Only one thing I would say, the hotel put food on for returning concert guests, £9 for half a pizza is outrageous apart from that everything was as expected.

This place was way too expensive for what they offer. The rooms are small and not clean. The carpets are extremely dirty and old. The rooms are very outdated. The location is not too bad - a 15 min bus ride to princess street and next to the zoo. The worst part was the hotel restaurant. We saw the staff eating from the open buffet with their hands as they work, the man who was maintaining the buffet constantly picked up the bread and similar food by his hand and put it back. The food was really horrible, we felt like eating from an indian street food shop. The corridors looked like a mental hospital. The back side entrance had an horrid smell like rotten dead animal, very strong.

Our experience was lovely in the pool and room service was great, but when we moved the couch to set up the bed for our toddler, we found a huge amount of old puke in multiple places including under the toddler bed we were using. We had someone come to the room to check and he was fantastic (thanks so much for your help Kyle!) however we were told we couldn’t move rooms because the hotel was fully booked, we were then given a breakfast voucher and 20% off of our dinner that we had in the room, but we weren’t able to have our baby crawl around the room and couldn’t let our toddler go anywhere near it because of how disgusting the floor was. So the breakfast and a few dollars off of our meal wasn’t really a solution that we felt was fair after spending as much as we did on the room and the meal.

The location is right next door to the zoo, so is perfect, there are bus stops just outside as well so can get into the city centre via public transport with ease. The view is spectacular.
The room is very nice.

The receipt staff could not be anymore helpful, Kyle inpaticular is a credit to the hotel. Would definitely stay here again.

The bath tub / shower was difficult to get into because of the tub height. We were not told how to use the shower diverter at check in.
After we called the front desk they provided instructions on to use it.
The buffet breakfast was very hearty but the scrambled eggs were crumbly.
There were signs about the hot water but to avoid a potential mishap it would have prudent to say something at check in.

Le breakfast n’est pas de qualité et n’est pas à la hauteur du prix.
Par ailleurs, la nuit du 30 au 31 mai 2026, nous avions commandé un breakfast donc payé. Cependant notre avion était à 7h45 donc nous avons demandé à la réception un remboursement car le service du breakfast ouvre à 06h30 et il nous etait impossible de le prendre. Cela nous a été refusé. Le matin du 31 la réception nous a remis un breakfast à emporter. J’ai découvert une bouteille d’eau de 50 cl sans étiquette et déjà ouverte inscrit dessus prob.
Ce n’est pas acceptable pour une prestation d’un grand établissement comme le votre et surtout les mesures d’hygiène ne sont pas respectées !!!!
J’ai une photo de la bouteille si vous le souhaitez.
En conséquence, Je demande le remboursement du breakfast ou bien un geste commercial de votre part.

Perfect spot for Edinburgh zoo, which is right on the doorstep. We had time for a morning swim before heading to the zoo for opening time. Pool was lovely and quiet. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room service was excellent. Breakfast was varied and restaurant was very pleasant.

The room was definitely dated and there were three of us in the room and housekeeping only ever left two towels. We had to ask for extra a few times and toilet paper. The best part of this property is the restaurant. Great food and nice staff although on the slow side and not too attentive to guests. Several times we had to find a waiter. It was also hopping with bus tour groups so super busy in the evening. Good for a short stay.

Located right next to the Edinburgh Zoo - which is convenient. And after 2 pm - you get a 50% discount at the Zoo by showing your room key. Closer to airport.
Room was small but fine. Breakfast was good. Lots of families, but it was not loud in the overnight hours. The restaurant - expensive and the burger was over cooked. They don't ask you if you have a discount card. Bar service was weak. Fairly expensive.

All the staff were very friendly & helpful, our room was clean & spacious apart from the bathroom which we found was quite small for a room for 4 guests.
We also didn’t have any internet in our room when i rang down to reception I was told there was a fault which they were trying to fix, internet worked in the communal area’s 🤔
Breakfast was lovely plenty of choice both hot & cold options, we had dinner in the hotel which was also lovely & our granddaughter ate free.

Nice enough place if you’re staying for a few nights. Easy connection to the main shopping places and airport. Breakfast was pretty good! It’s literally right next to the zoo which is an amazing place, deffo worth a visit! A few things to note: no fridge or safe in the rooms, which to be fair it didn’t say they had, that was me assuming but worth mentioning for others. Main minor grumble was only one towel for me and the wife but mostly that there was no toilet brush which was a bit grim - ended up contorting the shower head into the bog and blasting it. Other than that yeah not too bad.

Rooms weren’t cleaned properly, floor was full of crumbs, all our furniture in the room was dirty and scribbled with a permanent marker. Room was super noisy and we kept hearing doors banging overnight, hallway carpets and other room doors were poorly maintained, Definitely not worth the money. Can’t say much about amenities since we didn’t used any. Staff was friendly and attentive.

I want to leave feedback regarding the customer service experience at the Holiday Inn, specifically near the Starbucks area.

First, I do want to acknowledge that there were two Indian women working in the Starbucks area who were very kind, respectful, and professional. They treated customers with courtesy, and I appreciated their positive attitude.

However, the manager with white hair overseeing that area had an extremely rude and dismissive attitude. I felt completely unwelcome during the interaction. Her behavior toward me came across as irritated, cold, and disrespectful.

What made the situation more upsetting was noticing the difference in how she interacted with other customers. I observed her smiling and being pleasant with white guests, while her attitude toward me as a Black customer felt noticeably different and dismissive. Whether intentional or not, that is how the interaction came across to me, and it left a very negative impression.

Customer service should be respectful and professional toward everyone. Unfortunately, the behavior from that manager reflected poorly on the hotel experience overall.

Room was small but cozy. Staff kept my medicine refrigerated for me during my stay as there are no refrigerators in room. Parking was easy in the upper lot. We had a light lunch there, food was good and the prices weren’t elevated too much (except a Diet Pepsi is like $5 usd a bottle). Shower operation was ok once they explained how to use the control. Temperature control worked well and the hvac was quiet. In general, the entire hotel was quiet with no traffic noise. Registration desk staff were very friendly and helpful.

Not a 4 star standard of service or rooms. Not fully accessible to the road and buses etc. Staff extremely variable. Some friendly and efficient others disinterested and don’t deliver.
For example empty handed staff walk down corridors littered with ice buckets plates etc and do nothing about it for hours.
If you are going to use TV for all coms and info at least leave a single sheet to guide & help direct clients to it and ensure the tv remote works.
Fun being woken up by Gibbons in adjacent zoo but possibly not everyone’s idea of a wake up call.
Beware coach tour groups who block lifts and corridors. Parking is a lottery with limited hotel parking but zoo paid parking available on site. Well connected to buses to city centre but no shops or eateries close by.

The room was perfect, comfortable, clean, brilliant view. Hotel is in a safe, scenic, convenient area, staff were absolutely brilliant and a great help, Daniel in specific was the first one I was greeted by and helped by greatly, immediately felt well catered for and he helped us with everything, he made us feel very at home and was greeted by him very charmingly coming in and out with no fail. Breakfast was always top notch every morning with no complaints. Other than that, I don’t have any complaints, enjoyed my stay very much and would love to come back again someday.
Ps. Daniel was amazing and even just seeing him during my stay filled me with joy as he radiated such great and positive energy, such a wonderful gentleman.

A wonderful convenient property to the airport, restaurants and the zoo. The rooms are great the bathroom was our favorite. Wonderful water pressure and clean. Parking is quite difficult, expect to squeeze in and out. Front desk were great, there was one staff member who looked to be a manager. She was rude and condescending. She hovered over the staff with horrible comments and facial expressions, making the staff and customers very uncomfortable. Besides that experience and the parking situation, we had a wonderful night at this hotel. I definitely recommend.

This was a convenient hotel that was reasonably well appointed. Rooms were fine and quite comfortable. The challenge for us was the variable degrees of hostility of staff on desk. When we arrived on Friday 24th April night, one almost felt like one was troubling the surly staff. And I'm sorry to say, if we don't want breakfast, we don't want it. Continuing to mention it will almost make us double down. Check out was wonderful. A lovely, friendly young man helped us. He put our bags away, to pick up later. When we called back, late 26th afternoon to pick them up, the young lady was lovely. However, we witnessed others checking in & there eas clearly more surliness and hostility. It doesn't take much to be pleasant. Do better, folks.

They do not have a loading and unloading zone like most hotels, which makes getting your suitcases in and out of the hotel difficult and the parking spots are so narrow that even my compact car had trouble opening the doors on both sides to get in and out of the car. The staff was not helpful with this and overall were unable to answer my questions in a way that made sense. Worst of all, after a long day of traveling I was looking forward to getting into the hot tub but, unlike most hotels I've stayed at, this one closes their hot tub at 9pm and doesn't let anyone in past 8pm. So, I never got to use the hot tub because I couldn't get back to the hotel and into the hot tub or pool by 8pm after eating dinner. The amenities are useless if they aren't available during the times most people want them.

We stayed one night. We hung out in the lobby because we were a group of seven and had bought pizza for dinner. It was busy, clean and very pleasant. There were quite a few people there; both families visiting the zoo or vacationing and business people. We did not use the pool or hot tub but it looked clean and inviting.

We had the hot breakfast in the morning and it was good. The variety of options was enough that everyone got what they wanted. The place was very busy, but everything was kept neat and tidy. The staff did not allow the dirty teaspoons and trash from empty sugar packets and used tea bags to mess up the coffee area and there were always plates, cups and items replenished before they ran out. I was impressed because the turnover of guests was high. A server graciously gave me a to go cup when I went for a second coffee and realized I had no time to enjoy it.

The staff were all kind and respectful. The place is old but things are kept up and neat. I enjoyed the stay.
