The staff were absolutely amazing! I couldn’t say one negative thing about them. Very helpful giving directions etc unfortunately we had issues with the cleanliness of our room and had to change. One room had what appeared to be blood on the wall. Very disappointed as this hotel is supposed to be a 4 star.

The room was clean, the staff was awesome, and I don't business so, IDK on that one. I don't know of any shops that were close-by, we had to ride a bus for a bit or drive the rental for a little bit to find everything. It's close to the airport so no rushing the day of flying out. It was close to the main highway. That helped out tremendously when we left the south for Portree. The bus stop is across the street which will get you downtown, especially close to the castle in Edinburgh. The uber to get downtown is like 40 USD. SO its wise to figure out the public transport. They had parking for our rental, which was way nice.

The only issues I had were sitting sideways on the jon because the toilet paper holder was jutting out and some horrible channels (44 of em) on the TELE, it was a pain to connect our iPhone so we never did. Also, I am lazy, so that's not on them. No in-house or self service laundry so probably a great hotel for business 1-2 days as well. Overall top marks and the price was competitive. It all felt pretty new. I would stay here again.

The staff were very accommodating and friendly as they allowed me to check in 2 hours early without any issues. The room was pleasantly spacious, however I did notice several stains on the carpet and the tv had been unplugged. Due to being wall mounted I had to ask a member of staff to help get it plugged in, only to find the chrome cast feature did not work and seems to be a common issue.

We were able to check in early and the room had clearly just been cleaned as it smelt very fresh. Breakfast was good for the price and had plenty of options. Easy access to the city centre via the bus and was able to park the car for free for the duration of our stay. I would stay here again if i was in the area. The only criticism is that the iron in the room did not work very well.

Cool room! Comfy bed, really nice washroom. The only thing was the shower always got the floor pretty wet because the glass wall doesn’t go out far enough. The breakfast just ok, we came down and the food looked like it had been sitting for a while so we waited for fresh to come out. But the dinner we had at the restaurant was great. The gym on campus was awesome, really short walk across the street.

Right near the bus stop which was a 25 minute spin into the heart of Edinburgh. Staff were helpful. WiFi was a bit dodgy and there were occasional loud noises during the night.

Free parking (what a bonus) bus stops just around the corner although taxis were quicker to get into Edinburgh town. Would highly recommend and use again. Loved Scotland!!!

The first time I stayed here I had no issues so I came back the following week. When we came to check in, their system was down and they weren’t able to activate our room keys, the front desk was required to bring us up to our rooms. We asked her if we can add breakfast for the next day and she said she can’t because the system is down but it shouldn’t be a problem. So we get into our rooms and there is a black dark stain on the carpet near the bed. We ask front desk if we can switch the room because we are not comfortable with that stain. She said that a lot of rooms have it and if she changes our room we might get another stain. So we just left it as that. The next day we go down to eat breakfast and the woman at the breakfast bar say our room number is not written down saying we pre booked breakfast so she said she will give us a receipt and we can pay after we eat. So we get the receipt and it shows 12.95 per persons I went to the front desk and spoke to the male with the glasses and I told him it should be 10£ per person not 12.95 and he said no because we didn’t pre book the day before. I explained to him that was because their system was down and the girl at front desk said it was ok we would still get it for £10. The guy was not friendly,, he just kept repeating the same thing and we ended up having to pay £12.95/person. He was rude and not understanding at all. I would not recommend coming to this hotel

Room smelt slightly of smoke and every time the toilet was flushed there was a loud cistern noise which lasted for 1 minute, this noise also applied when other rooms flushed there toilets. So as you can imagine very noisy during the night, so we didn’t have a good nights sleep.

Staff aren’t the most friendly ones around, barring the Reception staff. Not a service with smile. They barely greet you or even smile when greeting. Wonder if they are all overworked.

The room was hardly stocked, even basics like tissue boxes were empty. Some basics like cutleries (spoons) were not available in the room and had to fetch everything from the reception.

First hotel in Scotland with ac, it worked well. Room was clean and housekeeping checked it daily unless we put the door card out. Had a small fridge.
The frosted glass door to the bathroom was a unique touch! Nice for a night light
Elevators were in working order and readily available.
The food at the restaurant was good, Breakfast was a well stocked buffet. Nice to have as no other restaurants were nearby. It was sometimes difficult to find a server to pay the bill.
Bus stop to the city was a short walk and buses came by frequently.

Staff were nice, but there were some issues with the property. The bathroom did not have shower door, so the water got everywhere. It also didn’t have much for privacy either with only frosted glass window to separate users from the sitting/sleeping area (also no fan). Housekeeping never replenished the coffee and cream, so we were told to come down and get some!! Really? For the price - not worth it.

Situated perfectly in a quiet spot on the grounds of the university campus, we took andvantage of a woodland walk 1 minute from the hotel entrance. extremely pleasant and helpful staff. Room was very clean and spacious with a stunning bathroom having both a bath and large shower. Breakfast was a delight with plenty of options to choose from. My only complain would be the pillows are way too soft with little support for your head. Room was expensive as we didn’t realise when booking the Edinburgh Fringe Festival was on which I dare say increased the normal room tariff considerably

The hotel was a bit off the beaten path so we were a little uneasy about staying at the Marriott Edinburgh hotel. But there was a bus stop about 100 yards from the hotel. The 25 bus went right into Edinburgh and it took about 35 minutes which I thought was nice. The hotel itself was right in a college campus so it had a good energy about it. The room was great. The breakfast was reasonable for $10 pounds and the bar area was convenient. Would recommend if you don't mind taking a bus into Edinburgh.

The property is ideally located near the airport for the Royal Farm show. Hotel is very quiet and away from the busy areas of the city. Restaurant staff are helpful, although may stand over you when signing your bill, they should stay off to one side.

Initially, I was disappointed with my hotel selection as this hotel is a fair way out of town, but, as it is near the university, and adjacent to a park & ride location, the buses run every 10 minutes. The distance from the city was not an issue for us. Parking was included - bonus, and being on the outskirts of town made it easier for us to travel up further into Scotland on day trips without fighting city traffic. Access to downtown Edinburgh was easy - 40 minute bus ride. Room was good - roomy - comfy bed - air conditioning. Buffet breakfast was same/same as other hotels. No complaints - full range of options. The dinner options at their onsite restaurant are limited. We opted to stay in town later at night at eat at a Pub in town. The buses ran late into the evening. Overall, good place to stay. Only downside is there are no dining options close by. I would happily stay at this hotel again.

The hotel restaurant had great food. The hotel is only a 20-25 min bus ride to the City Center, so very easy. We loved the hotel and would highly recommended.

This hotel is located on a college campus and while only 5 miles from city seemed a hundred miles away the only place to eat was the hotel. It did give me a life lesson on how to use a bus to get into town.

They didn’t properly clean our room (they would make the bed but didn’t take out the trash). The shower wall only covers half the wall, so water leaks - we mopped it up with towels but they never replaced the towels.
We didn’t know we had to place the key in the wall to turn on the electricity, the staff who showed us was a bit condescending.
