Needs bedside tables. Hooks on back bathroom door. The tv ariel was dodgy making terrible cracking noises. Managed to get a picture eventually. Def stay again due to price and location 👍

It's a great location. Rooms are small and cramped. My main complaint is that they are listed as having parking. Closer inspection reveals off site parking. Then 2 days before arrival you get the details - on the road parking overnight only or a multi storey in the city centre with which they have no affiliation and would have cost me £100 for the duration of my conference. This forced me to book a last minute train. I messaged and got no response.

There is no elevator in the property. You need to carry your heavy luggages and climb very narrow stairs to the higher floors. If you don’t want to break your back, I would not recommend staying here. This property ran as Airbnb, instead hotel, they won’t give you changing towels after 3 days, and you need to text or call for any issues.

Great place to stay in Cambridge

The check-in process was really straightforward, with details sent by email.
The guest house is near a 24-hour car park and, while that's not cheap, it is secure so worth using.
It's on the edge of a park, and close enough to the city centre to walk in.
It's very close to a number of bars and restaurants so it can get loud at the weekend but we were high enough up to avoid the worst of it.

Very nice overall. The property is clean, tidy, nicely designed and in a good location.

One thing to bear in mind is the building is quite tall and narrow, with fairly steep stairs, which my elderly parents had a bit of trouble with. From what I recall, there wasn't an indication when booking of which floor we would be on. I think this would be helpful. We might have picked a different room.

It is quite good value for its location on the edge of a lovely peaceful parkland, but no parking facilities if you have a car.
Great location for easy and close walking to all major sights, but checking in was a bit muddled because Expedia didn’t forward through all the messages for door codes, buildings and which room we had been assigned. I had to msg the offsite manager for instructions. Wifi had also dropped out for nearly 3 hrs so took the manager time to come in and reboot the router then it messed up the pay by card, so had to go to a cash machine to get money to pay for our extra night. When I asked for a toaster to prepare breakfast the machine I was given was faulty and filled the breakfast room with smoke in less than a minute, setting off the fire alarm and causing chaos for the day manager who had just arrived, not to mention the embarrassment for me.
Staff were lovely, accommodating and apologetic but it was not a very smooth start to the day.
Luckily we had a ground floor room and didn’t have to lug our suitcases up any of the steep and narrow staircases.
Just a reminder to travelers that many English guest houses are converted Georgian or Regency houses that are really charming but have no elevator and many rooms are very small…not like a Hilton or Western motel.

An excellent basic hotel in typical British tradition. Small comfortable rooms with well-designed, well-equipped shared bathrooms. Nice modern shower arrangements kept immaculately clean. Regency Guest House now operates without reception: room keys are ready to grab as you enter. My single room was warm, tastefully furnished, and cozy with a big beautiful tree out the window and a park beyond. The walls are thin, and there's a pub next door that may be busy and loud (including in the wee hours when a night's bottles get recycled). Ear-cancelling headphones or earplugs recommended. But other than that, the location is extremely convenient, halfway between the train station and central Cambridge, and the hotel was a delight.

Self check in, good room, bar next door plays loud music between 8-12pm Thurs to Sat, I stayed on a Thursday and it it closed about 10pm due to lack of trade.
If your there in a room at the back of the property then expect loud until midnight Fri and Sat.

The property was well situated and prior information was good. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The room was rather small, the overall appearance was dark and the carpet and furniture looked \"tired\", not really reflecting the published photos. A cuff-link fell under the bed and I don't think that this area had been cleaned recently.
This could be an excellent \"boutique\" hotel/guest house but would only warrant five stars after tasteful refurbishment.

Good location and good facilities

The apartment (room 14) was compact with a bedroom, kitchen/diner and shower room. It was situated with pleasant views of Parker's Piece and equipped with everything we needed for a short stay, although my eldest found the futon a little hard. There was a problem with the hot water during our stay but this was promptly resolved when we brought it to their attention. The apartment is a short walk to the centre of Cambridge and we had a very enjoyable stay.

Not a huge room but clean - we had Room 1 which was right by the front door which wasn't as noisy as I expected but the property is right next to a pub (again not noisy or not noisy mid week) but we had binmen both mornings. I'm only knocking points off the 'staff and service' section there aren't any (although someone did happen to be there when we turned up which made 'checking in' easier). Views over the green of Parker's Piece is lovely though

What a little Jem of a place!

What a little Jem of place just a couple of minutes walk from our son’s flat! We wish we’d known about it before we previously paid twice the price to stay in the nearly Hotel! Our one bed apartment was warm and comfortable, a reasonable size, The full kitchen was a real bonus although only used for the morning coffee it was good to know if we decide to stay for a longer period in the future. The one and only issue of our stay was the shower door came off the runner when opening to get out after my shower as the gap to get in and out wasn’t very big. Fine for us but a larger person may struggle. Luckily I have a handy husband who fixed the shower door easily so it didn’t spoil our stay. I would wholeheartedly recommend the Regency Guesthouse and will definitely be back! 🙂

We expected a reception and got a locked door - the access code had not been emailed to us. The hotel website says off-site parking - it is misleading as they offer NO parking whatsoever. The family room was up in the eaves with limited floor height and the futon was very uncomfortable - it was like sleeping in a walk-in cupboard. It was clean, kitchen was well equipped but bathroom facilities were just too small and cramped to use to any great extent. Room was nothing like the pictures on the website, which are misleading. Location in Cambridge is good but accommodation and parking was deeply disappointing.

Easy walk from the station and close to first Cambridge College we were visiting.
Very easy to find. Very smooth check-in/check-out. Very clean. Close to Zizzi/Pizza Express/Starbucks. Queen bed was a tad small for two adults, but all exactly as advertised and expected and perfect for one night for two people (ensuite room).

Simple and would be worth a lower price

The place is simple and likely good for longer stays when a kitchen is preferred. The kitchen is well stocked for light cooking. The street was very loud with late night revelers. Our main concern is that it is very tight quarters for three people— perhaps for a child under age 10 it is fine. A bit dark in the main bedroom and sort of quirky old building things— fear of blowing a fuse and the odd motor on the toilet etc. but well located overall. If the price were very reasonable it would be a “simple and gets the job done” review but with all the fees this added up to an overpriced stay for the quality.

Dont waste your money

Was very very disappointed in this accommodation. Billed as 3 stars, I would give it one. Actual room is nothing at all like the photo provided. Very small room, shared bathroom, no staff onsite and check in was difficult. Room was directly abover the busiest pub in Cambright which was raging well into the night. Parking was a fair walk away and 17 pounds per night.

Noisy, hard & no parking

Our room was on the top floor
Room 16 is not meant for people over 5ft tall as the ceiling angles are so low that I bumped my head a dozen times
The futon mattress was old & hard & it’s cover dirty & tatty
The building was noisy from the pub next door & drunk residents in the building
On booking the accommodation I looked for parking
It’s says parking available but once you book & pay which is non refundable it tells you there’s actually no parking, well after 6/30pm until 8/30am
So I had to park at the multi-storey across the road, another £20 per day
Would I recommend this to my friends and family?
NOT A CHANCE IN HELL !!

Convenient location for visiting the museums and University. Very comfortable bedding and nice new fitttings.
However, the park area opposite can be noisy late at night. I had a basement flat which i would in hindsight not of booked as no natural light and a fire escape door to basement steps (simple Yale mortice lock which aas not very secure) is the only way to ventilate room. The interior room door to Number 11 has been forced previously and has been repaired with screws....does not unspire confidence when opening door for first time.

The outside of the property a little run down - two houses together - getting in with the pass code took some time with no response to the phone calls we made.
The property is in a great location over looking a large green you walk 10 minutes and you are in College Cambridge - inside the property the staircase was clean - room 14 very well equipped - full kitchen bathroom OK bedroom good - nice clean central - TV no good

The manager was very kind and helpful when someone took over our booked room by accident, and gave us an upgrade to another suite which was very clean and spacious.

This is the hotel I stayed at when I was doing an undergrad interview in 2012, and still gave me great memories as an adult. Would definitely come back again!

When we arrived there was someone else in our room. We asked for it to be cleaned and were told that it would take 2.5 hours even for someone to arrive to start the cleaning. The delay was caused by the staff member on duty not being immediately available and having to source child care before being able to attend in person.
The problem with the room occurred because it is an unmanned hotel and did not follow its policy of sending the room number to guests in advance as is stated clearly on the automated invoice.
The hotel also claims to have parking which it does not.
In the end we accepted a refund and went somewhere else which because it was late afternoon in half term in Cambridge and rooms were hard to find means we are now £100 out of pocket.

After that, it's all downhill - or rather uphill as I had to climb 4 flights of stairs.
I had a room with a shared bathroom. The room was very small, cold and has poor lighting. Good luck trying to put on makeup in the evening.
Very small shower stalls in the bathrooms and poor lighting.
No paper towels if you wash your hands and no hand dryer either.
They do not replace towels even if you throw them on the floor of your room.

Really good experience!

Really good stay. The room was cozy with a nice decor together with a very confortable mattress. The staff was very nice and the breakfast had a bit of everything and with good quality. The bathroom was clean and with the basics same as a hotel. Also kitchen with all amenities including dishwasher, washing machine, iron, etc...
Overall very good experience, 100% recommended!
