This review is for the suite. It is super clean. Ample and comfortable. Bedding and towels are top quality. Hot water is hot and AC is cold. Good water pressure. The small kitchen with microwave, fridge and table is so convenient
Just one small details, on this last visit, the bedding smelled a bit clean. Maybe they used too much detergent. Rooms 203 and 206 I highly recommend

We stayed three nights in this hotel. Overall this hotel is nice, clean and quite good value. The included breakfast is good. It is located in the heart of El Dorado with many restaurants, supermarkets and shops close to the hotel. El Dorado is considered to be a safe area in Panama City with a very large Chinese community. The hotel is quite close to the Panama Canal and the old town. It costed about USD 5-8 to take a taxi or UBER from the hotel to the old town.

I first must say the room was clean & so was the property and the staff is wonderful. I had a problem with the noise. The pool is supposed to be open 8 to 8. Well there were people out there to way past midnight and then I heard people at 1 or 2 laughing and making all sorts of noise. It was tough not to go and complain. I probably should have. The doors are older, and they are not sealed all the way so you can see the light and because of this, you can hear all the noise which echoes up from the pool & courtyard.
Since I have stayed in other hotels in Panama City, the breakfast was OK, not great. Mainly because of the noise I would not stay there again.

We were disappointed with our stay! The fan in the bathroom above us was left on for hours and was so loud we had to shut our bathroom door. They advertise airport shuttle and they don’t have an airport shuttle, they call a taxi for you and it’s $30 USD. Our coffee maker wasn’t working and the breakfast dining room didn’t offer paper cups to take your coffee to your room!

The room was clean staff was friendly and was able to accommodate English speakers. The AC was great pool was refreshing. The only complaint I had was a weak wifi connection in the rooms. I would suggest repeater or a second wifi in the back of the building. The breakfast area has been modernized and was a nice change since last visit. The food is always fresh and tasty and has many options for varied pallettes.

The AC was set to 18°C in the room. Terribly cold. We turned it warmer. But then the room has a lot of condensation during the night. The room smelled like bleach when we first arrived.
The safe is not bolted to anything.
Mini fridge, microwave and coffee machine in room.
It was odd to have to take a step up to bathroom.
The mattress was comfortable. The bed had 4 pillows which was good for us.
We could walk to any of the Chinese restaurants in the immediate area (there are many!)
Breakfast was just like other reviews said, you go after 9am and there is limited food selection. The staff doesn't replenish. They even had coffee cups behind closed doors. Someone had to ask for coffee to be refilled also. Breakfast was only open until 10am.

I booked this hotel due to an unexpected stay in Panama City, due to a flight delay. According to the description of the property on Expedia, this hotel was close to the airport and had an airport shuttle. It turned out that the hotel was about 15 miles from the airport, in downtown Panama City, in a not so great neighborhood. The Best Western did not have an airport shuttle. The room itself was fine and the hotel staff were courteous and attentive.

Excellent hotel. The staff is very courteous and always helpful. The rooms are simple simple but it's sparkling clean. The bathroom is ample with a nice hot water pressure.. We reserve the suite, which includes living room, a small dining table and chair, fridge and microwave and a sink. I have stayed at this hotel 5 times during 2025 and plan on returning during 2025.

The room was always clean. However, we got transferred because the toilet was overflowing with water that was about to flow into the room. Then, another thing happened. The room we transferred to had a door malfunction so we were locked out until 12 pm. It was remedied fast though, and overall we had a wonderful stay. I loved the breakfast.

The staff at this hotel was most accommodating. The room was clean and the whole environment was safe at all times.

I will be recommending this hotel to others who are planning a trip to Panama. It convenient and a 5minute walk to the El Dorado Mall. All the restaurants are withing walking distant and my family and I felt safe walking in the area.

Please add more English speaking channels to your TV Guide, a movie channel would be nice, not just CNN and Fox News.

The property was nice and clean. Staff were ok but i didn't experience exceptional service like i saw in the reviews. That is fine once they are courteous enough, which they were. Breakfast was alright. There was a change in most of the foods every morning. The room was spacious, clean and the bed was comfortable. House keeping did a good job. There was some construction at the hotel, which led to a little noise. Outback of the hotel was an area for trucks and other larger vehicles, which also had a bit of noise. Besides that, our view of people's backyards.

I really like the property and have been there many times, but on our last stay they were doing construction early in the morning. Also, the wifi was not working on the first floor towards the front. Other than that, they have done a good job with renovations.

I recommend the Best Western El Dorado just make sure they give you a room away from what's left of the renovations.

Nice hotel and nice room on the inside, but located in a seedy part of the city fairly far away from city sights and the airport, and where they don’t recommend walking at night. There’s a TGI Fridays connected to the hotel with good American food. The pool looked nice but I didn’t use it. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Fine stay but far location

We had an ok stay here. When we arrived, we were assigned a room that faced the street. It was loud…and there was a car alarm that would not stop beeping. There was no way we could get sleep. We asked to be transferred to another room. The front desk was gracious and helpful. They switched us to a quieter room, which was great because there was no outside noise and we could sleep but there was also no view. The window opened to a concrete wall. It was fine…the room was otherwise comfortable and clean. The pros…there’s a coin-operated laundry onsite you can use for a quick load. I did a load while my daughter swam in the pool. The pool was nice and clean. There’s a microwave, coffee maker, and fridge in the room. The free breakfast was nice but it’s held in a room that feels corporate and stuffy. Good front desk service and housekeeping. There’s daily cleaning/bed making for your room. The cons: although it’s only a few km from downtown/casco viejo, it feels far. It’ll take you a good 20-30 mins to get to casco viejo if you’re traveling during rush hour. Not during rush hour is 10-15 mins in an uber. The whole first floor is being renovated, so it’s kind of like your going through a construction site when down there. Also, there are no good authentic restaurants nearby. there’s just TGI Fridays, ihop, and like kfc. Overall, we had a comfortable sleep and thought the hotel was well equipped but lacked in location.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the exceptional Front Desk team—especially Alejandro, Jorge, and the administrative assistant whose name unfortunately escapes me at the moment. Throughout our stay, they demonstrated remarkable professionalism by being helpful in recommending various tourist sites and attractions, and consistently interactive, attentive, and highly efficient in addressing our needs. When we initially checked in and discovered that our assigned room next to the elevator was causing some disturbance due to noise issues, they handled the situation with remarkable professionalism and promptly relocated us to a more suitable room the very next morning, ensuring our comfort for the remainder of our stay.

The breakfast options were excellent. I would definitely return when visiting Panama due to its easy access to all tourist sites.

The taxi service was exceptional. Our driver demonstrated great professionalism, maintaining a friendly demeanor. His careful driving and thorough knowledge of the local roads made us feel completely at ease during our transfers.

We were in the heart of everything. Safe environment, friendly and respectful staff at the hotel and the people we encountered on the streets were so polite and friendly as well. The only thing that could make a difference there to get a 5 star is if they fix the noise the elevators make. Anywhere you are whether first, second or third floor you will get annoyed. I felt sorry for the guests who stayed in the rooms close to the elevators moreso. 24 hr noise because people are constantly using them. There has to be a way to fix this issue. Outside of that, we had fun sitting and chatting by the pool. Moses at the front desk was so nice to us. Will definitely go back there, hopefully by then the noise will be gone.
