We stayed in room 105. Unfortunately, there was a horrible smell coming from the bathroom. At first we didn’t notice it because we only dropped off our luggage and went out to explore the city. However, when we came back later and took a shower, the smell became unbearable. The shower door was broken, so they had added a shower curtain on one side instead. There was also mold on the bathroom wall. I had to open the window for fresh air, but the shutter handle was broken and wouldn’t open properly. We still managed to get a little air into the room. The curtains had holes from cigarettes even though the room was supposed to be non-smoking, and the walls were dirty with very rundown furniture.
Because of the smell, we had to sleep with the windows open all night. Unfortunately, the street outside was extremely noisy, with trams running frequently, so I was unable to sleep at all.
The next morning I complained at the front desk, and thankfully they moved us to a much better room. I appreciate that they resolved the issue, but the first night was very uncomfortable and disappointing.
