The only good for this Hostal was the location near to Allbrook Mall, I received my Room around 3:30 pm even when they knew that I was very tired and reached the Hostal around 5am

The pool is cute, but I didn’t use it. The cleaning and maintenance staff are very friendly and helpful, the front desk staff not so much. Indifferent at best, not particularly friendly or welcoming. One thing I like about this place is that there’s a washer and dryer. But bring quarters and your own detergent. The desk staff have no change and make little effort to help, except to call the restaurant to see if they have change. I keep coming back here because it’s quiet, clean, and in a beautiful natural setting while still very close to the city and the airport. For birdwatchers, there’s excellent birding just behind the inn at the swamp (St Mary’s Catchment). These things, plus the affordable price keep me coming back despite the less than friendly welcome.

Because of some tech issues, my room suddenly wasn’t available anymore. Instead of excuses, they immediately took full responsibility, handled everything and booked me a room at a nearby hotel at no extra cost. No stress, no back and forth, just pure proactiveness.
That level of responsiveness is exactly what you hope for from any business. Mistakes happen, but how they handled it was top-notch.

The bathroom grout is very very moldy and looks really gross. It was hard to even think of wanting to get in the shower. As soon as you walked in you see a very large smashed mosquito on the wall which I’ve read about by another previous traveler but thought no that would have been cleaned up ?? Nope still there… It’s very loud and the water runs very loud from neighbors bathroom which I assume makes it an older building.A plus is the great breakfast and close proximity to everything in Panama City. However, had to say I would never go back to the hotel. The staff was nice though. One lady put my food in the Steph refrigerator since there are no refrigerators in the room that was very nice of her. This is the only time I’ve written a bad review so makes me sad to do that.

The staff was always on the phone and we needed to wait literally every time we went to the office. the rooms are old, the amenities are poor at best. when the hotel was priced reasonably it was acceptable but now at the same price as other hotels nearby I just can't stay here.

The hotel is nice with 24 support in the front desk. The staff was friendly and helpful. I am going back to the area in a week and I might stay there again, but there was one big negative: The room did not have a table or chair. Maybe it was removed by mistake, but it was very uncomfortable to browse my computer sitting on the bed. The other negative is the walls are very thin and I could hear anytime the people in the next room knocked on a wall or table in normal activities.

I travel internationally for work at least half the year. This is easily the worst night sleep I’ve ever had at a hotel. Stayed in room 114 (don’t recommend) since they blast reggaeton till 1:00 am just outside the door. People partied until 4:00 am stumbling back to their room. Doors and windows are incredibly thin and you head absolutely everything. To top it off, the front deck lady told us, make sure you up at 7 to have breakfast before your flight. Got up early, oops, breakfast isn’t until 8 on Sundays. Overall just pretty bad. I’ve stayed at the Marriott on the other side of the airport, much nicer and not much more expensive. The only additional thing I’ll mention is that our friends stayed on the other side of the building and were far enough away from the music to not be too bad, but did complain about all the parties in the rooms.

Clean and comfortable, in an excellent area for a quick morning or afternoon birdwatching walk. The back garden area is lovely and surrounded by forest. It's also centrally located and easy to get to the Albrook Airport or city by Uber. I only ate at the restaurant once, but the sancocho was excellent and the Cerveza Panama was bien fria! My only complaint is that there is a very bright light in the parking area which is not blocked out by the curtain. Bring an eye mask! Also, there was no luggage rack or other surface in the room for a suitcase. The wifi was weak and intermittent. But otherwise, the staff were polite, the room and bathroom were very clean, and the price was good.

Terrible customer service, the receptionist didn’t communicate. I have to ask her for the WIFI. The bathrooms was dirty, the toilet seat was wet. I think the hand towel and one of the bath towel was used because looked dirty and flat. Two of the soaps were used and one had hair. The tray that hold the soaps and shampoo/conditioning was dirty. Sink was not cleaned. Shower can use some bleach and scrub. There were not table or desk to do any work or eat, and outlet didn’t work. Breakfast was boring. I paid $89+ for each night x 2 nights but left the next day. Too expensive for the quality.

I have stayed here multiple times , good area and it’s convenient. This time I noticed a lot of bothersome issues with the staff. I requested our breakfast to go daily due to tour times and my husband not wanting to sit in in a restaurant next to anyone (his covid concerns) all was good until the 3 rd day when I was informed by the front desk of breakfast being a “ curtesy “ and they did not want to do to go boxes.I specifically get hotel with breakfast included. It’s not a curtesy. Another instance we ordered pizza and we’re going to eat it by the pool and were informed to move away from the cámara view cause of management. They want you to purchase from their restaurant on their premises. Both instances were inappropriate. If I choose to purchase from the restaurant , get take out or request a box breakfast should not be made into a concern. We are not kids, we’re paying adults. rooms are clean , bed nightstand and one chair. It was petty and unnecessary.

Big problems with the low flow toilet clogging. Staff not responsive to unclog it in a timely manner - over 24 hours with a non functioning toilet. Also thought $50 to extend check out for 2 hours was excessive when it was $70 a night, especially after enduring toilet issues. I should have known better. 3 years ago I reserved a room for 7 days and three days later they canceled my reservation because, they said, they got a better deal. This time I reserved because I needed a room for the night and it was the closest hotel to the transportation that I needed. I reserved and paid in advance on June 7th for the night of June 10th. When I arrived, around 8:00 pm, the owner was nowhere to be found and 20 minutes later when he arrived, he was not even aware that I had a reservation. Additionally, I had to wait for them to get the room ready. The room was clean but had a very musty odor. Had a horrible night's rest!

The Allbrook Inn is old and run down. Our room had black mold on the walls. Of course, it is in a very damp climate so it is hard to control this but it was not a great place to stay. We had business in the area and this was the closest place to where we needed to be but I would not stay here again.
