This was a convenient hotel that was reasonably well appointed. Rooms were fine and quite comfortable. The challenge for us was the variable degrees of hostility of staff on desk. When we arrived on Friday 24th April night, one almost felt like one was troubling the surly staff. And I'm sorry to say, if we don't want breakfast, we don't want it. Continuing to mention it will almost make us double down. Check out was wonderful. A lovely, friendly young man helped us. He put our bags away, to pick up later. When we called back, late 26th afternoon to pick them up, the young lady was lovely. However, we witnessed others checking in & there eas clearly more surliness and hostility. It doesn't take much to be pleasant. Do better, folks.

The breakfast was fresh with an extensive choice but didn't cater particularly well for vegetarians (both of us are) with no veggie sausages/ haggis/ bacon.

They do not have a loading and unloading zone like most hotels, which makes getting your suitcases in and out of the hotel difficult and the parking spots are so narrow that even my compact car had trouble opening the doors on both sides to get in and out of the car. The staff was not helpful with this and overall were unable to answer my questions in a way that made sense. Worst of all, after a long day of traveling I was looking forward to getting into the hot tub but, unlike most hotels I've stayed at, this one closes their hot tub at 9pm and doesn't let anyone in past 8pm. So, I never got to use the hot tub because I couldn't get back to the hotel and into the hot tub or pool by 8pm after eating dinner. The amenities are useless if they aren't available during the times most people want them.

We stayed one night. We hung out in the lobby because we were a group of seven and had bought pizza for dinner. It was busy, clean and very pleasant. There were quite a few people there; both families visiting the zoo or vacationing and business people. We did not use the pool or hot tub but it looked clean and inviting.

We had the hot breakfast in the morning and it was good. The variety of options was enough that everyone got what they wanted. The place was very busy, but everything was kept neat and tidy. The staff did not allow the dirty teaspoons and trash from empty sugar packets and used tea bags to mess up the coffee area and there were always plates, cups and items replenished before they ran out. I was impressed because the turnover of guests was high. A server graciously gave me a to go cup when I went for a second coffee and realized I had no time to enjoy it.

The staff were all kind and respectful. The place is old but things are kept up and neat. I enjoyed the stay.

The place is about 15 mins from the airport and near in Oldtown, just ride 1 bus to get there. The only problem we experienced is no bath curtain and no instruction how to turn on the shower.

The hotel is dated but despite this is very comfortable and very clean the staff are very pleasant and helpful our room was a good size although the bathroom was very small we could not both fit in at one time so tooth brushing was
done separately. The breakfast was plently to choose from with a quality coffee and quality fruit all the hot food was hot and quickly replenish

Had a really lovely stay here. The hotel is beautiful inside and everything was spotless, which made it feel extra comfortable. The food was also delicious, with plenty of choice and great quality. The pool and spa were amazing — such a relaxing experience. Would definitely recommend staff were really friendly and very helpful. !

The restaurant at night was a bit of shambles, although both the tables next to me had hour long waits, my own meal came fairly quickly.

Food and facilities were great. The poor review I'm giving is all related to housekeeping. When we arrived thd room was clean and nothing to say, next day it was only semi cleaned, beds were all messy, room not hoovered and coffee/tea not replenished, we decided to not say anything, giving the benefit of the doubt. Next day, we left in the morning, leaving the hanging paper to clean the room on the door but when came back at 4.30pm the room was not done. They forgot to clean it...after this, we just asked for fresh towels and toilet rolls, there was no point anymore. All in all good hotel with great facilities but just lack of supervision in housekeeping in my opinion.

This hotel is a great location for touring Edinburgh. If you have a car the parking is easy. There is also a public bus stop right outside the hotel. Our family stayed for three nights. We just parked the car for the whole time and then caught the #26 bus to Prince Street which from there it was easy to walk around and catch a hop on/off bus. We did the City Sight Seeing Bus and used the Green/Blue/Red Routes to get everywhere we needed to be.
The breakfast was great. I would recommend waiting to pay for it there as there are two different choices of hot or cold continental.
Great for families.

Clean room. However, 3 of us were booked, 3 of us stayed yet we had to keep asking for more towels as only 2 were given each day. The 11 year old had the sofa bed which was sloping and sunk at both the top and bottom and unbearable to sleep on so he slept with the mattress on the floor. Not exactly the comfortable stay we paid for. When mentioned to reception all we got was “sorry about that”. No one could possible sleep on the sofa bed so be mindful when booking more than 2 in a room.
The pool is smaller than the pics in the website and my son who was looking forward to swimming never had room to swim as it was always busy. I feel the numbers should be limited for this.
The staff were friendly otherwise.

The hotel was clean, modern and a great stay overall. We enjoyed the pool and sauna, however the pool area felt quite small considering the amount of families there during the easter holidays. We dined in the restaurant and had lovely food and decided to add on breakfast for the next morning, but it ended up being very busy for breakfast that it was not enjoyable and quite chaotic. The TV set up in the room was great, massive tv, with your normal tv channels as well as netflix and a cast option which is unusual in most hotels, allowing us more options to watch! Great location next to the zoo as that was why we were visiting Edinburgh.

Our stay at the hotel was just as anticipated. The location is perfect if you are a tourist hungry for exploration. It is right next to the zoo (Ideal if you are coming with children) and has a bus stop which leads to all the central attractions such as Old Town and The Castle. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. The breakfast consists of a wide variety of foods, and great if you have a large appetite. The beds were comfy, and overall we had a great stay!

Bath was not cleaned properly when arrived with rust and mould on it. One of the towels was dirty. Swimming pool is not opened during the time, which is shown on site and closed 1 hour earlier, sauna swithed off 2 hours earlier, than should be. Girls in spa are not friendly at all. Very disappointing, as this hotel was choosen because of the spa mainly. Very limited parking space, which is not mentioned on site at all. Should park on ZOO parking most of the time, which is not free.

Lovely Chinese restaurant across the road but be sure to book as it is very popular, room was ok but could do with updating. Bed was comfortable. Restaurant tried to charge more for breakfast than the reception told us on arrival so beware that it’s cheaper to pay for breakfast at reception

The bar area is really nice and big and the one downside is that it is impossible to sit in it with music so loud that you can't hear yourself think. I decided not to eat there because of the music.

We came for a 4 day mini break to Edinburgh. The hotel is next door to Edinburgh Zoo.

Catch the 100 Airport bus, Stand A: it is about 15minutes by bus to the hotel. To go to Princes Street in the city centre bus 26/31 is right outside the hotel & about a 15minutes trip. An Open day ticket for bus/tram £6pp.

The hotel is very convenient with excellent very friendly helpful staff, without exception! Rooms are clean & airy. Food is excellent. Breakfasts £12.50 if booked the day before, £16 on the day otherwise.

There is a gym, pool, jacuzzi & sauna. Towels are provided. This area is spotless. We used all var the gym, which looked well equipped.

Position wise it is very accessible for the city centre, airport, zoo & Murrayfield.

We were delighted with our choice of hotel & would definitely return here if we come to Edinburgh again.
