It was a shame that the pool was not for swimming. We came at the end of June. The grounds could’ve been better kept and cigarette butts cleaned up.

The hotel could easily pass for a motel and the pictures shared on their online page were much better than what you experience physically on ground. Their breakfast was horrible and not in the best shape. The swimming pool was also non-functional and the ambience needs to be kept cleaner and tidier. The amount charged for the facility is way too expensive for what they offer.

The staff was nice and friendly however the staircase smelled of stale smoke, the bed was so hard and one of the worst beds I ever “slept” (didn’t sleep much) in, room was clean (no signs of bedbugs or anything like that) but it was definitely dated and worn and could use some upgrades besides a coat of paint. The complementary breakfast was either waffles or cereal and being gluten intolerant there was nothing I could eat and no breakfast place opened before 7am. Thank goodness there was a Starbucks nearby for a quick egg bite before being in a seminar all day. Overall it was meh, but probably wouldn’t stay again unless have to.

The rooms were neat, tidy, and clean. The air conditioning unit was working very well. Shower was decent too. The receptionist was very kind and gentle. The breakfast was also very nice.

The only downside I felt was the room was wee bit smaller. If you want to dine-in with your partner, there is very little space to sit together and eat.

Check-in was uneventful. Room was on the 1st floor close to the lobby. It was relatively quiet. The room is dark and showed the main years of use and neglect. It's definitely nothing like the advertised picture. A coat of paint, new caulking, touchups - would go a long way. I'm not 100% sure but it looked like mold in the corner of the ceiling in the bathroom.

The room had a microwave, fridge and coffee maker. The bed was ok but the pillows were too thick. It was like +6\" high. Ended up not using the pillows.

Breakfast: just grabbed a yoghurt. Saw some hardboiled eggs, cereal and a waffle maker.

Would I stay here again? Only if no other choices.

If you must stay here make sure your room in in the south east corner. The rest of the hotel positively reeks of cigarettes. The first room we were given smelled so bad I had an asthma attack. The walls were banged up, looked like someone had taken a hammer to it. When checking the mattress there was all sorts of gross accumulated crud in the bed frame. Saw one person in the hallways with lit cigarette.

The only reason this review gets a slight bump from me is that the lady at the desk was extremely apologetic, and let me check all available rooms she had till we found f one that didn’t smell like an ashtray. S bit the cleanest, but at least we were able to bathe and sleep. So top notch customer service at the desk, the rest is outdated, dirty, and in the case of most of the rooms, smells and looks like the 1960’s.

Overall, for the price and type of hotel, this was a decent stay. The location was very convenient — just off the highway and close to restaurants, shopping, and everything we needed. The bed was comfortable, the shower had great pressure and hot water, and the microwave and fridge worked well. We also appreciated the main floor room with easy access to a grassy area for our dog, plus a green bin for waste bags. Continental breakfast was about what we expected.

Unfortunately, there were a few negatives. Our vehicle was vandalized in the parking lot during our stay. Thankfully it wasn’t broken into, but it was still upsetting.

Our room was also never serviced during our 3-night stay, although when I did find a housekeeper she was friendly and quickly provided towels upon request.

The biggest issue was the front desk staff. Our key cards repeatedly stopped working and every interaction about it came with attitude from multiple staff members, as though it was somehow our fault. We travel often and have never experienced ongoing key card issues like this before.

Overall, the hotel met our basic needs with decent sleep, good showers, fair pricing, and a convenient location, but customer service definitely needs improvement.

If you're looking for five-star luxury, this isn't it but if you need a reliable spot to crash after a night out or a quick place to stay while traveling, it definitely does the trick.
The staff is lovely and very welcoming, which makes a big difference. The rooms are basic but neat and tidy, and while the beds are actually quite comfortable, the pillows could definitely use an upgrade. Full disclosure: I’m the type of traveler who brings my own bedding anyway, so I was perfectly cozy!
The rooms do have a bit of an old-fashioned smell to them, but I found a quick hack: I clipped a linen scented car vent air freshener onto the heater/AC unit, and it cleared the air right up.
A huge highlight was the King Suite. It’s massive honestly felt more like a bachelor apartment than a hotel room. It comes with a full kitchenette, a full-size fridge, and Smart TVs, which is a nice modern touch for a budget friendly stay.
Bottom line: It’s nothing fancy, but it's clean, comfortable, and the extra space in the suites makes it a great value.

We had reserved for two nights but left after the first night. We found the rooms very dated, curtains were worn and the bed sheets had seen better days. We were on the first floor (by our request as we are older and stairs pose a bit of a problem) and we found there was quite a bit of noise in the halls. I also felt uncomfortable during the night as I thought I heard someone trying to access our patio door. I woke my husband and he checked outside but couldn’t see anything. The hotel cost was very reasonable and now I know why. I had read most of the reviews and none of the reviews reflected the shabbiness of the rooms. This hotel certainly needs a facelift! We will be cautious about staying at Super 8 again

The pictures on the Expedia site are AI generated. All the hallways smell of smoke which in turn makes your room smell like smoke. The sheets were stained and ripped. The shower did not work. The room smells like a combination of mildew and smoke. Will not return. There seems to be quite a few rooms occupied full time rather than hotel guests.

For the price, it is a great place to stay.Definitely we'll be staying again.

The rooms do have a little bit of a musky smell. It is an older motel. I just put a plug in in my room and it was great. Beds are very comfortable. They could use bigger pillows, but I did bring my own bedding as that's just who I am. There's a mini fridge, coffee maker and a microwave in your room. T v worked great in all outlets.We're working fine, would stay again for sure

We left. This hotel seemed to be where homeless people were placed. It smelled of smoke, garbage bags were in the halls, the beds felt like they were going to break & it was very run down. The man at the front desk was very nice. He didn’t argue when I told him we were leaving because we didn’t feel safe after 10 minutes. DO NOT BOOK HERE! We went to the Hampton Inn in Guelph and it was more pricy but wonderful!!

The website pics for this hotel are deceptive.
The actual accommodations are more like a homeless shelter. We did not feel safe. The rooms were disgusting, dirty and smelly. It was so bad that we were unable to stay there. I would not recommend this motel to anyone. DO NOT STAY AT THIS MOTEL. Lack of hygiene and safety.

Got cockroachs and there's a bunch of homeless people staying there, and I paid top dollar as a single mother that just became homeless.It's ridiculous.The poor service and the ignorance that I got the amount of money I spent there in the last five months is unfucking believable but yet it's still the cheapest one.So how to do what's what I have to do with , but now that I have my own place , I have had a little bit of a cockroach infinity just because of this motel

Bugs in bathroom, faucets in both sinks sprayed everywhere, hide-a-bed most uncomfortable (bd mattress ok), soap very cheap, no shampoo, very small TV, peeling paint, bathtub scratched and dirty-looking, smell in hallway, and in suite, desk scratched and paint splatters, advertised as suite but no plates or cutlery. Very tired hotel in need of maintenance and sprucing. One heater did not work.
