The room had a few issues which would not have been able to be resolved overnight. It didn’t spoil our stay though. One out of the two members of staff as we were checking out was understanding and reasonable. It was a comfortable apartment in a good location. If issues were resolved, we’d stay there again.

The apartment was in a great location in a safe neighbourhood, about 15 mins walk to the castle. Staff were very lovely and accomodating. The hotel could have supplied washing tablets but other than that we very much enjoyed our stay.

I love the apartment feel. The place was a bit more secluded which I wanted, but you could walk to transportation or to the city center. I like to cook my own meals so this was perfect. The supermarket was in walking distance, an added plus. The staff was so accommodating and the place was immaculate.

Cons: bathroom shower arrangement is interesting, there's a floor mop in place to move all the water into the drain. Whenever you shower the water goes to the whole bathroom including the toilet and sink area. I suppose it is for wheelchair accessibility but a hassle to mop the entire floor each time after showering and is still wet and slippery which is quite dangerous.

We stayed at Staycity Edinburgh West End for two nights (3 persons) and overall had a very pleasant experience. The location is great, close enough to walk to the city centre, with a supermarket just around the corner, which was really convenient.
The apartment itself was spacious and well heated, which was definitely appreciated at this time of year. The sofa bed was adequate for our needs and check-in was smooth and friendly. The 24/7 reception is handy.
One thing that could be improved is the cleanliness of the bathroom. The bathtub was a bit dirty, which was disappointing considering the rest of the apartment was fine.
We used the luggage lockers after checkout and the process was easy. For £5 a day, the locker fit all four of our hand luggage bags comfortably, which was very useful.
Overall, a comfortable stay with great location and helpful staff just wish the bathroom was cleaned a bit better.

The room was overall a good value for what you got. Having a kitchen was nice. The beds are extremely hard with two small pillows, the what comes from floor and is hard to control to find a good temp. There is way too much mold in the bathroom. It would take minutes to clean out but has been overlooked too many times.

I love the staycity branch. I did not like that they didnt have Air conditioning in Edinburgh. It gets hot in a crowded room and the fans did not help.

The staff was helpful. They were all amazing.

After staying in Dublin at a higher end Staycity, this was a bit of a let down. Dublin had breakfast, and a bar that closed at midnight. In Edinburgh you are on your own.

This is not a wheelchair safe space. The shower for handicapped is outdated. If tou can't walk, tou can't shower.

Overall I loved my room, but it was not a good fit for my family.

Location is good. You can walk to many of the city's sites within 10-15 min. The space was nice and the kitchen had everything you one would need. However, we paid for the cleaning service, but it seemed to only include bed making and towel service.

Well, there are no stoppers on the doors. Once you open the door it closes and it makes a very loud sound ,so if someone goes to use the restroom at night, the other people lose their sleep .I paid close to $500 for this room there were only two sets of towels. I had to go down to get more towels. I have stayed in stay city hotels in London Heidelberg. This stay was the worst.The staff was not obnoxious, but not friendly either. I made the reservation and my flight was canceled. I asked for the refund they refused to pay me citing some hotel policy. I have not seen anyone in any industry that swallows your money and do not provide the services. It’s like the surgeon charging you for gallbladder removal and does not remove the gallbladder. Something needs to be done about this horrible business practice the grand theft of these companies. people trying to accumulate money by stealing lying and cheating, and there is no control over this industry.

Clean, and in a great location with a 15 - 20 minute stroll to main attractions.

I used this as a base when taking part in the Edinburgh Half Marathon and the location was great for strolling to the start area.

The apartment itself is very well furnished with everything expected from a self catering apartment for up to a week.

Despite being central Edinburgh it is still relatively expensive and additional fees for parking or late checkout bump the overall cost even more.

The apartment itself was baking hot due to what I think was underfloor heating in the corridor and there is no option within the apartment to change the thermostat setting.

Additionally the small freezer section in my apartment was completely over-iced and the door could not close as the catch was broken. It needs defrosting and in this current state is totally unusable which wasn't a problem for a 2 night stay, but would be an issue if staying longer.

Average stay.

Booked for a family overnighter, asked for 2 single sofa beds as have teenage sons but did not receive confirmation of this prior to stay even though asked twice. It was a double sofa which transformed into 2 single beds with a small gap between-might have been useful for this to have been explained.
On arrival the apartment was very warm and so had to air it. Upon trying to open the balcony window/door it was very stiff and did not run smoothly - was very difficult to close.
Kitchen appeared to have all amenities although we did not use them as ate out.
The bathroom had a stained floor and chipped unsightly wall areas. The shower was slow to heat up and the half shower screen made it difficult not to get water outside of it. It was powerful though. The sink blocked easily as water was running.
The bedroom window did not close properly and along with constant noise from above (we were top floor) very little sleep was had, it was a windy night.
There were stains on the back of the living room curtain although the overall cleanliness was ok. TV seemed to work ok.
Carpark seemed secure (underground) but was not the easiest to gain access to. Had to find somewhere to park to go to reception for the code. Might have been better to have been given the code prior to arrival. Also the buzzer for allowing into the carpark was on the exit side?
Overall, average stay-could have been better for the price we paid.

Having the kitchen and separate bathroom is convenient when staying for more than 2 nights. However, the kitchen counter in our room is damaged and the freezer door doesn’t close properly. Also no housekeeping unless you stay for 7 nights or more. Nice to have own washing machine even though it takes forever to do one load. It’s a bit far to the Princess Street and still need to walk to bus stations so, not convenient for people who have difficulty walking. We however, walked everywhere within the city without issues.

Perfect for attending the Fringe Festival

All exactly as anticipated. Very pricey due to it being the Edinburgh Festival but that is to be expected unfortunately. Overall it was well located and very spacious. It was great to have the kitchenette facilities which was handy for grabbing a quick breakfast before going out and viewing back to back shows and performances. It certainly ticked all our boxes!

Our stay was truly wonderful. The staff were all quite friendly and helpful and the included amenities made us feel as if we were at home. Our unit had everything we could have wanted, from included wifi to luxurious bed linens, a clothes washer/dryer, a fully-stocked kitchen with dishwasher (even including dishwasher tablets and washing-up liquid), large soaking bathtub with a rainfall shower head plus a handheld nozzle, and blackout curtains that were very welcome for the long days of June in Scotland. They even had umbrella rentals in the main lobby. It was our first time in Scotland and the staff offered plenty of assistance and advice. We were in town for just a handful of days for the Eras Tour but, thanks to our central location, we were able to see just about all of the sites we wanted to. We were a short walk to the Haymarket tram stop, multiple grocery stores, restaurants, cafes, and shops. A leisurely 20-minute walk east brought us to Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile, and the same distance in the opposite direction brought us to Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium. I have already started planning our next trip to Edinburgh and we will definitely be staying here again. I honestly cannot recommend Staycity Aparthotels in the West End enough.

Construction, cigarette smoke, and a broken shower

I'll start with the positive. The employees at this hotel were very kind and tried their best to solve the issues we had. And the issues were plenty.

When we arrived, we got off the elevator on our floor to find a construction zone. Unassembled furniture, cans of paint, and plastic tarps on the floor everywhere. It is bad business to rent out the one room on a floor that is almost completely under construction. Not only that, but there we workers hanging around in the hall doing work early in the morning and throughout the day and they were SMOKING CIGARETTES in the hall. The smoke got into our room. We were given the excuse that they were \"external contractors\" and not employees of the hotel so nothing could be done. Give me a break.

The next issue was the shower. The only temperature that would come out of the showerhead was scalding hot. The temperature knob didn't change it at all. After multiple attempts at fixing it, one employee was able to turn down the boiler to lower the highest temperature for all the rooms. Three days in a hotel and none of us were able to shower is unacceptable.

Maybe it was good that we couldn't shower because it was an accessible room and water went everywhere if you tried to turn the shower on. A slippery safety hazard.

If you do have a reservation make sure you are not given a room in a construction zone!

The location was great: an easy bus ride to attractions that were further away and only a 15 minute walk to Prince's Street Gardens. Tesco and coffee shops just around the corner. Staff were very helpful too.

Check in was easy. Our flight arrived at 7am and we were able to lock our luggage away until our room was ready. We were party of 5 adults. Apartment was spacious and clean and modern. Only item we needed more of was toilet paper which we easily got asking at front desk. Staff were nice and helpful with any questions we had. Location great…easy walk to restaurants and 15-20 minute walk to the castle. We would stay here again.

Only con is the all in one washer dryer unit. There was no setting to wash and dry separately. Used the setting for the least drying cycle to hang up clothes but some of our clothes shrunk!
