I didn’t use the bar or restaurant facilities however when I walk past them, it looks very well presented and the food that other guests were consuming looked very nice although maybe a bit pricey.

The hotel is old and tired, and really needs complete renovation. The carpets are threadbare, the bed sagged, the white plastic shower tap and extractor fan had gone yellow with age, the bathroom mirror was losing its silver backing, and the furniture was chipped and worn. There were no usable sockets near the bed - only old-style round pin lighting sockets.
On Saturday night you couldnt see the bar for all the dirty glasses, and tables were left uncleared for hours: just not enough staff to cope.
We ate in the restaurant on Saturday night: the food was ok, but somewhat uninspiring, and expensive for what it was.
Thirty years ago, this would have been a nice hotel, but it really needs a rethink.

This place was terrible. The bed had human dents in it and was not actually a king mattress but two singles put together. Not to mention it was older than myself I'd wager. The sheets and pillow cases were dirty and we asked that they were changed. That took nearly two hours.

There was no hot tub as was advertised which may seem trivial, but after two weeks of hiking Scotland were looking forward to soaking in a hot tub as was advertised.

The hotel is dated, and I mean dated. It felt like it may have been 4 stars in the 1970s, but this was no 4 star hotel.

The only redeeming quality of the stay was the front desk staff who were incredibly kind and did everything they could to make a horrible experience not so bad. We booked two nights and cancelled the second after hurting my back trying to sleep in the destroyed mattress. Unfortunately all I saw the staff doing was apologizing for the experience of the hotel.

Overall, Don't stay here. You can find far better for less money.

Down Grade not an upgrade

I arrived at 16.30 to be given a twin room when I had paid for a Double. I was told house keeping would change this to a double so I said I would go for something to eat while this is done. On my return this still hadn't been done. The receptionist said she would ask house keeping to do it straight away. At 19.30 I asked again how much longer, only to be told this couldn't be changed to a double. I was then offered another double which could have been done at 16.30 when I checked in not 3 hours later. Very poor.

The property is very dated actually and the room was not particularly appealing, albeit the mattress was comfortable, the whole place just looking a bit rundown and in need of some TLC especially around the tennis courts and the carpark / delivery area. The service in the restaurant was absolutely woeful; I don't think I've ever experienced worse table service anywhere. Just inexperience I guess and no leadership whatsoever. Disappointed with our stay.

What a fantastic place! The staff could not have been more kind and helpful! We arrived late back to the hotel after sightseeing only to find that the restaurant had already closed. They happily fixed us up a couple of sandwich plates. All the food we had here was exceptional. The pool and saunas were very nice and clean. A great treat after a long travel day.

Service could have been better.

Check in was smooth, the girl at the front desk was sweet. All information provided said to call to the front desk if you needed anything, but there was no phone in the room so this makes it impossible for overseas travellers who don’t have roaming to request anything from the front desk without having to walk there and ask in person.
All pillows in every room were feather, which I am allergic to. I didn’t think to request no feather pillows, as I have never encountered this scenario before. I went down to the front desk to inquire whether they had any non feather pillows. The gentleman working told me he would find some and bring them up for me. In the meantime, we set the pillows from our room out into the hallway. The pillows sat there in the hallway until after 10am the next morning (this is when we left for the day). We had no pillows for our first nights sleep. Not the end of the world, I know, but not the greatest service or comfort for your customers either. When we returned around 6 in the evening, the pillows in the hallway were gone, and finally there were non feather pillows in our room. Nearly a day, we had to wait on the non feather pillows. If we’d not been staying more than one night, I’d have never seen them at all. The pool and spa area, as well as the restaurant and bar area were all very nice. Water available (still or sparkling) by the tap on all floors. For ice you had to go to the bar. Mold in our tub/shower. No fridge in room. Housekeeping not great.

Extremely disappointed. The room was extremely dusty along the skirting boards it looked like it had not been vacumed properly for a long time. One of the curtains was completely ripped and falling apart, the carpet was threadbare in places. The wooden batn panel had paint peeling off it and was warped at the bottom. Overall this room was definitely nowhere near a 4 star standard and need urgent maintenance and deep cleaned! Very disappointed and underwhelming stay.

Spa great. Swimming lanes in the pool were useful as there a few children playing with a ball in the pool too.
Restaurant had a few GF options and staff seemed knowledgable. Food was of good quality. (Gf burger and chips and steak with chips and mushroom)
Room spotless although the shower (over a bath) leaked all over the floor!! Bed allowed a good nights sleep.

Nice hotel, the pool and steam room were very nice, plenty of parking and there is limited outdoor seating which is a big shame for summer months, but bar and restaurant are comfortable. Upgrading to better rooms may only get you robes and slippers, but for some people thats a worthwhile thing, and there are some bigger rooms too

Just underwhelming. Breakfast was horrible, food overpriced. Sausages dried up, eggs precooked...just horrible.

No phones in rooms, Qr codes used. Asked for warm/ hot milk for kid... was brought but freezing. Tried to call reception again 4 times no answer. Just not a 4 star hotel as advertised. Pool was also cold and room was over heated... just dont rush to hotel.

As seems to be a theme with MacDonald hotels, the experience doesn't match the price point. The staff couldn't be faulted. Polite, friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean enough but everything looks tired and shabby. Room was a great size but bed hard and uncomfortable. No fridge in room and if you want functioning WiFi you have to pay extra which seems an absolute joke for over £120 a night. Didn't eat at the restaurant as the reviews weren't good. A cup of coffee is over £5. Impossible to contact reception from the room. Would not recommend.

Less than warm welcome. The beds were from 1940 and dipped in the centre. The put up beds for the children were filthy. The view was tennis courts that were falling apart with rubbish all over. The walls were disgusting and the shower pressure was so bad it was hardly worth using. The entire property needs reinvestment. Definately not is advertised.

Largest but worst bed I've slept in, had to double over the duvet and sleep on top of it to reduce discomfort. Lots of distant traffic noise through window so couldn't open it but no air-con so room was stuffy. staff pushing trolley outside ground floor room very early. Although property looks nice from the outside, inside has seen much better days, needs a big update. Disappointed.

Satisfactory stay and very content overall. The room (deluxe double) was adequate and decent. One of the particular standout features was Elemis toiletries throughout the hotel - this is such a small, but fantastic touch and a noticeable feature. The gym and spa also a highlight of the hotel and very much enjoyed using those facilities. Had an initial look round shortly after arriving - it was a bit busy so went back later on in the evening and it was much quieter, perfect! Only little niggle I experienced was with the shaving kit- it was pleasantly provided in an Elemis box but the razor itself was useless! The shave kit needs sorting out because it's not fit for purpose. This was the only downside to my stay as the crap razor - which surely couldn't have been manufactured by Elemis despite the box it was in - trebled my usual shave time which was annoying and a bit of an inconvenience. Apart from that, full marks all round- the staff were also friendly, upbeat and energetic on any interaction and very quick to take care of requests, which is excellent. Would recommend and will return at some point.

A great place to relax and enjoy Falkirk

A lovely hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food is really delicious; there's a good variety and serving staff could not be friendlier. We had a great spa experience, made even better by the very attentive and courteous staff and lovely facilites.

Would definitely recommend considering this hotel if visiting Falkirk. Its gorgeous surroundings and position close to local attractions makes it a fantastic opportunity to relax and enjoy your trip.

We had a big large room which suited our needs. I loved the thick blackout curtains and I slept well. There was a wedding at the hotel but didn’t hear anything. The rooms were quiet and restful.

The menu was very expensive (our rate did not include breakfast) so we chose to eat in town. We got taxis as didn’t arrive by car and it’s quite far from main towns/travel stations.

The spa area was lovely but they only gave one medium sized towel, which really was only appropriate for my long thick hair and even when I asked they would not give me another towel. Reception staff were lovely and friendly.
