Disappointing Stay – Not Worth the Price

For the price paid, this hotel fell well below expectations. The check-in process was slow and inefficient, setting the tone for the rest of the stay.

Access to the spa was unnecessarily awkward — we weren’t given passes at check-in and had to chase this up ourselves. When we finally got in, the spa itself was underwhelming: not particularly clean and definitely not what you’d call modern.

The room was another letdown. It was noisy, making it hard to relax, and despite booking for four people, it wasn’t properly prepared on arrival. We had to call three separate times before it was finally set up correctly — something that should have been done as a basic standard.

Overall, it feels like this hotel is charging premium prices without delivering a premium experience. Wouldn’t return

The Radisson was great for a short stay. Our experience at Reception from a male member of staff was fantastic. Unfortunately I don’t remember his name, however, he was incredibly friendly, funny and helpful. He kindly waived the 2nd £15 pool fee as although the booking was for two rooms, we were one party.

We were lucky to have interconnecting rooms for our trip which was ideal for our party but receiving the information about this was challenging and took multiple emails to reception.

The children loved the swimming pool but again it would have been good to know in advance the hours are restricted.

The staff on the bar weren’t the most friendly and we did have to wait for service on a couple of occasions and it wasn’t always with a smile!

Unfortunately the seal on the shower screen was split which meant the bathroom flooded when using the shower.

Also the tea and coffee was not readily topped up so we did have a morning without any teabags.

Overall I would recommend the hotel for a central stay in Manchester.

After booking on Hotels.com website I received an email stating that the pool and spa facilities would not be included in the price. As this was not advertised anywhere on Hotels.com website the advisor had no option but to give me complimentary passes. I’m glad because there is no way I would have paid for the facilities, the pool was tiny, there were only 2 showers and it was not relaxing at all. As a disabled driver parking was confusing, no signage but at least it was free. The staff at the front desk were very welcoming and helpful. However, the bartender on the morning that I left could not understand that a Latte should not look or taste the way it did and proceeded to take £4 off me. The room was nice but not as clean as I expected. There was dust on top of the mirror and headboard in the main room. The chair by the TV had holes in it and the side table wobbled. In the bathroom there was a hair bobble left in the shower tray, there was pubic hairs on the bathroom floor and when you flushed the loo, big black bits from the rim came loose and settled at the bottom of the loo (from not being cleaned). The bed was really comfy though and it was nice to have a good size TV to watch.

When we arrived check in wasn’t so smooth. We got to our room. A suite, and the bed for our children hadn’t been set up. So we had to go down and ask for this to be done.
The staff in the pool area were rude and told us that we only had 30 mins to swim due to the pool closing for kids at 8pm. Which wasn’t communicated with us.
On our check out day, we were showing getting ready to leave and the staff hadn’t told us they were having the windows cleaned. So we had a window cleaner on a harness outside out windows. Which really wasn’t great considering we hadn’t been pre warned! Not great planning from the hotel and had we not have noticed before our children got out the bath then it could have been embarrassing.
Breakfast was nice. The meals in the restaurant at night were average. For such a nice hotel I did expect a bit more from the menu.
There was a lady who worked in the restaurant in the evenings who was nice and very helpful. But she was the only helpful member of staff which again is a shame.
Style but no substance is how I would describe it

Front staff at reception was friendly and informative.
When booked I had free entry to pool however when I arrived policy changed to which I had to pay £15. When we went to use pool the front desk staff member (female with brown hair older woman) very rude, had stinking attitude and very much needs to improve customer service skills. The therapists were lovely and very welcoming. The other woman didn’t even say hello!

I really enjoyed my stay at Radisson Hotel Manchester City Centre. The staff were friendly and helpful at all times. My room itself was fantastic and up to the high standards set by the Radisson brand. I didn’t have time to use many of the facilities, but would definitely look forward to using them in a future visit. Definitely a hotel suitable for all types of travellers!

Family room wasn't ready when we arrived at 15:15 so reception offered another room which they advised us they would send someone up to add the 2nd bed for children - I said would this be within the hour they said yes. 2 hours later I chased. Then another hour later at kids bedtime after getting back from being out I had to go to reception to insist they do it now since it was urgent. Then actioned within a few minutes. Disappointing start. Some rose petals found in the room on the floor (we stayed the day after Velentines) so wasn't thoroughly cleaned. Asked next day for replacement loo rolls and coffee which weren't done within 8 hours so chased again and then resolved. Pool facilities were very busy on the 2 times we went there and felt oversubscribed by day passes or local gym users - changing rooms far too small to handle more than 4 people at a time.
Breakfast buffet above average, room was otherwise nice (Superior family room), discount arrangement with car park opposite was reasonable, location to town centre very good.

We chose this hotel above others because it had a pool but would have preferred to have gone elsewhere if we visited the area again.

The room was very clean, bed comfortable. However I found the lighting poor, I don't understand why hotels don't have a big light. The bathroom felt like it was for a swimming baths. for a superior king room it was very utilitarian, I was expecting a bit more luxury. The wifi was spotty and I couldn't see any instructions on how to use it. The staff were lovely and accommodating, really lovely people. Thank you to them. The room doors are so heavy and the almighty bang they made when closing was terrible.

The hotel is in a great location and its good overall.

We chose it for the pool but be aware if you have children, theres specific times that you can use the pool with them. Its a bit of a downer as you only get 2 hours in the morning and maybe 3 in the afternoon on the weekends. And there is a limit on how many people are allowed in, so if you go to breakfast first, by the time it opens at 8, you might have to queue up until people come out to go in.
I get why, but its still not great when theres a time limit on when you can use the pool with the kids.
And also theres swiming lessons going on during this time, so theres a bit of the pool that you cant use either during \"kids time\".

There was some sort of issue with the towel delivery so there were no extra towels nowhere (including the hotel) except for people that used the spa and the advice was to go get your towel in the room.

Unsure if it was a fault with the system or someone messing with the fire alarm, but it went off randomly on friday and then again saturday night. While there was an announcement on friday saying it was a false alarm, this didnt happen on Saturday, so went all the way down from the 5th floor with small kids in toe as well as other people just to be told it wasnt real.. lifts werent working so had to climb back up.

All the staff were very helpful. Breakfast was good but nothing special (lots of bread but no bread rolls on offer, no hash browns, no fried/grilled tomatoes). Rooms were nice and clean, though we were on the top floor (sixth) and at night could hear the sound from the ‘net zero’ heat pumps located directly above us on the roof. The staff were very understanding and the next day moved us to another room on the same floor which wasn’t affected by the noise.

Parking isn’t available at the hotel but you get a discounted rate (currently £13 per night) at the AO Arena CitiPark nearby. Just ask the reception at checkout. I’d stay at this hotel again.

Came down for a couple nights to try and get a break from working over the holidays. Booked the hotel as a treat expecting good things given this is a nice hotel.
Staff were relatively polite. The foyer is really nice to be fair and pool/gym were pretty decent.
The room was very pretty, but the cleanliness/ functionality of the room was a bit poor given the premium nature of the hotel. The floor lamp and table lamp did not work in the room weirdly. Additionally, in the bathroom, there were: weird marks on the counter (potentially cleaning chemicals not rubbed in properly??); hairs on the back of the door and elsewhere; a half used toilet roll (found this just a bit weird) and the holder for the shower head was attached to the unit back to front so couldn't actually use the shower properly the first time (luckily my partner managed to get this into a better position so we could use the shower as intended).
It was okay for a short stay, but won't be returning as it wasn't worth the money. I have stayed in cheaper places (I.e Leonardos) in Manchester before which were much more value for money.

when we walked in, the place seemed decent for a starter but when we looked around we noticed a rip whole in the duvet which cut my foot while i was trying to sleep, which one is a safety issue and second a hazard to me and my wife who spent the night at the hotel. there was also a gap in the bed that was really uncomfortable and i managed to get a total of 20-30 minutes of sleep due to the gap between the 2 single beds, and the customer service was appalling from the receptionist, he was rude and didn’t make us feel welcome what so ever. and when we tried to do a late checkout we got refused and we had nowhere to stay while waiting for our train back to London which wasn’t yet to come for 4 hours, when asked why we couldn’t get a late checkout they had the worst reasoning possible, they said that we checked in too late, but we arrived at 6PM and check-in was between 2PM-8PM. they also said that we had to ask for later check out before breakfast which was not labeled in the guidelines. The whole experience for me and my wife was appalling and i wouldn’t recommend any of my friends and family to stay here again. for my waste of time and my injury i would like a full refund for this ridiculous stay at the Raddison Hotel.

I paid £237 for this room. I booked this hotel for me, my sister and my daughter as it’s close to the AO centre and we are here to see disney on ice. Upon booking, I was given the option to upgrade the room for an extra £37 per night, which I decided to go for… biggest regret.

With the upgrade it says you will get a superior room, bathrobes and slippers, luxury toiletries and bottled water.

We check into the room and it’s clear we haven’t been given any of the extras, the room was dirty, stains on the counter and a pubic hair on one of the towels.

I go down to reception who send house keeping to replace the towels and bring the missing robes, slippers and water (I would like to add that the staff have been lovely). The robes are as rough as sandpaper and there’s nothing “luxury” about these toiletries.

If staying here, don’t waste your money on the upgrade it’s definitely not worth it and I feel ripped off, you’d be better off in a standard room.

The mattress is ridiculously hard, I know some people prefer a firmer a mattress but honestly I’ve laid on floors that have been softer. I woke with terrible backache.

The spa/pool is a joke. The water was cold, the changing rooms were set to 18 and blowing cool air (not what you want when standing there dripping wet) the steam room is closed but we weren’t informed of this ahead of time. Also although it states no phones, people including staff and males were using them by the pool while my child is in her costume

We recently stayed at this hotel largely due to its close proximity to the Christmas market and our desire to enjoy the swimming pool and spa facilities. Given the cost of the room, I felt compelled to write a review.

We had a family room, and check-in was prompt. The room was clean and of decent size, featuring a powerful, hot shower that was a delight. The bed was comfortable, and my son was happy with the sofa bed.

Temperature controls in the room worked well, and noise levels were low, contributing to a good night’s sleep. Albeit, there were no extra pillows readily available. We only had two English teabags in the room, and as tea lovers, we had to request additional bags, which the staff provided promptly. We also found only one teaspoon available and had to retrieve another from the dining room.

Breakfast was excellent, with a lovely selection of hot and cold foods. The staff were helpful and responsive throughout our stay. Overall, we had a good experience. However, given the price, I expected a few more amenities: two teaspoons in the room, more than two teabags of English tea, spare pillows, and bathrobes, especially since guests may visit the spa.
My wife use the Sauna & she found the sauna temperature warm not hot, she enjoyed the temperature of the steam room.

Location is great and room is nice, but wasn't particularly clean and the heating didn't work in our room so it was freezing in the middle of winter. As we'd arrived back late at night we just had to put up with it, and then when showering in the morning the toiletries in the bathroom hadn't been refilled. The shop is also ridiculously priced - about £7 for a packet of biscuits!

Stayed two nights - the lack of space to put clothes for three people was frustrating. There were no drawers and the rail to hold about 5 items was nowhere near enough. Tea & coffee wasn't stocked very well in the room. Did like that it had a fridge and this turned out to be very useful.
