Clean, and great amenities (pool, gym, and restaurant)
Roxana at fron desk made it very easy, and provided me with a conversion plug from US to that weird british plug.

15 minutes from the airport and 20 minutes to the Edinburgh city centre by tram, really convenient. There are Tesco and Aldi in just 5 minutes walk. Friendly staff. Spacy room with a funny toilet door. Lots of charging plugs. Powerful shower with good drainage.

Expensive parking add on. The gym and spa left a little to be desired. The cold shower for after the saunas was not functional. The changerooms were co-ed only which made us a little uncomfortable. I feel like not enough space for privacy was available. As well as you had to pay for locker use. Not a bad stay pre flight as very close to airport but felt like was over priced

We spent one night on our way to the airport. Two things to note: the hotel is right beside a very busy train track. If you are a light sleeper, then you should absolutely bring earplugs.

Secondly, it costs 15 pounds to park overnight as the car park is privately operated. It's the first time I experience that, and given the price we paid for the hotel for one night I found it usurious. It is also not disclosed until after you book.

This hotel is probably better situated for a tourist stay in Edinburgh than many of the hotels downtown. There is a tram station right next to the hotel and it takes only 15 minutes to get to the middle of Edinburgh. It might take longer to walk there even if you stay close to centre town.

Perfect hotel for my one week stayed in Edinburgh. Two minutes walk to Tram Station to get to downtown. I had a car for my trips outside the city and I was able to park in the Hotel. The cost was 10 pounds per day. The breakfast is the best part and is excellent. The staff and the cleanliness are superior.
I will stay again in this hotel again, is an excellent value.

The sofa bed had wooden slats but 2 of them were hanging on the ground so I had to fix them before anyone could sleep on it. We arrived 2 hours early and asked if our room was ready. We were told that we would have to pay for an early check in. This is the only hotel that has ever asked for payment for an early check in. We already paid quite a lot for a 3 night stay. We were not prepared to pay more.

Only a ten minute train journey in to the city and also trams running every 7 minutes. well located off the motorway too perfect hotel for exploring Edinburgh but not being right in the centre of everything.

The room was clean and functional. I wouldn't say it was over characteristic just a simple hotel room. The room had a bath and a shower which was nice! The breakfast was good; there was always a selection of different foods, from cooked to Continental. The pool was warm; however, the jacuzzi jets weren't on (couldn't work out how to turn them on) but the steam room was lovely and had a pepperminty smell. Overall, lovely and would stay again!

The tea coffe were not added. Just the towels were restocked.

We loved our stay at Novotel in Scotland. It was only 15-20 minutes away from the downtown city center and the Scotrail was right outside the hotel. If you are travelling to another city and need to take the train that was also easily accessible. The breakfast was delicious with a lot of different options. I would definitely stay at Novotel again on my next visit.

Very clean hotel with large rooms. The breakfast is excellent and the staff are very helpful. The swimming pool is not that big but it is still good. There are plenty of towels outside the entrance to the mixed changing rooms. There are two small changing rooms inside this area and lockers. The lockers require a £1 coin deposit for the key lock. The hotel is situated right next to the tramline for access to the city centre / airport, the transcripts 200m from hotel entrance.

The hotel was ok but not great. The bed was ridiculously uncomfortable (really hard), the restaurant prices were quite steep for portions at dinner (although breakfast was good). The pool facilities were really poor. Two changing rooms, two showers and one toilet for all guests to share - communal areas for all. It was constantly hectic and squashed. Not ideal. Car parking was extra. All in all ok but I wouldn't go back.

Stayed in a room with twin beds. Room was clean and new. Quiet at night, slept well, good shower. Good breakfast-eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, cold cuts, cheese, breads, fruit and juices. Walking distance to Edinburgh Tram. Front desk staff would not give us a late check out by one hour. Very annoying male breakfast worker moved us from the our table. We initially sat at a table for 2, but moved because a man sat nearby that had doused himself with a bottle of cologne. We moved to a table for 6 further away. The male worker said we could not sit there because it was for six people. The room was half empty and never filled more than half full the entire time we ate breakfast. He grabbed my plate of food and moved it to a table for 2. He wore no gloves. This upset me because he was removing other dirty dishes from the tables. I did not eat any of the food on the plate he touched. Instead, I returned to the buffet and filled a plate with new food. The next day, we sat at a table for 2 for breakfast. My husband left a half filled plate while he went to the buffet for something he forgot. The same man tried to take his plate and mine even though I was still eating food from it?! I yelled at him to leave us alone. Also, both days we ate there, he literally ran around the room trying to take plates from people. Also, I used the hotel lobby bathroom just before leaving. It had a strong floral scent causing me to cough and sneeze. Stop polluting the air.

Breakfast was very hectic and the host very stressed, bordering on rude. The layout didn’t help when it was very busy. However, waiting on staff were quick to replenish food and look after everyone.
Swimming pool could have used an attendant to refill the shampoo and keep floor a bit drier but our children loved it.

I chose well, the hotel has a fantastic staff (and I would like to thank Daniela in reception for going the extra mile for us), the room was very nice and very clean, the location is great because you have everything around you and the tram took us from the airport straight there, I’m from there we could go to the centre of Edinburgh for £2.80 each. The Ubers are also very cheap. The swimming pool, the steam room and the sauna were really good, the food at the hotel was also pretty good. I do recommend this place, without any need doubt.

Stayed here for two nights after previous stays several years ago and I wasn't disappointed. The staff on the front desk were very welcoming and this continued at the bar and in the restaurant. The room was spacious and clean and the bed very comfortable. Small things like a heated bathroom mirror that doesn't steam up after you have a shower make the difference. Great food in the restaurant and a good choice at breakfast too. Sitting right on the tram line makes it convenient to the airport and Edinburgh city centre and there are shops close by for essentials. I would highly recommend this hotel.

I have stayed in this hotel on a previous occasion so I am aware it is a bit out of the centre of Edinburgh but the tram stop is a 5 minute walk and is 15 minutes tram ride into Edinburgh. I did find the hotel bedding and pillows to be quite low quality, but it is a more budget hotel. Apparently there was a lot of young people staying from Cheerleader competition and there was a lot of them running around. I had to call reception at midnight to complain about the noise. Very disappointed that Novotel no longer provides free parking for guests but now charges £15 per night. It is cheaper to book directly through the parking company \"Your Parking Space\".

Room and facilities were very nice, particularly for the price. However with the exception of the front desk agents who were professional and courteous, the rest of the staff were average at best. The level of cleanliness in our room seemed to depend day to day on who was working, while the restaurant staff varied from polite indifference to borderline rude. Apparently you get what you pay for, and nothing more.

One of your Breakfast colleagues sai we could buy a coffee frrom the bar and drink it there as we didnt want a full breakfast. We found this to be very kind and helpful. Your other staff member told us THREE times that we were actually not meant to do that and that only people who bought full breakfast had access... unneccesary and not our fault...

Everything was great once the room issue had been sorted. I had had confirmation that the room would have a shower and not a shower over the bath, I then double checked upon check in and was told yes it was a walk in shower only to get up there with my luggage and disabled husband to see it was a bath with a shower which resulted in us going back down to reception and having to change rooms.
