Central Hotel

We stayed for one night in June 2024. The hotel is located near the center of the city. That being said, it is on a one way street and the signage is not that great. In fact, we had to go down the street twice before finding the hotel as given this is an NH usually the signage is better.

If you are using the hotel parking, it is actually the block before the hotel and then you have to walk down a very steep street...keep this in mind if you are carrying your luggage. There was not place to stop in front of the hotel to unload as there were cars parked everywhere.

Getting to the elevators was a bit challenging as we had to walk up about 8 steps with our luggage before we came to the elevators. The front desk staff did not offer to use the small elevator to get our stuff up to the elevator level.

The room itself was modern and clean but the bed took up about 90% of the space in the room. The bed was comfy but there was not a lot of space to move around. Good air conditioning. We found the water pressure in the shower OK but not great.

Room came with a mini fridge and individually controlled AC unit.

a really nice place

this is a great hotel, I have stayed here twice before and I like it. The breakfast is quite extensive, but much too much for me as I don't usually eat that much in the morning (so it makes it too expensive for me). But I did eat one time, and it is very good. The staff is great, although occasionally the charming desk girl is more interested in going in the front to smoke a cigarette than in helping the patrons.

Treat yourself to a nice place like this

This place requires a taxi ride to get to, but I think it is worth it. It always felt very safe in this area, unlike the downtown area which sometimes was a bit dodgy. The only problems I had here were the people smoking in the next room and I couldn't get the heat/AC to work properly - I was always too hot or too cold and this would cause me to wake up at night. I loved walking around to eat at the local eateries in the area around this hotel - the pesto in Genova is unsurpassed! I mostly like to visit free parks and such, but I did break down and went to the Aquarium (like a tourist). The park with the waterfall close by is a real treat.

The rooms offered on the website was different from the room primarily offered from the hotel. We booked two superior rooms and what we got was quite different. According to the hotel, there were all part of the same category but the rooms were quite different (they used the pictures of nicest room obviously as the example of the room category). After 3 changes and some arguements the hotel staff managed to give us only one room similar to the booked accomadation. Some of the hotel staff could be much more friendly. Quite clean service, but old building...Bathroom quite tight and waterflow quite weak. No parking on site. All n all would not rate the hotel as 4 star and overpriced stay for the quality.

Hotel is in an ideal location for exploring Genoa. Walking distance to all areas and also plenty of restaurants/cafes within walking distance. Don't miss the lovely park across the street with waterfall. Walk to the top and you get a lovely view over Genoa. Room is adequate for a short city break as we did. We didn't pay for breakfast as this seemed expensive and plenty of cheaper choices nearby. Staff were polite and helpful and area was quiet overnight. Would recommend for a short city break.

Great stay, great city!

Fabulous location to see all the local attractions. Ability to walk to everything you need. Staff are friendly and courteous. I went as part of a group to celebrate my birthday and they upgraded my room as a good will gesture. Highly recommend the breakfast, vast selection although sometimes running short and quality of the scrambled eggs varied each day. Would go back that’s for sure.

- Very good location (walking distance to shopping area and old town)
- Breakfast are good enough, with selection of dedicated food/candy for children
- Parking is a down side, as you have to park you car about 300 m away in a parking garage, and you have to leave your keys to the people who owns the garage (they are not polite at all, very unpleasant in the beginning)

Nice clean hotel

We arrived at hotel and were given our room only to find ourselves in a tiny double after requesting a twin on booking. After speaking to reception they were very helpful and gave us a much larger twin room with a view of the park.
Also at time of booking l mentioned that it was my daughter's birthday and we were treated to a glass of fizz and nibbles at the bar. Very nice.

A few yards from Piazza Corvetto, a beautiful spot with 2 parks. Right on the edge of old town. Interior very contemporary and comfortable. Very easy to deal with, staff helpful.

Clean, good location and comfortable.

We had three nights here and room was clean.and comfortable.
Bed was two singles pushed together to make large double but mattress topped helped us not feel the gap (had similar problems elsewhere).
Tea and coffee facilities in room but no milk, maybe the italian way. Went to the bar to ask for.some.

When we checked out we were able to leave our bags which helped.

Good room. Terrible service

Hotel staff is wired. They are mechnical.. not very willing to help. Sound like it is just a job. No smile as if they are just wishing they are home. Service of parking garage horrible. parking is 20 euros and it is not self park. The parking guy broke our key with piece missing . Manager only say sorry.. there was no commercial justure of any kind. Very disappointed. Hotel room is very nice however.. very slow wifi

Great hotel, friendly staff, close to town.

Great hotel, modern, clean, and close to the center of the town. The stuff were wonderful, super friendly, and very accommodating. I had two different rooms for two different nights but they upgraded me to the bigger room for both nights so I didn't have to change room the next day. That was very nice gesture. They even checked me in early. Loved everything about this hotel, even the restaurant downstairs offered great selections of food and awesome customer service. Thank you.

Modern, clean, and convenient. Standard room is quite small. Some desk staff more knowledgable and helpful than others. Nice breakfast spread.

Worst Hotel Stuff I have ever seen

2 days before we arrive at the hotel, we sent an email to the Hotel Reception explaining that we will be arriving early(around 6 am) therefore we asked if there is any way we can check in to the hotel if there is no one else before us staying in our room. Hotel Reception confirmed that is possible and we can do it. Once we arrive at the hotel at 6 am the next day, very much tired after 10 hours of bus ride, the guy at the reception told us that we can't do early check in even though the room was empty at the moment. He told us if we give 30 EURO more, he can get us checked in at 9 am. What kind of hotel is that??? I have been around the world with many different hotels and I never seen a hotel this one where everyone is so much money oriented but not customer oriented at all. Rooms cleanliness and comfort was OK but this kind of customer service will not get them anywhere, if you have a chance stay at another hotel, do it!

Genova Downtown Oasis

I needed a conveniently located hotel near my business meetings which also had great dining, shopping and convenient train station access. The NH met all my criteria and provided a relaxing oasis following my meetings and business dinners. I will return to this wonderful little hotel. The staff were exceedingly professional, efficient and courteous.

Right at the centre of things

I've been making trips to Genova since spring 2014, once for a proper holiday and the rest of the time for gigs: Genova is at the heart of the rock progressivo Italiano movement, with an annual festival held in Porto Antico plus lots of other, more intimate performances in the theatres and clubs around the city. The deal on NH Centro when I visited the first time was so good, and the experience so pleasant, it's where I've booked all six times I've been back to Genova. The breakfast is consistently good in all NH hotels (I've also used them for stays in Milano and Roma), the staff are helpful and friendly, and the rooms are always clean and comfortable with a decent speed free wifi.
On this trip I found myself inconvenienced. The PC for editing documents and accessing the internet (I had a blog to post and editing content on an Android mobile phone is not possible) would not allow guests to log in because of a connection problem with the reception system. I pointed this out on a Monday and one of the reception staff, helpful and pleasant as always, had a look and reported the fault to someone who she believed could resolve the issue. I checked later that day, a number of times on Tuesday and on Wednesday, but the fault persisted.
The hotel prides itself on its business credentials and hosts many professional gatherings. Most people now use mobiles for communication but they sometimes aren't appropriate. A functioning PC in these instances is an absolute necessity

Visit to Genoa

Very centrally located and within walking distance to the major places of interest. Have been staying at this hotel on my business visits since several years and like the friendly front office staff, their breakfast menu and clean rooms.

Nice central hotel

Really nice hotel with a good bar and restaurant. Staff are friendly and helpful.
Gym is good and open all the time, weights are a little light but normal for a hotel gym.
One disappointment is the wifi, although you got free wifi with good signal strength the speed was terrible and I switched back to 4g which was quicker.
I will stay there again.

Comfortable hotel close to Brignole train station

Most city attractions were within walking distance. Breakfast buffet was quite good.
You do have to carry your bags over a small flight of stairs to get to the elevator.
Hotel staff responded promptly to questions and complaints.
