The guest room had a bad smell. I heard water gurgling in the bathroom floor drain. The front desk staff was not friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was in a restaurant next door and not very good with staff that was not friendly or helpful. This was a bad hotel choice and would never recommend to anyone.

If you're catching an early morning train, then this is the place to stay. Our rooms were very comfortable and the hotel is lovely. To be honest we were only here for 1 night so hardly enough time to interact with the staff. Everyone seemed professional and helpful. The suggestion of a restaurant by the concierge led us to a wonderful local restaurant. Our room was quite elegant and very comfortable.

Super hotel located in the city center, good service and excellent breakfast. The hotel is located in front of the Genoa-Brignole station, furthermore many city buses leave in front of the hotel with which you can visit the whole city. In the nearby streets there are many restaurants or shops that sell pizza and focaccia. The Oriental Market is also nearby where you can shop or simply take great photos. I hope to go back.

Very disappointing

Not great. Reception was old fashioned, tired and dark. The breakfast was pretty good and the room was modern, BUT no hot water on day 1 and barely tepid on day 2. It was unseasonably cold, but there was no heating. I notified reception, they sent an engineer up, but no heating. The receptionist joked I should do exercise to warm up…. They supplied a blanket.
I cannot believe this was 8+ stars. I will not be returning.

This hotel is ok for a couple of nights stop over, but the room we were in was very smallso wouldnt recommend for long stays if staying for longer than that . Staff were fantastic and the hotel was spotless . Just a standard double bed in our room though.

Best Western Verdi is Great!

Arrived at 9 am and I was told that J could check in with my family. Staff is exceptional. They provided us not only an early check in but also free fridge bar with juice, water, soda and biscuits. They have a beautiful inside lift my kids wanted to ride all the time. The location is 100 m from the Brignole Train Station, and within the old town. Great place to find a little nice restaurant. If I ever return to Genova, I will stay there. They are remodeling the whole outside building.

Close to Brignole and within walking distance of most of Genoa's attractions. Older hotel with quaint elevator. Rooms have been recently modernised/updated. Smaller room is OK. Heating in winter should work better in rooms. Bathroom cold even with radiator on

Location is excellent. Across Brignole train and subway stations, taxis in front, buses too, restaurants all over, short walk to Piazza Ferrari, shopping, and other sites. However the air conditioning did not work and although I asked them to fix it seems like no one bothered.
Also the lock in the bathroom did not worked and they didn’t had a look on this matter either.
Because was no ventilation system in the bathroom and the ac did not work the bathroom had a damp funny smell.
The bed was very comfortable, great location and the room was spacious.

We stayed here because so close to train station across road hotel very clean staff lovely and helpful breakfast was good, but only if up early as they seem to run out of things and not replace, but it was busy when we stayed, bar staff excellent, and a great Chinese restaurant just round corner was great when didn’t want to walk far. After traveling each day hop on hop of bus just across the road too 48hours for €11 would stay again

Arrived on Friday 26th Jan for a 2 night stay. Easy access via Volabus. Very helpful staff at reception and when asked recommended a couple of restaurants nearby. The one we visited was lively and full of locals just what we had asked for. Fantastic.
The following day the staff again gave us interesting areas we could visit. Unfortunately the weather was a bit wet but nevertheless what a beautiful city.
Our room was compact, however, the cleaner, Abe, I think was her name did a incredible job the room was spotless. Please thank her for us.

Comfortable hotel in perfect location

Our second stay across from Brignole train station where airport bus drops and Hop-on-Hop Off bus has a stop. Around the side starts a pedestrian street of small shops and restaurants for a long way toward an entrance to the covered market and on the way to the arcaded streets to the center. The hotel has some \"old world\" charm that hasn't been damaged by modern décor. A \"small\" double room is just that but fine for sleeping with a small adequate bathroom. Nice toiletries including a generous amount of lotion. Nice lounge and bar area and pleasant front desk staff. Very good breakfast for E 4. Definitely recommended.

Overall great stay... very big rooms, confortable and well decorated (ask for the recently renovated ones)... This hotel was not my first choice when looking for rooms, and i must say I chose it because they accepteded pets... Then we were really nicely surprised... Staff were friendly... Breakfast buffet was good with enough choice.
They recommanded a great restaurant around (Stallone) which made this stay even better.

Convenient location to travel around

The hotel is nice. The facilities of the room are good. There is a safe as well. The mini bar is free with some bottled drinks and snack in the refrigerator. The staff are friendly and helpful. When I was disturbed by a mosquito at night and could not sleep, he gave me an electric mosquito repellent to solve the problem. Free and secure luggage storage after check-out. It is very close to the Genoa railway station and metro stop for one to explore the area. Also walking distance to city centre (10 min). But the room is quite small and not much eateries around the hotel.

The hotel was across from the train station (not Centrale). This was great since we travelled by train. The hop on hop off bus is across the street. Breakfast was good and we only paid $4 each. Great shopping and eating places near by. Bathroom was very nice. Good value.

We chose this hotel because of the proximity to the Genova Brignole station. Right across the street from the station (just a 2 minute walk) and very easy to get to. We were visiting Genoa, but also did a day trip to Cinque Terra from here -- being close to the train station made the trip very efficient and allowed us to maximize our time in Cinque Terre. Check in was very quick. We had a quadruple room (one queen bed and two single beds). Room was very clean. Beds were a bit hard, but okay. WIFI was always fast and reliable. It doesn't take long to walk to the central part of the city or the waterfront from this location. Check out was quick and they gladly held our luggage for 6 hours after check out while we checked out Genoa one last time before our evening train to our next stop.

Lovely rooms, very clean, great room servicing each day. It is not the most up to date hotel in terms of technology, you get wifi but not much else. Breakfast is great value and nicely presented. On premise car parking is a welcome challenge to enthusiastic drivers, not for the faint hearted. The location of the hotel js its greatest asset. It is around the corner from a great shopping street and just a short walk further to the heart of the social scene. The train station is right across the street. I stayed for 6 nights with my family of 6 and we loved it.

A very convenient hotel

We had one night in Genoa and needed a hotel that was close to transportation, close to areas of interest and shopping. The Best Western in Piazza Verdi exceeded all of our expectations. The only slightly negative issue was that the beds were too firm (read \"hard\".)
But staff was friendly, breakfast choices were excellent and location was unbeatable. Highly recommended.

Great location especially for Brignole train and bus station. Short walk to high street shops, stunning cathedral and old town narrow lanes. Hotel was superb with wonderful staff. Room was brilliant with comfortable bed and great shower. Breakfast was an extra 4 euros pp and was plentiful with so much choice. Liked their little pancake making machine. A very nice addition to an already plentiful breakfast, and had maple syrup.

Convenient location for transport

Very good breakfast for 4 euros per person and excellent value for money. Excellent shower. Free minbar. Only downside was room was a bit small but okay for a city break.
Would recommend train to Santa Margarita for Portofino, both lovely seaside towns .

A small charming elegant hotel full of character. Very conveniently situated right next to the Brignole railway station where the airport bus stops. The metro is also at the station. Excellent breakfast for very little money.The staff went out of their way to be helpful. The only downside was the miniscule room but even this was beautifully furnished. The bathroom was very modern and smart.

Best Western Moderno Verdi - Genoa

Position was perfect during our 3 night stay. Hotel is on the same square as Brignole Station that serves regional, inter-city and Metro trains. Easy 15 minute walk to the centre of the old town, 20 to the harbour. In the other direction, 20 minute walk to the Genoa/Sampdoria football stadium. Bus to and from airport runs from in front of the station (six euros each).

Staff very friendly and helpful. Bar small but cosy. Excellent indian and Italian restaurants just around the corner (120 seconds walk).

As for Genoa itself - we enjoyed every minute.
