Very nice comfortable room although our room lacked a decent view. We had a recurring problem with the keycard failing to open the door to our room. After repeated trips to the front desk they eventually gave us a physical key which worked fine. The hotel had a terrific hot breakfast with great variety. The location is very good just uphill from the pedestrian area. We used the valet service for our rental car which worked fine. Be careful driving the one way road to reach the hotel. The road turns right at the Messina Gate and a block up the street you MUST turn right through a narrow arch to reach the hotel. If you miss this turn you will spend 20-30 minutes on a confusing route to have another go at it.

The hotel is nothing short of Splendid. A wonderful, new top to bottom renovation makes for a bright, contemporary space. The restaurant is first rate. It is located in a convenient location, 5 minutes from the bus stop and the gates to Corso Umberto. The amphitheatre is a short, scenic 10 minute walk.

In our room, the bathroom door was a strange,sliding glass door with a large hole where the handle should have been. Shower head would not stay fixed. The room only had paper cups and staff said that they were not allowed to provide real glasses. Breakfast was fine but not great. Staff was very helpful and pleasant.

This is a lovely, professionally-run hotel. We paid extra for a balcony with a sea view and didn't regret it. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was excellent.

Driving and parking in Taormina is expensive and challenging. We paid 50 euros to park at Porta Pasquale for 3 nights. It's about a 5-10 minute walk downhill from the hotel. People had a really hard time figuring out how to use the parking machine, but eventually everyone did. They need better instructions.

We absolutely loved our stay at Splendid and were sad to leave our beautiful room and the amazingly kind and helpful staff. Ivana was especially helpful, but we enjoyed everyone. When my fiancé required medical attention, they called a doctor for him.

The room was small but lovely, especially the balcony with the gorgeous view! The location was great. We can’t wait to return.

The view from the room was great. However, the room is small, moldy and not very clean. We found hair on the towels. The keys must be left with at the reception everytime you leave but it was ok. The aircon could not be turned high and so it was quite cold in the room. Me and my partner fell sick due to the mold with fever, dizziness and stuffy nose which impacted our holiday in other cities. The staff were good and the location is convenient but I would not recommend due to the mold and cleanliness. There is no free parking. There is a valet parking which can be expensive if you have a car and are staying for many days.

This is one of the best hotels I have ever visited. Front desk was exceptional! Ivana made everything easy and provided detailed information about what to see and do. This is a beautiful property, and we had a beautiful room!! However, the staff is the best part about this property. They are kind and helpful. All the staff is great. The breakfast was very good. This is a great, easily accessible hotel just off the main strip. You're back in a gated part of the city, so can be a little tricky to find, but the room was clean and accessible, the location is ideally situated (super close to shops and restaurants, but quiet at night) and the staff could not have been nicer. Really nice stay.

Enjoyed our 4 night stay at the splendid. Found all staff that we came into contact with to be friendly and professional.
Our room was clean and comfortable and the view was beautiful.
I throughly enjoyed breakfast and loved the scrambled egg.
We did use the rooftop bar on a couple of occasions after an evening out and enjoyed the drinks and the service.

The hotel is very nice and has amazing views, do yourself a favor a book a room with a view it's so worth it. They provide complementary items, like shampoo, lotion, shaving kit & cream, body wash, waters and drinks. It's 4 min walking distance to the center of town close to shops and restaurants while still being a quite area and they have amazing service. A thousand percent recommended.

My stay at the Splendid Hotel in Taormina was absolutely wonderful. The location couldn’t be better - just a short walk to the town center and the cable car that takes you down to the sea. It’s the perfect base to explore everything Taormina has to offer.

What truly stood out, though, was how warm and welcoming the atmosphere was from the moment I arrived. The hotel has a charming, relaxing vibe, and the staff made me feel completely at home.

A special mention goes to Mohammed at the front desk, who was incredibly kind, professional, and always ready to help. Whether I needed directions, recommendations, or just a friendly conversation, Mohammed was consistently attentive and thoughtful. His hospitality made my stay even more enjoyable.

If you’re looking for a hotel with a great location and genuinely caring staff, the Splendid Hotel is a fantastic choice. I am already looking forward to my next visit!

I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights with my older teenage son at the end of June and we had a fantastic time. It's very well located with a 3 minute walk into Taormina town plus a cliff side setting with amazing views down to the sea, across to mainland Italy and the wider area around Taormina.

Our room was a bit of a squeeze but they accommodated our request for two single beds, rather than a double, and it came with a fabulous view of the sea. The air con was highly appreciated due to the high temperatures and the room met all our basic needs. It was slightly dated but did not spoil the enjoyment of our holiday plus the beds were very comfortable and we slept well.

Breakfast was included and was buffet-style which suited us perfectly. The staff were mainly very helpful and polite - Giuseppe on the pool bar was excellent, all the reception staff were super helpful and polite, plus Nancy in the dining room was always smiling and happy to make me fresh coffees in the morning! They all spoke good English which we were thankful for.

We ate at the hotel restaurant once while we there, it was empty apart from us but the food was delicious and the service was efficient and friendly.

I would happily stay at the Splendid hotel again, if I'm ever lucky enough to be back in Taormina, and would highly recommend it based on all the above plus the reasonable cost.

Hotel was stunning and well located about 5 minute walk from the main strip. under 10 minute walk to the cable cars to go down to beaches. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Parking was a 25 euros per night (closes at 8pm) but very convenient. They bring your car back and forth for you as needed right to the front door. Breakfast was delicious with spectacular views. Highly Recommend!

I am a solo female traveler and it was my first time to Siciiy and Taormina. My stay was absolutely wonderful. This hotel is in the best location, so safe for a solo woman, and that breakfast was best hotel breakfast I’ve ever had. I will be staying here everytime I come to Taormina. Staff was the best!

Great staff and service. It would be awesome if the hotel did not allow guests to smoke outside their balcony. The balconies are close to each other and you can only imagine how annoying it will be to breathe in that smoke as you are trying to enjoy your beautiful view of the ocean. Sadly, some tourists are not courteous.

Great view. It was possible to park in the big public parking garage and walk up the stairs in the back of the garage up to the hotel (if you are in shape, otherwise take the free bus). We found this useful. Also everything you want to see and do in Taormina is easy to walk to from this location.

These are old buildings and we understand the challenges.
The one person that made our stay perfect was Dario, at the hotel restaurant. Our dinners and breakfasts were perfect thanks to him. His customer service skills were outstanding.
The food was excellent. I found parking fees over priced, but oh well.

Beautiful views from hotel. Staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good, on 4th floor overlooking a lovely view.
We stayed two nights in November. The only two things that were somewhat frustrating was driving to the hotel. We followed Apple Maps and then changed to google.
It took a few trips around town. We opted to pay the 20 Euros extra per night to have valet parking.
The hotel room itself was fine but the walls paper thin! We could hear people in the hallway and others talking in rooms around. Not sure if that can be helped in any way.

I liked location and cleanness. I didn’t like that they didn’t have iron or steamer. I stayed in 9 hotels in 4 months and they all provided one or the other. Splendid said they don’t provide them due to safety reasons. A steamer is no danger. Also room 307 didn’t have not even one drawer for pj’s, t shirts, socks etc. Neither one of our reading night lights worked. Personnel was very friendly and helpful. Great breakfast awful load music for morning hours though.

We had a fantastic time at Hotel Splendid, with wonderful views of the sea. Staff were all helpful and professional.

It is in a great location, away from the main hassle and bustling tourist crowds, but with easy access to all the sights.
Also, on the Expedia website it states there is no lift at this hotel, this is wrong. There are 2 lifts all the way up to the 5th floor! This was very much welcomed as we were staying on tge 4th floor.

Taormina is a beautiful town steeped in culture and history, however the Splendid Hotel seems to miss all of that character and in some ways feels a little soulless. It has clearly been refurbished recently and has a modern feel, however when you look a little closer you see that most things are finished poorly - gaps around fixtures / fittings, warped floors, a shower which doesn’t really close properly (leading to a pretty significant leak) - but above all else, the hotel lacks any of the beauty of the town in which it is situated and is instead a sterile white cookie-cutter example of a hotel that could fit in literally anywhere in the world.

For some people that might actually be a positive, however Italy has so much to offer and so many hotels and B&Bs achieve the perfect balance of character and modernity.

We were encouraged to book a table in the rooftop restaurant as it is frequently full however when we arrived we were only the second couple. The food was ok, but not great value for money. The pool-side bar is also on the expensive side and they didn’t even have the facilities to make a real cappuccino. Additionally, the pool itself isn’t exactly big enough to host the significant number of guests the hotel can accomodate.

The breakfast buffet was actually a redeeming quality, ample selection both early and later in the morning, even if having a room directly next to the dining room meant we were woken up at 6:30am by the noise of preparations.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights and were very impressed with the hotel, especially for the price we paid! However, we were traveling in March which is considered the off season. Upon walking into the lobby we noticed right away how clean and fresh it smelt! We were blown away by our well renovated room with a view of the Mediteranean sea. The bed was very comfortable and the room was spacious. The included breakfast was delicious as well. The hotel is conveniently located and is walking distance from many restaurants and stores. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here!

Location is terrific, pool has amazing views & bar and snacks. A beautiful property, we did not receipt the room we had requested however I chose not to try to change rooms as we were at the end of our trip. Request a room 2nd floor and up, our 1st floor room was right on the stairs to go to the pool and we had people looking right in our room if the curtains were open and it was the only window… otherwise a nice hotel on the outskirts in a very busy city.

A great seemingly brand-new place with a fine restaurant and good location. Two quibbles though: 1) The breakfast set-up needs to be improved--the buffet is placed in an area that's too small. 2) The elevators are overburdened as guests and the excellent housekeeping staff have to compete for them. Very good service, friendly staff and hotel in a great location. Breakfast was really good and rich (+ it had tasty options for lactose intolerant people). Nice pool as well, which is a great plus in Taormina. Noise isolation of the room could be better, but it’s a minor thing and does not cause any sleeping troubles. Overall, excellent option!
