We had a ground room with no kitchen or balcony. It was a bit noisy with people outside an stomping on the floor above. Bed was comfortable. 👍
Ps it would have been nice to have hot chocolate as an option for a hot drink but there was only tea and instant coffee.

Great location close to main street full of restaurants cafes etc. Room was very clean and spacious, super comfy bed. Given the size of the hotel, the rooms were also soundproofed so very quiet. Check in was quick with convenient pre checkin registration. The only downside was the WiFi unstable but that won't stop us from staying here again. It's fab

Avoid if you want sleep.
The noise at North Pier Hotel is unbearable. Loud music, pub noise and people well into the night, plus early morning disturbances.
The room shared a wall with the pub and had virtually no soundproofing, making sleep impossible.
Location is good, but it’s completely overshadowed by the constant noise.
Would not stay again.

View was great. Beds were fine. But the cleanliness of the room was questionable to say the least. No one has cleaned under the bed in at least a year. There was a dead fly on the floor when we came in and all the decorative cushions were stained. Not small stains either. I doubt the floor got anything more than a quick sweep between guests. No one came to clean the room while we were there either.

Location is great though, but they really need to get on top of cleaning or that place won't last

We were advised by email after we booked that there would be resurfacing works to the car park so parking would be on street parking only. Upon arrival, the street was so full, we had to carry our luggage a fair distance.
The following morning at 7am, myself and my young daughter were woken by excessive vibration and the sounds of chains dragging through the brick wall. Our hearts were pounding, and my daughter was petrified.
The noise continued consistantly throughout the morning to the point we could not hear eachother speak without shouting.
The asphalt workers congregated outside our room window with their machinery running while they bantered amongst eachother. It was so bad i was forced to confront the group of workman to keep the noise down.
Upon checkout, I conveyed our experience and was offered a forced and scripted apology with the added comment that the work had to happen and my experience would be passed onto the manager.
A terrible way to remember our first famiky vaccination in over 4 years

We had a good stay, location and parking was great. The room was clean but probably needs a refresh/repaint modernising the room for the price paid to stay.

Access to the rooms was more difficult without an elevator and only steps. The tv needs upgrading as it was not streaming capable. Lastly the suppled tea cups need replacing with something that actually lets you drink more then one sip! Overall happy but some constructive feedback!

The room was very basic and quite outdated. The TV was small, wall-mounted, and not a smart TV, which made entertainment options limited. Unfortunately, staff from the pub next door often gathered outside our door for their smoke breaks, which wasn’t ideal.

On a positive note, the shower had great water pressure, though it was over a bath with a shower curtain — not my preference. Overall, the place is in desperate need of a revamp to bring it up to modern standards.

The property inside was clean and tidy. It was a little bit on the older side and the carpets were a little bit unkempt. The old spiders webs on the outside of the building were an indication of its age. But it was a central and convenient place to stay after watching the penguins.

My sister and I stayed one night in a twin bed room. We ordered a balcony room overlooking the bay, it was lovely to sit out with a relaxing drink. Although we were on the 2nd floor and no lift only stairs, so dragging luggage up was a challenge as was getting it down the stairs. Rooms were spacious and beds comfortable bathroom was huge and we could both fit in front of the mirror with loads of space, would recommend staying here again

The bay room views are wonderful. The rooms were spacious, although the bathrooms are curious with an added changing area without seating or a place to hang clothes/robes. The walls are thin, however, and noise carried between rooms easily.

It was a budget room 404 with a shower over a bath. You had to step over the bath to shower without a rail to hang onto. Then you showered on a rather slippery floor. Lastly, getting out means lifting one leg high to step over the side. All your weight is on the other foot, with nothing to hang onto and there is only a slippery wet surface supporting all your weight.

It was ok nice hotel with a stunning sea view. Location was good easy parking within the hotel area.

The hotel got no lift, if you have big luggages and being arrange to stay in the upper floor congrats you just won yourself some free basic shaolin kung fu training.

Pray hard you got no rude hotets room neighbors, the soundproof was bad and we have 2 nights with some rude user next to our room keep banging their doors every 10 or 15mins when they are in the room.

** please take note that the hotel to Penguin Parade is between 15 to 20 mins drive.

However, beside the above we enjoyed our stay there and if we are going back again we will consider staying there again..

Location on foreshore was ideal for exploring local area. The room was a described and the bed really comfortable also. The shower pressure and warmth was fantastic also.

The only downside was there a full on dance party/event going on in close proxity to our room that weekend. It was intense up to 12:30 with little soundproofing. We didn't complain and these things happen, not doubt it affected many others staying there too. However the room and facilities where as described, and once it quieted down we had a great rest

We were in the bay view room, low level. The room was filled with sand. All night we could hear people running around in the upstairs rooms, or coming up and down the metal steps which was just next to our room. There was yelling and fights going on outside from 12-530am. The room itself has minimal facilities, no table to eat off, nor any chairs or couch to sit on. Our family of 4 had to all sit on the bed to watch tv. Disappointing.

The room was advertised with a spa, i specifically booked it for this reason.
There was no spa. Staff did nothong except make excuses. I called Wotif tjey tried but the staff had already changed the ad so it looked like i was wrong to Wotif, stadf were rude, condescending unhelpful and arrogant DO NOT RECOMMEND WILL DEFINITELY NOT RETURN!!
Only stayed as it was to late to find anytime else.

The Internet and TV access was awful, you couldn't watch half the channels, and the internet cut out constantly. Not great when you're sitting in a room at night with your child. I expect it would be noisy in peak summer periods.

Very loud from the bar/bistro downstairs- very difficult with toddler/baby to get them to sleep (not hotels fault) just something we didn’t consider. Average cleanliness- dirty/stained carpet , skirting boards & lights inside in need of deep clean. Very minimal parking outside room therefore had to park on street- although we booked during peak period. Otherwise hotel located in a great area with stunning bay views.

“Unexpected guest in the walls…”

Stayed here for 3 nights and the room itself was fine — pretty average in terms of cleanliness and amenities, nothing fancy but did the job. Unfortunately, the experience took a turn when a possum somehow made its way into the room. Yes, you read that right — an actual possum.

Staff were quick to respond and managed to block its entry, but there wasn’t anyone on the property to chat to. I appreciated the attempt. But the drama didn’t end there. All night long, the possum (or possibly its noisy relatives) scratched and thumped around in the walls. It was like trying to sleep next to a wildlife documentary.

Would’ve been a decent stay if not for the uninvited nocturnal guest and the chorus of wall scratching that followed. Great if you’re into rustic charm and surprise animal encounters — otherwise, bring earplugs.

Close to local restaurants and cowes beach. Reception staff extremely friendly and helpful as were the bistro staff. We had a 3 night stay and bed not made next day and no tea and coffee re supplied. Yesterday staff neglected to leave any toilet paper but bistro helped us out as we only realised this at 6:20pm. Meals is bistro a very large serving We upgrade to a different room which had two queen beds although we only needed one. Bed fairly hard and uncomfortable and bathroom cleaning could do with a bit of extra work especially shower curtain rail Couldn’t fault the female receptionist on our arrival

Loved the kids area above the restaurant, 2 inflatable bouncy obstacle courses and the movie theatre. Would have been good with a small area for smaller children/toddlers like foam building blocks etc. There was an empty area for something like that.
Great walking distance from the main st of Cowes and the beach.

We really enjoyed our stay - We had read a range of mixed reviews but we need not have worried !
We stayed in a Queen Bay View Room and were pleasantly surprised. The rooms were clean and tidy, very comfortable beds and plenty of room to move around with 2 adults and a teenager ! The views were amazing day and night from the 3rd floor!

It was well located to walk across to the beach, jetty or down the Main Street for eateries. The hotel has a range of delicious meals as well.

All staff from reception to house keeping were friendly and welcoming. Check in was easy and a pleasant surprise to receive a text message to say our room was ready before check in time.

Things to note
* there is no lift - if you want the views be prepared to walk up stairs (not a massive amount but handy to know)
* off street parking is limited especially if you don’t get back until late afternoon and in the evening - but we had no trouble finding off street parking but could be challenging in peak times
* shower water pressure was AMAZING- but the drain couldn’t keep up and our shower base over flowed every night and it was VERY slippery on the tiles.

Overall we were very happy with our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to return, and we were already talking around returning in September.
