I was quite disappointed with my stay. While the hotel’s policy states that rooms are only cleaned and rubbish removed on request, this creates an experience that feels more like staying in an Airbnb than a hotel. For the price being charged, I would expect basic housekeeping, such as emptying bins and making the bed, to be part of the daily service rather than something guests have to ask for.

The breakfast was another letdown. The selection was extremely limited, and much of the food was cold, making it poor value and not a great way to start the day.

I was also surprised to find there wasn’t even a kettle in the room. Having tea or coffee-making facilities is something I consider a basic expectation in a hotel.

Overall, the experience didn’t reflect the price paid. With better housekeeping, improved breakfast quality, and simple in-room amenities, this hotel could offer much better value. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I wouldn’t choose to stay here again

The staff were excellent. Bed was extremely comfortable. One issue, our room was not \"refreshed\" (new towels trash emptied)when requested. Alisa took care of it personally. She was great. Lobby bar music was a too loud to have a beer, relax with friends. When requested, night staff turned it down to a reasonable level.

The room was very clean and comfortable. All those small this does have air-conditioning nice shower, nice room lighting and the windows had appropriate light blocking shades - which for anyone in the US who is not used to a 1030 or 11 o’clock summer sunset, those were so valuable.

The breakfast is extra but if you’re planning to get up and get out earlier than the local coffee shops open around 8:00 or 9:00, then worth it!

The staff was super lovely. We even had our room ready a bit early and while they understandably can’t guarantee that each time we were so thankful and blessed to be able to crash after a very, very long flight.

If you’re in the US, this is one or two steps above nicer Holiday Inn.

Lovely clean and well maintained hotel . The staff were friendly however, we were situated in an underground room with no windows. The room was a similar size to a ferry cabin. You couldn’t swing a cat in the room. Your space for your clothes was a peg on a wall with one coat hanger. Ours was a one night stay and we couldn’t get out quick enough in the morning. I’d hate to think I was staying for more than one night. The bed was tight against the wall so you had to climb over each other and for the price of £200 I’d consider the Point A hotel a joke. Never again would I stay there and it should not be on your web site. Someone from yourselves should go and try it.

Want hostel sized living spaces but hotel prices? So small it was almost a humiliation ritual- you didn't have room to open your suitcase then walk past it to the bathroom. Bathroom smelled like mold, and you had to cut your own key when you arrived?

They should have a self-enforced price cap on this place so they're not putting people through peak pricing for this abomination of a hospitality experience.

Just because you can make the smallest room physically possible doesn't mean you should. I work in the hotel industry and this gives us all a bad name. Shame on this brand

The staff are fantastic and breakfast was yummy! The room is TINY with absolutely nowhere to put anything. The bathroom is so small that even a small person barely has enough room to move. It would be impossible for anyone with mobility challenges to use the bathroom.

I wish they had more in room amenities such as coffee, ice and iron. That being said anything you needed the staff was readily available and happy to help. It was extremely close to where I wanted to visit and everything is within a 10-15 minute walk. I’ll definitely be staying here when I visit again next year.

Staff friendly on arrival. Had to do self check in even though staff were there watching. Room clean although lacking in basic amenities. No kettle/tea/coffee or bottled water. Room clean and a good size (comfy twin with view) but for the price paid it was missing the small details. Breakfast was very basic (continental). Would I stay again? Probably not for that price.

Good. Modern, stylish hotel. Easy Wi-Fi. Friendly, helpful staff. Effective air conditioning. Good shower and bright lighting in bathroom.

Bad. Style over substance - light switches take some getting used to. Hanging arrangement looks interesting but doesn’t work that well. We stayed in June when it was a bit chilly outside but the duvets were thick enough for arctic conditions so we didn’t sleep well.
No kettle in room - the first hotel without after 10 days touring Scotland.

No US or EU outlets. Only UK and a couple of USB drive outlets. Normally, the USB outlets should be good for changing, however there was a documentary that came out a year or two ago as a warning that hackers install malicious software directly onto the charging USB ports and after seeing that, I refrain from using them. My room was tiny. Great for a single person thats there on a business trip, but not for someone that's bringing a large 32in luggage.There is absolutely no place/space to open it, other than on the bed directly. I think that should be part of the room description. I love the touch \"do not disturb\" button. It lights out on the outside and it's much better than the old cardboard/plastic door handle signs.

My stay at this hotel was perfect!! Hotel lobby and room were so clean and comfortable. The location was perfect, total walking distance to all the best local attractions. All walks said they were much further than they actually were so this really felt very centrally located. Staff was very kind and attentive.

This location was in a great spot. However, we booked it since it had air conditioning…which did not work while we were there, and they had a bit of a heat wave that week. We had a fan, but there was not a great place to put it due to the cramped size and very limited table top space. Overall, it was a good stay.

Our twin bed room with window was tiny but very clean, wonderful shower. We did not purchase the breakfast for 13 pounds each, instead found coffee shop 2 blocks away with nice breakfast for 7.5 pounds. Location was a bit far walk from royal mile & Prince Street, but several buses nearby to take us to farther locations in Edinburgh. Front desk staff was very helpful & very nice. Several small groceries within few blocks of Point A Hotel.

Worst place I have stayed during my 10 months of travelling!

Firstly the room;
It was the size of a shoe box, we had to open our luggage in the hallway just to re pack. We couldn’t close the bathroom door because there was not enough space to move! The water pressure was none existent.

The hallways;
Towels and cleaning supplies were everywhere and the hallways absolutely stunk of chemicals we actually got sick from the constant inhalation.

Room cleaning and ammenities;
Your room is only cleaned once every 3/4 days upon request. The room has no amenities or kettle anywhere aside from a few in built shampoo and soap bottles that were empty.

Windows;
We paid more for a room with windows only to get window that was so tiny. we had to push the bed over if we wanted the window open without hitting ourselves with it.

Rude manager - name tag Mint;
She was short tempered, rude mannered, lacked social skills. We had recently stayed in the Paddington point A and had a voucher for our next visit including free breakfast and a % off our stay, when explaining that we had lost it during our 5 weeks away could they check their system for the breakfast she was blunt and aggressive raising her voice saying we should have booked directly through their website for this and it was our fault and we would get no compensation. Fair enough but disappointing for a large chain and we could do without the attitude.

Unfortunately we will no longer stay at a point a hotel Don’t recommend!

You won't be able to swing it.
Would be good for an overnight stay with a small bag but if you have a suitcase you will need to open it on the bed then close and stand it up against the door.
Parking in the Qpark (closest) by was not very convenient and difficult to get into for someone used to driving on the other side of the road.

An overall excellent stay in a handily-located hotel in the city centre. The staff were polite, friendly and helpful to a person and a credit to themselves and the hotel. The room wasn’t huge but had everything I needed for a two night stay. The air con worked marvellously, as did the blackout curtains. I appreciated having light switches over the bed as well as copious plug sockets. However, the breakfast was simply not good enough for a hotel at this price point. A Premier Inn or a Travelodge would have a cooked breakfast and toast available. This hotel had neither; the only cereal on offer was muesli or cornflakes. There were a variety of yoghurts and granolas but very little variety in fruit and veg. The coffee was subpar - barely better than powdered instant. A deeply disappointing aspect of an otherwise perfectly pleasant stay.

Decent breakfast.
Staff stood out for me as they were all lovely. Great balance between professional and friendly.
Particular shout out to Roberta who went above and beyond. I left my kindle in the room. I called the hotel when I got home and realised. Roberta was extremely helpful and called me back within 10 mins to advise they had found my kindle.
We made a special journey to Edinburgh a couple of days later and Roberta returned my kindle and even offered my wife and I a complimentary cup of coffee, which was very much appreciated.
Excellent customer service, which really stood out as it is sadly lacking in lots of places these days.
Thank you very much Roberta and Point A Hotel. I will definitely be back. ♥️

Perfect for a close hop to the airport. Room was small but very clean and well equipped. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Great food and a couple of fun bars close by. Added bonus of having a convenience store right across the street and there is a Tesco's within walking distance.

Everything needed for an overnight stay was provided. Comfortable bed, if a little soft for us.
I found the room atmosphere dry, needed a humidifier.
Didn’t have breakfast but it all looked fresh.
Staff very attentive and helpful.
All in all a very good stay .

PROS: Clean, neat, staff are amazing, literally impossible to get closer to the convention center.

CONS: Tiny rooms, no storage.

DETAILS:

I travel a lot and in my experience most people are pretty nice, but I don't think I've ever encountered hotel staff as unbelievably kind, cheerful, and welcoming as this. Some of it is Scotland (almost everyone I interacted with was just so sweet), but even then. The staff welcomed me, found me a room early because I was so jetlagged, helped me with my self-inflicted power problems, fed me coffee, and generally made me sorry to have to check out.

Otherwise, this is a standard European budget hotel. Everything is quite minimalist, but well maintained, bright, and clean. The rooms are super tiny and the \"workspace\" is pretty unusable, but the lobby is 24/7 and has lots of power and comfortable seats. My only real problem is that there's essentially no place to unpack stuff; you're living out of a suitcase.

Overall, I would stay again in a heartbeat.
