The hotel was very conveniently placed in the city the rooms were clean and big enough. But the number one stand out was the staff. The two ladies on reception were unbelievably kind, helpful and courteous.

Very good hotel, I would have said excellent if the breakfast were a little better. In general, I had a very positive experience and would definitely stay here again. Not close to the train station but super convenient if one wants to walk around the center of the city or go down the port area.

This hotel is in a fantastic location for walking around the historic old town of Genoa! The Piazza di Ferrari is amazing with beautiful buildings and great restaurants. The hotel was quiet, the staff was very friendly and helpful and the room was spacious!

Overall a great location in old Genoa with almost everything in walking distance or close to public transportation. The hotel is a little on the older side with some minor housekeeping issues and room condition. The room was fine but it could have used more closet space. The bathroom itself was very small and not enough counterspace. The staff overall were very welcoming and polite at all times.

We absolutely loved our stay and were immensely grateful the lovely and very professional staff both accommodated and put up with us. Our room was beautiful. We had a fabulous view of the plaza below and stunning surroundings. The breakfast was fresh, healthy and delicious. The staff helped us many times as these were our first days ever in Italy. Highly recommend!

Check in was quick, didn’t enjoy the fact that my key was constantly having to be handed in when leaving the property it felt a bit invasive in terms of being watched on my whereabouts.
Rooms are not sound proof. It was my birthday and most hotels give bottle of wine or something nice in room I had informed before but I didn’t get anything. I did remind them so they gave a glass of wine after I mentioned it.
Good location and breakfast was simple and sufficient. I requested a later checkout and it was agreed for 1pm however the next day by 1145 I was receiving phone calls to vacate the room sadly the handover hadn’t been done between night and morning staff.
Minibar rates were quite decent nothing to crazy compared to other hotels.

Need a few tweaks to be ironed out especially regarding room keys, I enjoy just walking in and out of hotels in privacy.

This quaint property was in a good location and served a nice breakfast, nothing fancy. We enjoyed the use of the breakfast room in the afternoons for reading and a coffee. Staff very polite.
The room was noisy and the lights from the street came in through the bathroom window. Nevertheless, we were able to sleep.

The staff at the hotel were very helpful and knowledable. The bathrooms had been recently renovated so they were nice and clean. Only drawback was the flight of stairs you have to climb with your suitcase just to get into the hotel lobby. Also it was hard to find dinning nearby as most places were closed when we were there.

A great location for our last 2 nights in Italy.

The staff were helpful and friendly, even going as far as to pop a postcard in the postbox on their way home after finishing work.

The hairdryer in the room scores 10/10 for no need to keep a thumb on the power switch, a decent nozzle and a cold blow setting.

Free coffee, cake and pastries in the afternoon until the evening - a fabulous added extra bonus.

Breakfast worked very well for us including yoghurt, fruit and meats plus cheese.

The light in the walk-in wardrobe didn't appear to work in our room, but that was the only niggle.

A good sized room and we liked the view over the narrow alleyway from our window.

A bathroom window which opened too, perfect!

Highly recommended and would definitely return if we come back to Genova in the future.

My stay at Best Western Metropoli was very enjoyable! The location of this hotel is perfect in many ways. Close to Palazzo Ferrari and all the sites in Genoa. Plus, very conveniently located to transportation, dining and shopping. The staff ware very friendly, kind and accommodating! This was a great place to stay with young kids and explore the city from. Not too far from the main station via the underground train. On the edge of the old city.

Staff were great particularly with the children. A room with bunk beds was perfect for us.

Air conditioning was very welcome in the hot climate.

Brilliant location - close to everything and easy to reach with the airport bus (Volabus). Plenty of good restaurants, bars etc in easy walking distance.

Superior room was large, clean, quiet and comfortable. Air con battled a bit on the super hot days (35 degrees). But this is normal in Italy.

Wifi worked well.

Breakfast was very good.

All staff were kind and incredibly helpful - proactive (not just responsive) to our needs.

From the start we were welcomed by an incredibly friendly and helpful team of girls at the front desk.
The genuine nature of the receptionists continued throughout our short stay, which made it more enjoyable.
The rooms were clean and comfortable for our family of four.
We will definitely return the next time in Genoa.

We had a rental car so parking was very important to us. We first went to the hotel, uploaded our luggage and then drove through the crazy streets of Genoa to find the parking garage. The location of the garage is just a few blocks away, but due to one-way streets it felt as if it was further. Nice, comfortable room. The staff was wonderful --they told us about an elevator (free) that we could take us to the top of a hill with great city views - it was lovely to see the sunset from there, THANK YOU.

This hotel is top notch. The service, cleanliness and proximity to metro, train, buses, shopping and restaurants are so convenient. The room is very clean and bed comfy. the washroom is super clean. The breakfast is well worth the 8 euros.
But what stands out the most are the staff at the reception. So professional, helpful and polite. Nicole loves her job and is always happy to see you. They go beyond their call of duty to accomodate you. It feels very safe and secure to stay at this hotel and especially welcoming. I give it a hands up ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My ”twin” (single) room was probably the smallest room I’ve ever had in a hotel. There was just enough space to move around, but not really for anything else. The bathroom was great, but shower required some gymnastics to get out without flooding the floor. Despite being advertised and mentioned in the room description, there was no coffee facility.
But the internet was lightning fast, the hot water was really hot and with good water pressure, the breakfast was amazing and the staff couldn’t be more helpful. The location is hard to beat too. If you don’t mind small rooms, this hotel is warmly recommended.

If we to return to Genoa, this is where we'll stay

Our room was decently-sized with a comfortable bed and a good bathroom. Breakfast for 5 euros was a real bargain - fresh scrambled eggs and delicious pastries (among other things). The staff was terrific helping us deal with our panic when we found that our pre-flight Covid tests had to be redone at the last minute when the rules were changed. The location is good -- near shopping and restaurants with buses stopping in the piazza out front.

Location very good, bed super and the best reception we had during our trip in Italy. However there is a stairs to enter the hotel, not handy with a buggy and the rooms are very dark. The breakfast was 30 minutes because of corona and 10 minutes before you had to leave, they already reminded you about it.

Great location, staff were very friendly. Irene, who welcomed us, was very lively and very welcoming plus gave us all the info we needed to get around. The down side is there is only one lift which serves as both a service lift and a guest lift plus it can fit two people with luggage or three people without luggage. There was no on-site parking, however there was good offsite parking at a public car park and this was about 200 - 300 m walk away. The WiFi was a bit choppy at first but got better. Good experience overall, thanks to the great attitude of the staff including the cleaning lady and dining staff

Best western metropoli is in an Excellent location well placed and walkable location. Staff were friendly and helpful, they helped my get dinner on 26th dec when restaurant are mostly closed. i will stay there again for a short break to Genoa.

The Staff, especially Giorgio, is simply superb. They helped us in so many ways, recovering lost medications by calling on their company Physician who responded promptly well. I recommend this hotel to my friends and relatives. It's difficult to point out anything that I can dislike. Thanks again folks. Our vacation was well enjoyed with my wife who is hard to please. Rome.

Here we go with the Air Conditioning again in Italy! They won’t turn it in regardless of the temperature. After demanding a manager, they offered me a fan!

The parking situation is ridiculous!

And, most importantly, this hotel is advertised as a 4 star hotel and It is definitely a 3 star as displayed on every door in the hotel With the required regulatory statement by Genova city.

Can’t understand how Hotels.com can report these hotels as star types that aren’t legitimate
