Location is great but not enough amenities inside the room. TV is facing a small table but there’s nowhere to sit to watch. Unable to reposition the TV so you can just lie on the bed since there’s no chair to sit on. And towels are paper thin like towels. How are we helping the environment by using these kinds of paper thin towels. These towels costs 200 HK. They don’t dry the person well after showers. Garbage can in the washrooms are extremely small. Otherwise I would say just ok but definitely needs improvement.

On the positive side room was clean, was functioning bathroom in a good location for public transit and local shopping. Comfort is a personal judgement. If you're young enough to be or recently remember backpacking and hostels, this may meet your needs. I found the hotel and service utilitarian and joyless. The paper rather than cloth towels in the room were a nuisance but that only proving two for a 3 night I found tacky. (Pehaps intent was if I hang first night paper towel up I will dry by 3rd day). Additional paper towels along with soap (none in room) and other tolietries are available for purchase. I thought I was looking for basic accomodation but this is more basic than I want. It may work for your needs and budget. If you're over 30 or your notion of basic hotel is Holiday Inn Express, Hampton Inn Spark by Hilton, this may not be best choice for you.

Mini Hotel is in a fantastic location & we liked the style of the common areas with their art & interesting local finds. however our room (a double bunk room) was tiny & quite unpleasant to be in. As you can’t eat in the common areas, if we wanted to eat in, our only option was to sit in a cramped way on our beds.
The towels are flimsy & disposable and you have to re-use them for 3 days before they are replaced. Having a real towel would be a simple & huge difference!
We sort of just grinned & beared it, but wouldn’t choose this option again, despite the good location.

I requested for a quiet room as I will arrive late evening after long flight. The receptionist Ahdee, not sure spelling, very friendly kept a quiet room for me. When I checked out left my luggage there for few hours and it was free. Very good location friendly staff the only thing is room size very small cannot fit desk and no chairs. However we know that from their description. Anyways good for one person short stay like me.

I have stayed here before. Yes, rooms are small but it is cheap, clean and very conveniently located in the heart of Causeway Bay. You have shopping, dining and the MTR on your doorstep. Safe. Staff are pleasant and friendly. WIFI worked well. Hot shower and air conditioning. Hong Kong is not cheap. There is a lot to do. I was hardly at the hotel. All I wanted was a convenient, clean and safe centrally located hotel with friendly staff. I could come back each night, shower, sleep and get up the next morning and go out again. The small negative are the disposable towels which were not great. Other than that, I would recommend.

Yes, as the name suggests it is mini. Rooms are tiny. Having said this, Hong Kong is not cheap. I come often. This hotel is very conveniently located right near Causeway Bay MTR. You have shopping, restaurants and convenience stores all around. Good central location to get around Hong Kong Island and Kowloon. Very clean, basic but does the job. You have air conditioning, hot water, a window, WIFI, a comfortable bed and friendly staff. Staff are helpful. To note, you enter and exit the hotel on the ground floor. Reception is located on floor B1. Safe as a solo female traveller. There is no restaurant on the premises or dining options. Rooms are cleaned daily but if you are staying for a long period, then you need to tell them if you want bed linen changed during your stay. My main negative are the towels! They give disposable towels (2 sets) which are replenished every three days. I didn't like them as it didn't really dry you properly. Other than that, I would recommend. They don't provide any complimentary toiletries. There was a hairdryer and kettle in the room. To be honest, your likely to be out all the time. There is so much to do in Hong Kong. I literally came back to sleep and shower or freshen up during the day. I was out most of the time. I am back in Hong Kong next month in December and likely to book this again.

The worst thing about this hotel is the noise. I could hear the next door talking or watching tv CLEARLY and felt as if I'm staying with 10 people in the room although I was solo.

They give you thick paper towel as a bath towel. Bring your own towel if you're brave enough to stay here.

The quadruple room for 4 people was extremely small where only 2 people could stand up at any one time. It was a problem to store all our suitcases. The upper bunk bed was directly underneath the exposed ventilation pipes and the air con system which made it an uncomfortable experience. The bottom bunk was fine. Short city stays would be okay. You should bring your own towels as the ones the hotel supply are like paper napkins. Despite all of this, the room was very clean. The bathroom is large in comparison and the power shower was good.

Cheap & nasty - do not stay.

The name of the hotel says it all - mini hotel.
The room is super small.
No amenities provided, not even a soap bar!
No towels, only provided paper bath towels. I asked for a new set the next day, they said it must last me for 3 days stay!! cheap & nasty!! So glad I only stayed there for 2 nights.

Beware, when go to the toilet you can’t even close the bathroom door! The walls are super thin, can hear everything.

Great stay for shoppers and solo travelers. I’m a solo female traveler and always felt safe and the room had everything I needed. The bathroom is glass for those of you traveling with friends, important to note.

The floors needed an upgrade but it’s probably due to the incredible humidity the country had been experiencing. It didn’t bother me but might change your opinion if you’re looking for something updated. The lounge is great and luggage service is also provided if you’re still exploring after checkout.

Fantastic location in Causeway Bay, I’d absolutely stay here again as it was very affordable for the location

I would not recommend this to my enemies.

Hotel walls are paper thin. I mean THIN. You can hear talking, snoring or any other loud activities. The bed is extremely hard and stiff. I prefer firmer beds but this was crazy hard. They dont provide towels but instead what I consider a giant disposable napkin. They charged me $40 USD for an accidental small coffee stain i did. Im not sure why it needs to be sent out to a \"special cleaners.\"

Everything was tiny. Booked a room for 3 adults and 1 child and we got a bunk bed. No issue with the bed but the room itself was really tiny. Our suitcases barely fit in there. No room to pack and unpack. No real bath towels but they provide paper bath towels which sucked. But the location is perfect for shopping and close to the mtr.

Hong Kong is expensive. The mini hotel however is reasonably priced and the square footage, as the name suggest, is small. The first room was fill with mold (the ventilation in 1206 is not it) and they tried to cover some of it with peel and stick \"flooring\". I spent my first two nights and then asked to be move to another room. The reminder of my time was pleasant.

The area is great that this hotel is in. Super walkable with shopping right outside the door (even a Bentley store out front) and transportation a short walk.

Overall I enjoyed my stay.

After I posted my previous review about the hotel recently stopped providing cotton bath towels and replaced them with environmentally unfriendly, less absorbent and less comfortable disposable paper-like bath towels and refusing to replace it on a daily basis, the hotel staff contacted me and said they saw my review but there was nothing they could do. They will keep the policy though they know the disposable towels cannot be reused and have many problems. It is reasonable to expect daily replacement of disposable towels and basic hygiene standards. There should be no excuse for not being able to provide this level of service. It should only have minimal impact on the hotel’s profitability if it is a properly run business. It is also gross and rude to follow up with your guests saying we understand but we don’t care nor listen. Overall it is very disappointing and I hope they could realize how poor decision it was and rectify it as soon as possible.

Mixed Experience: Not Ideal

I recently stayed at this hotel in Hong Kong with my wife, and while the location is decent, I feel compelled to share some aspects that might impact the experience for fellow travelers, especially those visiting for a short time.

The hotel's proximity to the metro station is convenient, but for first-time tourists like myself, it became apparent that the central tourist attractions were at least a 30-minute train ride away. Despite choosing this place for its affordability and seemingly decent online reviews, there are several reasons I hesitate to recommend it.

Firstly, the rooms are incredibly small, which is tolerable, but their neglected state and apparent lack of cleanliness were concerning.

Upon arrival, we discovered that the hotel provided bath towels, but they were closer in size to hand towels. When we inquired at the reception for larger towels, we were informed that those were the standard size, and if we wanted larger ones, we'd have to purchase them from a vending machine within the hotel. This was unexpected and inconvenient.

Furthermore, the absence of basic amenities was surprising. There wasn't even hand soap in the room, which is a minimal expectation even in more modest accommodations.

The hotel now only provides thin disposable bath towels made of paper-like less absorbent material instead of cotton. It’s very uncomfortable, ineffective, and environmentally unfriendly. What’s worse, though they admit it’s not reusable, they only replace two bath towels every three days. In other words, they don’t think you need to shower every day. It doesn’t seem a good idea even in winter in Hong Kong. I requested it to be changed but had to call three times and wait for over 25 minutes before they replace it for me. Since I used to stay at the property frequently I made a complaint to the staff. Unfortunately he said it was their policy so I don’t like it I can stay somewhere else I prefer in the future.

Location is great for shopping around. Property needs maintenance and cleaning. Room was not clean. Toilet bowl bottom is brown tinted that I never seen in hotels before and finger prints were all over…. Floor has straunge holes. Wall are cracking. Etc. Not sure if it was even cleaned. No tooth blush. No tissue. No bath towels provided. Only small face towels. No hand soaps. So at the need you had to go outside and buy them all. So better pay little more money and stay other hotels around.
Acoustic are bad and you can hear next door conversations. Water splash from upstairs can be heard. Also elevator noise can be heard. Will not stay again.

Location is about all this hotel has going for it to be honest. The front desk staff didn’t seem interested at all to address any concerns we had, the maids and housekeepers were lovely! So they get all our praise! The building is very dingy and really needs a lick of paint! The bedroom, where do i start, Mini is an understatement when it comes to the room and bathroom 😅 wish there was some kind of foldable table that we could use as there was only 1 really small table to put stuff on so we had to resort to using the side of the bed! One thing I was astounded with was the fact the hotel doesn’t have bath towels!! How crazy! They only provide disposable bath towels

If you're just looking for a bed to sleep in, it does the job. No amenities or water, so bring your own. There is a vending machine in lobby for essentials like toothbrush. For some reason during my stay, the G/F door was not accessible by elevator. You can only exit and enter via staircase to get to basement for the elevator to your room. For those who are low maintenance and simply need a bed, this is good for its value. Super convenient location close enough to minibus, MTR, tram.
