There was no airport shuttle before 9 am and we left too early for breakfast. Taxi to airport was 40$ even though it's close by. Television took two people to fix over an hour. Hotel was very dark. People were nice and helpful with adapters. It was quiet.

The room was very clean and the hotel does have a restaurant and a pub area. We had burgers in the pub area and they were very good. My only complaint would be that this hotel does not offer an airport shuttle on the weekends.

The perfect lowkey stay before my flight out of EDI the next morning. When my transfer failed to arrive and I couldn’t get an Uber, the front desk staff kindly arranged a last minute shuttle for me to the airport and I was so thankful.

What a fabulous hotel, we visited for my husbands 50th Birthday it was a surprise, I had great communication before we went including booking the shuttle and a table for dinner. We were given a complimentary upgrade which totally made the stay and a lovely note and chocolate left from

I booked Dakota Edinburgh for my two daughters while they were visiting their brother and before heading to BIQ to begin the Camino. Their stay was excellent. The hotel was comfortable, stylish, and welcoming, and the staff were extremely helpful throughout their visit.
Although breakfast was not included, it was absolutely worth every penny. Overall, it was a wonderful stay and gave me great peace of mind knowing they were well looked after. I would happily recommend Dakota Edinburgh and would book again.

The Dakota Hotel was conveniently located for a 1 night stay in Edinburgh before we headed out to St. Andrews for a golf trip. The rate was very reasonable and the food & service was good .I will not hesitate to return to this hotel on my next visit to Edinburgh

Nice modern room, great shower, king bed was a Scotland king, equivalent of a US queen. The mattress was hard, no pillow topper, could have used a couple. In addition the room was advertised as having A/C, however, it did not work. I called the front desk and they said they would try to lower the temp for me…it also did not work. The top of the window opens but very little air comes in and lots of noise. I specifically booked this hotel because of the A/C. Great staff and restaurant. Also very nice free driving service to airport and back.

The main reason we booked was because of the airport shuttle. Upon our arrival on Friday with a Sunday departure, we were told it was not available that weekend. The hotel's write-up on Expedia should be much clearer to let travellers know they MUST book the shuttle 3 days in advance or it may be unavailable.

This hotel is branded as affordable luxury, and it really lives up to that. It is in the affordable price range that we are usually in, and is decidedly more luxurious than what we usually experience. The staff is super helpful, friendly, and accommodating. The room was very comfortable and chic. The lobby and restaurant are extremely stylish. My only complaint is that the hotel is listed as having a free airport shuttle. However, the shuttle operates on limited hours during the week, and is not available at all on weekends. We were leaving on a Saturday, and needed to get to the airport. There is a train, but it is a 25 minute walk to the station. Our flight was early, so we took a taxi. It cost 32 pounds. That made the affordable luxury a bit less affordable. It really should be listed as free airport shuttle with limited hours. It is only after you book that you are instructed to contact the hotel about reserving the shuttle, which you do have to do in advance. However, the hotel is still very very nice, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The Dakota was a great location for us because we were golfing and it is a quick exit out of town. The breakfast was good and the staff were great. It is located near very near a bus stop for a 45 min ride into Inverness to save on parking and right down the hill is Old Town where we ate dinner several nights, great restaurants. The rooms were pretty small for six nights and golf clubs, beds were pretty firms and the gym was tiny. It would be better for shorter stays but we enjoyed our time there.

Wish I was staying more nights at the Dakota. Will def check it out again when I am in Edinburgh. Everything about the hotel was top notch. Molton Brown toiletries, yummy cookies and tea/coffee, linen exceptional, front desk and all staff courteous and helpful. I didn't use the restaurant or bar but it looked posh. The best thing is, if you need to get to or from the airport, they have a pickup and drop off service. Make sure you walk down into Queensferry (10 minutes from the hotel). It's beautiful with lovely restaurants and shops as well as history and a view that is not to be missed. Also the lovely shaggy dog statue as you arrive in the hotel warmed my heart. Being a dog lover it was welcoming and whimsical.

Don’t advertise shuttle service to the Edinburgh Airport! The service has a limited time frame, only to 2pm and doesn’t run on weekends. I chose the Dakota bc it advertised a shuttle. Another irked customer complained to the receptionist as well and was told the “shuttle isn’t even available most days.” So I was out 2x£50 bc of your misleading “amenity.” The receptionist blamed it on Expedia, saying they put it on their app. Ridiculous. Just take it off your list of amenities!

Beautiful hotel, but nowhere I see that airport shuttle is only offered from Monday through Friday, that wasn't cool. Sink clogged, they sent someone to fix, coffee machine broken. Wouldn't stay here again.

Free shuttle to the airport which is also very close by. Restaurant is good but prices to do not include VAT or service charge so you meal will be 30% more than you may have been expecting. Room was spacious, almost luxuriously so, no effort made to provide a pleasant outdoor space. Staff are very nice!
