The accommodation itself was in excellent place and had a wide parking area so no stress to find reliable places to park car over night. The rooms were clean, staff was excellent and breakfast had a lot of variety and selections with healthy options and was able to take breakfast away too. Arrived early to park the car up and go to Edinburgh. The said the room was ready and could check in which was great so managed to drop the bags off in the room. Staff were really friendly, hats of to the staff working the breakfast shift as was so busy. Breakfast offering was great lot of variety. I would advise to avoid arriving lateish (9am) as was so busy, this reflected with having to wait for some items to be made and bought out, as was really busy some products hurried (e.g croissants not fully cooked) and brought out before fully ready. Overall good location and good amenities.

Good location, a short walk from a shopping plaza. Reasonable breakfast buffet choices.

Basic square rooms with not a lot of space or amenities. Only a single chair was present in a family room for 4 occupants. A strong chemical smell was present on initial entry, likely a recent cleanup. The windows were shut solid, so we could not vent the room, had to keep the door open for several hours. The A/C is noisy and inefficient.

The front desk staff were very nice and polite. They gave me the discount code to park in their lot, and it was easy to pay and to use the code online.
The bathroom sink was slow draining and I let them know at checkout time.
I ate dinner in the restaurant, but was very disappointed that the Chicken Tiki Masala that I ordered literally only gave me 5 little nuggets of chicken. For the seventeen pounds that it cost, the hotel should have at least given a full chicken filet, instead of all rice and bread.

We liked the fact that the bus to the city center was across the street. There was a shopping area within walking distance with a Lidl, for our snacks, etc. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. The room was spacious.

The room was lovely and modern if a bit small. No drawers or dresser to unpack your suitcase and very little space to lay your suitcase flat, also no mini fridge in the room. Other than that the breakfast and bar were delicious, transportation right outside the door and a grocery store within a few minutes walk. Staff were always kind and helpful. Shower was nice and no issues with water or pressure.

Our room was very comfortable and the welcome pack was much appreciated. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good and fully stocked even though the hotel was busy. Really liked the addition of a pancake machine. Air conditioning was fine and it was nice to be able to open the windows too. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Reception were really nice but they couldn’t find our booking. Managed to get us a room but was right beside the elevator so very loud throughout the night and morning with cleaners. Stains all over the floors not great when ur paying £440 a room

Dirty hotel room.

Stayed 3 nights our room was awful, carpets/bed sides/chair all badly stained...bath plug broken...no sink plug...turned the air conditioning on the 2nd night it smelled so bad we turned it off couldnt sleep in the room and had to change rooms too a tiny standard double room...which was also unclean.

Experience about my recent stay

I don’t expect the washroom that Hotel Holiday Inn is providing in £200 a day. I have better washroom at home. Especially , the shower was terrible.

The breakfast was good. The room was also clean but there was no chair, table, drawer, fridge or wardrobe in the room.

I won’t recommend this hotel in this price. I personally feel that the room and services do not worth £200.

They gave us room which was on construction zone and different floors. We went to room and the entire floor was being repaired. We had to have major discussion to give us new room but still on the different floor. One of the room never had phone to call for the Service and on other they did but no body picked up. The rooms were too small no view a weird size table without any chair. The window was broken. If we open, it tilted on one side and we had to call some staff to close it and could never open again. Holiday inn has lost its charm.

Smelled from mould on windowsills and bathroom, blocked drain, stained towels, peeling paint, big brown stains on carpet, bed sheets not on properly over mattress, needed to request towels. Beds were comfy. Breakfast and dinner were nice, though no staff in attendance one morning so there were empty containers etc.

The staff at the hotel were really friendly. Everyone I interacted with were very polite and helpful. The room was a little small and the bathroom, although clearly recently updated, didn't have good ventilation and there was a smell during my stay. Additionally the aircon in the room didn't work and it was surprisingly warm for Scotland! I was staying for work so the room/bathroom wasn't really an issue for me this time but if I was staying for leisure/longer I would have raised these with the hotel directly.
The pleasant nature of all the staff members more than made up for it!

This hotel is a 1/2 hour walk from city centre. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was great. The shower wouldn’t drain properly, they sent someone to put something down to clear it. It still didn’t drain properly so you had short showers or overflows. The room itself is tiny. Thankfully we didn’t have to spend much time in it.

Great hotel to stay

Lovely hotel about 4 miles from city center. Bus stop across the street gets you there in 10 minutes for 2.4 pounds. Room was comfortable breakfast was amazing wasn’t expecting it to be that extensive. Staff were so accommodating. Shout out to Colin- you’re the best❤️ great place to make home base. Would definitely stay there again.

10 min drive to the new town. Bus stop outside the hotel or £10 uber ride. Friendly staff, nice bar and nice city view room. Only downfalls were the breakfast room could have been cleaner - there were breadcrumbs all over the floor around our table from previous guests. Also for a double/twin room an extra chair in the room would have been nice. Overall though it's a good hotel for the price and I would stay again :)

Very friendly staff throughout our stay. The breakfast had a good variety of items and all was a good quality. I found the bed a bit hard. We were in room 406 and there a was a bit of an odour from drain of shower. All in all it was a good experience.

Staying for a few nights whilst my bathroom is being renovated. Excellent facilities and friendly, helpful staff. Only issue was the shower, not particularly powerful and the temperature control was temperamental. But overall very satisfied and going to stay again for a few nights.
