We stayed in room 421. Lots of stairs sadly the lift only goes to the floor below. There was a cinema room that we discovered by chance. We had a big room to ourselves to watch a giant tv while sitting on bean bags. Breakfast was lovely. Plenty choice.
Staff were all lovely. We attended the “wedding Fayre” disappointed that it was only a room set up to show what it would look like. I thought there would have been lots of vendors there to show Case their goods. So disappointed. Went to the spa it was lovely. Water was a lovely temperature.
Had a couple of cocktails in the bar. Delish! Expensive but delicious

We had a wonderful stay at Dalmahoy Hotel & Country Club. The property is beautiful and peaceful, the room was spotless and very comfortable, and the staff was consistently friendly and professional. The bar staff at the hotel were especially warm and welcoming, which made our evenings even more enjoyable. The surroundings and amenities made it a truly relaxing experience. We would absolutely stay here again.

Great hotel on a breathtaking property. Amazing breakfast, professional and friendly staff, endless entertaining amenities, just to name a few highlights.

5 minute walk to bus that takes you to the city in ~25 minutes, ~ £4 round trip.

The hotel itself is nice but the rooms need updated. There was mold in the bathroom and the heating system needs updated if radiator was on the room was like a sauna. If it was off then it was freezing. Need new heating/air con put in. Breakfast was ok but we have stayed at this hotel many times before and it has been much better. We were down for 8am both morning and both times they ran out of things that early in the morning. Also not much variety for a 5 star breakfast again was much better the times I have stayed before.

On arrival there was lots of parking places and it was well signposted . Check in was great. The room was spotless and well located. It was very clean, spotless white bedding, mini bar, safe, hairdryer etc. the bathroom was very clean however the bath was small and took ages to fill. The room was quiet We ate each in the cocktail bar which was the service was excellent and the food and drink first class. Lots of comfy chairs too.

Breakfast was good on the first morning however on the second morning signs were up warning of queues of breakfast was taken 8-930. Consequently we went to the Portland restaurant at 0940 and the queue to get in was significant so we went back to our room for 15 minutes . When we returned to the restaurant the queue to enter was even longer and we had to wait at least 15 minutes to enter. Some residents left without breakfast.The staff had put tea coffee and pastries out for the ‘queue’ however I do not drink tea or coffee so there was nothing suitable for me. On finally entering the restaurant there were lots of empty tables, some piled with dirty plates and staff were scurrying about. I ordered 2 fried eggs over - and waited an age . When they arrived they were not turned over so I asked for more. The same ones came back within minutes, cold and inedible. We were told by the staff there was a lot if sickness. We complained to the manager and breakfast was refunded but the experience ruined an otherwise perfect stay.

The room although clean and comfortable had a n issue with the heating. The radiator and pipes made a rattling noise all night. Possibly air lock in the pipes. It made for a very disturbed night. Not in anyway restful.
The staff at reception and in the bar and restaurant were very attentive and friendly.
Menu; a good selection of food, well presented and cooked. Very enjoyable.

The room was nice and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable, I had two good nights sleep. The meals I had, one at the brassiere and the other in the à la cart restaurant, was perhaps a bit over complicated and nouveau cuisine however was nice.
There was plenty of choice at the buffet style breakfast which was nice but nothing to rave

We stayed Jan 5-7th so a quieter time of year which was nice. The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. The pool was a bonus. Kids enjoyed it and water was warm. Had dinner at the Brasserie and really enjoyed it. The staff was excellent and the food was tasty. The breakfast buffet was wonderful. Highly recommend adding it on during your stay. Lots of parking, wildlife and good location. Bus available into the city centre. We would definitely return! 2 adults & 3 young children - 2 connecting rooms.

It’s huge , with a great gym , pool and championship golf course . The first day we caught the x27 bus into Edinburgh it took about 30mins and the next day we drove in and parked £27 for the day .

Loads of parking at the hotel , rooms are nice and big with ironing boards , kettles , fridge and hair dryers . The staff were great . We had someone snoring next door and the staff moved our room straight away .

Breakfast … take note of the advice on busy times , it’s right . Earlier walk straight in , later a bit of a queue , but worth the wait .

The food was fantastic.

I have stayed there on many ocassions with my family and it is great value for money and it's an easy bus ride (30 mins) into the heart of Edinburgh.
Stayed over for 2 nights and spent a day in Edinburgh at the Christmas markets.

If you are looking for a quiet spot outside the city with a swimming pool , amazing views and some homely luxury , with a Scottish Castle feeling then this is where to stay.

Room was lovely, spotless apart from the many ceiling and wall cobwebs! Single beds were made very uncomfortable by the mattress toppers folded over the edges which gave way when sat on to get in/out of bed. Turning in bed also awkward. A single bed made to look bigger isnt clever nor was it comfortable. One bed sheet had several streaks on it that looked like they came from a machine so we didnt complain. Room had disability items in bathroom but wasnt a disability room which was strange. Breakfast was very disappointing for a 4*. Fruit had been sitting in water ( tasted like) for a long time- melon and pineapple were waterlogged and unpleasant. sausages were cheap quality, mushrooms, tomatoes barely cooked, bacon overcooked and hard. Staff, without exception were top notch, particularly in the breakfast room. Waited a long time to have a stay here and it did not meet expectations of a lesser starred hotel.very dissapointing

We arrived after midnight due to traffic chaos but staff were waiting & very friendly & helpful. Hotel is beautifully decorated for Christmas & very cosy.
Breakfast is plentiful & delicious especially the haggis :-). Takeaway hot drinks available too.
Beautiful countryside setting, very quiet but walk down the drive & catch the x27 or x28 bus on the main road & you can be at Princes Street in the City centre in 1/2hr max.
Would thoroughly recommend & will definately be back again.

Excellent stay for our family of 4! We loved the Dalmahoy and the grounds a short drive away from Edinburgh, this area was one of the highlights of our UK trip! We enjoyed the full Scottish breakfast most days before exploring the city of Edinburgh, we loved using the fitness center and soaking in the pool, sauna and steam room, plus we drove some golf balls and had dinner and a pint in the pub. The staff made us feel very welcome and were both friendly and professional. We had excellent customer service from Rebecca at the front desk, and Jeffie and Archana in the dining room.

Incredibly disappointing service. Staff that do not care at all, they don’t communicate with each other. No basic manners - the receptionist Celia was rude, inattentive and dismissive.
So disappointing as the hotel and the grounds and the restaurant was absolutely stunning, but never will be staying again as this was the worst service I have received in almost a decade.
Sincerely teach your staff to be polite, act as if they want to be there and to not mutter to their colleagues about guests. A simple smile and pleasantry and a desire to actually help solve a guests problem would be appreciated.
