The room was properly clean, however, they need to add at least 2 bottle water as even the most economical hotels have these in their room. The receptionists were pleasant but could provide a little more as to what the hotel offer while staying here even though there's not much here.

I had an excellent extended stay at this hotel and couldn’t speak more highly of it! The front desk and housekeeping staff were exceptionally courteous and accommodating throughout my entire stay; my room was very spacious, clean, and extremely well-designed for work and rest; the hotel featured a wonderful variety of comfortable workspaces in its common areas; the WiFi was very reliable; and there was always an elevator car available to get me where I needed to go. The restaurant and bar located just off the main lobby offered a great dining option for the days I didn’t feel like going out for food – the perfect complement to the bevy of eateries located within manageable walking distance of the lot. In addition to offering easy access to the city’s financial district, this Holiday Inn also offers easy access to Obarrio – a bustling neighborhood situated just north of the financial district where visitors can soak in some of the city’s local energy. It’s also just a short car-ride away from Multiplaza Panamá – one of the largest, most contemporary shopping malls in the region. Based on all of that and much, much more, I would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is well positioned within the center of Panama City, so heading west or east to locations is an easy and inexpensive Uber ride. Small cafes and restaurants are nearby within walking distance. The hotel was well maintained all around.

This has been our go to place for years. However the last several times we have had to either have maintenance come and fix the AC, or move to a new room because the AC was not working correctly. Also, its impossible to order toom service. The restaurant menu is nowhere to be found online, there is no copy in the room or even a online code to find it. And when you call room service nobody answers, ever! So you have to go down to the restaurant yourself to place your order, then go back to your room and wait. When i brought this to the attention of the staff they said they were too busy to answer the phone. I own a restaurant, they were not too busy to answer the phone.
Time to find a new favorite hotel to stay in. Oh well.

Watch Out for the Slippery Shower Floor!

Generally a good mid-priced hotel in a convenient neighborhood. My only complaint was the shower floor, which was incredibly slippery. Quite dangerous.

Overall the stay was pretty good. The AC in the bedroom took a long time to cool off the room, like 5 hours. But after that it was very nice.
I had an option this time to reserve a room on a HIGH floor, which i think tends to be more quiet. There was an extra $10 per night charge for this. I totally forgot about that and they put us on the 3rd floor.
Still a nice room, next time i will remember to check the reservation before we check in.

Nice Hotel with Glitches

I've stayed at the Holiday Inn Financial District MANY times. I like the location, parking availability, comfort and breakfast buffet. However, over the last 3 or 4 visits it seems some irritating policies have been implemented. First, is the key card system. The system deactivates your card 24 to 48 hours BEFORE the end of your stay forcing you to the reception desk to reactivate your key. It is very irritating to return after a day our and then return to your room and the key is deactivated and you have to go and get the key reactivated. This has happened on my last 4 trips! Also they tend to have problems with correctly assessing your room charge. Namely, they attempt to over charge you for your stay even though you have made a confirmed reservation and rate. This has occurred twice. This last visit the attempt was to over charge me $100. Interesting that they never have under charged me. Last, they changed to liquid soap/shampoo/conditioner dispensers. They are in tight stainless steal cages and it is difficult to use due to the short dispenser spouts. The dispenser cage has sharp edges!

This hotel is definitely an older building that could use some renovations and sprucing up. We chose it based on its proximity to the New Year’s Eve plans we had. This is not a fancy location by any means but the staff are friendly and welcoming. The facilitiy despite its condition is very clean. Breakfast buffet is pretty good with options for everyone
