The hotel feels stuck in the 80s. Decor of the whole place is fairly grim. Rooms are big but we had no working fridge, tea or coffee making facilities or functioning air con. The air con turned on but sure as hell didn't do much and mostly smelled of cigarettes. As it was 35 degrees outside that was the major disappointment. Also the fuse box in the room tripped at least 2 times a day so we plunged into darkness randomly. On the plus side, the shower we had was good and when we got a fan from reception to cool us down both slept well. As for breakfast, we just didn't bother going again after trying it once. Better off going elsewhere in area.

This is not a 4 star property. It is like a 2.5 star. We booked two rooms, one room was outdated with no outlets, the other room was a little better and more updated. The lobby is not very inviting and needs a lot of work.

This hotel is definitely do not meet standards of 4 star hotel. The location is ok, little bit out of the city center but good. The room is big, but kind of old, but nice. BUT the bathroom... Old, really smelly and not really clean. Hotel was full of young people, who get every night drunk and make noise until 3 oclock. Was not possible to sleep there.
Breakfast was really basic. What i find positive was the friendly and helpful staffs.

Stayed at the hotel for one night to attend concert at Barba Negra Strip. We used the hotel's parking garage, the amenities were good, the breakfast was very good. All in all our stay was pleasant.

Clean standard hotel with nice front desk help

The hotel is clean and very basic place in an area that is a bit far from all the sights, but the helpfulness of the front desk made up for all that. Breakfast is not worth it, you are better off not booking with breakfast. Go have breakfast outside the hotel.

The hotel should never be considered as 4 star. It is the lower end of 3 star. The lobby is dark and dull. The fittings are old and unattractive. We are told there are no double beds. The shower curtain is full of stains. There are no carpets in the room. There is a small mirror in the toilet but no mirror in the room. Breakfast is rubbish. The hotel is not worth its rating of 4 star. Will not go there again

It is a good place to stay. The room was large and spacious. It was quiet (so I couldn't hear what was happening in other rooms). The shower was excellent (very powerful, easily controlled the temperature) and the bed very comfortable. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was varied and excellent. There was a wide selection of fresh fruit, cereals, breads, pastries, cold cuts, cheese, salad and the usual cooked items.
The hotel is situated in a friendly and safe neighbourhood and Mester Utca has several Spar supermarkets (there is one on the corner with Viola Utca), a wonderful ice cream parlour, lots of fast food outlets (NOT the global franchises!) if you fancy a shaworma, kebab, burger or pizza. There are also two tobacconists within 5-8 minutes from the hotel. More upmarket eating can be found easily at Ferenciek Ter.
The hotel is a short walk from Klinikak metro station so you can be in central Pest within 15-20 minutes. It takes about 10 minutes to walk to the nearest bridge and the Danube. The tram links from there can take you to numerous places. Two minutes walk to the Maestro bar on the corner of Viola and Mester Utca (which was a friendly place to spend an evening).
This is a very easy Hotel to get to if you are using public transport from the airport. Bus 200E from outside the arrivals building to Kobanya-Kispest and then metro to Klinikak and a short walk from there (cost 850 florins - less than £2.50).

WiFi signal was very low in the room. The maid did not provide toilet paper regularly. Hotel was very clean and breakfast was very good.
We rented a car and parked in the hotel parking. However to get out from the parking you need to go up to reception and tell them to open the garage door for you. But on the whole it was an enjoyable stay.

No working refrigerator

Been to actor hotel several times in past and every time was it was a good experience. This time I got stuck in room 601. Much smaller room then all the other rooms I've been in. No balcony just a small window. When I first got there I wanted to cool some beers in fridge but it wasn't working. I was told a replacement would be sent up but the whole stay no fridge. Friday night a sh!tload of kids were there so between the kids and being room 601 is right next to elevator I got very little sleep. If I had refrigerator that worked I cold have at least had a few beers. Staff was great and did there best. It's probably only reason I will go back. Hope someone from management will read this. You should pay your worker a little better for all the headaches they have with all the bus loads of Greek and Italian kids that run around there.

Great value for the money

Although this hotel is not in the downtown area I found the trams and metro excellent ways to get anywhere within minutes. Breakfast was very good and staff friendly and always helpful. If you want value for money this is a great hotel.

Good value for your money

Overall a great hotel. Very spacious and the concierge was very helpful. Breakfast was good. The neighbourhood at night is quiet though! Late night don't turn the wrong way, few minutes nearby a not-so great area. I would recommend this business hotel and would stay again.

the hotels location was nearly an hour from the city center by walking; but it's in a quiet neighbourhood; even in the late night; walking was still safe. the airport transfer they provide was a great plus; you do not need to change into forints from airport rates in order to buy bus tickets. The breakfast was a bit poor i guess, especially the coffee, which is absolutely undrinkable.

Nice hotel. Clean room and bathroom. Good AC. Good TV. Solid choice. Very helpful staff. Decent breakfast. Not too far from the nice touristy areas, but not super close either. For example the walk to the parliament is about 1 hour but it is an amazing walk. I stayed here for the F1 weekend and had a great time.

Good value hotel although not centrally located

This is a good value hotel, with helpful and knowledgable staff. Although the decor is a bit dated, the room was large and clean. We had a problem when the air conditioning in our room stopped working on the first night but in the morning the staff member at reception fixed it straight away and we had no further problems. Breakfast was fine although some of the bowls were not clean and the fruit was past its best. The location of the hotel means it is quite far from the city centre but only a 10-15 minute walk to the nearest tram and metro stops. Good free wifi was provided.

Best hotel to stay with your family in Budapest

This was our first trip to Budapest from Calgary. We had so many fears before, but this hotel staff made our living in Budapest memorable. Hotel staff is very helpful and humble. They treat the guests as their family members specially restaurant staff. Front desk staff is also wonderful and always ready to help. Hotel is at a very cool place in the Pest side of the city, and in this way you can have opportunity to interact with local people to know more about their culture and habits.

Great for a quiet getaway

I booked this hotel and travelled with a group of 8 people for a birthday surprise weekend. I was here from thursday until Monday in July 2013.
I found the hotel to be extremely clean, well looked after and excellent staff. Although we didn't spend too much time at the hotel, they were very helpful with everything we asked for and the rooms were very good. It was very spacious inside with a sofa and table in the twin rooms. The bathrrom was very clean

Hotel was clean and tidy
24 hour reception
Efficient cleaners

Other points:
Breakfast didn't match the standards we have had in other 4 star hotels.
The bar was was very quiet with no atmosphere.
The hotel was described as being 20 minutes walk from the centre. The reality was it took a lot longer, however the tube was 10 minutes walk away.

The pros certainly outdid the cons and we had a great time in a wonderful city.

perfectly functional but not as good as it looks.

While perfectly clean and pleasant with helpful staff it was not a 4* hotel in the UK understanding of the rating; probably a 3*. The WiFi doesn't reach the rooms, the decor is a bit worn and dated for a hotel of that rating, both lifts dont go to all floors, breakfast a bit dull and sparse and it is not really city centre in terms of location. Also you dont get a double bed, just 2 generous singles with single duvets. It's also constantly monstrously hot with no truly cold water coming from the tap. The airport pick up is great and a real help but doesn't run all the time. In short imagine a Blackpool guest house circa 1990 and you're pretty much there.

The hotel was in a safe, quiet neighborhood, close walking distance to the park, restuarants, shopping. Room was very clean & comfortable. Had an in room 'safe'. Had an elevator, which was great for my senior father. We felt that 10 euros per person for the continental breakfast was high as the selections were limited. (we paid after our arrival, choosing at time of booking might be less) The offer for the Shuttle service to or from the airport l is only one way, however the rates were very good. Overall, we would definately stay there again.

Room is okay but staff not helpful

The hotel room is in line with 3 or 4 star standard. But hotel staff is not helpful at all when question is asked. My family had a traffic accident in Bupapest and had to abandon our car and take a plan back to Neterhlands. Hotel staff didn't even try to look helpful to answer simple questions such as \"where to buy cartons to pack our luggage\".

The hotel itself is nice and clean although my room was a bit warm and the hotel is very friendly. However, it is a good distance from the main Rd it's off of and a good distance from where the areas of town and attractions are. If your willing to wait on and take a taxi anytime your ready to go somewhere the location isn't too bad but, anytime you get a taxi have an agreed amount before ordering or getting into the cab. But, if your like me and don't want to wait it's about a 10 minute walk to the metro rail, then you hop on the red line and go down 3 stops to the Astoria and go from there as all the better shops, restaurants and attractions are there or you can get to eaily from there. I found everyone to be very nice and had no problems riding the metro rail even late at night but if your a single female you may want to stay at or near the Astoria in the center of town.And accoring to the map the Astoria is both a street and a hotel both in the same location. But if your looking for quiet and want to be away from the hussle and bustle and dont mind a taxi ride or riding the metro then the Actor is for you.

This is NOT a four star hotel.

This hotel, although clean and new on the inside is in a very dilapidated part of Budapest. There are NO TELEPHONES in the rooms for a start. The rooms are quiet bare and very basic save for the flat screen on the wall. The service was basic and English was problematic. The food was very basic too. Lunch and dinner was just one meal on the menu, no choices! Breakfast is continental style, but not very good.Bottom line, THIS IS NOT A FOUR STAR HOTEL BY ANY MEANS!I would give it 2 stars. Another thing- it is really quiet a distance from the main shopping and tourist areas- about 30mins by taxi. You cannot walk there and I would not recommend it as its in a rough area of town.

You would be better off in the Marriott or the Meridian Hotel.

Uselt bemötande av personalen och hotellet var inte alls den standard som utlovats! Poängterade flera ggr att det var alldeles för varmt på rummet, ac var avstängd, inget varmvatten, inte fräscht, efter poängterade brister erbjöds vi först ett rum, sedan ett annat! Det var knappt nägra gäster eftersom de bygger om och renoverar! Har haft bättre service på vandrarhem!

Hotel éloigné du centre-ville.27° de température dans ma chambre m'obligeant à dormir la fenêtre ouverte en plein hiver pendant 5 nuits. Hôtel pas écologique pour chauffer à ce point les chambres. Petit-déjeuner minimaliste avec des employés peu accueillants.Draps pas changés pendant 4 nuits et chambre pas faite malgré mes nombreuses réclamations.Donc je ne recommande pas cet hôtel et je n'y retournerai pas.

Hotel non facilmente raggiungibile a causa di tutti i sensi unici, fondamentale il navigatore! Abbiamo raggiunto il centro usando la metro. Sotto l'hotel è presente un garage custodito ma non ci sono molti posti, noi siamo comunque riusciti a infilare 2 moto tra le varie macchine. La colazione a buffet è ottima e molto abbondante. La camera è molto ampia e ordinata, il letto comodo, purtroppo una volta entrati abbiamo segnalato subito che il lavandino non scaricava l'acqua ma non è venuto nessuno a controllare o a dirci qualcosa e considerando che il lavabo era abbastanza piccolo non è stato di piacevole \"utilizzo\".

Meille oli varattu 4 yötä mutta hotelli oli ylibuukattu niin jouduimme vaihtamaan toiseen hotelliin viimeiseksi yöksi. Aamiainen oli todella ihmeelinen, pekoni esimerkiksi aivan raakaa liekkö lainkaan paistettu. Hotel Corvin johon meidät siirrettiin oli mielestämme tosi hyvä, menemme sinne uudestaan seuraavalla matkalla.
Syömässä kävimme joka päivä Ogtogon Bisztrossa jossa buffet, tosi hyvä edulliseen hintaan

Ich verstehe die negativen Rezensionen nicht. Es ist günstig, es ist gut genug und ich selber hatte auch noch das Glück und hatte ein Zimmer mit Dachterasse. Ich habe mich absolut wohl gefühlt.
Es gab Kleinigkeiten, ja, aber der Preis ist wirklich günstig und was andere hier so anmerken, klingt für mich gnadenlos übertrieben.

Cosy hotel in a quiet neighbourhood

The hotel is located in a calm neighbourhood with no disturbing traffic. There are cafés and a supermarket just a minute's walk away, though - so it's not quite in the bush either. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful, which made it easy to overlook petty glitches, such as a minibar fridge that wasn't cold.
The room was spacey, with a view over the park-like courtyard. The air conditioning kept the room nice and cool during 30°C outside temperatures and the bathroom (we showered 3 times a day) had a good standard. The TV showed quite a few local channels. The WiFi was free but sometimes a bit exhausted due to everybody logging in right after breakfast. The art deco interior of the hotel was also pleasing to my eye.
The breakfast was good and adequate for the 10€ price, even though my lactose intolerant girlfriend would have appreciated some lactose free milk products.

Bra beliggenhet, men litt gammelt hotell

Hotellet lå bra til, 10 minutter til t-bane og 2 min til trikk. Hotellet ligger i et rolig område utenfor de mest bråkete gatene. Det er ikke et nytt hotell og det er litt slitt, men ser fremdeles helt ok ut. Frokosten var litt kjedelig og da det kom mange ble maten tom lenge.

Muuten ok , mutta lämpöpuhallin oli jumissa ja puhalsi jatkuvasti kuumaa;vaikka oli sammuksissakin huone oli iltapäivällä tosi kuuma , joten piti pitää parvekkeen ovea auki ja oli kuitenkin lokakuu, Asialle ei pyynnöstä huolimatta tehty yhtikäs mitään. Ainoa peili sijaitsi wc-tiloissa , kokovartalopeiliä ei ainakaan tässä huoneessa ollut.

Actor Hotel er et godt hotel. Stort værelse. De mangler noget hygge, som kunde være bilder på vægen. Venlig personale. Ende minus er Internet, som ikke kunde bruges på værelset. Ende sted var i velkomst hallen. Nemt at finde vej til centrum. Mangler, at man kan lave en kop kaffe på værelset. Der er kaffe bar i velkomst hallen.

Zum Zentrum ist es relativ weit

Es gibt Tram und wenn diese auch nicht direkt vor dem Hotel ist, so geht es dennoch ganz gut.
Das Hotel hat viele kleinere Mängel an nicht fertig ausgeführten Arbeiten und Ecken wo es nicht sauber ist. Daher ist das klar ein Schwachpunkt. Ansonsten okay wenn man nur wenige Nächte in Budapest bleibt.

A banheira era muito estreita, e o posicionamento do chuveiro equivocado, em minha opinião, o que causou dificuldade em ajustar o jato de água para evitar que espirrasse para fora da banheira.

Vi sov 3 nätter på Actor hotel, bra bemötande i receptionen. Frukosten som ingick tittade vi bara på men bestämde snabbt för att äta den ute istället, såg inte gott ut + ofräscht. Rummet var i bra skick, rent och fräscht men väldigt kallt trots avstängd ac/hög temperatur på. Badrummet var ok, vattnet som skvätte ut från duschen rann ut i stora rummet så det blev en stör pöl där efter varje dusch.
Annars var hotellet i helhet bra, ifall man inte ska göra mer än att sova där.
