Everything I might have wanted was there, clean, and a good layout within the space. Easy and friendly reception. The bathroom had class toiletries and a hand-held / rain shower option. The kitchen has an induction hob and microwave and every manner of kitchenware, plus a varied basket of foodstuffs for breakfast. The lighting options were good, from bright to low level multicoloured mood setting. The two sets of stairs linking the three levels of the apartment needed care, but strip lights at foot level ensured visibility.

The location was great, quiet but just two minutes walk from the venue that was the reason for my stay. Another two minutes led to the Palace and the adjacent church, and there multiple ways to reach the loch at all times. A near level 2.3 mile / 3.7 km path will take you round.

The room was great - really spacious and beautifully decorated. The shower was really good and the bed and pillows extremely comfortable. The bed being on a mezzanine level, with a separate living area made it feel like a home from home. The wee food basket is a great touch .

Excellent apartments - spotlessly clean and modern decor . Split level accommodation with courtyard outside. Very nice for in the summer. Bed was comfy. Shower was great. Nice touch with the continental breakfast.
Owner was amazing . Willing to spend the time to chat , which made the check-in experience nice. Very knowledgeable of the properties history( old court house) and the local area. Genuinely friendly and helpful.
Very central to lots of coffee shops, pubs and dining facilities. Not far from the Loch and Linlithgow Palace
Private car parking right outside.
Would definitely recommend these apartments and stay again . 5 🌟

I had a wonderful stay and was genuinely impressed with the room. It was spotless, spacious, and beautifully maintained, with a comfortable bed that made it easy to relax after a long day. The room was quiet, well-lit, and thoughtfully laid out, with plenty of storage and convenient amenities. I especially appreciated the clean bathroom and strong water pressure in the shower. From its perfect location for exploring the area to the exceptional cleanliness and attention to detail, everything exceeded expectations. The daily replenished breakfast basket was a lovely touch, and the building’s character—including the rooms—made the stay truly special (my 14-year-old daughter absolutely loved it!).
Having a car park and easy access to frequent train services to Edinburgh, Stirling, and Falkirk added convenience and enhanced the overall experience. Highly recommended!

Great location in the heart of Linlithgow

Hotel location was perfectly located in the middle of downtown. A close walk to the palace and several restaurants and pubs.

Room was a bit sterile. The bed was uncomfortable and temperature control was a bit of an issue. WI-FI signal was pretty weak.

However, I would recommend this place as the location was great.

Such cool history behind the hotel. We were able to leave the car on site for the day and take the train into Edinburgh, the Linlithgow Palace was right across the street! The room was plenty comfy, very clean and stocked well. The staff was extremely friendly, I would absolutely stay there again!

I liked having the kitchen area with a fridge, microwave and dishwasher. The free standing fan came in very handy as it was very hot when I visited. As a solo traveller I felt very safe and found it very quiet. Handy to have shops and restaurants nearby. Great to have free parking right at the front of the building.

Great conversion of the old Sheriff Courts

We really appreciated the thoughtful conversion of this former Sheriff Courts building into several high quality apartments. Right in the centre of Linlithgow across from the Palace, everything is on-hand and there’s convenient on-site parking too. Our Executive suite was a large bright room with high ceilings and all mod cons. The only disappointment was probably the ‘basket breakfast’ which we felt could have been a bit more inviting, given the room price. In the middle of July, when there’s so many fab summer fruits in season, apples and bananas were a bit dull. As was the standard loaf and little packets of cereal. I’ve stayed at B&Bs with more interesting offerings. A second niggle was the bed sheets that didn’t quite fit the beds. Odd and annoying when they constantly slip down during the night to reveal the mattress protector. I didn’t feel they were the best quality cotton for the price charged either.

This is a wonderful, historic building with great amenities, friendly staff, and a reasonable price. There is a well-stocked kitchenette because there is no restaurant onsite, but there are also several restaurants within a short walking distance. Several significant historic sites are also within walking distance.

We had a wonderful stay at Court Residence. The owner/host was very welcoming and friendly upon our arrival. Our room was very clean, nicely furnished, nice amenities. The hotel had provided in-room breakfast items that were extremely helpful and convenient! The train station is just a very short walk from the hotel. Linlithgow Palace and the town square are almost across the street. There were some nice little pubs and restaurants right within walking distance. Overall, we had a wonderful stay. We would highly recommend them!

As a contractor, the court residence ticks every box. The whole property was clean and very modern. Finished to a very good standard. The large powerful shower was amazing and very good after a cold days work.

So the hotel itself was very cute, staff was friendly enough, the room we had was run down and not as clean as I expected from the reviews I’d seen! The room configuration was so strange, the bedroom upstairs is what we chose to use because it had the bathroom! What we didn’t know is the bathroom door wouldn’t shut from the outside and the lights where on sensors, so anytime anyone wanted to use the bathroom in the night the light would come on as wake you up! The sensor would stay on too, so the light was on forever after! They do not provide wash cloths, idk if that’s cultural or something! They did provide hair dryer, room fan, and a couple places in town delivered dinner which was nice for a night in, which was not advertised!
All in all, not terrible, not great either!

The old Linlithgow Court House has been expertly repurposed into a very nice residence hotel with a very high level of fit and finish! Our room was large, airy, bright and came with all the amenities one would expect The host Jim is very helpful and friendly. The kitchen in the room came complete with eggs, milk, juice, butter and various breakfast foods and snacks! We very much enjoyed our stay.

This place looks like it is…an old court house with some mismatched furniture thrown about. The hot water was so hot, it will melt your skin. The shower was too hot because there was little to no cold water feeding in. There is not someone on the property 24/7, so don’t need anything later than 10:00! The carpet looked stained and the kitchen area is so tiny, it’s impossible to maneuver.
The room is hot from the electrics, the hot showers that heat up every space and the heated towel bar, but thankfully you can open a window.
There was no extra bedding. A heavy down comforter is all, which is not acceptable in a non-air conditioned room in July! The bed was okay but the pillows were lumps of hard matter that hurt your ears!

It was close to shops, restaurants and the train station. It is very reasonably priced and Edinburgh is just a 29 minute train ride away. They stock your kitchen with eggs, milk, bread, cereals, fruit bowl, coffes and teas. They replenish anything you've used each morning. If you need anything, all you must do is ask. Friendly and informative management.
