We were warmly welcomed, and even though we had arrived just as they were preparing to close the restaurant, they kept a table for us, and as it happens, some other latecomers. The food was freshly prepared, and worth the wait. In the morning the courtesy continued, attentive without being overbearing. Setting was good too. Highly recommended.

Upon check in it was apparent it was under new management/ownership, the changes are still in process but did not impede on my stay.
The room was delightful, spacious, clean and exactly what was described.
Staff were helpful, cheerful and a pleasure.

We were welcomed warmly at Reception and shown where our room was. We had access to a lovely sitting area with comfy couches. Our room was spacious and very clean. Had towels, toiletries and tea and coffee making facilities. Everything we needed. The price for the room was extremely good value and I would definitely return.

The hotel is well located close to river and not too far from Wroxham. The road is quite busy so it was a bit noisy during the night, especially with the windows open. Room was clean and breakfast was good.

We had a garden room and found it was very spacious and clean, large bathroom not often rooms exceed expectation but it was very good.
Staff were very friendly but we felt staff in the restaurant area needed direction (if they had just started this would explain it) guests were kept waiting to long for orders to be taken and service in general.
Food was average, breakfast mediocre, scrambled eggs and mushrooms had been overcooked.

Unfortunately we had a meal that had to be taken back which was taken off our bill. We had been out early to go on the broads for the day. When we got back to the hotel to book a table for 3 and was only to be told that the tables were fully booked. Looking at the tables outside and inside that was not the case, we had to resolve to getting a Chinese takeaway delivered to the hotel, where we had to eat it outside on a tree log as the hotel refused to allow us to eat out on the patio of the hotel. There was no resolution to this, we will not be returning to this hotel again. Words of advice book your table for the duration of your stay!!

Staff plus hotel great , please note if get to stop in cottages area , heating can be an issue , as I was told they will only put heating on for an hour , it was a cold night , gave me portable heater which if I left on at night the whole room would glow red , hence had to switch it off to ensure I could sleep without the room being bright . Otherwise great hotel .

There were no hand towels in the room. One toiler roll. The bin in the bathroom had not been emptied from previous guest. Towel rail did not work. They run out of white bread in the morning and only one kipper left for breakfast. Totally understaffed. Such a shame not a patch on the previous owners.

First time visiting here and will be the last the staff need some customer skills as clearly non of the staff know what they are doing the manager was very grumpy and rude, the food was terrible the breakfast in the morning took over an hour to arrive and we were the first in there and when it turned up I thought I had ordered for an infant nothing hardly on there, the food in the evening again took over an hour to arrive and wish we never ordered from here the chicken curry my wife ordered was well over cooked looked like been put in a microwave far to long the chips were over cooked the garlic bread was like anemic looks like put under a toaster for a couple of seconds, had to ask for sauces which took over 5 minutes to come when dinner was almost cold never again would I stay or eat here again should of read all reviews before I booked

Everything was good re the property except the restaurant with non availability. Kippers not available both days, veg pie first day and just served the last gammon and a waiter who couldn’t bring things like vinegar and brown sauce, all in all however a good stay and would return again. I found the check-in confusing: At the entrance an arrow and sign pointed to another entrance, but when navigating through the building to the front desk, back at the same place.. Welcome home!? Warm welcome on arrival, although it says hotel entrance on one side of the building, but by the time you’ve walked all the way through, you’re back in the bar!
Only one towel in the room but this was quickly sorted once reported. The room was clean, with plenty of hot water, tea & coffee. The only issues we had in the room (no9) was we couldn’t turn the radiator off, so had to have the windows open and then had a lot of road nose, and someone had jammed the shower on maximum heat. Both were reported to maintenance.
We had a great evening in the restaurant, but didn’t have breakfast.

I enjoyed staying at this hotel as it was nicely presented and the facilities had everything i needed. Location was good for my business appointments.
The Gentleman(Italian i think) who worked afternoons/evenings was a true old school professional. Courteous, humorous and a great host.
Sadly the only thing a little lacking was breakfast service and overall quality of cooked food. Breakfast sausage overcooked and general items unseasoned. Hunters chicken dry and overcooked. However the burger was very good.

Got to the hotel and and asked if we could have food, the guy who checked us in , said I’ll show you to your room and then I’ll find out , he never came back to us, so ended up having a bag of crisps

The other staff was very polite and very helpful

Went to bed and the room was nice , but after falling a sleep I woke up around 3am feeling very cold as the heating had been turned off

Breakfast wasn’t very nice , bacon was very fatty and the sausage didn’t taste that great, mushrooms was very bland

On booking i made the mistake, i though the courtyard room was the new outside block, however it was not and the room i had was compact, with a poor shower facility.
Small cunbicle, with a step in and the shower head was clogged and not very good, even though i twisted the handle to different shower heads.
The staff were amazing, i was able to do my work in peace, with very good attention to my needs.
The foods as usual was extremelt tasty and compliments to to the chef.

Disaster turned to pleasure by one man!

Initially on arrival there was a board stating food options were limited due to an internal problem. We were disappointed because we were there for a special birthday. We went inside to register and saw another sign saying the wi-fi was down. Being very disappointed as we were expecting an email from abroad regarding this birthday and we were undecided whether to stay or not. Nick, who we presumed to be the duty manager, was very apologetic and explained the problems in more detail. He convinced us to stay and offered us an upgraded room and bought our first round of drinks for us. The afternoon and evening went very well and the food we had was excellent. The upgraded room was large and airy and we were able to park literally outside the room (cabin). Being partially disabled this was a great bonus. Thanks to Nick's professionalism he certainly turned a possible disaster into a pleasurable experience and we thank him. We've stayed at the Wayford before but this experience surpassed that by miles.

There is a small table in the reception area with a bell to call for service, which we did. After several minutes a young lady came running into the area and told us to follow her, to check in.

We were lead to the main bar area, however there was no record of our booking, which was a concern to say the least. I was asked what type of room we’d booked, when we booked it. I showed my confirmation number, eventually we were given a room. After conferring with a senior member of staff,It transpired that there had been a change in ownership in April time, so my booking was on ‘the old system’. The issue was resolved quickly, which was good, but still caused some angst.

We were told there were issues with the WiFi… the signal and reception were non existent.

The room was clean, but basic. The bathroom door stuck and would not shut. There was no hairdryer. I did manage to get a hairdryer in the end. I reported the door, it did not really bother us that much, but if it was pushed shut, it was impossibly to open.

The food in the restaurant was ok. I had fish and chips, the fish had been put on top of the chips, making then soggy.

The most disappointing thing was getting back to the hotel bar at about 22:40, after the wedding we had been to, seeing 3 people sitting there with virtually full pints, and being refused service. Even as residents.

Overall it’s an ok place, the outside area is a bit scruffy. Seem to be quite short of staff.

The location of this hotel is excellent. The staff are helpful and friendly. We did find that the evening meal was VERY expensive. The room was pleasant and quiet. Plenty of car parking. The main issue was the bathroom, which really lets the room down. The shower head had no bracket to sit in (although the staff had ordered the part and it did arrive 2 days after we arrived). The sink had a glass shelf immediately above it, which is not a good place to position a shelf for teeth cleaning etc. The shower cubicle had a door which opened outward into the bathroom, just where guests enter the room. The toilet handle was positioned close to the wall, making it difficult to flush.
Generally, the design of the bathroom just hadn't been well thought out. Maybe hotel management should sleep in their rooms, to test them out, before inviting guests to stay.
