frills on breakfast for example, or even on providing tourist information -- but very friendly, very clean and newly done, very comfortable bed, etc. The staff (who seem to be the owners) are very nice and speak English well.

It's 10-15 minutes walk from the train station, and I really liked being in a residential neighborhood that felt 'real,' not like a tourist destination. Is one block from the tram and from the subway, so it's easy.

Stille, rent og enkelt.

Lite enkelt og stille hotell ca. 20 minutters gange fra jernbanestasjonen. Trikk 1 stopper rett utenfor og tar deg til stasjonen eller til sentrum. Vi hadde en trivelig natt her med to rom. Ett av dem hadde en liten veranda ut mot bakgaten.

L'albergo è pulito e funzionale, la biancheria candida e il letto comodo. Abbiamo soggiornato anche in precedenza presso la struttura e ci siamo trovati bene, questa volta abbiamo avuto una camera al terzo piano, su un pianerottolo rovente, ma la stanza aveva l'aria condizionata. Unico neo l'illuminazione molto scarsa, per cui non si vedeva granchè. L'albergo è situato nel quartiere Nolo, movimentato anche di sera e collegato benissimo con il centro, attraverso la metro 1 linea rossa che porta direttamente in Duomo. Colazione normale, con cornetti e brioches freschi e caffè e cappuccini serviti come al bar. Tutto sommato, considerati i costi di Milano, l'hotel ha un buon rapporto qualità/prezzo.

Hyvä sijainti jos matkustaa pienellä budjetilla, ei ihan keskustassa mutta raitiovaunu ja metro menevät läheltä. Myös kohtuu hintaisia ruokapaikkoja ja baareja lähellä. Hotelli muuten hyvä mutta ainakin 1kerroksessa asuessa ei mitään äänieristystä. Olimme 4 yötä ja koko sen ajan huoneeseen kuului jostain basso, yötä päivää taukoa oli ehkä 2 tuntia koko aikana. Hotellissa oli myös jollain asiakkaalla koira joka haukkui koko ajan. Joten nukkumiseen en tätä hotellia suosittele. Korvatulpat pakolliset. Muuten ihan ok.

Hotel carino e comodo per la posizione vicino alla metropolitana. Camere riscaldate, pulite, biancheria da bagno con cambio giornaliero. La colazione, causa normativa Covid, è stata servita in camera e sono state rispettate tutte le richieste. Nel complesso è un ottimo tre stelle. Un consiglio: poichè il nostro bagno era scarsamente illuminato (una lampada dello specchio trovata già fulminata) sarebbe preferibile effettuare un controllo che tutto funzioni prima di assegnare la camera. In ogni caso ci soamo trovati benissimo e ci ritorneremo.

L'albergo è stato scelto perché vicino, raggiungibile anche a piedi, alla stazione ferroviaria di Milano.
La camera era pulita ed accogliente. La posizione era tale per cui di notte c'era silenzio, non affacciava cioè sulla via principale, e questo ha permesso un ottimo riposo.
La temperatura in camera era più che buona, il mese di novembre fuori può essere freddo e di conseguenza anche in camera, ma non è stato questo il caso.
Bagno sufficientemente spazioso e pulito.
Personale educato e cortese.
In definitiva un'ottima esperienza.

Buena situación y bien comunicado con la estación central. Para ir caminando al centro, se puede aunque queda lejos, pero para justo delante el tranvía. Limpieza correcta. Es pequeño y trato familiar. Mucho ruido por las, noches por los tranvías, que pasan al lado. El desayuno, básico, poca variedad, pero suficiente.

Fin beliggenhed i ft. undergrund. Gode spisemuligheder og bar steder indenfor 100 m. Hotellet levede til fulde op det som blev præsenteret på hjemmesiden og venligt personale var der også.
Alt i alt meget tilfredsstillende.

Pour y arriver, c'était un peu difficile, mais l'hôtel est proche d'un métro. Son personnel, spécialement Alberto, était très attentionné, aimable et cordial. Comme nous devions prendre le train à 6h45, Alberto nous a donné des biscuits, des gâteaux et des boissons. Nous apprécions son geste. Les chambres et la salle de bain sont grandes et très propres. Je recommande sans problème cet hôtel.

Evitar si quieres un buen trato

La ubicacion no es buena, en nuestra habitacion hacia demasiado calor y no habia manera de regularlo. En cuanro a comodidad estaba adecuado. Lo peor es la atencion. El dia de partida necesitabamos tomar un tren temprano, el desayuno es de 7 a 10, a las 6:45am hicimos check out y el desayuno ya estaba servido pero no se nos permitio tomar nada porque aun no eran las 7. Lo peor de todo no fue la ausencia de alimentacion que pagamos, sino la manera en que fuimos tratados por presumir qie podiamos tomar algo ya servido. Pocas veces me he sentido tan humillado. Curioso que un negocio que depende del turismo se permita maltratar al turista. Nunca mas.
