The breakfast was wonderful, dinner too. Though finding a table could be hard. Hotel a little dated, but rooms are spacious. Ours was a bit far from reception but connected by underground tunnels. Parking cost 15 Euro a night. Drinks very expensive. Water was 7.50 euros. If you take the meal package you must pay additional £30 euro for the kitchen facility but worth it. Carpets need renewing. Pool was large and lovely with super mountain views.

Our room was up 16 flights of stairs. There were no elevators so we had to drag our suitcases drom the farage (extra charge) thru the tunnels, and up the spiral staircases that ultimately led to our room. While the room was clean and spacious it certainly wasnt worth the climb. On a positive note, the breakfast was great.

Lots of facilities we could have used but we were only there for 24 hours. Pool was fab, and a 10 min walk along to some shops and restaurants. Driveway was up a steep hill, but that gave us great views across to the ski jump too. Breakfast buffet was lovely and not too busy despite us going quite late in the serving times.
We had a family room which had two separate bedrooms and a dining area and 2 bathrooms

This hotel is wonderful! We stayed with 3 kids and were able to get together in a single deluxe 2-bedroom suite. Great location close to the mountains, friendly staff, nice selection of food, beautiful area around the building with trees and playground for the kids. Definitely would love to come back!

I prepaid for my son's room in advance through Expedia. He was staying one night waking up very early, 3am, to climb the Zugspitze.
Upon checking out at the desk the hotel said they had no record of my expedia payment. My son showed them the receipt I sent him but they wouldn't honor it and made him pay with his credit card. We have now been charged double and the hotel is refusing to refund my son even though we have proof of both payments. Expedia is also having trouble getting an answer from the hotel.

After travelling 11hrs arrived at hotel to be told they don’t have luggage trollies, no help was offered- lift down to the tunnel, incline walk through tunnel, lift up, short walk then four flights of steps arrived at our room to repeat this journey again to get the rest of our luggage- NOT A GOOD FIRST IMPRESSION!! No tea or Coffee in room as mentioned on website, had to pay for it in the restaurant …Lovely setting, breakfast very good, room needed a new carpet. Onsite facilities were good but no information in room regarding opening times e.g turned up at the gym to find it closed.

We loved our stay. It had a feel of better times, with kids playing together in a safe space, plenty of space for adults to hang nearby with good food and drinks. I loved the room which was very clean and had a retro style. So much space too! Don’t forget to pack your bathing suits. We didn’t and we’re disappointed that we couldn’t enjoy the indoor pool. The dinner buffet, and breakfast buffet were both very good.

Absolutely beautiful property, located in a perfect location for the local hikes such as Partnach Gorge. The accommodations were nice and cozy, sure they lack those modern details like your standard modern corporate hotel but its character and makes you feel at home. Staff were super friendly, even when I struggled to speak the German from my translation app, they were very patient with me. The breakfast buffet top notch, plenty of food and variety, its something I will miss when traveling to my next destination in Germany. I would stay here again the next time I visit Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

Superb stay

We were so impressed with the staff's helpfulness, friendliness and accommodating attitude - we actually wished we had booked a longer stay. Then there is the cleanliness and comfort of the hotel that was outstanding, plus the loads of amenities we didn't even get to sample due to our enjoying the slopes in Garmish so much. And we also revelled in the Amazing food + beer and wine. All in all, we felt like royalty staying at our winter palace :)

The property is lovely, and the food was amazing. We had breakfast on our reservation but they suggested that we added half board and dinner would be included as well, for 36 euros extra, per person, for a buffet. It was well worthy.
Although the room was a bit far from the reception, we walk underground through a tunnel under the hotel, so it was not hard. Perhaps if you have heavy luggage it could be, due to some steps along the way, but the hotel was really nice and the 2 rooms spacious.

If you like to hike, this is the place to be! It's a less than 10-minute walk to the Olympic Stadium and Gorge. There is a fabulous little cafe within the stadium and ski lifts. We dined at the restaurant in the hotel the first evening. It was rather expensive for 2 adults/3 kids, however, the buffet selection was AMAZING! We will definitely stay again!

This is a sprawling complex that is tucked away from the main part of Garmisch-Partenkirchen but still accessible via car, taxi, bus, or even just a nice walk. We had a two-bedroom apartment with a balcony. This was plenty of room two parents and two adult children (though they did have to sleep in bunk beds which was throwback to childhood memories). I also enjoyed the free taijiquan class in the adjacent training facility. We plan to stay again.

This property is very close to the ski slope, and is a short walk to Partnachklamm. It’s a family resort with a nice swimming pool and a great playground for kids. It has a nice outdoor patio where they serve food and beer in fine weather. It’s about a mile from the train station in Garmisch, so we were able to walk back and forth along the river. We would definitely stay there again.

This property needs a renovation urgently. Even the suite had was old, worn out, and with lots of stains everywhere. Parking is 11 Euros and since there is no parking nearby there is no alternative. Way overpriced.

I reserved two rooms for our family. Arrived at the property and found out the rooms were nowhere close to each other. They were on the same reservation.
The \"tunnels\" where dirty and some filled with vomit.

The hotel is laid out like a village and was great for a family with young kids, Staff are nice and friendly, Pool and kids playground are both great to have. The sofa bed was possibly the least comfortable \"bed\" we have ever slept on, they should provide a light mattress to use over it as it's like sleeping on a wooden table. The Bar is very small and quiet so not perhaps for those looking for any kind of social vibe. Location is a nice scenic 15 min walk from main town centre and has nice view over the valley and Mountains.

No customer service at all

The front desk is useless. They do not provide any information about the local activities because they don't think it is their job. Our room does not have heat because it is not turned on, and the front desk told us to bring an electrical heater and they never delivered. They never answered our calls from the room. Overall, the stay was terrible.

There were no elevators going to rooms on the higher floors. No porters - we came with 2 little kids and were given a room furthest from the reception. We lugged 3 pieces of luggage to these rooms along with the kids

Staff was not child friendly- nowhere else in Germany do we have to pay for milk for the baby. Paying is not a problem and we’re on to do that, but here, even after paying $4 they gave us a less than 8iz portion.

Hotels.com details include text that the hotel had limited housekeeping, yet the hotel was advertised as a four-star hotel and hence one would assume daily room cleaning in line also with the German star classification standard. Apart from this reception failed to inform us at check-in that room cleaning and towel changes would only be provided at an additional charge.

The room allocated needs refurbishment, especially the carpets which were stained in various places. (Carpets in the corridors were similarly stained).

The Room should have had a mini fridge which was missing.

A gate to a road at the back of the property which would have been a convenient way to walk to the center of Partenkirchen was locked (probably for security reasons). Yet a notice on the padlocked gate said it was to be used in case of a fire.

This was a great location for winter sports. We were there in June and the lack of air conditioning was a little uncomfortable but tolerable; I did not notice a lack of AC when a booked this hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful, it is convenient to dining and grocery shopping for an extended stay. Their dining room had good food and service but was expensive. Very old property and Expedia messed up our booking too. Had 3 rooms booked but the hotel had only 2 rooms. They managed to give us the 3rd room finally but it was a different type. Carpets were dirty, musty smelling and no A/C or fans were provided. Towels were missing, lots of other small issues that we ran into.

Gorgeous stay at this hotel! At the bottom of the hill we could catch the bus into town with the tickets provided by the hotel and use them for the duration of our stay. Awesome Mountain view from our terrace and the room was perfect for our family of 5. Plenty of space and the surrounding nature and views were breathtaking. Had a great meal our first night there at the hotel restaurant buffet with German foods(delicious) and the staff were very friendly and helpful! I’d definitely stay there again. We were bummed the pool was closed but maybe next time! Thanks for a great stay, we will be back!

location is really good, and the green surroundings make it quiet and relaxing.
the personnel is very service oriented, and the food in the restaurant was suprisingly good! the menu was a bit boring standard, which is understandable for the kind of hotel it is, but the food was generous portions and very tasty! and the breakfast was absolutely amazing, so much local choice and nice things to choose from.

the room was ok, but outdated bavarian, the mattress was a bit worn off, and the bath seemed renovated but bland white tile. the toilet, this was weird.. was so low, that it seemed to be kids friendly, but it was not pleasant.

I very much appreciated the sauna, the pool, it is really nicely done, top quality, and not very crowded so we had a great wellness evening.

in all due to the state of the room, I have to say the price was a bit high, the great breakfast did balance that a bit but with the room state, I would say the value for money was not quite there.

Excellent stay at the Dorint Sport Hotel. Staff were professional and welcoming throughout our stay. Our room was spacious and comfortable.
Breakfast was superb, so much choice and we loved that a fresh pot of coffee was on our table waiting each morning. There was a slight hiccup in that our room rate included breakfast, but it wasn’t appearing on the breakfast list, but this was dealt with without fuss and corrected.
As a German speaker, though not having had the opportunity to speak the language for many years, I was impressed staff communicated throughout in German, but reverted to English for the rest of the family- this made us all feel at home!
Perfectly situated for sightseeing in the area, we will happily consider returning sometime in the future.

Great views and surroundings (see pic)
Breakfast spread had lots of choices - all delicious and well thought out for every dietary need
Bus stop is right across the street so accessibility using public transport is no problem - bus lines 1 and 2 reach directly from the train station
Very silent and peaceful.

Cons:
Internet in room was an issue. Got disconnected every few minutes and could not connect more than one device at a time
Cleanliness and hygiene concerns in the room as we found several flying insects and larvae on the walls. Also, the upholstery was worn out. (See pics)

Due to COVID concerns we didn’t use the other facilities such as Spa, Fitness Center, etc.

Very large rooms, separate bedroom. Extra charges for using a kitchen that is NOT stocked with pots and pans, only plates, glasses and silverware...carpets are really old and appear stained, but clean. Pillows were completely flat, but they brought another when called. Staff were super friendly!

We had one of the rooms with kitchen, but there was a sign that said we would be charged a fee if we used it (???). Overall, terrible value for the money.

Great location with easy access to some of the key sights in Garmisch. The rooms are comfortable and spacious. We loved the personnel- very friendly. Only thing is that the hotel is a bit complicated. There are multiple houses and there is lot’s of walking. Check-in and check-out were excruciatingly slow. There is no such thing is running out for a quick errand.

Hotel is in much need of updating and TLC. Staff was very nice and the breakfast was good. The two room suite had more than enough room, but the single bed in the second room was not what I'd call a real bed and was so uncomfortable, my son ended up sleeping on the couch instead.

The Dorint Sporthotel is an interesting place. The rooms are in different blocks, all connected by underground walkways as well as surface paths. They are of a good size with large seating area for 6 plus around a table. There is a kitchenette available but we didn’t select it. There was a kettle in the room. The balcony allowed us to sit outside.
Car parking was in an underground car park below the leisure area. Pool is of a good size, but apparently you’re not allowed to swim properly…..a user told me off for swimming too fast!
We didn’t try the sauna area.
This was a very comfortable stay, the breakfast had fantastic choices and the restaurant excellent.
We would stay here again!

When we first arrived at the hotel we found it wonderful, though old. The way up to the room was quite rough, and included a short climb with our luggage, as we haven't been told about the car entrance or about the underground tunnel.
The room seemed neat and clean, but later we found a few cocoons attached to the curtain. The staff quickly removed those.
Also, the refrigerator wasn't operating when we arrived, but was replaced the next morning, and the toilet seat wouldn't stay up. The last issue the staff wouldn't try to fix until before our very last night, when the maintenance person finally replaced the toilet seat which obviously fixed the problem (while the desk staff insisted that it wouldn't, and then insisted that there is no problem with the toilet).
This hotel needs immediate renovation. I would definitely recommend visiting afterwards, as Dorint is indeed a wonderful hotel chain.

Time for a refurbish

Way to expensive for the quality of the room. This hotel is outdated, worn down and rooms need to be refurbished. The sheets were scratchy and overall did not live upto my expectations.

It is a beautiful get away. But the room was not well equipped. Traveling with a family of 4 we like to keep food and drink but this hotel did not have a mini bar or a microwave. Feels like they want you to eat from the hotel then eat on your own. Also there was small but noticeable stains on the walls. The sheets that were provided for the pullout sofa had hair on them. this hotel has a lot of potential but it needs to provide the bare necessities for $300 a night.

Pool and relaxation area avaulable until 10pm, and underground option to get between buildings when raining. Rooms were okay, large living area in apartment.

Disappointed in Dorint.

One room was beautiful, convenient, and couldn't have been better. The other two rooms were at the other end of the world and not convenient to each other. The walk was between a quarter and a half mile (via my pedometer) and involved multiple stairs and dragging luggage. The reservation was made for 3 rooms. Why did they not put us together? And why, when they saw that the person in the farthest room was a tiny grandmother in her late 70's, did they think it was okay to send her dragging her suitcase to the nether reaches? They should have observed and offered assistance or immediately changed the room. Their breakfast was wonderful, but we will not recommend this place to friends without warning.

Everything is good about the Dorint sporthotel, but you need a bike to go to the city the air was good but don't walk at night after 10 pm because there's unknown dogs are waling in the streets, you need a bike from search on Google Maps for bike center and ask them about the prices you can store the bike for free in bike garage in the other white building on the left side just swipe the door and store the bike, i hope to stay again in future ^_^
