lol when I told my staff where I’d booked they said your staying in the murder hotel (no murders have actually taken place btw) but is there was a hotel you could be murdered in this is the place !!!!
I had to share my room with about 25 silver fish insects running around my bathroom and when I showed videos of the rather massive insects I was told we will get pest control out lol ! Course you will ;) the school next door means if you leave for work at anytime between 8-9 am you are not going anywhere ! The parents are quite adamant you have no right being on the same road as them !!! I had to join the school drop off line just to get out!!!! My children are 26, 21 and 19 and I didn’t have them with me to drop off to school ! This place needs some serious looking at and some honest on the booking page

The dilapidated room looked like a movie scene from the Bottom TV program. Firstly the very tired and literally held together with string approach was too much. The paint is mismatched in the room. The blinds dont cover the windows, the toilet area had en-grimed filth at the base. The shower rail was not attached to its own fixing and some terrible makeshift thing held it to the ceiling. Over the decades there are still bits of shower attachments spread around the wall not in use and on the theme of this screw holes scattered around the walls like bullet holes.

Breakfast was a let down with a single sausage, bacon, egg no heat and not enjoyable...

The inconsiderate guests were up at 12am- 5am holding court loudly on their phones, banging around on the doors and generally scaring my 7 year old child who didnt understand why people could be so loud.

Reception were informed by phone but failed to address the concerns.

Dont stay here if you want a to stay in or around rochdale with any sense of what standards are.

Advised only on check in they don't do evening meals and told to use Uber eats or walk 10 mins to a restaurant 1st room stank of smoke, changed room no heating just a tiny fan heater which barely kept the chill off the room ,outside it was 3 degrees. Breakfast was small ,beans weren't even heated and toast was precooked and cold more like a hostel than a hotel Sent in a complaint and got a generic sorry we will look into this email but nothing else ,no personal contact

Nothing went well, You need to remove this hotel from you listing its terrible, stayed in better hostels. It NOT good for your business or guests.
The pictures for the hotel are nothing like the hotel inside or out, its being used as emergency . If we hadn't arrived so late and already paid would have gone to the Hilton or Toby. or if I had a way of contacting you I would have asked for an alternative.
The rooms are nothing like the pictures; the facilities are not as listed, Bathroom and decor are terrible. We got upgraded to room 110 a 4 poster bed with pillows so thin you could do without, with no drapes or curtain, just blinds that don't blackout.
Service is none existant, breakfast waited over 10 minutes before I could find anyone in the kitchen, reception not manned. Breakfast deep fried even the bacon, egg swimming in oil, toast cold.

This use to be a brilliant hotel, like the pictures, thought it might be a little tired but what a SHOCK.

Plus Point - the heating in the room worked.

There is so much wrong with this place that it need a total revamp and re-decor.

Bathroom is a health hazard and looked dirty, mould, broken towel rail, no bath towels, no shampoo, no hairdryer, bath robes, no radio etc.

If fact they should be sued under the Trade descriptions act and mis-selling of goods act.

Thats as well as breaking health & safety rules like propping an automatic fire door open with a fire extinguisher.

It would have been a good stay except for one thing...the bed mattress was terrible and I spent the night tossing and turning and only managed 3 hours sleep and I was speaking at a funeral the next day so it wasnt good. Eveything else was great so if they could just provide mattresses where the springs dont bite into your back, shoulders and thighs it would be a great place to stay

The less said the better. Hostel would be a compliment, no hot water, terrible smell of dampness, used as a homeless shelter through covid. Thankfully Hotels.com moved me into a nicer hotel - complimentary for the second night. Do not book here if on a business trip.

Staff were doing their best but the hotel need some TLC and money spent to get it up to standard. Not the worst place but the previous write ups are obvious outdated and their haydays are in the past.
Without the staff Luke and Carl i would not have stayed an extra night. They were the hotel. Carls food was spot on great. Lukes attention was also great. Hotel itself not so. Motel stroke canteen but potential is there ,just needs a lot of attention.

One night stay.

Let's start with, this is the modern day and the kids wanted WiFi to watch their programmes. WiFi was not working all weekend. The downstairs bar area toilets had broken cubicle door locks and one of the toilets didn't even flush. The water pressure in the shower and bath was garbage on 201. There was no plug for the bath and I had to ask for one. Great when you have a toddler who won't stay put. The food want brilliant, deep fried mushrooms, who does that? No kids menu but they did get my youngest what he wanted but no price was given. Considering they sell to attract families, there was nothing for the kids to do. The windows in the room were sealed shut so I couldn't open them for air. They've attempted to make an effort downstairs with the decor but the rooms and service need a massive overhaul. And do something for the little ones.

Rochdale's a nice town but this hotel was not,

I would not stay here again, some of the staff were rude and not very helpful, their door swipe system was not working so a member of staff had to escort you to the room to let you in, At breakfast you were hurried to vacate your table as there was a queue and the area was not big enough to cater for the guests. The whole place did not give off any good vibes.

Turned up at 10.30pm to find no heating, no hot water and the room keys didn't work. Staff tried their best but we had a terrible first night. Situation got no better for the second night and we ended up checking out and going home to the Isle of Wight a 250 trip over night. Really not happy with this hotel.

Bed extremely comfortable but a few things could be better!! The plug was too small for the bath, one of the plug sockets didn’t work, the doors are a pain to open as the key cards need a little jiggle before they open. The door didn’t close properly and you had to use the key card on the way out before it would shut properly.

Have reported the Hotel to rochdale environmental health dept as I have received extensive bite marks on my body from Bed Bugs.
I am still waiting for them to reply as was only there 1 night ago.
This is the first time I have ever had this from my many nights in hotels over the last 20 years.
I have been advised to see my Doctor due to the severity of the bites (over 20).
Wife advised me not to submit photos of the bites

An old building but we'll-maintained over the years. The place would benefit from a little modernisation (for example, an elevator as the staircases between floors are very narrow, especially when carrying a large suitcase). However, this is just a minor thing and those narrow staircases are all original to the building and part of its charm
Cleanliness is generally very good, although there is a little room for improvement.
The one thing that set The Broadfield apart was its staff! Every member of staff I spoke to was very friendly and personable. Nothing was too much trouble. Overall, an excellent experience.

I arrived late at night but was given a warm welcome by reception who even offered to carry our bags the short distance to the room. Parking was easy and safe and the room was compact but clean, comfortable and modern with a nice en-suite shower room. Definitely recommended and I will stay here again if I am in the area.

Excellent friendly helpful staff in all areas.
The hotel itself is in need of some upgrades to the fabric of the old building, but otherwise happy with it.
There is a good sized bar with food.
Everyone went out of their way to be helpful. They organised taxis for us to get to a wedding and advised local transport information .
Staff would be 10/10 in all areas.

The price of a room is unbeatable at £40 per night, and the building itself is interesting - late Victorian/ Edwardian with a stunning huge stained and leaded glass window in the centre. In the middle of Broadfield Park and at the top of a hill, it is very quiet, but only 5 minutes' walk from Rochdale town centre. The food was very good and reasonably priced, and the staff kind and helpful. The bed was very comfortable, the room and bathroom contained everything you would need, and everything was impeccably clean. The furniture and fixtures are not ultra-modern, but serve their purpose perfectly well. Some minor points need attention, such as a couple of missing light bulbs (but several that worked), and a curtain rail which definitely needing replacing. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel, which would need only a small amount of spending to eliminate any defects.

I ask them to look at the CC TV.

DON’T STAY HERE!

The room was very dated and grubby snd smelt of smoke. The carpet was threadbare and stained, light switches were filthy, curtains shabby, hot water dangerously hot with no warning sign, shower worst I’d ever had with weak power and kept going from boiling to cold. Heating was on throughout hotel all night on midsummers day making it unbearable and difficult to sleep. Everything in room very dated. Card keys never worked and involved a long walk back to reception each time, staff said it was an ongoing problem and the system was being looked at. Corridors smelt horrible. We couldn’t wait to escape the next morning and skipped breakfast. Absolutely dreadful hotel.

Nice hotel with friendly staff.

Nice old building with character. The ground floor has been refurbished and they will start on the other 2 floors soon.
Our room on the first floor was well presented. I appreciated the mirrors and 2 plug sockets each side of the bed. The bed was comfortable. The room had character and a nice view over the park, even though it rained the whole time we were there.
I also liked the fact that we could turn the radiators to whatever temperature we liked. Useful for drying wet coats. There was a nice lamp on the work desk and individual reading lights by the bed as well as the overall room light. It was nice to be able to control the lighting and temperature in the room and was much better than standard ‘one size fits all’ hotel rooms.
The only negative for the room was the fact that the shower over the bath was lukewarm but the water in the sink was hot. Perhaps this will be sorted when the en-suites are modernised.
We didn’t have evening meal as we were visiting family but the prices seemed very reasonable. The choice at breakfast was limited- no pastries or fruit but there was yoghurt and cooked breakfast on offer. I had an omelette which was cooked to perfection and my husband declared the full English very good.
The breakfast waiter was very friendly and helpful.
We only stayed one night but would definitely go back.

Stayed in room 117 which is in desperate need of renovations. The bed wasn't the best and there was no cold water which made the shower/bath a painful experience. Not sure when the last time it had a good clean either as there was tree bark and leaves all over the windowsill and dresser. You get what you pay for i suppose. The lady on reception was lovely and made sure we were well looked after. Thank you very much!

Only booked day before stay and requested a quiet room. Hotel emailed back to say they had received request. On arrival nobody on reception had to telephone hotel. we where given room 101 directly opposite the entrance door, which everytime some one came through, slammed closed behind them. (Far from a quiet room) people coming and going until 4pm.

The room was tiny but clean. Didn't know until the next morning only hot water in the sink, no hot water what so ever in either bath or shower.

Hotel dining room and bar freezing cold was heated by two fan heaters on the floor.

Far from an enjoyable stay would not stay again

About half the staff were friendly and helpful, half not. We stayed in a family room with 2 singles and a large double bed. The beds were very comfortable, the coffee and tea mugs very nice, with good tea and biscuits and milk provided. The towels plentiful and towels and bedding were very clean. The reception, lounge and bar area were comfortable and recently redecorated. Overall, it's still probably the best place to stay in Rochdale.

We stayed over Christmas, so there was housekeeping only some days, and the kitchen was mostly closed with no or extremely limited food options available. Breakfast was fine. Our room had no soap when we checked in at the sink-a few uses worth of shower gel in the shower so at least we could wash our hands after toileting. But we ran out and asked for more. We asked 5 people, including on duty housekeeping and reception. We never got soap over 12 hours. Finally at bedtime we insisted and the on duty manager took some from an empty room for us, because housekeeping had none.

Telephone to reception didn't work, had to go to ask for towels, tea sugar coffee milk and toilet rolls..there was no plug in bath but start were really nice and moved us to another room

Paid for a room and was unable to use the car park due to Christmas parties resulting in us having to park on the street. Beds where uncomfy reslting in a poor nights sleep and the bathroom had pubic hair in the bath.

Room needed re decorating, shower unit leaked and had black mould. Bed very used and wall paper coming away from walls. Very Slow service, several time had to wait nearly ten mintues for someone to come to the bar!!!!! to serve

Lovely one night stay. Friendly staff, made very welcome. 10 Minute walk to town centre. Really nice atmosphere. Definitely would stay there again. Breakfast was stunning.

Excellently location for Rochdale town centre. Rooms spacious and comfortable. Only annoyance was being situated next to he entry door to the first floor which people kept banging. Recommend requesting a room away from this!

Have stayed at Broadfield a few times now and all I can say is I won’t go anywhere else staff are lovely very friendly an go out of their way to help , had a meal too it was very good too and the young gentleman serving us was a star too thank you will hopefully be back soon
