Perfect location. Close to train stations , trams and amenities . Staff were so friendly and even when service was not provided by the hotel they were so destined to guide us where to go for that service

Good location right outside station and near bus and trams. Hotel is not too bad the rooms were nice but they were rather stuffy and hot despite the air con saying it was 18 which impacted our sleep. The area near the door where the air con unit is was lovely and cool but not the rest of the room.

Beds were comfortable and the rooms had everything we needed. Liked the Dove toiletries. I was unaware I had booked a room without a window which added to the temperature of the room.

Breakfast was ok nothing too major just your standard cooked breakfast, yoghurts, pastries, cereals and some fruit.

Overall the hotel is not to bad for what I paid.

The hotel is perfectly located in front of the Haymarket Train station, with access to train, tram, buses, supermarkets, restaurants. Our room was very small, with a comfortable bed and well soundproofed.

The shower was tiny and therefore hard the get in and out of. Not enough plugs. The hallway floor was dirty. The breakfast wasn’t very good. An elevator was broken while we were there and the staff was using the one we used. They didn’t give us the option of using the elevator first and it took a very long time while we waited for them to finish. I liked the front desk area set up. Very nice.

Really well places hotel just 2 stops from princes street on the tram. We had a room without a window on our first night but it just wasn’t for us and we asked to move. The staff were so helpful and moved our room for the second night. The reception has tea and coffee available for free and a range of snacks and drinks to buy. The rooms were small but comfortable. Special mention to Ryan who seems to never go home but that meant he was on hand to help us with our requests.

Very small room, but it suited me as a solo traveler. Carpet in hallway was disgustingly stained. Google Maps directed me to the back of the building housekeeping entrance. Lots of noise in the morning at the back of the building from what sounded like recycle pickup.

In general this was a great place to stay. Right across the street from Train station, buses and tram with good options for dining nearby. The room, while small was very nice and comfortable except for the bed which was made of some kind of material that left me sweaty by the middle of the night. Weird.
Also, I am a senior solo traveler and the stairs from the entrance to the reception desk where very steep and there was no alternative i.e elevator or ramp to use for accessibility when pulling a suitcase. I didn't try the breakfast but the 24 hour coffee and tea were real good quality and piping hot.

It was more expensive than I wanted but the proximity to all the public travel options was a huge plus for me. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. I would stay there again

We had a cosy room with a window thank God or it would have been unbearable. Our room in Kyoto was a palace compared to this room.
The pillows were like stones and that was the smallest full size bed I’ve ever seen.
No coffee or water in the room, no safe again the room was so small not sure where you would put them
Convenient to the train station is about it.

The staff were very friendly and happy to help. Brilliant location, right next to the Haymarket train and tram stations. Good links for buses and taxis too. Platform 5 pub attached to the hotel is very good, pleasant atmosphere, food and drinks. The room could have been a bit cleaner, in particular the floors. The duvet was incredibly thick, coupled with the fact the windows were screwed shut and the air conditioning would only go to a minimum of 20 degrees, it made for quite a warm night.

Room and shower room are compact - enough room to move about (I was on my own with a smaller sized bag; 2 and large suitcases would feel right ) - so there would be no swinging of cats. Sufficient for an overnight stay.
Booked a windowless room as it was only for 1 night. Didn’t bother me, the curtain gave the impression of a window. Obviously no clue how bright or dry the day was (but then it is Edinburgh!). 2nd stay in 6 months (windowed room wasn’t much bigger). Convenient for Haymarket station, trams and buses.

In general the stay at the hotel was fine. We book a bedroom without window and the AC wasn’t working (I think they had some issues with that because it was a men trying to fix it - at least that was what the staff told me) so the room was like a sauna. The staff was really helpful and kind. Unfortunately the issue didn’t change and after a few hours we ask again to the staff about the AC. And we change the room, same thing was happening but we call to the receptionist and then she told us that the issue shouldn’t continue. At the end the AC wasn’t properly working I don’t know if it because there was no window in the room and/or if the issue was happening as the staff told us. It shouldn’t be needed calling the reception to to turn on the AC as they should be turn on by default. The shower towels were not “fluffy” as usual and there was no toilet brush in the bathroom.
The carpets in the corridor for the rooms really need a deep clean, as they were quite dirty.
They let us leave our luggage before the check in and after the check out.

The room seemed smaller than the photos and was pretty much just a bed, two small nightstands and a shelf. And the glass door leading to the compact bathroom leaves little to the imagination. A man had lost his CC Card and we found it leaving us to believe that they did not give the room a proper cleaning. But overall it was a pleasant stay.

Great location, restaurants nearby are pretty good, close enough to the touristy spots a nice walk can get you there but removed enough to not be in the middle of it all. The rooms are updated, bathrooms might need an update but i was surprised with the hotel overall.

Its a conveniently located gotel across from Haymarket station. The stff were kind and helpful. Th rooms are small butvery clean and the beds are comfortable. I rhink it wad a bit overpriced but ot wad Easter weekend and near o city cemter so it's to be somwhat expected. My wife and I would stay here again.

Lovely staff. Good location near the centre.
Mattress protector was covered in blood. We had to ask for it to be changed. Not just a spot almost a murder scene. Repeatedly requested another duvet as two of us were sharing a double bed staff kept saying yes but one never materialised . Surely an establishment of this size should have a spare duvet. The room we were given was absolutely freezing with a gale blowing through the window just at head height as you lay in bed and as the room was so small there was no way of moving away from this. we had a terrible night sleep. We were removed to a twin room which was more acceptable and we could at least move around. The ‘cosy’ rooms are very, very small. Tea and coffee making facilities are in the foyer but the coffee had always run out and the hot water would always run out so it wasn’t really very satisfactory. The staff are trying their best, but they can’t really check people in and be constantly refilling coffee. I cannot recommend this hotel and I would never stay there again.

The main entrance is fresh and modern with excellent and friendly staff. Free filter coffee and tea available at all times.

Room was very clean however, the bed was small, rock hard with uncomfortable pillows. Having hard floors also meant the room was quite loud.

Can't beat the location but, expected more for the price.

The only criticism I have is at the official address is in the rear. So when we first arrived, our Apple Maps app sent us up the street down a side alley to the rear door. Other than that service was good, the pub connected to the lobby was excellent. Just a great experience.

Great hotel and very convenient. The reception staff are excellent. They all without exception are helpful, generous and kind.
The room was lovely but we missed not having a kettle from which to fill our hot water bottles!!!!! There is still only one lift working and other maintenance issues. Breakfast is in a bar with tvs everywhere and was ok but no really healthy options eg unsweetened yogurt, porridge, seeds, etc which I’d expect for the price we paid. But very central and warm. Will return.

Only problem was seal on window wasnt great so could hear qind whistling and traffic noise. Black out blind also had a tear which let in light too early.

I had a be try good stay. The room is small but it’s very clean, all amenities are available if needed. The staff are very friendly and proactively make sure you have everything you need. They truly care about their guests. The location is very central and close to all tourist attractions and to the rail and tram station. Highly recommended.

Edinburgh hotel prices are notoriously expensive and poor value in my opinion after 50 years of staying there - but this was an exception.
February meant a comfy stay for 54 quid for my wife & I.
The price and location were the clinchers - the AirPort Express bus stop is right outside the hotel entrance and so is the tram stop.
Haymarket rail station is right across the street.
So is Ryries - one of the Scottish capital’s historic pubs - others are on the hotel’s doorstep, including its own Platform 5 bar n restaurant.
Princes St is just along the road and the Royal Mile & castle are not far either.
Stairs up to reception are a hassle with heavy luggage but our receptionist was good at her job & welcoming.
Her offer of a room upgrade was a surprise - so instead of a windowless room we got a view of the car park - hardly the majestic castle but better than a blank wall.
Our room was small for two with carryon luggage - so cramped with bigger suitcases no doubt, although there is storage under the bed.
The double bed mattress was remarkably good and we had a sound night’s sleep which is top result for any hotel.
As others have mentioned, the lack of a kettle to make a cuppa is a glaring omission - I’d rather have that than the complimentary hairdryer.
Late checkout was complimentary with my IHG points.
Skipped breakfast in the hotel cos an Italian cafe almost next door does super omelette rolls and all sorts of other goodies.
A highly enjoyable stay in every way.

Room was clean, small - but well enough kitted out for a short stay … I wouldn’t want to stay for more than a couple of nights though !! My room was next to the main door to the lifts - every time someone opened or closed it the whole room shook !! That’s the only reason it is a 4 and not a 5

Great location, very nice staff.
We did leave the tag on the door knob one day for our room to be cleaned. When we came back, our room wasn’t touched. We told the front desk about it, they sent someone but all they did was make the bed with the same sheets.
Besides this, our stay was still good.
